The Start of A Traitor
The night was dark and cold. The brightness of the moon was covered by the darkness of the cloud. The capital city of the Kingdom of Equestria, Canterlot tries to shine its beacon of hope throughout the entire kingdom, but a large fog sweeps through the city. The house lights allow the path leading to the palace slowly deemed its brightness. The fog soon covered the towers and walls that defend the palace.
In the room of the second eldest daughter of King Heart and Queen Celestia, Princess Luna sleeps soundly under her bed with her balcony wide open. Her room was guarded by two royal guards in their shields and armor, with the hallway lit with torches. A sudden breeze blew through the room. Outside her balcony, were a dozen cloaked men from the Kingdom of Chaos, dressed in leather armor and short swords. The cloaked raiders stealthily entered the room, silently approaching the princess and covering the door. A dark mage comes close to the bed, he pulls a small bottle of magic potion and slowly drops its tear on the lips of Princess Luna.
Within a few seconds, Princess Luna suddenly screams erratically, alerting the guards outside. The guards entered the room, but the cloaked men came from behind and cuts their throats. The enemy quickly barricades the door with the lifeless bodies of the guards and their spears.
"What the hell did you do?" asked a cloaked man.
"She just suddenly screamed," said the mage, trying to hold her down with two other men. "The potion was suppose to knock her unconscious. "
"Then why the hell is she screaming," said the cloaked man.
The mage began to gag her with a part of his cape that he cut. Two men tries to hold her down, while she continues to scream. "For fuck sake! Hold her!"
One of the cloaked men approached the bed, and punches the princess, knocking her unconscious. He then tells the other two men holding her to carry her outside the balcony. He grabs the mage by the collar and stares into his eyes.
The mage was scared, sweating rapidly, "I'm sorry your majesty."
Outside the door, were several footsteps and murmurs. The royal guards outside the room tried to open the doors, but found it barricaded. They grabbed a nearby bench and picked it up as a battering ram to break down the doors. Approaching the guards, were King Heart and Queen Celestia. The captain of the guard saw the king and immediately reported the situation. The screams from the room could be heard loudly, disturbing the Equestrians trying to save her.
"Stand back!" Queen Celestia commanded.
The guards stood out of the way and drew their weapons. The queen casted an air ball and held it tightly, as she motions for it to bring down the door. The door blew open, and the guards rushed in the room. The cloaked men began to bring carry the princess down.
"Save my daughter!" the king shouted.
Several cloaked men created a defensive line to protect the abduction of the Equestrian princess. The cloaked men were fast and quickly attacked the guards. The guards were amazed at their graceful maneuvers as they tried to get behind them and disable them by either stabbing them in the back or cutting their legs. Two archers guard the three men trying to bring the princess down. Another cloaked man stood in the middle of balcony with his sword drawn.
"Captain!" the king shouted as he tries to make his way to his daughter. "Alert my son and tell him to search around the castle!"
"Yes your majesty!" the captain of the guard responded. He immediately left the fight and ran outside to alert the remnants of the castle.
Three of the cloaked men were killed in exchange for the deaths of six guards. A guard came charging to the cloaked man in the middle, but was shot by the archers. Another ran and was shot twice, but managed to attack the man in the middle. The cloaked man parries the attack and stabs him in the gut and pushing his body to the ground. Three guards came and noticed that the archers were providing cover, and attacked them. The archers were forced to drop their bows and pulled out their long knives to repel their attack. King Heart approaches the cloaked man. The man pulls down his hood and masked, revealing his identity.
"King Discord," said King Heart, scornfully.
King Discord smiles as he immediately rushes for the king. The king immediately motioned his hands to light his sword on fire, before the enemy king catches him with his guard down. Their blades met and the two fought hardly through the room. King Discord was fast in his attacks and pushed the king to the limits of his defense. King Discord caught King Heart off-guard when the kings sword came close. King Discord, trips the Equestrian king to drop to the ground. He was about to deliver a fatal blow from above, when Queen Celestia blows the enemy king away.
The equestrian royal guards immediately came to their king to defend him. The cloaked men came to the rescue of their own king.
"What are you doing here?" King Heart asked, pointing his flaming sword.
King Discord stood, struggling to stand, "What I should've done long ago," he says as he grunts.
The king charges the enemy with his guards, but were met with the cloaked men. King Discord slips away and jumps out of the balcony with his rope attached to the balcony. He hastily tries to touch the palace walls, hoping to slow his descent. His fall was fast and he drops to the ground. The two guards assists him up, but the king grunts in pain.
"I sprained my ankle during the descent and my left arm is dislocated," he looks at the mage. "How long is this fog going to last?"
"Not long," the mage replied.
Torches began to light outside the palace, and soldiers were on full alert. Lieutenant Dash, the first female royal guard officer escorts Prince Armor as they search for Princess Luna. The guards ran around the perimeter, checking every hole and space they, no matter the size if it could fit a person or not.
"Have my crusaders been alerted?" Prince Armor asked.
"Yes your highness," Lieutenant Dash replied. "They are mustering their arms and are searching the vicinity of the city. There is no way that they could get away with you sister."
Prince Armor nods his head, "Good. Make sure that the guards on the gates are doubled and that all entrances and exits in the city are closed. I won't allow those bastards to escape with my sister."
In front of them were four horses. The men from chaos galloped at the prince. The archers fired the crossbows from their horses that they had left before ascending the palace at the prince. Lieutenant Dash shields the prince with her shield and caught a bolt, but a guard was shot in the leg, defending the prince. King Discord's sword was covered in a black cloud that could poison a person once the sword scratches them. It could instantly kill within a few seconds.
He leads the escape, and the archer provided cover for the king and the princess. The guards tried to close the palace gates, but it was to late. The archers took out the guards by the ramparts, and the gate was widely opened for the soldiers of Chaos to escape. The men went through the small tight alleys to loose the guards and rode for a smaller gate, less susceptible to be a sign of escape. The soldier guarding it were only a dozen and never expected for the enemy to flee through their gate.
The enemy rode for the gate, and the archers provided distraction by firing their bolts and attacking the guards. They sacrificed themselves to open the gate for their king and mission to escape. Under the cover of the fog, King Discord and his mage escaped with Princess Luna. After a few moments, the news began to spread to the king.
King Heart was wearing his armor while walking to his horse, "My guards will try and track King Discord. Hopefully the fog lifts by then. In the meantime, I want you and your crusaders to start heading for the border with Chaos."
"Shall we call on the army?" Prince Armor asked.
"No," the king replied. "Your mother will send a message to everyone in the kingdom to begin to assemble their available forces and they will meet you by the border. "
"How about me father?" Princess Twilight asked.
King heart mounts his horse, then looks at his daughter. "No. You will stay here with your mother. The Mane Six will defend the capital while I search for your Luna," He looks around. "There could still be more of them hiding around here."
Prince Armor's horse was brought to him, along with a column of mounted Mark Crusaders. The prince mounted his horse.
"I'll see you at the border," said King Heart as he rides off with a squadron of royal guards. After a few moments, the prince and his company rode behind them.
In the forests near the city of Canterlot, King Discord and the mage tries to make their way through the border. Princess Luna was still unconscious and lies asleep on the lap of the dark mage.
"There will be six thousand Equestrian troops waiting for us at the border," said the mage.
"True," King Discord agreed. "But we have ten thousand men waiting for us, and the Republic of Tartarus are sending five legions of nine thousand men to support our invasion."
The mage looks at the princess, "It will take time for her to convert."
King Discord slowly looks at the mage, "It won't be long for the kingdom to declare war on itself."
