The Wedding
It had been over a month, but it was finally time. It was finally the day of the wedding of the bearers of the elements of harmony, Lady Starlight, and Trixie, to Sir Spike the hero of the crystal empire.
The day was beautiful that thanks to the alicorn sisters making sure that the Canterlot weather team was on their top game for the royal wedding. The sun was shining with just enough clouds to negative and harsh rays. The birds were singing, and there weren’t as many racist protesters at the gate as one would expect.
Oh , there were some, voicing their disdain over a dragon marrying an equestrian royal; but for the most part the royal guard were doing a great job of chasing them off. Especially the crystal guard who were venomous in their actions to make sure nothing ruined their hero's wedding day. It also helped that both Ember and Thorax bought some of their guards to help with the event. Many ponies unhappy with the idea of pony princess on relations were also less willing to shout their beliefs about dragons while large heavily armed dragon warriors were around. Something the changeling guards quickly noticed and took advantage of by changing to dragons themselves.
But that was only what was going on on the outside of Canterlot's Castle, on the inside guests were taking their seats. Family, friends, students, and foreign dignitaries were all among the large number of guests present. The whole apple family was there, taking up a good number of seats, and so were the parents of the bride’s. Night Light and Shining Armor were busy getting their crying out before the wedding started while Princess Celestia got ready to marry the herd.
Spike was waiting at the altar with butterflies in stomach, he had never been so nervous yet happy at the same time in his entire life. The hardest part was keeping his wings under control. Which kept flapping on their own due to his nerves. Every second that passed felt like an hour and he couldn't wait till it was over.
Thankfully he didn't have to wait too long as soon the cutie mark crusaders came skipping down the aisle in their adorable flower filly outfits. Leaving a trail of multicolored flower petals behind them. While the young fillies did look cute the real beauties were following behind them, Spike's eight brides.
Each one was wearing a dress hoof made by Rarity, colored a light shade of their respective coat, and adorned with sequence in the form of their cutie mark cutie marks along the bottom. Giving each a unique look despite being made so similar to one another.
Spike could swear that both of his hearts skipped a beat at once we he saw them, and the butterflies in stomach wasn't bothering so much anymore. "I don't know what I have done to deserve this but I'm going to make damn sure I keep deserving them." He thought as his wives took their places on his sides as was traditional in herd weddings.
Princess Celestia smiled the group. It brought her such joy to she her once bright eyed purple all grown up and getting married. Though even she could never have predicted it would be to the baby dragon her pupil had hatched on her entrance day.
The princess cleared her throat and began the ceremony. "Dearly beloved, we are here today to bear witness to the formation of a new herd. But not just any herd, an equestrian royal herd made of heroes of the kingdom. Princess Twilight Sparkle the alicorn of friendship and bearer of magic. Lady Applejack of the apple family and bearer of honesty, Lady Pinkie Pie party planner and bearer of laughter. Lady Rainbow Dash wonderbolt and bearer of loyalty Lady Fluttershy animal care giver and bearer of kindness. Lady Rarity fashion designer and bearer of generosity. Lady Starlight counselor of the friendship school. Lady Trixie the great and powerful magician, and Sir Spike the hero of the crystal empire. You all have been through so much and will go through so much more to come, may the union we create today never become undone and may bear many, many fruits of love."
Celestia looked to Spike who reached into his pocket to pull out the sheet with his wedding vows. The dragons’ eyes went wide as he could he pocket empty and began searching his suit.
After a few franchise seconds he finally managed to find it in the inside hem pocket. The girls all giggles as Spike smiled sheepishly before reading. "I don't know what I ever did to deserve you all in my life, much less falling in love with you all, but whatever it was I'm glad I did it and I hope I continue to keep deserving you all. I love each and every one of you and just knowing you all have made me a better drake. I know we may be young, Tartarus I'm only a hundred years old, and while I can't say what will happen in the future, what I do know is that as long as we are together we can face anything that comes our way."
The mares were all smiling with liquid happiness coming from their eyes, and they weren't the only ones as all their parents and siblings likewise had the same liquid happiness coming from their eyes.
Princess Celestia smile at the group. “Spike do you promise to love and cherish and obey your brides. Through sickness and health, through richer and poorer, till death do you part?"
Spike smile,"I do."
Princess Celestia then look at each of the mares,"Do you mares each take this drake as your husband?"
Each of the mares look at Spike and give their answers,"I do." "You better believe it!" "Yes." I reckon I do." I Dodododo!" "Of course I do." "The Great and powerful Trixie says yes." "Yes I do."
Princess smile, "Then by the power vested by me as a member of the royal alicorn house of Equestria I now pronounce you a herd. You may now kiss the groom."
Spike starts to kiss each of his wives as the crowd began to cheer.
