Ghost Butters
BONUS Feghoot
Previous ChapterDaring checked the map one more time before she put the block in the ship's wheel. Satisfied she was on course, she trotted over to Fleece, who was standing with her hooves on the bow railing, like she'd been for at least half an hour, since they'd left the pirates behind. "One thing I don't understand," she commented conversationally. "You got the baking supplies from the cornucopia, right? It gave you the ability to create them."
Fleece nodded silently.
"And that all makes sense," Daring continued. "But you also had a whisk and a bowl. You had a pie server. You had trays full of food sitting on the counters. And you had an oven. I don't understand where all of that came from."
Fleece shrugged. "There's this pegasus mailmare. She was the only one I trusted to be real, but she could never stay around for long. She was determined, crazy determined--it takes a crazy pony to transport an entire oven over hundreds of miles of jungle, right? But she never complained, even when the packages arrived a little scuffed up, like she'd clearly dropped them." She smiled wistfully. "We had an agreement. She'd bring some of the food I made back to Equestria--Ponyville, I think she said--and sell them. She helped me get enough bits to buy whatever I needed. Honestly? She's the only reason I stayed sane."
"What was her name?"
"Don't know." Fleece lifted a hoof to the wind, and Daring could see her outlines blurring just a tiny bit as the breeze blew the intangible spirit matter. "She never asked my name, so I never asked hers. She was just doing her job. Before I knew it, that whole room--the whole area I lived in--it was totally filled. Sometimes I wonder if she could even see it. Her eyes were a little funny. But I know she knew how happy she made me. Maybe that was why she was so determined, so crazy, that she would do so much for me."
"So, just for clarification..." Daring hesitated. "You're saying..."
Fleece nodded in agreement. "Ewe area filled with DETERMINATION."
