A new story.Actually a side story based on "Solar Son"by Sword Master.Special Shout out to Sword Master.For letting me use his OC.Prince Solar Ignition Flare.And The New Blood.As well as With out his approval.This story wouldn't be possible.Thank You Very Much Sword Master.I hope you and many others enjoy this story.

So here we go.With Chapter 1.

Chapter 1.Crime Scene.

April 2000.

Los Angeles Ca.USA.Earth.
North Hollywood.

A house located just off of Victory Blvd,was the scene of a horrific murder.This murder was a top priority.L.A.P.D. was on the scene.The victim was inside the house.Outside.Uniformed officers were posted at the front and back door.To keep out the press,as well as nosy residents.Black and Whites and The Coroners van and SID were in front.Crime scene tape was around the front yard.

An unmarked Ford Crown Victoria pulled up,and 2 detectives exited the car and walked up to the scene.After showing their badges to the 2 uniformed officers at the front door,the detectives,Pete Miller and Ignacio)Nacho) Rojas walked in and saw what looked liked something out of a slasher movie.

The body of a male was found cut into pieces.The legs were found on a reclining chair in the living room.The torso was on the couch.The arms were on the coffee table.The head was on the end table.And there was so much blood,splatter on the walls.Pools of blood on the floor.

As Miller and Rojas walked around.They saw Rachel Webber and Gil Zepeda from SID and her assistants gathering forensic evidence.And Don Chu from The Coroners Office was examing the body parts.

Miller looked at one of the uniformed officers and asked,"What happened??"

The officer replied,"Well.As far as I know.We have a white male,late 20s,early 30s,cut to pieces."

Zapeda came up and said,"Detectives.We have an ID on the victim.Henry Wilkins.31.Worked as a research scientist.At Valley Hospital near Van Nuys."

Miller said,"OK.And what did this to him??"

Chu replied,"I don't know,but my best guess.Some kind of blade,like a sword maybe.I'll know more when I get him on my table."

Rojas said,"Hey amigo.Take a look at this."

They looked at the wall and saw a messege written in blood.

"THE BLOOD IS THE COST OF BETRAYAL"

Rojas then asked,"What do you suppose this means??"

Miller replied,"It looks like this was some kind of ritual sacrifice.Judging by the way the body was cut up."

Just then another uniformed officer came from the back of the house and said,"Detectives.Something you need to see.In the bedroom."

Miller and Rojas walked in the bedroom and saw a photo of a woman on the dresser and in the next room was set up for a baby.With a crib,diaper changing table,stuffed toys and more baby things.

Rojas then asked,"OK man.So where is the wife and baby??"

Miller replied,"I don't know,but this is certain.She is either a suspect,or."

Rojas asked,"Or what??"

Miller sighed and replied,"Or,we may have two more victims to find."

Miller and Rojas went to the parents of Henry Wilkins,to make the notification.The mother was devistated,the father became numb.

A few days later Miller and Rojas were at their desks in The Robbery-Homicide Division at Parker Center.They had just come back from The Coroners Office on North Mission Road in Lincoln Heights.Don Chu was correct.The victim Henry Wilikins was cut up with a sword.And died from blood loss.The body being cut up was also actually pre-mortem.Miller and Rojas both thought the killer was indeed barbaric.

Both detectives were looking over the crime scene photos and drinking coffee.

Rojas said,"Whoever killed The Wilkins guy.I think he may have enjoyed his time and taunted the victim as he was killing him."

Miller replied,"Yeah,but whats up with the writing on the wall in blood.It kinda reminds me of "The Tate-Lobianco Murders commited by Charles Manson's followers in the 60s."

Rojas then said,Maybe he and his wife belonged to a cult or something.

Then Captain Ken Foreman walked in and was briefed.

Foreman asked,Any word on the wife or the kid??

Miller replied.The kid aint here yet.According to the neighbors.The wife name Debbie is 8 months pregnant right now.

Rojas then said And nothing from area hospitals on her or the baby.

Miller then said,And I put out an APB and a BOLO Not just for L.A.County,but Orange,Riverside,San Bernardino,San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties.And so far,zip.

Foreman said,Well.If you don't get anything in the next 24 hours.Send it to Cold Case.You have other investigations to conduct.

Miller and Rojas worked the case for another day,but no new leads came in.The case was now cold.Miller was at his desk.He decided to go home to his wife June,and 10 year old son Tim,but he would continue to work the case if any new leads came in.

About a month and a half later.Pete had found out that the victims family had decided to sell off everything he owned.Pete went on his day off to the estate sale,and met with Mr Wilkins.As Pete was looking around,he saw an unusual object on display.It didn't look like anything he ever saw in his life.Something inside of Pete told him,he should take this object.

Pete asked,Mr.Wilkins.What do you know about this thing?

Mr.Wilkins replied,I don't really know.I asked my son.He said it was just something that he bought in a flea market in Pasadena.Why,Do you want it??

Pete said,If it's allright.I'll buy it right now.How much?

Mr Wilkins thought for a moment and said,You can have it for $20.00 I just want it gone.

Pete said,Sold.and pulled out his wallet and paid.

Pete then went home and packed a bag.His cop instincts told him that this was not something to keep at home,but hidden away.To keep June and Tim safe.Thankfully June and Tim were at her parents house in Santa Ana in Orange County for the weekend.

After packing a bag.Pete drove up to his fathers hunting cabin up in Big Bear,stopping at a General Store for some food and supplies.After he got to the cabin.Pete entered and sat at the table.And opened the box he put the object.An amulet that looked like a black alicorn.Pete noticed that the wings could unfold.As Pete unfolded the wings,a jewel in the center shot a beam,which opened a portal to another world.Pete looked at it for several minutes before closing the wings to close the portal.

Pete couldn't believe his eyes,then he had a thought,"What if.What if Debbie Wilikns and her baby went through this portal and ended up on wherever the other side is??"

Pete knew he couldn't report this to The L.A.P.D. brass.They would think he was crazy,or they would notify the feds who would take it for research and it would never be seen again.Pete knew he had to hide the amulet,but where.He thought.Then Pete saw it,like a beacon.He saw his old "ADAM-12"Lunchbox from when he was a kid."ADAM-12"was Pete's favorite TV show growing up.It was the expolits of Officer Pete Malloy (Martin Milner)and his partner Officer Jim Reed (Kent McCord) that inspired Pete to join The L.A.P.D. himself.

Pete opened the TV show themed lunch box and found the thermos that cam with it.Pete opened it and it was clean.Pete then put the amulet in an envelope and placed the object in side and closed the lid,then wrote 2 letters,one went into the lunchbox.Pete then closed it and put it on the shelf.Pete then thought,"The best way to hide something.Hide it in plain sight."

The next day.Pete drove back to Los Angeles and went to a law firm located at Arco Plaza on Flower Street in Downtown.Pete then saw the lawyer he wanted to see.Ken Gilman.Who Pete grew up with in Eagle Rock,when they were kids.In fact they were like brothers.

Gilman walked into the lobby and hugged Pete and said,"Pete.How's it going man?"

Pete replied,"Everythings good."

Gilman asked,"How are June and Tim."

Pete replied,June is good.Tim is getting bigger all the time.Say do you have a few minutes?I need a favor."

Gilman replied,"Sure man.Come on in."

As Pete and Gilman and spoke in his office.Pete handed him an envelope.And told him what he wanted Gilman to do.

Pete said,I want you to give this to Tim.If anything should happen to me.

Gilman asked,Is everything OK Pete?

Pete replied,What?Oh yeah man.I'm just being prepared,you know just in case.I'll pay whatever you want.

Gilman replied,No way man.This is on the house.I'll take care of it.

Pete said,Thanks buddy.Well I gotta go.June and Tim will be home in a couple of hours,See ya Ken.

The 2 friends shook hands.And Pete went home,to see June and Tim.And get ready for work on Monday.
