For the last week, Rainbow thought. She thought a lot. What, or rather, whom, was her attention fixated on? The dragon of her dreams. Not once had he left her mind since their first connection. She thought about him every day and night. Every time they were apart, she longed to hear his voice again. Neither of them felt the need to hide their love for one another. They came clean to their friends the same afternoon of its first expression. Nary an objection was heard. They all felt the match wasn't too far-fetched. Now the Pegasus waited as she floated through her daily routines: waited for her hero's call.
Spike's day to day life was overtaken by a world of clouded bliss. While his body functioned of its own accord, his mind wandered elsewhere. He saw the blue mare everywhere he went. She was the calming ocean serenading him to sleep under a darkened sky. When he awakened, the sun would be shining on him again, and he would gaze upon her unfettered, beautiful grace. Fast or slow, he was content with either passage of time, for he knew she would be waiting to embrace him with open arms.
Twilight finished packing the rest of her supplies. She was set to leave town to meet with Celestia the next day. She noticed Spike sitting in the living room, lost in his own head as usual. She smiled and walked over to him before knocking on his noggin.
"Anybody up there? How's Lala Land?"
"Oh. Hey, Twi."
"Can I count on you to look after the place while I'm gone?"
"Sure. No problem."
"I know what you're thinking about, you dirty boy."
"Joke's on you. I haven't thought about anything dirty for at least three minutes."
"Ooooh. Must be a personal record."
"Not yet. Going for nine."
"Sounds like a championship title to me."
"Totally."
"I'm going to bed soon."
"Okay. Night."
"Love you."
"Love you, too."
The Alicorn took a few steps away. She chuckled before heading to her room.
Spike saw Twilight off the next morning. She would be gone for two days. The dragon spawn went to his room and lied down for a while. He reflected on his life, freely exchanging his outdated lamentations for his new celebrations. Unable to hold himself back any longer, he took his phone from his pocket and messaged the one who captivated him so.
"Come over tonight. I have a surprise for you."
Rainbow flew around without much to do. She stretched her wings in the air. After some time had passed, she felt a vibration in the pocket of her jeans. She checked the message. It was from Spike.
"Is this your version of 'my parents aren't home'," she texted back jokingly.
"I'm not spoiling anything."
"No fair. Now I'm all worked up."
"Let me take care of that. <3"
When the light of the sun was overshadowed by the ghostly pale of the moon, Rainbow stealthily flew above the streets until she reached the residence her lover shared with his step-sibling. The door was already unlocked. She entered slowly. The suspense was almost too much for her to take.
"Spike...?"
The sounds of mid-tempo Gothic rock emanated from the dragon's chambers. Rainbow Dash followed the auditory waves until she was face to face with his closed door. She reached out and opened it.
Save for a collection of lighted candles next to the bed and the posters on the innermost wall, the red room was almost completely barren.
"Spike...," Rainbow called out again. This time, she heard the door gently shut behind her.
"Hey, babe," she heard an eerily seductive voice say.
The Pegasus turned around to see Spike leaning into the corner. His coat cast thick, heavy shadows over his torso, but the physique that excited Rainbow seven days prior remained clearly visible. She fell back onto the bed.
"Don't think naughty thoughts, don't think naughty thoughts, don't think-"
Her efforts to resist were rendered useless by the approaching figure. He knelt down to meet her at eye level.
"Well, look at that. It appears your soul's been ensnared by my spell. The question is, what should I do with you first?"
He pretended to think for a moment.
"I know! How about another gummy bear?"
As if on instinct, Rainbow nodded.
"You're so cute when you're all girly like that."
Spike kissed Rainbow gently, but passionately. The taste of freshly sweet dragon blood drove her mad. Spike spread her body over the bed. He began trailing his lips down to her abdomen. He wanted her. He needed her: fully and completely. His greatest desire was for her to recognize his love and lust as one and the same.
"You're such a jerk," she gasped out.
Spike rose back up to meet her again. His expression briefly transformed from playful to emotional.
"Thank you."
"Don't get all mushy on me, big boy. You know what I want."
"I do."
Twilight entered the house. Had anyone else seen her, they would have said she was back sooner than expected, but the truth was, she wasn't back to stay yet. She hadn't forgotten anything either. No. Her motives were a fair deal more scandalous than that. She crept near her younger brother's room and stopped. Based on what she heard, she had gotten there just in time. She had known from the beginning it was only a matter of time before what was happening now occurred. She giggled to herself once more.
"Go get her, homeboy...," she spoke in a voice barely above a whisper, "Man, this is hot..."
It was then that Twilight noticed the readers.
"Oh! Um...Hi...?"
She tried to avoid their judgments. She grew increasingly flustered in the process.
"You all know as well as I do what's going on in there. I would describe it, but then this story would get an M rating and nobody would see it. Why should anyone see it? I have no idea. They probably shouldn't, but who cares? It's entertainment. I have my own collection, you. know!"
Twilight's embarrassment instantly skyrocketed when she realized what she had just said. She tried to recompose herself.
"Pfft. Whatever. I'm out of here. You guys win this round. Now if you'll excuse me, I have important business to attend to."
The Alicorn stormed off in a huff.
"Music needed more cowbell anyway..."
