Meliodas pov

I stood in a room of screaming nobles the all the girls but twilight were behind me with Luna at my side, but Celestia sat in her throne. I didn’t mind with what I was about to do she’d have it back if what I was about to do worked. After last Friday, I know why she hated so much at the start of this mess.

Last week Meliodas pov

I leaned on the wall outside of a room and listened to Twilight and Celestia fight.

“Twilight while I admit I may seem harsh or evil for wanting Meliodus dead I have very good reasons.

"Sombra."

That is my reason Meliodus' power is the almost exactly same as another male who almost killed both Luna and i that darkness he was a sweet colt who turned into an evil tyrant named Sombra that is why I am worried, not for my own sake but for Equestria's it's only a matter of time till Meliodus loses himself to that dark power as well. Luna and I only survived the fight with Sombra due to the element of magic, giving us an endless supply of magic for a healing spell."

I walked in after hearing that. “You know you could have told me that or have him written down in the history books, It doesn't excuse you enslaving males, but it does explain why you still want to kill me.” I walked up to her, then grabbed her shoulder and pulled the ring off her horn, and she looked at me. I smiled down at her as she looked up at me. “I promise you’ll see I’m nothing like that.” She looked me in the eyes, but I turned to walk out of the room. But stop and looked back at Twilight. “I need you to go to the archives every day for the week looking up the spell and old laws of the slave marks and how they work.”

“Right.”

Current meliodas pov

I cleared my throat, and everyone quested down. "Ok the law on slavery is nullified, and the marks are still there?" "Twilight asked, "What is going on?"

"After I learned that females hunt most males if free I changed had Luna, and Twilight change the spell to allow the marks to become marriage marks instead," I spok, and everyone’s jaws dropped as they looked at me. "I better understand why the spell came into being and kinda agree with it to a poin, but I didn't and still don't like how the marks were used to limit their bearers." I sighed as I crossed my arms as I looked at them. "Now they are mate marks as they should be not a brand of ownership,"

"That's why you sent me to the archives for the last week,"

Twilight said with a smile on her face as I looked down at her.

"When you told me to look into how the marks worked and how they came to b,e I thought something like this was the reaso, but I never guessed you wanted to keep them around."

"I kinda have to," I said as Twilight and Spirt hugged with me. "Seeing as it's been a part of your world for longer than I've been here. It's hard to remove something like that when it helped in the past. Though the laws around it went too far having a mark that bonds you to another and keeps you safe from rape and the like is still a good thing so I'll keep it but not the harsh laws that come with it."

"what about Tia? Are you still going to keep her as a slave? after all, she has helped fix some of the worst things about the marks in the past.”

Luna said, and I had to agree.

"From what Twilight read slaves could have been killed for anything at the drop of a pin in the old days for bucks they were once considered noncitizens during the three tribes period meaning they could be tradable goods who could be sent away from everything they knew. Celestia Stopped those things hard, making any harsh punishment like cutting off limbs or banishment a crime and bringing all slaves quality of life up in the process."

"I'll admit she has fixed the worst things about the mark and since only adults can receive a mark in the first place, I'm glad kid slaves were never a thing here so while she has to keep her collar on. She can use normal magic again, but as long as she doesn't use it to attack me.”

Twilight hugged me tighter.

"Thank you."

"Though she has to wear this from now on." I opened my darkness on my chest then pulled out a copy of Elizabeth bar clothes.

"While not doing her now reinstated but miner royal duties."

A few of the noble council looked shocked at what I was doing, but everything I did was within my power, and they had no power to stop me. "Honestly she seems to like sitting in that chair every day so she can have it back me while I do what I do best and train the guard alongside Gleaming. But, I still have the right to take a role in making the laws of the land. " I had a smirk on my face at the thought of the white guard captain. I looked down at Twilight as she hugged my side. "Your sister reminds me of another captan, and I once trained little Gillthunder she is just as strong as he was if not as strong as Ban one of the knights in my order I lead when he joined the Sins so she might become a great sparring partner later on too.” Silence filled the room, and finally, one of the nobles spoke up.

“What about the fighting laws?”

I looked over at a teen colt, and I smiled down at him. “I’m going to talk to everyone about things like that little one. But, don’t worry about it, little man.” He smiled up at me, and I held a fist out to him. He bumped my fist with him, and he smiled as he looked at me. The girls let me go then I looked at the high noble on the council. They all looked down from there, sitting in shock. In one fell swoop, I cut deep into their power, carving out a nice chunk for myself. " As for all of you, I'm taking you blood right to those seats and installing a right to vote for new high nobles. Your families have run this city and country behind the backs of royalty to long. I read law books for the last four hundred years. You've been slowly chipping away at laws to make it, so nobles has more power the royalty. Now I want one of you to fight me on this because I have proof to back this up." They looked at the two males back down, but one older mare yelled back.

"You can't just change all this on a bit! The noble council has been around since the princess took power!"

I smiled as I looked up at her. "Upper Crust, your family is one of the oldest but also the most active in the black market. Your family sells mainly young fillies and colts after having them kidnapped or foalnapped in this case, now it down and shut up like a good mare." She turned white as a ghost then tried to make a run for it. Two mare guards outside the doors grabbed and cuffed her as she screamed for them to let her go. I looked back to the remaining four nobles. I nodded my head to the side and telling them to get out of my site. They ran, and I laughed as many in the crowd, ran as well. I turned then walked up to the long table they at not a moment ago then put my hand on the top.

"Meliodas?"

I pushed down on the table, breaking it in two shocking the girls if the gasping meant anything. I looked back at Luna and Celestia a smile on my face."We best get back to the castle and get to work."

"Right."

"Sure Meliodas."

Luna horn more up and in a flash, we were back in the throne room. We all broke up into groups of the girls going back to their rooms, but Spirit and Twilight walked with me as I was walking down the hall heading for the guard barracks. Once I walked out into the yard, I saw the barracks and the guard using the training field. I smiled as I watched them train, then I felt someone grab hold of my right hand. Out of the corner of my right eye and saw Twilight holding my hand. I smiled then started to walk to the field and Spirit grabbed onto my left arm. I laughed and once we were on the training field, we had everyone's attention. Soon enough, Glemming saw us and saw Twilight’s hands holding my hand.

“Hey, sis!”

Twilight yelled beside me and waved with her other hand. Glemming walked over in her armor with a slightly annoyed look on her face. She looked down at our hands then grabbed Twilight in her magic then pulled her away from me. I cleared my throat a little then nodded my head to the side. Spirit let go, and she walked off to find something to do. I looked down at Glemming as she held Twilight in her arms. “Twilight, I’m going to go and find a wooden sword close to mine you explain what’s going on to your sister.” I walked off as I heard Twilight start chewing out her sister. I looked at all the wooden weapons they hand, and I found a nice short sword a little long but about the right size. I grabbed another one and spun both around my hands. Guards watched me as I moved. One a younger mare got a smug look on her face as she accidentally threw a spear to far as she practiced spear throwing. I leaned back the blade missed me completely dodged the spear all without looking at the spear. I stopped then turned my head and smiled as I looked over at the mare. She looked like she about pissed herself as she looked at me.

“S-sorry!”

I laughed then took a step to the side and slammed a foot down on the blade. The staff part flew up, and I kicked it up. Threw the right wood sword into the air then grabbed the spear and threw it back at her. It flew passed her head, cutting into her cheek slightly and punched halfway into the wall ten feet behind her. I caught the wooden sword then smiled as I walked to Glemming and Twilight. Glemming looked at me a slight frown on her face.

“Don’t get her pregnant until after a wedding.”

I dropped the wooden swords as I spun them. Twilight’s face turned red then she ran off. I stood there for a second then nodded my head side to side then looked at her, but she looked up at me arms crossed. “Where the hell did that come from?!” She frowned as she looked up at me.

“If you're really going to make the slave marks into mate marks then you're marrying her.”

I looked at her for a second then slapped a hand over my face. I dragged it down then looked at her. “I did that so they could leave when they wanted! I have no attraction to her or other mares! The only one I have the slightest chance of being romantic with is Spirit!” Her face turned red as she looked up at me then shoved me.

“Are you saying my sister isn't pretty enough for you!?”

“I’m not saying that she isn’t pretty, but I have no attraction to her! I didn’t even want to mark her! I knocked her out in self-defense, and it happened. The only problem is my counter magic keeps us from normal means of freeing them! If I had it my way, I would have loved just to get riad of the marks and have my quiet life back!” We kept going until I had enough then I screamed down at her. “LISTEN!” She shut up right away. “I’ve enough of this I just want to help train some guards or see what they could do. But, you had to start something with me again! One day you're going to push me, and I’m going to kill you!” She turned even whiter, and she quickly shrank. I stormed off the library in the castle wanting to get away and hid, but when I got there, I found Twilight crying off in a corner. “Twilight?”

Twilight pov

I ran around a wall, my face burning as I covered my face so embarrassed at what my bsbff said. As I calmed down, I heard them yelling. I looked around the corner and listened in.

“Where the hell did that come from?!”

“If you're really going to make the slave marks into mate marks then you're marrying her.”

“I did that so they could leave when they wanted! I have no attraction to her or other mares! The only one I have the slightest chance of being romantic with is Spirit!”

Her face turned red as she looked up back up at me then shoved him as she looked at him.

“I’m not saying that she isn’t pretty, but I have no attraction to her! I didn’t even want to mark her! I knocked her out in self-defense, and it happened. I felt my heart drop as he yelled I walked away and felt tears starting to burn my eyes. I walked off thinking about how stupid I was for thinking he was really as nice as I thought he was. He was just doing this to get riad of us. I understood what we did was stupid, maybe even suicidal. But, it didn’t make sense he's been so kind over the last week, treated as his friends, even like family. He gave Pinkie a heartfelt apology about what he did. But, what stung the most was the fact he was the nices stallion I’ve ever meet. He paid attention to me and listen to me when I wanted to talk about my books, history of magic, or even my magic theories. Nopony would listen to me when I went on and on about all that, but he didn’t get sick of it them. I started to really cry, so I rushed to the library, knowing I would be alone. I got into a corner where I wouldn’t be bother as I cried, and after a few minutes, I heard his voice.

“Twilight?”

Meliodas pov

Twilight looked up at me, and I saw the tears running down her face. I reached down to touch her shoulder, but she slapped my hand away.

“Don’t touch me, you liar!”

I pulled my hand back as I looked at her. “Twilight what's wrong?” She looked up at me tears running down her face as she looked up at me. I kneeled down beside her as she cried and wrapped an arm around her shoulder as shw cried and, tried to push me away. I held her tight the she grabbed my shirt and kept say how much she hated me. I held her as she let it out. Half an hour passed before she fully calmed down. Once she was calm, I pulled her over into my lap letter lay her her back on my chest as I fully hugged her. "Guess you heard your sister and me, right?"

"Ya."

I didn’t know what to say, so I held her, but she didn’t try to move. I laughed a little then picked her up. She epped then wrapped her arms around my neck. She looked up at me, and I smiled back down to her. I jumped up over the railing then landed perfectly. She held on tight and didn’t let go until I let her down. She was on her hoofs, and she let go then looked around. She smiled as she looked around. I was in her study area turned room by Celestia with a bathroom off to the side hidden by a bookshelf. She had a map of the place hidden in her old room, and I memorized it the whole map and knew she had this room sealed off on the ground level after Twilight left.

“My old room!”

She opened the door then rushed in, and I walked in behind her. I was a large room with a queen-sized bed with six bookshelves along the walls. A desk sat off to the side with stacks of paper to the sides all of them with something written on them. I laughed then pulled the chair out at the desk as she looked through the old books. There were no windows but a clock on the wall which still seemed to work.

“Say can you reopen the door for me?”

I looked at her as she pointed to a door. Beside the bed then opened it and saw a set of steps. “Give me a minute.” I walked down the steps after she lit a candle then gave it to me. I walked all the way down twenty steps and found a wall. I drew my sword from my chest then cut the wall out. It fell down into the library, and it was the place I found Twilight hiding in. I smiled then walked back up the steps and found Twilight laid out on her bed.

“Hey, do you think I could live here again?”

I looked at her then laughed a little. “It’s your room you get to make that call.” She smiled as she looked at me.

"Thanks, Meliodas."

I smiled then walked out of the room heading to my room wanting a nap.
