Chapters Chapter 1: Starswirl helps Cozy
After their reformation, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow begin their new lives as benevolent individuals. Chrysalis, who has gained a beautiful blue-green new form without any holes in her body, is co-ruling the Changeling kingdom alongside Thorax, and Cozy Glow and Tirek have been enrolled in the School of Friendship.
In the School of Friendship...
"That's all for today class", Starlight said. "You are now dismissed."
Every creature then left the classroom. Cozy Glow and Tirek went into their shared dorm room.
"Y'know, I've actually been enjoying this new life", Tirek told Cozy. "Maybe working alongside ponies is better than stealing their magic after all."
"And maybe actually befriending ponies is better than pretending to befriend them as well", Cozy told him. "Although..."
"Yes?", Tirek pondered.
"There's still something left to do...", Cozy said.
"And what would that be?", Tirek asked.
"Do you remember your brother Scorpan, the brother you said betrayed you?", Cozy asked him.
Tirek was caught off-guard by the mention of Scorpan. Now that he's reformed, he can understand why Scorpan chose to betray him and get him imprisoned in Tartarus, but he's still not to keen on the idea of reconciling with him.
"I do remember him", Tirek said. "But I'm not sure if I want to reconnect with him. We don't even know if he's still alive!"
"I'll find out soon", Cozy reassured him.
Meanwhile, at the Changeling kingdom, Cadance has arrived to meet up with Chrysalis.
"I know what you've come here for", said Chrysalis sadly. "I'm deeply sorry for all the atrocious things I did to you, Cadance, and I understand if you want to punish me."
"I'm not here to punish you, Chrysalis", Cadance replied. "I just wanted to invite you to Flurry's first birthday!"
Chrysalis was completely caught off-guard. The pony who she had imprisoned in the Canterlot caves, the pony whom she had attempted to steal the love of her life from, the pony whom she had imprisoned in a cocoon, the pony whom she had let Tirek steal magic from and imprison inside a cage in Grogar's lair, was inviting her for her daughter's first birthday.
"R-really?", Chrysalis stuttered.
"Yup! Shining and Flurry would love to have you! It's in two days, by the way", Cadance happily said.
"They w-would?", Chrysalis said in confusion.
"Of course!", Cadance insisted.
"But why? After everything I did to you and them?", Chrysalis asked.
"I'm the Princess of Love, Chrysalis! I'm not one to hold grudges!", Cadance responded.
"Oh, makes sense then", Chrysalis began to tear up. "Thank you, Cadance. I'll make sure to be there, and I'll also make sure that Flurry's first birthday goes perfectly to make up for nearly ruining your wedding to Shining Armor."
"I know you will", said Cadance happily as she left the Changeling kingdom.
Meanwhile, Rare Find, the first pony to have had his magic stolen by Tirek upon his first return from Tartarus, is walking down a Canterlot alley when he bumps into Tirek, knocking both of them to the ground.
"I-I'm so sorry! P-please don't hurt me or steal my magic again!", Rare Find fearfully pleaded, but Tirek didn't even recognize him.
"Who are you?", Tirek asked, genuinely confused.
Rare Find realized that Tirek indeed meant no harm, or so it seemed, so he calmed down a bit, but was still shivering.
"I-I'm the first pony you stole magic from when you first escaped from Tartarus. You told me you were no friend, and that you were going to take what should have been yours long ago", Rare Find replied.
Hearing that, Tirek finally realized who Rare Find was.
"I-I'm so sorry. I've turned over a new leaf, I promise. Would you like to help me make it up to those I've harmed, such as yourself?", Tirek asked.
Rare Find could sense that Tirek truly did mean no harm.
"O-Of course. I'm Rare Find, by the way", Rare Find replied.
"Thank you", Tirek said before leaving.
Rare Find was relieved. Tirek truly did mean no harm, and Rare Find was willing to forgive him.
As for Cozy Glow, she entered Canterlot castle where she had found Twilight, who had indeed become the new ruler of Equestria.
"Princess Twilight", Cozy said. "I need your help."
"No need for such formalities, Cozy. I forgive you", Twilight said. "What is it that you need my help for?"
"Well, I need Starswirl the Bearded's help to find Tirek's brother Scorpan", Cozy told her. "I thought that, since Starswirl is one of the ponies Scorpan befriended and possesses extremely powerful magic, it would be best to have him help me find Scorpan, because I want him and Tirek to reconcile."
Twilight found Cozy's desire to find Scorpan a bit strange, but she was nontheless willing to help her.
"I will contact Starswirl and get him to help you soon, Cozy", Twilight reassured her. "I will also tell him to meet up with you at the School of Friendship."
"Thank you, Twilight", Cozy said gratefully before leaving the Canterlot castle.
Later, Cozy Glow had returned to her and Tirek's shared dorm room in the School of Friendship. She was reading a book, when somepony knocked at the door. She opened it, thinking it was Starswirl, but it turned out to be Sandbar instead, disappointing her a bit.
"Hey, Cozy. I just wanted to let you know that I forgive you for making all of Equestria's magic fail and helping Tirek steal my earth pony essence", Sandbar said.
"Thank you very much, Sandbar. But is that the only reason why you decided to go to my dorm room?", Cozy asked teasingly.
"Yeah, it is", Sandbar admitted.
Somepony else knocked at the door. Once Cozy Glow opened it, it was indeed Starswirl the Bearded, whom she had been waiting for. Sandbar recognized Starswirl as the pony he portrayed for Princess Celestia's (well, she's retired) 1111th anniversary from when she first raised the sun.
"Hello, Cozy", Starswirl greeted. "Twilight told me a lot about you, and I hear you wanted my help to find Scorpan. I know of a spell that can track him down, but the land he lives in is very far. Do you still wish to find him?"
"Yes, so he can reconcile with Tirek", Cozy replied.
"You are a good friend, Cozy, and I am willing to help you", Starswirl told her.

Chapter 2: Starting the mission
That evening, Cozy Glow and Starswirl were standing before the Friendship Express. They brought camping materials with them.
"Is the train going to take us straight to Scorpan's homeland?", Cozy asked.
"Unfortunately not", Starswirl replied. "The train can only take us closer to his homeland, which is so far not even my teleportation power can instantly teleport us there."
"Oh", Cozy Glow said in disappointment. "Well, it'll be worth it if it means Tirek and Scorpan will reconcile."
Just then, the train arrived, and Cozy Glow and Starswirl boarded it.
Meanwhile, at the School of Friendship, Tirek is sadly sitting in his and Cozy's dorm room.
Suddenly, someone knocked at the door.
"Come in", Tirek said.
Ocellus came into the room.
"Tirek, where's Cozy? I wanted to speak with her", Ocellus told Tirek.
"She's on a mission with Starswirl the Bearded to find my brother in his homeland", Tirek replied.
"Tirek, is something troubling you? I can see it", said Ocellus.
Tirek let out a sigh.
"I just can't believe it, Ocellus. One second I'm an ancient evil bent on conquering Equestria, the next I'm a student in the School of Friendship making friends with you and the other Young Six. It's all happening too fast for me. And while I now have friends, Cozy Glow is the only one I can truly confide to, and now she's gone", said Tirek.
"Well, you're confiding to me", Ocellus replied. "And Cozy Glow won't be gone forever, once she comes back with your brother, you'll be nothing but happy."
"Thank you, Ocellus. And can you inform Chrysalis about the mission Cozy Glow is on?", said Tirek.
"Of course, Tirek", said Ocellus.
In the train, Cozy Glow and Starswirl continued to talk.
"I hope this trip won't be too long", remarked Cozy Glow.
"I hope to see my friend Scorpan again soon as well", said Starswirl.
The train continued to move.
2 days later, it was Flurry Heart's birthday. Shining Armor, Cadance, Twilight, Night Light, Twilight Velvet, the Main Six, Starlight, Sunburst, Discord, Chrysalis, Tirek, Thorax, the Changelings, and even the retired Celestia and Luna, along with various other ponies, were all gathered in the Crystal Empire to celebrate her first birthday.
"Happy birthday to you
Everyone cheered. Flurry Heart blew out the candles, which were previously lit up by Chrysalis.
Chrysalis transformed into a toy changeling for Flurry Heart to play with as every creature watching just about died of adorableness. Chrysalis transformed back into her original form.
"It's a shame Cozy Glow couldn't be here", remarked Chrysalis.
"Indeed it is. I hope she'll be okay", replied Tirek.
Elsewhere, Cozy Glow and Starswirl have set up a campsite for them to stay in at the moment.
"It's going to take forever to find Scorpan, but I won't give up", Cozy Glow insisted.
"We will find him soon, Cozy", Starswirl reassured her.
"It's also a shame I had to miss Princess Flurry Heart's first birthday", said Cozy Glow.
"I wished I could be there as well", said Starswirl.
"But anyways, good night Starswirl", said Cozy.
"Good night, Cozy", said Starswirl.
The next morning, Cozy Glow and Starswirl continued their quest to find Scorpan. The campsite they stayed in was a bit uncomfortable, but it nontheless wasn't awful.
"Are we at Scorpan's homeland yet?", asked Cozy.
"No, we aren't. But it shouldn't be far", responded Starswirl.
Cozy Glow and Starswirl continued walking.
At the Changeling kingdom, Tirek is visiting Chrysalis.
"Hello, Tirek. It's so good to see you!", began Chrysalis. "What have you come here for?"
"It's good to see you as well, Chrysalis. I wanted to talk to you about Cozy Glow's self-imposed mission to find my brother", replied Tirek.
"What about it?", asked Chrysalis.
"What if something happens to her on the way there? Then I'll lose the first friend I ever made!", replied Tirek.
"Nothing will happen to Cozy Glow. Starswirl the Bearded, the most powerful unicorn to have ever lived, is there to supervise her", Chrysalis reassured Tirek.
"But what if she does find my brother, and he doesn't want to reconcile with me and instead wants to destroy me!? Or what if he reverted back to evil and wants to destroy Equestria!? And destroyed Cozy Glow and Starswirl the moment he saw them!?", panicked Tirek.
"Now Tirek, I'm sure it'll be fine. Cozy Glow and Starswirl will find Scorpan, reunite him with you, and the two of you can reconcile", Chrysalis continued to reassure him.
"Yes, I-I'm sure you're right, Chrysalis", said Tirek.
Another two days later, Cozy Glow and Starswirl have FINALLY arrived at Scorpan's homeland.
"Wow, this journey was really exausting. At least we're finally here", remarked Cozy Glow. "But how will we find Scorpan?"
Starswirl casted a bright light from his horn.
"The brighter this light is, the closer we are to Scorpan. But if we get further away from him, the light will get dimmer and dimmer", replied Starswirl. "I will be able to sense when we have arrived at his home."
"You made me worry even more", said Cozy.
Starswirl was confused.
"And why is that?", asked Starswirl.
"I was being sarcastic, Starswirl. Thank you", replied Cozy Glow.
"Hmm, okay", said Starswirl.
The two of them continued their jouney and kept walking (with Cozy Glow hovering above the air). After hours of searching and searching, with the light from Starswirl's horn taking various degrees of brightness. Sometimes it would be blindingly bright, sometimes it would be really dim, but no matter how bright or not bright the light was, it told both Starswirl and Cozy exactly how close they were to finding Scorpan.
As the sun began to set, the two of them came across a medium-sized house.
"I can sense that this house is where Scorpan is inhabiting. However, I must admit that I am very nervous", admitted Starswirl.
"I am too, but we have to reunite him with Tirek. I'll send a letter to Tirek after talking to Scorpan", said Cozy Glow.
"Okay, here goes nothing I suppose", Starswirl stated as he nervously knocked on the door of Scorpan's house.
The house's owner opened the door. And sure enough, the owner was none other than the gargoyle himself: Scorpan, glaring down at Starswirl and Cozy Glow.

Chapter 3: Hey Scorpan, wanna be friends?
After Starswirl knocked on the door of Scorpan's house, Scorpan himself opened the door, glaring down at his visitors: Starswirl and Cozy Glow.
"Starswirl!?", began Scorpan.
"Indeed Scorpan. Long time no see", said Starswirl.
"Starswirl! It's been a thousand years! I've missed you so much! Who is this adorable little filly next to you?", asked Scorpan.
Cozy Glow rolled her eyes while giving off a small smirk.
"She's my friend as well", said Starswirl. "We're here to-"
"Not yet, Starswirl", said Cozy Glow. "I need to get to know him first."
Cozy Glow, Scorpan, and Starswirl were later sitting together on a couch. Starswirl had explained to Scorpan where he was the past thousand years.
"So that's where you've been all this time?", asked Scorpan.
Starswirl nodded his head.
"From what I've heard, you're Lord Tirek's brother who came with him to conquer Equestria but soon came to appreciate the ponies' lifestyle. You couldn't get Tirek to halt his plans, so you had to warn Celestia and Luna of his intentions and get him imprisoned in Tartarus. Is that correct?", Cozy Glow asked.
Scorpan was shocked that Cozy Glow knew about his origins, and was visibly uncomfortable at the mention of Tirek.
"Yes, it is true", responded Scorpan.
"Well, I myself have served as Tirek's accomplice, but I turned over a new leaf. You may not believe this, Scorpan, but Tirek turned over a new leaf as well, and the reason Starswirl and I came here was to get you and Tirek to reconcile. Are you willing to make amends with Tirek?", Cozy Glow said.
Scorpan was shocked, but nontheless extremely happy that Tirek turned over a new leaf. However, he had to ask Starswirl if what she's saying is true.
"Is she telling the truth?", asked Scorpan.
"Yes, she very much is telling the truth", replied Starswirl.
"Err, I'm ecstatic that my brother reformed like I did, but I'm not completely sure I'm willing to reconnect with him", said Scorpan.
"That's what Tirek told me before I went on this mission, but I told him that he'll be nothing but happy when the two of you reconciled. C'mon, don't make our trip go to waste!", said Cozy Glow.
Scorpan took a deep breath.
"Okay, I am willing to make amends with my brother Tirek", said Scorpan.
Meanwhile, Tirek was seeking solace in the remains of Grogar's lair. He was still unsure if Cozy Glow and Starswirl had found Scorpan yet, and therefore remained worried. Suddenly, a letter literally flew next to him. He started reading it, and it wrote:
"Hi, Tirek. This is Cozy Glow. I'm exited to inform you that Starswirl and I have successfully found Scorpan, and he is willing to reconnect with you! Isn't that great!? The two of us went on a long journey, so Scorpan let us stay at his house for a few days, but when we return home with Scorpan, the two of you will finally be able to reconcile!
Yours truly, Cozy Glow"
Back in Scorpan's house, Scorpan is showing Starswirl and Cozy Glow the rooms they'll be temporarily staying in. Starswirl's room was large but empty and had only one window, while Cozy Glow's room was small but had five windows. Regardless, they didn't mind it that much and agreed to stay in those rooms for a few days.
The next morning, at the Changeling kingdom, Tirek was showing the letter Cozy Glow sent him to Chrysalis.
"I can't believe it", began Tirek. "Cozy Glow and Starswirl the Bearded actually found my brother!"
"That's amazing!", said Chrysalis. "Though, is everything okay? You don't seem completely happy."
"No I'm fine. It's just that... I'm still worried that Scorpan still hasn't forgiven me", Tirek said.
"Don't be silly, Tirek", Chrysalis chided. "Cozy Glow said it herself in her letter, Scorpan is willing to reconnect with you. Just you wait, soon, you and Scorpan are going to be so happy to be reunited that you'll tell all sorts of stories to each other."
"You've changed a lot since when you were evil, haven't you?", remarked Tirek.
Chrysalis giggled. "I suppose."
After staying at Scorpan's house for 6 days, it was finally time for Cozy Glow and Starswirl to take Scorpan back to Equestria so he can reconcile with Tirek. They left Scorpan's homeland, set up camp at night when they haven't reached Equestria yet, and are boarding a train back to Ponyville.
"I'm still not entirely sure about reconciling with Tirek", said Scorpan. "What if he's still mad at me for betraying him?"
"Scorpan... you did what you had to do. Tirek didn't realize that at first and considered you to be weak-minded for letting your friendship with me and the other Equestrian ponies change you, but he understands now, and while he himself is nervous about the two of you reconciling, he's willing to make amends with you", said Starswirl.
"Besides, I spoke to Tirek. He's actually nervous that YOU won't forgive him and want to reconnect with him. I'm sure it'll be fine, Scor, and when you're reunited with Tirek, the two of you will be incredibly happy to see each other again. You can tell Tirek what you've been up to in your homeland for a thousand years, and he can tell you how he attempted to take over Equestria alongside me and Queen Chrysalis before turning over a new leaf", explained Cozy Glow.
"Yes, I-I'm sure you're right, Cozy", said Scorpan nervously.
The trip back to Ponyville took 4 days, just as much as the time it took for Cozy Glow and Starswirl to arrive at Scorpan's homeland. This meant that Cozy Glow and Starswirl have been on this mission for 2 weeks, and they're exited to meet with their friends back in Equestria again.
Eventually, Cozy Glow and Starswirl have returned to the Friendship Express, going off the train alongside Scorpan.
"So... where is Tirek?", asked Scorpan.
"I'll send a letter to him telling him to come here", said Cozy Glow.
A few hours later, Tirek arrived at the Friendship Express, where he and Scorpan saw each other for the first time in a thousand years.

Chapter 3.5: Confessing the "Mean 6" incident to Twilight
In Canterlot castle, the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle herself, was having her breakfast.
"Princess Twilight, Queen Chrysalis has requested your presence. She would like to confess to you something", a Royal Guard told her.
"Thank you, tell her to bring the matter to the throne room. I will meet with her there", Twilight replied.
Later, Twilight and Chrysalis were meeting with each other in the throne room.
"Twilight, in light of Cozy Glow and Starswirl having reunited Scorpan with Tirek, I would like to confess to you something", Chrysalis said.
"What is it?", Twilight curiously asked.
"Well, months ago, I had visited you and the other Mane Six disguised as a photographer at the School of Friendship, where I took strands of your hair to create evil copies of you called the "Mean Six" so they can take the Elements of Harmony and use them against you and Starlight Glimmer. Unfortunately for me, my plan failed when your "Mean" equivalent turned against me and the Tree of Harmony destroyed the Mean Six because they didn't represent the Elements", Chrysalis explained.
"I remember that incident! It's okay though Chrysalis, I forgive you. In fact, I think I should thank you for creating an incident that brought me closer to my friends", Twilight said.
"Oh, really? I didn't expect it to be that way, then", Chrysalis asked as she giggled. "Well, thank you Twilight. And goodbye."
"Goodbye", Twilight said.
Chrysalis flew out of the Canterlot castle.
