Octavia shut her door behind her. It had been a long night, and she had longed for the comfort of her home to rest her aching hooves. Of course it would all be ruined if her partying roommate was oding on the floor again. Octavia had warned that wubb-loving equine about the X. Not that she could be heard over that horrible pile of notes and sounds that her roommate called music.
She stepped into the living room. Luckily, her roommate wasn’t twitching on the floor.
“Hey, Tav~” the white and blue pony grinned. “Glad you’re home. I was wondering when my dinner was going to be made.”
“I’ve told you several times, Vinyl. I am not your cook. You must learn to cook for yourself. Honestly.” she grunted and sat next to her roommate.
“Yeah,yeah.” Vinyl rolled her eyes. “So, hey. Pinkie invited me to this party, but she said to bring a friend and she also said something about it being a fancy pants party. So...you in?”
“I most certainly am not!” she spat. “That pink, pouncing, party pony throws the most uncivil parties! I refuse both her and your invitation.”
Vinyl groaned. “Ah....come on, Tav! Live a little! I still have to bring a friend and I can’t think of any other pony who would-”
“And that’s another thing!” she interrupted. “I am not your friend! I am your roommate, and nothing more. Okay?”
“That hurts, Tav.”
“And stop calling me that!”
“I’ll stop if you go to the party with me.” she grinned. “Come ooooooooon...”
“Shut up.” Octavia turned on the T.V.
“Pleeeeeaaassse~?”
“No.”
Pleeeaassse?”
“NO.”
“Pretty please with wheat sprinkles on top?”
“NO.” Octavia’s eye twitched. She was sick of this already. The white mare continued to beg and beg. “Fine! Fine. I’ll go. If it’ll shut you up.” she growled under her breath.
“Sure, sure.” she pony leaned back. She had quite the smug look on her face.

The taxi pulled up to the house at last. It was a large house. Four times the size of any house in Ponyville. Octavia could not even begin to imagine why Pinkie had held it so far out of town as she stepped out of the cart, following Vinyl.
“Aww yeah! This’ll be killer.” she grinned to her not-friend.
“Whatever. Let’s just get this messy night over with.”
“Do you think there’s going to be an orgy?” Vinyl asked Octavia as they trotted up to the house.
Octavia knocked on the door and then stared at her friend. “I used to think your drug abuse was the worst thing about you. Used to.”
The door opened. Spike stood at the door. He was wearing a small tuxedo. Vinyl and Octavia looked down at him.
“Ah, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia. You were both expected.” he bowed and opened the door more, as to let the two musical equines in. Vinyl made her way in and Octavia followed.
“How could they be expecting the both of us? I thought she only invited you.”
Vinyl shrugged. “I ‘unno. Maybe she was expecting you to be the person I asked to come.” she stopped walking. “Hey..Do you smell that?”
Octavia sniffed the air. The smell of cakes and chocolate and pies and many other sweet thing that ponies enjoyed filled the air with an intoxicating aroma. “Why, yes. I do. And it smells..delightful.” her mouth watered slightly. “I say, Vinyl. You said this was a formal party. Why aren’t you dressed in anything so? And furthermore, why aren’t you wearing anything at all?”
“Pfft. If I wore something snooty then this party would be a downer.”
“Yes but I don’t quite see why you couldn’t have at least-” Octavia was cut off by a ringing dinner bell. Both of the ponies blinked at eachother and walked into the room which the sound had originated from. To both of their surprises, it was a dinner party. Though it was much to Octavia’s delight, and not much to the delight of her not-friend. But something had put both of them off from sitting at the long, clear table in front of them.
The other ponies.
They were all familiar looking in some way. But neither of them could quite but a hoof on who was who. Everypony was dressed in a strange costume. And all of them had a mask on. However it was clear to the both of them that the pony sitting at the end of the table was none other than their pink, pouncing, party pony host. Whom stood in her seat and smiled at them.
“Octavia, I’m glad it was you Vinyl decided to invite. Please. Do sit down.”
Octavia was shocked to hear Pinkie speaking normal English. she decided to sit down. She sat in between a mint coloured unicorn, and a light yellow earth pony with quite curly looking hair. Both seemed familiar to her, but she didn’t strike up any sort of conversation.
“What about me? Don’t I get a seat? And what’s with the table, why isn’t there any food on it? You have all the plates and stuff.” she narrowed her eyes at Pinkie Pie. “What’s going on?”
A blue pegasus with an angry expression, and a grey pony with paper bags on her hooves and a bag on her head, with holes cut into it to show off her slightly odd eyes, grabbed Vinyl and lifted her up into the air. Octavia’s jaw dropped slightly as she watched.
“Put me down, you sons of-” the pegasi dropped her onto the table. “Omph!”
“I’m sure the Apples would love to the pleasure.” Pinkie grinned.
“Eyup.” a rather large, red stallion climbed onto the table. He reared himself. Octavia’s eyes widened and she covered them with her hooves. She couldn’t bare to watch. Vinyl only had the time to look up at the horse’s hooves coming down on her head. Octavia pulled her hooves away from her eyes. She was covered in small bits of Vinyl’s grey matter and blood. She gagged.
“Over nice and quick, ain’t that right~?” Pinkie chirped.
“Eyup.” the stallion nodded, getting down and sitting in his seat.
“Alright everypony! Dig in!” Pinkie grinned.
