As Equestria tries to survive the hottest summer in over a century, Twilight Sparkle and her friends are called in to help as bodies are found across the nation. But these are not ordinary murders.

Some have been skinned alive and strung up like hunting trophies, while others have had their skull and spine removed. Nothing seems to connect them except one thing.

No one saw what or who did it, even those who saw it happen.

As the body count rises, Twilight and her friends discover that this new foe is something that is not of this world.
