Chapter 1-A beautiful day outside

Shortly after the Nightmare Moon incident, ponies started to think they could maintain peace for awhile. They could not have been more incorrect. Twilight awoke to the beautiful sunlight shining through the circular window of her hollowed tree she called home. As she brought herself to her hooves she noticed that her purple and green colored dragon, Spike, was nowhere to be found.

"Where's Spike?", she spoke softly to herself while proceeding downstairs. As the purple-coated pony attempted to open the front door of her tree, Spike crashed through the door to knock Twilight back into one of her many bookshelves-scattering books in the nearby area.

"Twilight! You have to see this! There's a giant hole filled with coffee in the center of Ponyville; it takes up over sixty percent of the entire area!", Spike anxiously stated to Twilight. Twilight swiftly climbed out of the piles of scattered books and sprinted out of her home with Spike following closely behind.

When they both arrived at the massive pool of coffee, a crowd of ponies had already gathered. Every member of the cutie mark crusaders were present, as well as the rest of the mane six-except for Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Every pony happened to be discussing the issue with one another. To put this frankly, every pony in Ponyville was included in this crowd, except those two. Twilight quickly surveyed the crowd, looking for signs of the Princesses; with all the commotion going on the Princesses should've noticed that something was off by now.

After a brief moment, Twilight heard a stallion saying, "You're the only one who would cause something like this to happen!"

Twilight looked towards the stallion to see a portion of the crowd surrounding Pinkie Pie, accusing her of causing the massive pool of coffee to appear. Twilight stepped into the conversation, squeezing through the group.

"Pinkie would never do something like this!" The group around them got even angrier, closing in on the two mares. Just as the stallion tried to grab Pinkie, a mare's voice echoed over the crowd.

"Now just hold on!", an orange-coated and blonde-maned mare, commonly known as Applejack, butted in to the conversation as she made her way to the group. "What makes y'all think Pinkie had something to do with this?", she added. The stallion turned to answer Applejack.

"Her name is engraved near the rim of the pool of coffee and who else would have enough sweetener to sweeten that much coffee?", the stallion explained. Pinkie, Twilight, and Applejack all looked at each other, confused, before looking back towards the stallion.

"Where is her name engraved exactly?", Twilight requested. The stallion led them around the rim in a clockwise motion, until stopping at a small carving in the ground reading, Please return to us, our beloved Queen, Pinkamena Diane Pie..
Pinkie rubbed her hoof vertically across the left side of her head, confused. She couldn't remember being the Queen of any kingdom she knew. To Twilight, the answer was obvious; somepony clearly wanted to get Pinkie into trouble, but who would do such a thing? She kept trying to think of a person, but before she could bubbles started to emerge from the pool of coffee. The huge crowd of ponies watched as numerous, giant brown tentacles started to emerge from the pool of coffee. Each tentacle happened to be around 400 feet in length, so escape was almost impossible. For a second, Twilight thought she could just teleport away. However, she noticed the tentacles were decorated with gems. "They're enchanted with gems that disable magic!", Twilight shouted in fear. The tentacles started to rip houses out of the ground and pull them into the pool of coffee, along with every pony in the surrounding area.

"Let's make a break for it!", the stallion persuaded some ponies. As they tried to escape the area, a vexing twister brewed around the area. Twilight and Pinkie looked at each other, concerned expressions on their faces; it was at this moment, they knew, they bucked up. Suddenly, a tentacle grabbed Pinkie by her tail and started to drag her to the pool of coffee.

"Twilight!", Pinkie screamed in terror. Twilight grabbed Pinkie's fore-hooves and tried to pull her up from the rim, but failed. They both fell into the pool. Applejack searched for the cutie mark crusaders and Rarity-who decided to watch them for the day; Sweetie Belle convinced her to. As Applejack continues to search through the twister, a flying apple hits her with enough force to render her unconscious. The twister then carried her over the pool where a tentacle grabbed her and pulled her under the surface of the pool of coffee.

(Fluttershy's house, same time as Applejack is pulled in)

"It's a beautiful day outside; birds are singing, flowers are blooming. On days like this-", Fluttershy was interrupted as Rainbow Dash spit out her hot tea. "Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention the tea was hot.", Fluttershy apologized while walking over to Rainbow Dash-who had her jaw dropped and kept staring out of the window.

"Not that-we need to get to Ponyville fast!", Rainbow pointed out before darting out the door with Fluttershy trying to keep up with the extremely fast pegasus in front of her. As Fluttershy lay eyes on the twister, she gives off a deer-in-the-headlight look. As the two ponies approach the twister, Rainbow gets hit with debris. As Rainbow disappears into the twister, Fluttershy goes after her. Trying her best to avoid the debris, she penetrates the large twister-only to be grabbed by one of the tentacles. The tentacle pulls her under so quickly, she couldn't let out a cry for help. With Ponyville devastated and with every pony in the coffee-filled abyss, the twister fades and the tentacles disappear into the pool of coffee. However, the pool of coffee itself remains. Yet, somehow, Spike managed to evade the massive tentacles and the twister by running to Princess Celestia's castle during this tragedy. As he tried to catch his breath from running so much, Spike noticed the emptiness of Ponyville.

"Where is everypony? First the Princesses aren't at the castle, now this", Spike remembered about the pool of coffee. He had run so much, he forgot all about it. He continues to stare at it. "It has to be something to do with this giant pool of coffee", Spike suggested. "Well, at least the guards are on their way...", Spike added, staring at his reflection in the coffee. "Maybe I should check around Ponyville. They probably just got bored staring at coffee", Spike suggested, continuing to search for his friends.
