The USF, UNITED SPECIES FEDERATION, Rescue Team Alpha-653. Crew Manifesto: Commander Officer: Colonel Mcdoland, Military Grade Reploid on Loan from the Reploid Galaxy Defense Force. Second-In Commands: Special Forces Officer Zantetsu on Loan from the United Earth Military. Chief-Corporal Major, Mars also on Loan from the United Earth Military. Royal Equestria Guard Unit: Royal Equestrian Ambassador, Rarity Royal Equestrian Master Sergeant, Rainbow Dash Royal Equestrian Staff Sergeant, Apple Jack Royal Equestrian Natural Science Officer, Fluttershy Royal Equestrian First-Grade Air Force Captain, Amber Glow Specialized Contacted Non-Military Personnel: Science Officer, Midnight (Vim Scientist from Planet Vimvitae) Senior Engineer, Waylon John (Turian Engineer) First-Grade Engineer, Douglas Truman (Human Engineer) Data Logs were captured by Douglas Truman's Engineering Suit. These were the only video and audio recordings gathered during the Incident. Beginning Data Log 1…….. Systems were green as he checked over them again. “Status Report, Mr. Truman?” The Colonel asked. Looking over his shoulder at the being standing in the center of the ship and was overlooking the bridge himself was the Colonel. A seven-foot-tall Reploid, a type of Android that came about from the union of old generations of robots known as replicas and android. The Colonel wore the standard Navy blue Colonel uniform with a white navy cap on top of his head. He has his arms crossed behind his back, while looking down at the engineer to his left with his brown eyes. His face was very humanoid-like and look more like it was flesh than it was metal. He also has a paper-thin mustache on his top lip. "We're all green, sir," Truman said as four Equestrian mares walk on to the bridge. Truman tried not to stare at them but he couldn't help himself. A white-furred mare lead the pack of ponies to the bridge, she dressed in fine purple dress suit combo. As Truman eyes slowly wandered over each pony before he caught the heated glare from a rainbow mane mare who's been glaring at him since the start of the trip. He quickly snapped back to his monitor as he overheard the conversation above him. “Have we arrived yet, Colonel?” The mare asked softly "Not yet, Ms. Rarity. We are still a few clicks out." He answers tipping his hat to her as she entered The mare let out a sigh at the Colonel answer. The Engineer nearby listening in lean over to his mentor beside him. His mentor was a Turian male, a race similar to birds or raptors in terms of their features. Despite this, their faces were more feline than avian, they still lack any visible ears or hair on their body through. Their skin was generally a grey leather-like texture. This Turian was called Waylon John, the senior engineer on this mission. Waylon sunken in icy blue eyes slowly moved to look over at his apprentice. “Yes?” he said softly as he kept working at his monitor. “Don’t you think this a bit weird? This is too many people just for a simple repair job?” the Engineer said quietly. "Douglas, the Shinra is the largest Planet Cracker in existence. The Federation has poured a great deal of time and money into it and with it suddenly going dark like this it's only natural for the Federation to make a big deal out of it," Waylon said. "Also, I told you, you didn't have to wear that suit all the time anymore.” Douglas let out a small sigh at Waylon answer. Being one of the few humans on board a small cruiser filled with aliens was... nerve-racking, especially when one seems to want to throw you out the airlock. Which give Douglas another reason to wear his standard issue engineer suit that doubles as a reinforced space suit. With it he could walk along the outside portions of a ship when needed to, as long as the small supple oxygen his suit carry last that is. Small pieces of armor plating covered vital areas meant to protect the engineer for when flying debris or explosions that might occur. It even had an old life gauge monitor on the spine of the suit encase of accidents. "I know, I know. It just... It just makes me feel safe, ya know? Like what if we suddenly hit by something and the cabin decompressed. And it would be the one time I decide to lower my helmet. No, I am not gonna take that chance. Plus don’t change the subject, Waylon, all of this is just plain weird,” Douglas argued, leaning closer to Waylon to keep others from overhearing them. “All of them are Royal Equestrian Guards. You know, those guys and gals that protect the ruling class of their home world. Hell, even our pilot is one of them,” he said, sneaking a glance at said pilot. She was mare like the other four. She had yellow fur with a bright orange mane cut like a Mohawk curved to one side. She was wearing a blue jumpsuit with the Equestrian Royal logo patch into it like the other four mares. It was comprised of four symbols each one representing one of the four princesses of their world. A Sun, a Moon, a Heart, and a Star. The Pilot caught Douglas eyeing her, and she shot him a wink of one of her bright orange eyes. He quickly snapped his head back to Waylon, who was already chuckling at him. "You sure know an awful lot about ponies for a human, Douglas," Waylon said. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He clarified. “Well, given the looks Rainbow mane over there has given you throughout the trip, I assumed old wounds from... before, were still open.” "That was years ago man. Beside that was an only hand full of humans being ass clowns. If I recall Turian didn’t like the idea of humans joining federation at first.” He shot back. "We had a good reason for that, you humans almost tried to kill anything that was different from you. Especially to the Equestrian." He explained. "Again, that was only a few of us. Sure, some people are still asshats but what race doesn't have people like that? We changed…or at least, most of us have," he protested. “Wounds run deep, Douglas. It takes time for them to heal, before people are ready to let the past go. Though, I am more worried about our two seconds in command. They're not the most…Friendly looking humans.” Douglas turned around, off to the left of the Colonel leaning against the wall were the other two humans on board. Both were male, though a bit on the lean side but both are armed to teeth. One man was carrying Sniper Rifle on his back. The other man was carrying a pistol along with several knives and grenades. The Rifle carrying man looked younger with his shorter black hair. The man with the pistol and knives had long shaggy black hair with sunken in eyes with a bit of a five o'clock shadow on his face. Both men are wearing mostly black clothing, along with a black headband engraved with a strange pattern. He slowly turned back to Waylon. "They do look quite…murdery. I don't think I have seen them take off their weaponry once during this whole trip," said Douglas. “I know what killers look like. I’ve seen eyes like those to two have, far too many times. The Colonel has them too,” the blue-eyed Turian said frowning at his apprentice."I know this is personal for you but, don't try anything until the job's done. If you make the wrong moves on board the ship you could end up in cuffs or…worse." “….I…I know. I won’t cause any trouble. Thanks again, Waylon, for letting me come,” said Douglas. “No problem, partner.” He said happily. “Also I don’t think the Colonel is the only robot on the crew. I'm pretty sure that science woman with the star hair is a machine of some kind. I mean, what the heck is a Vim? Have you heard of them before?” asked Douglas. "You know that's pretty offensive to Reploids?" said Waylon. "Though I have never heard of them either, maybe they're just rare in this part of the Universe. So, why do you think she's a robot?” "They are robots, Waylon. I'm not wrong about that," said Douglas. "She hasn't shown any emotions this whole trip and it doesn't help my suspicion when she only uses one tone to talk with. God, it felt like talking to a walking answering machi-" “Contact!” yelled the Pilot ending Waylon and Douglas whispering. Everyone eyes turned towards the windows on the bow of the ship, when it finally came into view. A motionless Behemoth that blocked out the light of the sun as the small vessel approached it. The P.C. MK.4 "SHINRA" Was plastered on the side of the ship. Locked in place, a few hundred miles from the planet surface with its gravity tethers deployed, carrying a large chunk of land underneath it. “Finally…We’re almost there…Please be safe, both of you.” Rarity whispered but Douglas overhead her. “Bring us in, Ms. Glow.” The Colonel Ordered. “Yes, Sir,” she replied moving their ship closer to the Shinra "Mr. Waylon. Run a scan on the Shinra, as we approach," the Colonel said looking at him. “Running it now, sir,” Waylon replied typing away at his monitor. Douglas began helping Waylon with the scan, as a buzzing noise filled his ears while images of her flash across his monitor. He could hear her voice calling out to him, as she repeated her call the buzzing in his ear grew even louder and- "DOUGLAS!" “Huh-What?” Douglas replied looking over at his partner who was eyeing him. "I am not getting any data from the ship. I need your help to run the scan again... You are alright?" Waylon asks with a bit of concern entering his voice. “Ya... sorry, I kinda zoned out there for a second,” Douglas said.. The cruiser weaved through the cluster of debris floating around the Shinra. Looking up from his monitor, Douglas let out a small gasp, when he saw the size of the ship. Now up close to it, he felt like they were nothing more than flies buzzing around an elephant waiting to get swatted. “Ms. Glow trying hailing them,” the Colonel ordered. Glow flick a switch on the control panel with her hoof, while clearing her throat to speak. “This is Alpha Rescue Cruiser-653 requesting clearance to land in any bay. Responding to a distress beacon. Please acknowledge,” Glow said. The bridge went dead silent waiting for someone on the Shinra to reply. They waited for a half-minute but only static came through the comms. Glow repeated the message again and again nothing but statics answered their call. The Colonel frowned and looked at Waylon. “Status Report, Mr. Waylon?” “Nothing, sir. It looks like our scanners are being jammed somehow,” said Waylon. "But that makes no-" The cruiser came to a sudden stop, violently shaking in the process. “FUCK,” Douglas yelled, as he was almost thrown from his seat, barely holding on to the monitor in front of him. The cruiser lights dimmed as a flashing red light flared to life along with a siren blaring in the background. “WHAT GOING ON?!” the Colonel roared at Amber Glow. "I am not sure! The ship won't respond and we getting pulled closer to the Shinra!" Amber Glow said. “WAYLON!” shouted the Colonel. "It's tracker beam, sir. Someone pulling us in towards the Shinra," Waylon said typing on his monitor. "We're too close to break free, sir!" "EVERYONE GET SEATED NOW AND BELT IN!" he commanded, bracing himself against the rails of the command deck in front of him. Everyone but, the Colonel and his two commanding officers, rushed to their seats. They all watch as they were pulled into the bay hub, as debris smashed into the cruiser front windows. "SHINRA, PLEASE DISENGAGE TRACKER BEAM. THE DEBRIS FIELD IS TOO HEAVY. REPEAT DISENGAGE," Glow shouted into her mic. Her eyes widen when she saw the bay doors they were heading for still closed. “SHINRA, BAY DOOR 10 IS STILL CLOSED! I REPEAT, BAY DOORS ARE STILL CLOSED!” she shouted. The Colonel snapped back to one of his Second in commands, the younger looking one, and yelled, “MARS, GET ON THE GUNS AND BLOW THAT DOOR OPEN NOW!” he ordered. The younger looking man let out an annoyed huff as he quickly hopped over the command deck and jumping into an empty chair below, he quickly armed the plasma cannons on the front of the cruiser and targeted the bay doors firing into them. The doors were only beginning to dent from the force of the cannons when Amber Glow pulled back on the steering wheel, causing the cruiser to speed forward. “BRACE FOR IMPACT!” Glow shouted. “SHITTTT!!!!” Douglas yelled as the ship rushes towards the bay doors. Loading Corrupted Data… "Everyone! Sound off!" The Colonel Ordered into the darkness of the bridge. "Do painful groans count?" Douglas answered releasing said painful groan as he lifted himself from the floor. The lights attached to his helmet finally came on blinking in as he clicked a button on the side of his helm focusing the light. He looked over at Waylon who was picking himself off the ground as well. A small trial of blue blood dripped from a cut on his cheek. Douglas whipped his head around the bridge looking around his light the only beacon within the darkness. Everyone was picking themselves off the ground from the impact. "TRUMAN!" The Colonel shouted. Douglas whips his head back at him shining the light at him. “Check the status of the vessel. NOW!” He barked. "YES, SIR." He stated quickly trying to shuffle his way to the back of the bridge. The floor was tilted to the right side making it difficult to walk. He clicked on his magnetic boots to stable himself as he walked. Then finally got to the door having to pry it open, he slips through the gap he made. What stood before him was a long hallway of shadows that stretched beyond his light. He quickly walked down it scanning the walls. He found what he was looking for, which was a small panel on the wall. He pries it open, he was met with sparks and smoke. He let out a sigh waving his hand clearing the smoke. There was a chill in the air. He slowly turned his head to the right. His light bounced off pale skin and deep blues that were expressionless void staring at him. “FUCK!” Douglas shouted jump back. His light now focused on the being who appeared. It was the science officer. The light bounced off the stars that were sprinkled throughout her hair. She remained expressionless as he did this. She was dressed normally for someone of her profession. Only her lab coat was draped around her elbows. "JESUS CHRIST LADY. Please learn how to say something before you sneak up on someone." Douglas stated feeling his heart rate skyrocket. "That would defeat the point of sneaking up on someone." She replied. He didn't know if she was being serious or making a jab at him. This was how she had acted the whole trip. Every interaction they had was like this. “What has happened?” She questioned. “Something pulls us into Shinra. We almost ate it into some bay doors. I am trying to get power back on. Everyone else is still on the bridge.” He explained. She simply let out noise acknowledging what he had said as she turned away from him walking towards the bridge of the ship. He just shook his head with a deep sigh. “Fuck’n aliens.” He muttered under his breath. He went back to the panel that was now clear of smoke. He would turn over his right arm. He would pull small jack from his wrist that stretched out a wire that he would jack into the panel. He cupped his hand. The suit ran a scan of the ship. The scan was projected as a hologram in his hand. He studied it for a moment before letting out a groan. He didn't want to have to report this. He pushed a few buttons on the holographic projection in front of him, turning on the backup generations on the ship. Luckily they were still intact. The lights of the ship came back to life, freeing the ship from the darkness. He would carefully stomp his way back to the bridge. The metal doors slowly opening for him. He saw everyone was packing up what gear they could that wasn't damaged in the crash. He saw two mares putting on special rigs on their backs. He had seen these rigs before in his studies. They were designed to let ponies without magic use devices that required thumb like guns or other tools. The rigs were linked to their spines allowing them to use small back movements to operate the devices. The two that had the rigs on were the rainbow mare and the orange-furred mare that looked like southern belle to him. They were heavily armed similar to the second in commands. Fully automatic weapons were load onto each side of the rigs. It made him nervous especially given rainbow manes disposition. “Truman status report.” The Colonel order. "Well, …it's pretty fucked sir. Unless you got an extra wing hidden somewhere, the cruiser not going anywhere." He replied. The Colonel narrowed his gaze at the engineer. "Sorry sir, my only way of dealing with stressful situations is sarcasm." He uttered with an awkward chuckle. The Colonel just walked passed him, everyone followed suit. Waylon gave Douglas a gentle pat on his shoulder as they all headed towards the main exit of the cruiser. The second in commands took point pulling outside arms each taking a side of the exit to the cruiser. Waylon gave a small nod to both of them letting them know the outside of the ship had oxygen on the other side. They exited the ship first check both sides. “Clear.” The shaggy second in command said. Everyone walked out onto the large bridge the ship had crashed into. The Colonel turned to Amber Glow. "Ms. Glow stay on the ship see if you cannot salvage something from her or get her back in working order somehow. If one of us doesn't return to the ship in a few hours active our distress beacon and wait for help." He ordered. She saluted him. “Aye, Aye sir.” She said as the door closed behind him. “Mars, Zantetsu take point.” The Colonel ordered. The two men nodded at each other getting about ten feet in front of the group as they all headed down a long bridge that leads to a massive sliding door. This was a loading bay for passengers boarding in large groups. Another chill ran down his spine as they moved forward. The only sound in the large room was their footfalls but, he swore he could hear small scratch noise. He was snapped backed into focus when the two men hit each side of the massive door. The rotating holographic button read "open" with a circle around it. The circle being the color blue meaning it wasn't locked. Mars reached towards the door pushing his hand against it. The holographic button loaded slowly before opening the doors. Each man took a side checking the room they entered. "Clear," Zantetsu stated. The rest of the team followed into the room. It was a large waiting room with a side security room to check in everyone. Making sure everyone's paperwork was in order. The air was stale even he could smell it through his suit. The room had three doors two of them were locked out only leaving the main door openable. "What is that ghastly smell? Dear heavens." Rarity commented holding a handkerchief to her nose. The Colonel turned to Waylon. “Can you scan the ship systems from here?” He questioned. "Yes, sir." He stated, turning to Douglas who simply followed him. They both went to the edge of the room scanning the walls until they found an access point. It took some time but, they unscrewed a small panel. Douglas jacked into the wall scanning the ship. He was taken back. He ran the scan again…and again. He looked at Waylon who was looking over the same data. “Am I doing the scan wrong or something?” He asked. "No…it giving me the same thing on my end," Waylon replied. Both the Colonel and Rarity turned to them. The Colonel was about to speak when Rarity jumped in first. "What's going on? Is everything alright?" She asked. Douglas turned to them both then looked back at Waylon. “Man I said the last bad news it’s your turn.” He said bluntly. "There's no life signals showing up on the systems. None. Most parts of the ship are under quarantine. On top of that somehow one of the engine reactors is offline.” He explained. “What kind of quarantine?” The Colonel questioned. “And what do you mean no life signals.” She asked the worry was visible on her face. Waylon let out a sigh. "The USF puts small life signals on every crew member before they head out on their mission. It's to make sure if someone is hurt or worse the system will notify someone. It's also a way to track crew members should they go MIA." He explained. "The problem is…the system is showing their no life signals on board. Even if the worst happened it would at least show their signals on systems…there is nothing." He explained. "As for the quarantines, I am not sure. It is not logged as anything the systems just picking something up these areas." He noted. There was silence in the room as Waylon explained. The Colonel rubbed his chin looking back at Waylon. "Could it be a bug in the system?" He asked. "Yes, please be sure," Rarity added. "We both ran it three times. It saying the same thing. It could be a problem with systems. But, I would have to log into mainframe on the bridge to see. The biggest problem is the reactor sir with it offline the ship is dead in the water. The other reactor is already beginning to overheat if it goes out as well the ship will start falling back into the planet’s orbit.” Waylon said looking at the Colonel. "Sir, we currently have no way off the ship. The systems not showing if there are any life pods left either." Waylon added. There was a long pause as everyone looked towards the Colonel who took all of this in for a moment. "Are the elevators working?" "No, sir," Waylon replied. "The Trams are online," Douglas added. “Trams?” The Colonel questioned. "Their public transport around ship sir. They can get us around the ship. They run everywhere, sir.” Douglas explained. “Alright. Waylon, Ms. Rarity, Ms. Fluttershy and Zantetsu. Come with me to the Bridge. Waylon will check the mainframe. I will check the captain's data logs." The Colonel explained turning to the rest of them. “Mr. Truman, Ms. Applejack, Ms. Dash and Mars will head towards the Reactor.” He ordered turning to Douglas. "If it is alright with you Colonel. I would like to see reactors as well if you don't need me on the bridge." Midnight finally stepped in. “That is fine by me Ms. Midnight.” He stated. “Can you get the reactor working by yourself?" He questioned Douglas. “…I can only promise to try. I cannot say one way or another without knowing the problem.” He concluded. “Make it work. Do whatever it takes to keep us airborne.” He ordered sternly. "You think we just gonna leave Rarity and Fluttershy alone without any backup." Dash jumped in with furrowed brow. “Ms. Dash. I and Zantetsu will keep them safe. You have my word. I have no idea what going on. I am not taking any unnecessary risks with anyone. I need this engineer protected so he can do his job.” The Colonel answered. Rainbow Dash just glared daggers at the engineer letting out a strong huff from her nostrils. She turned towards Applejack who tried to say something but, she just shoved passed her. Applejack just let out a deep sigh following her as everyone headed towards the door once more the two men took point. Douglas looked over at Waylon. “SAVE ME.” He whispers to his mentor. Waylon just patted his shoulder softly. "You will do fine. If anything goes wrong make sure to hit me up on the intercom. Anything looks off just start booking it." He said with a chuckle. Douglas wasn't amused by the comment. The main door opened up to the empty station area. It was a rail car tunnel. Waylon walked up to the small platform stand. He would push a few buttons as two tram cars simply came from the tunnel stopping in front of the station. "Mr. Waylon. Your thoughts on the matter?" The Colonel stated stepping onto the platform with Douglas and Waylon. “Well….it possible some kind of virus got on board the ship. Maybe they locked off what they could. But, that doesn’t explain the no life signals or how the tracker beam pulled us in.” He said. “My thoughts exactly.” He replied then looked over at Douglas. “Keep your wits about you son.” He almost ordered as he stepped onto the tram with Waylon. The second in commands followed suit. Douglas stood at the entrance of the tram that buzzing sound entered his ears again. He shook it from his head as he overheard the ponies talking. "Please be safe. I don't need more missing friends. Also…I know how she can be but, keep Rainbow Dash calm." Rarity said offering a soft smile to Applejack. “I will try. You know she is as stubborn as I can be.” She chuckled giving Rarity a small embrace. Douglas walked onto the tram not wanting to be caught eavesdropping. He waited for the other mare to get on board taking her seat in the back with Rainbow Dash. Midnight was in the middle of the car her legs crossover one another peering out the window. Mars took a seat near the front of the tram taking out his knife and digging into his nails cleaning them. Douglas let out a deep sigh taking in this sight. "Of course I get stuck with the crazy ones…" He muttered under his breath as he started the tram. The two trams slip away from each other. One going forward and other going back. Douglas walked back taking a seat near Mars. As their tram went backward into the tunnel. They were about twenty minutes into the ride. It was mostly silent other than the ponies whispering to each other every now and again. Which didn't help his nerves. He was just watching the walls and stations go back almost in a trace at this point. The buzzing in his ears was back. As they passed the next station he saw a glimpse of her standing on the edge of the station. He jumped up from his seat rushing to window as it passed by. Everyone's gaze now focused on him. He turned back to Mars. "DID YOU SEE THAT? A mare at the station." He commented. “…No? That station was empty.” He replied looking back down at nails as he cleaned them. “Jumping at shadows already?” He asked. “Zantetsu owns me five bucks now.” He said happily. "There was a mare I swear," Douglas stated. Rainbow Dash got out of her seat next quickly coming up to him. "What kind of mare? What she look like?" She questions harshly. There was a pause as he thought about how to reply. "I…I…don't know. Maybe I was seeing things." He explained. She let out strong huff again stomping her right hoof on the ground. "We are not here chase fantasies. Get your shit together or I will put a bullet between your eyes myself." She stated narrowing her brow at him. He just nodded slightly backing up to his seat as she turned back heading back to her's. After a few more minutes of awkward travel. The tram finally came to a stop at a small station. Everyone got up from their seats. The mares were out first stepping onto the platform that only leads to a small door at the end of the hall that connected to the station. Mars ran between them drawing his sidearm as he headed for the door. Douglas slowly walked behind the three as Midnight trail in front of him. Mars hit the side of the wall looking at the door which Rainbow dash just run through with Applejack slowly behind her. Mars rolled his eyes going through the door as well. “What are you doing?” He questioned both of them check the corners of the room. The room itself was a long wide hall that leads to a small group of monitors that were flanked by two doors right before the group of monitors was a small service room with glass windows. Thin yellow lines ran through the floor of the room from the monitors. “We need to get this done quickly so we can head back. We don’t have time for creeping around corners that you love to do.” Rainbow Dash said. “Did you forget I am in charge here? You cannot run off without check with me.” Mar replied sharply. "I DON'T LISTEN TO HUMANS PAL." She spits back. “It looks to me you don’t listen at all, cagna. (Means “bitch” in Italian)” He shot back coldly. “What you call me?” She questioned bucking up to him. Applejack stepped between the two. “Rainbow Dash stop! This ain’t help’n anything.” She stated. “I am just gonna…go check on reactor now.” Douglas stated quietly going past the group who was still arguing even as he said this. He watched Midnight do the same thing quickly slipping past the group as she headed toward the ground of monitors. Douglas headed into the small service room. The door opened up, he turned to the right stopping at the service monitor. He would once again take the jack from his wrist and plug it into the monitor allowing it to scan the monitor. At this point, Mars had walked up to the glass window tapping on it. Douglas looked up from the screen. "Anything yet?" He questioned. "Not yet it is still scanning could take a well," Douglas replied. "Speed it up if you can. I don't want to deal with ponies anymore." He stated bluntly. Douglas just gave a quiet nod not wanting to upset any of the people or ponies with firearms. That is when he heard the clicking sound. He stopped what he was doing turning his head slowly to the door leading into the service room. The holographic button on the door had turn red as it was locked itself. The lights went out in both rooms as a yellow siren light flashed with the blaring alert sound as an automatic voice spoke out. "AREA IS NOW UNDER QUARANTINE. LOCKDOWN IS IN ENGAGED." Douglas heard the pipes above burst filling the room in front of him with steam blocking his view of what was going on with the others. “WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?” Mar shouted out. As a hail of gunfire began. END OF DATA LOG 2.
