Auradon Cathedral

Ben’s coronation at the cathedral was a magnificent event like no other.

The cloudless blue sky smiled down upon the limos snaking their way up to the entrance of the cathedral. Snow White, the anchorwoman, stood on a platform facing the TV cameraman.

Snow White: *speaks into her mike* At last! Here we are, broadcasting live, where Prince Benjamin will soon be crowned king! I’m Snow White, bringing you up-to-the-second coverage of who’s the fairest of them all.”

Bargain Castle

Meanwhile, back in Bargain Castle, the villains were all watching the coronation.

Evil Queen: *throws pieces of popcorn at the TV and mocks Snow* "I'm snow white." Who are you kidding? She's definitely had work done.

Auradon Cathedral

The camera exposed the inside of the massive cathedral, with its stained glass and countless pillars. It panned over Amethyst, Rarity, Audrey, Chad, Fairy Godmother, and other guests mingling beside a stage, where a bell jar was on display, covered by a sheet.

Rarity: *whispers to him* I wonder where those kids are.

Amethyst Majesty: *wears a white fancy tux with a black tie* Don’t worry, they’ll show up.

Rarity: *wears a sky blue dress and white boots, a mashup between her Fall Formal dress and Cinderella’s gown (from Cinderella)*

Rarity: I just hope we've got enough time to convince them not to do anything foolish.

Amethyst Majesty: Yeah. But aside from that, I’d say you look very fabulous today, my princess.

Rarity: Ohh… *blushes cutely* Thanks. And you look really handsome, my prince.

Amethyst Majesty: Ohh... *blushes* Thank you, my lady.

*Lonnie, Jane, Chad, Audrey, and other guests also liked their attires*

Rarity: *can't resist showing off for her admirers*

Snow White: Aw, Fairy Godmother is looking radiant today. *sees Jane* But what’s happening with Jane’s hair! And that Peter Pan collar with a pink bow? Someone just earned a spot on Snow White’s “That Don’t Look Right” list.

Fairy Godmother: *uncovers the sheet on the bell jar and reveals her magic wand*

Snow White: And there’s Fairy Godmother’s wand. So sparkly! So fun!

Bargain Castle

Maleficent: *watches up close* I want that wand!

Cruella De Vil: Do you? Hadn't heard.

Auradon Cathedral

Snow White: *sees the carriage where Ben and Mal are riding on* Oh, and here comes Ben now.

A carriage drawn by two white horses rolled up in front of the cathedral. Ben and Mal sat in the back. Mal wore a radiant purple dress and had her hair up in a fancy bun. Ben wore his deep blue suit. Guests threw flower petals and confetti at them.

Snow White: Ooh, and he went with classic prince couture. That is a Benja-win.

Mal: *looks down at her beautiful blue box and clutches it*

Ben: *takes her hand* Don’t be nervous. All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful. *smiles* No problem there.

Mal: Thank you.

Ben: *offers her his Auradon Prep ring to her* Mal, would you wear my ring?

Mal: Um! Not now. *pulls her hand out of his* I think it would just fall right off me. *smiles* I have something for you! *hands him the blue box* It’s just for later. You know, when you need strength...some carbs to keep up your energy.

Ben: Always thinking. *opens the box*

Inside the box was a chocolate mini cupcake.

Ben: But I can’t wait. *takes a big bite of the treat*

Mal: No!

Ben: *munches the cupcake* Mmm, this is really good.

Mal: Uh...do you feel okay?

Ben: You bet! *licks his fingers*

Mal: Would you say that you’re still in lo- *retracts her sentence* that you have very strong feelings for me?

Ben: Not sure. Let’s give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect.

Mal: Okay. *then she realizes what Ben said and stares at him* What?

Ben: *laughs*

Mal: *laughs* You knew?

Ben: What? That you spelled me? Yeah. Yeah, I knew.

Mal: I can explain myself-

Ben: It’s fine. You had a crush on me. I was with Audrey. You just didn’t trust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?

Mal: Exactly. You are so right. So, how long have you known?

Ben: Since our first date. Your spell washed away in the Enchanted Lake.

Mal: So then...what, you’ve been faking it since then?

Ben: *puts his ring on Mal’s finger and kisses her hand* I haven’t been faking anything. *looks deep into her eyes*

Evil Queen: *continues watching TV* Well, If it isn't...

Maleficient: My daughter. Looking like some kind of...

Auradon Cathedral

Snow White: Princess! Now let’s see who this beauty is wearing... *reads something from the blue index card* Evie!

Bargain Castle

Evil Queen: Evie! That's my dau... Evie!

Auradon Cathedral

Snow White: Someone named Evie designed her gown.

Bargain Castle

Evil Queen: That's my daughter!

Maleficent: Oh, wow. She sewed a dress. Meanwhile, my girl duped a prince, and she's this close to grabbing the magic wand.

Evil Queen: Bitter, party of one. Bitter, party of one.

Maleficent: It's happening, people! It's happening! I say, gird your loins! Gird your loins! Villains, our revenge begins today.

*Jafar, Cruella, and Evil Queen celebrates in joy*

Auradon Cathedral

Amethyst Majesty: Oh, this is so exciting. I’ve never been to this kind of event before.

Rarity: Me neither, darling. But I can honestly say… This is simply divine!

Amethyst Majesty: I know, right? I wish our friends were here to see this.

Rarity: Me too. I wonder what they're up to, back home.

Mal and Ben: *reaches the top of the stairs*

Mal: *bows before Ben’s parents* About the other day, I just-

Beast: I told Ben this wasn’t going to be easy.

Ben: You also taught me that a king needs to believe in himself. Even when it isn’t easy.

Beast: I did. How very wise of me.

Belle: Ben, we are so proud of you. You keep listening to your heart.

Ben: Thanks, Mom.

Beast: You’re going to make a fine king.

Beast and Belle: *walks off*

Ben: *steps up to Mal* Wish me luck.

An attendant offered his hand to Mal. She turned to Ben, smiled, and allowed herself to be led away and into the cathedral. It was time for the coronation to begin.

Attendants opened the main doors to the cathedral for Ben.

Ben: *walks down the long isle*

The audience bowed to him as he passed.

Amethyst Majesty: *bows to him as Ben walks passed by him*

Rarity: *curtsy, as Ben passes by*

The choir sang. Mal watched Ben from the front row. Evie, Jay, and Carlos with Dude looked on from the balcony.

Ben: *moves down the isle*

Mal: *smiles, but stops*

Ben: *approaches the stage where his parents, Fairy Godmother, and the wand waited for him.

Beast: *lifts up the bell jar*

Ben: *stops and bends his knee to kneel down*

Fairy Godmother: *holds the wand out to Ben as if she is going to knight him* Do you solemnly swear to govern the people of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?

Ben: I do solemnly swear.

Fairy Godmother: *lifts her wand* Then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king-

Suddenly, the wand was snatched out of Fairy Godmother’s hand.

The audience: *gasps*

Amethyst Majesty: No!

Bargain Castle

Maleficent: *watches what’s happening on TV* Yes!

Evil Queen: Oh!

Jafar: Yes!

Auradon Cathedral

The magic wand shook violently and shot off a wild display of sparks.

It bucked and sent a fierce bolt of lightning that cracked through one of the cathedral’s stained glass windows. It sizzled through the air and exploded as it hit and broke the magic barrier of the Isle of the Lost. Maleficent’s house rumbled.

Bargain Castle

The villains feel the rumbling in Maleficent’s house.

Maleficent: *feels the rumble* Yeah! Oh!

Evil Queen: The barrier is broken! We're free!

Maleficent: Scepter! Now! *commands the scepter and takes off as she laughs sinisterly*

Auradon Cathedral

Fairy Godmother: Child, what are you doing?!

But it wasn’t Mal who brandished the wand; it was Jane.

Jane: *shouts* If you won’t make me beautiful, I’ll do it myself! *struggles to control the wand*

Everyone screamed as the wand swung from left to right.

Jane: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!

Beast: Take cover!

Mal: *takes the wand from Jane*

Belle: Careful, Mal!

Mal: *wields the wand like a sword*

Jane: *scampers away form her*

Ben: Mal...give me the wand.

Mal: Stand back!

Ben: Mal, it’s okay-

Mal: Ben, I said stand back!

Audrey: *steps out of the fray* I told you so!

Mal: *swings the wand towards her*

Audrey: *staggers back*

Evie, Jay, and Carlos steps in.

Carlos: Let’s go!

Jay: Revenge time.

Ben: You really want to do this?

Mal: We don’t have a choice, Ben! Our parents-

Ben: Your parents made their choices. Now it’s time to make yours.

Rarity: Listen to him, Mal! I can see that you really don't want to do this.

Mal: *looks into the faces of Beast, Belle, and Fairy Godmother and she takes a moment to think about her decision* think I want to be good.

Ben: You are good.

Mal: How do you know that?

Ben: Because...because I’m listening to my heart.

Mal: *lowers her wand* I want to listen to my heart, too. And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents. *looks at Jay* I mean, stealing this doesn’t make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy.

Jay: *smiles*

Mal: *looks at Carlos* And you, scratching Dude’s belly makes you happy. Who would’ve thought? *giggles*

Carlos: *smiles*

Mal: *looks at Evie* And Evie, you do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart.

Evie: *laughs as she nods to her, filled with happy tears*

Mal: And I don’t want to take over the world. I want to go to school. And be with Ben. *she turns to look at him* Because Ben makes me really happy. Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things...

Evie, Jay, and Carlos: *nods to her*

Mal: *puts her hand out* I choose good, you guys.

Jay: *joins her fist with his* I choose good, too.

Evie: *puts her fist next to Jay’s* I choose good, too.

Carlos: *takes a deep breath* So, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be? Because they're gonna be really, really mad.

Ben: Your parents can’t reach you here.

Carlos: Okay, then. Good. *puts his fest next to Evie’s*

Ben: *puts his hand in the mix*

Then, the sound of a window shattering caused everyone to gasp. A green glowing orb floated down from the broken window and landed beside Mal and her friends.

In a flash of lightning and a roll of thunder...

Maleficent: *appears* I’m back!

The audience froze as Maleficent threw back her head.

Mal: Go away, mother.

Maleficent: *laughs* You’re very funny. *extends her other hand while her other hand holds her scepter* Here. Wand me.

Mal: *refuses to give the wand to her mother*

Maleficent: *snaps her fingers* Chop-chop.

Mal: *tosses the wand to Fairy Godmother*

Fairy Godmother: *catches it* Bibbidi-Bobbidi-

Maleficent: Boo! *uses her scepter and freezes everyone except Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Rarity*

Rarity: *hides, and tries to sneak around*

Maleficent: Psych! *takes the wand off from Fairy Godmother’s hand* Where shall we begin? *points the wand at Mal* I know. Why don’t we start by getting rid of this... *aims the wand at Ben’s ring on Mal’s finger*

The ring flew into the wand.

Maleficent: Perfect fit! *walks over to Ben and knocks his crown askance* Falling in love is so weak...and ridiculous. It’s not what you want.

Mal: You don’t know what I want! Mom, have you ever once asked me what I want? *tears stream down on Mal’s cheeks* I’m not you!

Maleficent: Well, obviously! I’ve had years and years and years and years of practice of being evil. You’ll get there.

Mal: No, I will not! And I really wish that you had never gotten there yourself. Love is not weak or ridiculous. It’s actually really amazing. *smiles through her tears*

Maleficent: I know one thing, young lady. You have no room fro love in your life! *points the wand at Mal*

Mal: *extends her hand* And now I command, wand to my hand!

The wand flew into her hand.

Mal: It worked!

Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Rarity exchanged looks.

Maleficent: I hardly think so. Frankly, this is tedious and very immature. Give me the wand! Give me the wand!

Carlos: Hold on, Mal! Maybe good really is more powerful than evil.

Rarity: I can tell you…it is! *shows herself, and pony-ups as her skin turns pure white from her dimension*

The VKs: *widens their eyes*

Evie: How did you do that?

Rarity: Equestrian magic. I'll explain everything later.

Maleficent: Oh, please! You're killing me.

Dude: *runs up to her and jumps into her arms*

Maleficent: *smells his breath* Oh! Oh, the breath! The breath! Get off me!

Jay: *tries to grab the scepter*

Maleficent: *holds it tightly, leans close to him, and strokes his bicep* Gaston would be jealous. *sends Jay flying backwards with a flick*

Rarity: *catches Jay with her powers*

Maleficent: Enough! You will all regret this! *begins to expand and changes shape into a huge dragon as it soars high above them*

Rarity: Oh, my… *shoots her magical diamonds at Maleficent*

Maleficent (Dragon): *dodges them, sets her sights on Jay, and follows him*

Mal: Jay!

Jay: *starts sprinting away from the dragon*

Carlos: Come on. Run, Jay, run!

Evie: She’s right behind you!

Maleficent (Dragon): *flies in and blocks Jay’s path*

Jay: *runs the other way where his friends are at*

Mal, Evie, Rarity, Carlos, and Jay ran away from the dragon.

Maleficent: *tries to swoop in, talons gleaming, setting his sights on Jay*

Evie: *steps in between them and reflects a beam of sunlight in her mirror*

Rarity: *creates a huge diamond, which also reflects the sunlight, straight into Maleficent's eyes*

Maleficent (Dragon): *gets blinded by the beams of sunlight and skids to a sudden stop*

Mal: *steps in, holding the wand up* Leave my friends alone! This is between you and me, Mother!

Maleficent (Dragon): *slowly bends her head down until it is leveled with Mal*

Mal: *her eyes turned green like her mom, stands proudly strong, fearless, and beautiful, and looks at her mother in the eyes without blinking*

Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Rarity watched them go face-to-face with each other like it’s a staring contest.

Mal: *incants confidently* The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one. The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one. The strength of evil is good as none, when stands before four hearts as one!

Rarity: *watches them*

Mal had always lost the stare-downs she’d had with her mother. But in that moment...

Maleficent (Dragon): *blinks*

There was a flash of smoke, and the dragon was gone.

Rarity: Where did she go?

Carlos: What just happened?

Mal: I have no idea. *races down the aisle*

The rest of her friends followed her.

Evie: Did you do it?

Mal: *she stops* I don’t know!

Fairy Godmother: *becomes unfrozen and runs up the aisle to meet them* No, no, no. Your mother did. She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That’s why it’s so...itty-bitty. *looks down at their feet*

After the whole battle between mother and daughter, Maleficent shrank down and became a little lizard.

Rarity: That’s Mal’s mother?

Mal: Is she going to be like this forever?

Fairy Godmother: You learned how to love. So can she.

Mal: *holds the wand out to her* I believe this belongs to you.

Fairy Godmother: *takes the wand and pick Ben’s ring up from the ground* And I believe this belongs to you.

Mal: *grins and puts on the ring*

Fairy Godmother: You all have earned yourselves an A in Goodness class...except Rarity.

Mal and her VK friends laughed.

Evie: *gives Mal a high five*

Fairy Godmother: And speaking of you, Rarity. How did you break free from Maleficent’s spell?

Rarity: I'm not sure, actually. I guess it must be my Equestrian magic.

Fairy Godmother: Equestrian Magic?

Rarity: Well… It's kind of hard to explain.

Fairy Godmother: Fair enough. *aims her wand at Ben, Beast, and Belle* Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!

Ben: *roars a battle cry*

Mal: Okay, okay, okay! We kind of got this wrapped up here.

Fairy Godmother: *unfreezes the other guests and Auradonians*

Rarity: *turns back into her normal self and her skin changes back into her human skin*

Amethyst Majesty: *gets unfrozen*

Rarity: *runs to him and hugs him* Are you okay, honey?

Amethyst Majesty: *looks around* Yeah. I am so confused. What just happened?

Rarity: It's a long story. I'll explain it all later.

Amethyst Majesty: Okay.

Ben: *looks around, confused, and sweeps Mal into a hug*

Mal: *squeals*

Ben: Next time, I rescue you, okay?

Mal: Yeah. Let’s not have there be a next time, okay? *gives him a hug and straightens his crown on his head* I will be right back. *walks over to Fairy Godmother*

Fairy Godmother: *lectures Jane, pointing the wand at her* I love you, but you are on a major time-out.

Mal: Don’t be too hard on Jane. *puts a hand on Fairy Godmother’s shoulder* I was the one who put all the crazy stuff in her head. *looks at a humiliated Jane* You are beautiful, inside and out. Your mom got that right.

Jane: I guess I did get pretty lucky in the mother department.

Fairy Godmother: *takes her hand and leads her away*

Mal: *locks eyes with Audrey, smiles and curtsies at her*

Audrey: *does the same*

They’re not getting along was water under the bridge, for real that time.

Attendant: *clamps the bell jar over the lizard on the aisle*

Mal: *leaps towards them* Hey! Careful! That’s my mom!

Everyone: *laughs*

Attendant: *bows to Mal and walks away*

Mal, Ben, Evie, Jay, Amethyst, Rarity, and Carlos with Dude: *huddles together*

Jay: Let’s get this party started!
