Chapter 15

Meliodas pov

I looked through the book Twilight had brought me seeing mostly young school children's books.

"Hey!"

I looked up, seeing Gleaming and Cadence chasing Jinn as she ran into the throne room. She had a bag in her hands, and Gleaming and Cadence had a massive blush on her face. I raised an eyebrow before throwing out my and grabbed Jinn with my darkness then pulled her over to me. She smiled as she looked at me, showing fangs as she looked at me. "Jinn?" She held the bag out to me, and I saw it was one of those fancy types of bags you'd get at a dress shop. But, the weight suggested something else was in there, and I could see the shape. I threw it over to Gleaming, who grabbed it with her magic then glared at the confused Jinn.

"Stay out of our room!"

She yelled, and Jinn jumped then ran behind me. I looked at Gleaming then pointed to the door a smile on my face. "I'll deal with her Gleaming, you two go on back to your room and do whatever it was you were about to do." She blushed, grabbed the blushing Cadence, then quickly walked out as I sighed, then reached and grabbed her hand, and then pulled her onto the pillow. She smiled then hugged my arm as she looked up at me. I laughed a little, then nodded my head then reached down for the alphabet book. It was the pony version, so many of the items to go with the sound were much different from what I was used too. I showed it to her, and she turned her head to the side as she looked at it. I pulled my arm free, then moved her into my lap and opened to the front page. "Ok, Jinn, we need to start teaching you how to read and write.

"W-wr-ite?"

I smiled then nodded as I pointed to the first letter. "Ok, let's start with the basics Jinn." She nodded as I started explaining the alphabet to her. She tried to repeat every letter and word I spoke. She had a hard time with s, r, c, and K. Jinn crossed her legs as she looked down at the back, and I smiled as I closed the book then grabbed a small notebook with a pen. "Ok, the best place to start is with your name Jinn." She nodded, then I opened the notebook and grabbed her hands. "Ok, use your dominant hand to hold this and well get started." She nodded, then took it with her left hand, and I nodded as she looked down at the paper. I helped her write down her names a few times. Then she tried and did it poorly, but she did it.

"Jinn."

I smiled and nodded as she started to write it over and over quickly, getting better as she wrote it each time. After the tenth time, she wrote it almost identical to mine. 'Crazy.'

"Meliodas."

I looked up, seeing Luna and Spirit standing in the doorway. I waved at them, and Jinn held the notebook up, showing me her writing. I laughed as I rubbed her head as I looked back at the two. "What's up?" They laughed, and Luna walked over with a sketchbook in hand. I reached over with my darkness and took it from her. I looked down at it, seeing me in the drawing with a long shoulder cape, boots, and a crown with seven points. I laughed as I looked back at Luna then nodded my head as I looked at her. "No, way." She frowned as she looked at me then to the book.

"What? I drew it myself."

I laughed as I nodded my head as I looked at her. "No, no, Luna, I like the drawing, but I want to wear a cap or a crown. My shirt and jeans are enough. Suddenly Jinn started to pitch a fit from not getting attention as she kept writing her name. I patted her head and started to calm down as she looked back at me.

"M-m-m.."

I laughed as I pressed her head into my chest, helping her to calm down. "I'm sorry Jinn I didn't mean to make you feel like we were ignoring you." She smiled as she looked back at me, then sat back down on my lap then leaned back into my chest. I sighed as Luna and Spirit trying not to laugh as they looked at us. I glared at them, and then they laughed out loud as they looked at me. I rolled my eyes then sighed as I patted Jinn's shoulder, and she looked back at me. "I need to get up Jinn."

"No!"

She grabbed onto my arm, and I sighed as I looked down at her. "Come on Jinn I need to use the bathroom."

"No!"

Starting not to care, I turned into darkness; I slipped out of her hold and reformed behind her. I jumped off of chastiefol, and Jinn fell back, and she looked back at me as I quickly started to walk out.

"AH!'

Jinn yelled out, and I heard rushing hoofs. I took off at a run and quickly ditched her and sighed as I looked for the nearest bathroom.

"My king?"

I stopped and looked the right seeing a young maid behind me. She was a thestral mare in a nice maid outfit and had on a lace bell wrap with a set of small glasses on. She had a nice shade of dark blue to her mane and tail with a light grey coat.

I smiled down at her as she looked me in the eye, unlike many of the others around the castle. "Yes, I'm looking for a restroom do you think you can help me miss?" She smiled as she looked at me then nodded her head. She walked ahead of me, her hands locked behind her back.

"This way my king."

I smiled and walked up beside her as she walked down the hall. "Can I have your name miss?" She seemed surprised then smiled as she looked at me.

"Misty."

I smiled as she came to a stop and nodded her head to the side. I looked and smiled as I looked at the door leading to the new butler's locker room. "Thanks Misty." I waved to her as I walked into the bathroom.

Twilight pov

"See the shining sores, she the shining stars." I sang along to a song I had playing on the radio Meliodas got for me. He didn't like me spending hours alone, so he gave that to me. I looked up from the paperwork I was filling out to look at it. 'Guess he is a nice stallion.'

"BANG"

I looked up from the papers and looked at the door as another bang came. I got up, and Jinn burst through the double doors with a set of magic poppers in hand. Pinkie was after her with icing on her face with some cake in her mane. I jumped to the side as Jinn ran around laughing as she pulled the string popping the popper.

"Come back here!"

I used my magic to grab Jinn by the shirt she was wearing, letting Pinkie grab her.

"NO!"

Jinn wined as she pulled her out of my lab as Meliodas walked in and rubbed his head as he looked at me.

"Sorry to ask, but do you think you can help me with her? Jinn's proving to not much care for trying to read books."

I laughed as I put the pen down then let my main down from the bun then stood. "Ya, if we can get her to my room." Meliodas looked at me for a second, and I laughed as I looked at him. "Ya, I have a bedroom in there remember you opened the door back up?" He laughed, then nodded his head as he looked at me, smiled as he walked over to me, and grabbed my hands. I blushed as we started to then really took notice of how big his hands were next to mine. They were large and looked so rough, but they were soft, and he held my hand so gently. It was like he was holding a newborn foal who could be the most fragile thing in the world.

"Twilight you ok?"

I looked up to his face, and I realized how tightly I was holding his hand. I laughed as I looked around, seeing the library then let go of his hand. "I'm good! Just um, thinking it all." He looked a little worried but nodded his head. We walked into the library; then, I lead them to my old room. Jinn loved seeing the new room, and she jumped face-first onto my bed. I laughed as Meliodas tried to stop her as she started messing up the covers as she bounced on the bed. I leaned over and looked at the beginner books my mother got me when I first started to read. There were books from the hardest ones to the easier ones.

"AH!"

I jumped and turned to see Jinn biting Meliodas's arm with a smile on her face as she held onto his stomach. Meliodas was using his darkness to keep her sharp teeth from sinking into his arm. Pinkie was trying to pull her off as she held on. I glared at Jinn when she looked at me then tried to use the same voice my mother used when Gleam would sneak out to see Cadence. "Let him go now!" All of them looked a little surprised by my tone, and Jinn let go of his arm and stomach. I walked over to her and grabbed her ear, making her whine as she grabbed my hand. "Now, you listen to me! you are going to act like a civilized young mare do I make myself clear?" She nodded, then I let her ear go, and she rubbed it as I looked down at her. "Sit on the bed quietly and wait. Once I've found the books for you I will be taking teaching you how to read and write understand?" She nodded again; then I looked over at Meliodas and Pinkie. Pinkie was behind Meliodas, who had a surprised look on his face.

"Damn, Twilight got to say I kind of didn't think you had it in you."

I smirked, then walked overhand on my hips, then stood in front of him, raised and hand then poked his chest with a finger. "Well, king Meliodas I can put you in your place if you start acting up too." He nodded as he looked down at me, hands raised.

"No, no I'm good I promise."

I smiled as I turned, then walked back over to my bookshelves and leaned back over to see what I could get. I grabbed the books I wanted and looked back to see Jinn was behind Meliodas. I glared at her, and she jumped back on the bed. I smiled then waved Meliodas and Pinkie Pie out of my room. They left quickly, and Meliodas seemed to be a little worried as he looked back at me as he walked down the steps. I smiled and waved as he vanished from my site. I sat down and opened the bed and smiled as she looked at me. "Ok were going to start with see gem run." I held up a book with a small young dragoness on the cover.

Meliodas pov

We walked out of the Library Pinkie pie at my side. "Never expected Twilight to act like that." She nodded then I smiled as I wrapped an arm around her and she looked up at me. I smiled then raised a fist and spoke in a cheerful tone. "To the kitchen to make more cupcakes!" Pinkie smiled then raised her fist as she looked at me.

"YA!"
