Chapters Doctor Whooves Part 1: The Oncoming Storm
The Doctor felt short. He could tell because as he fell about the TARDIS, his head barely reached the control console. He wondered if he had regenerated, which was the most likely answer in this crisis. But the funny thing was, he couldn't remember regenerating, which was frustrating since he usually remembered everything.
He was flung into the air, the fell onto the TARDIS console. His head spun as he tried to focus. He reached out to grab a lever on the console, then saw something that made him fall right off the console. He slid down the console, accidentally pulling the brakes on the way down. The TARDIS stopped in mid-flight. The Doctor gasped and looked at his hand to make sure this wasn't a dream of some kind. His hand was a hoof! He looked at the rest of his body and saw three more hooves, a hourglass on his rump, and a chesnut-coloured coat. Not a jacket coat, but a fur coat. Not a fur coat, but the kind of coats that animals have. He also saw that he was, in fact, a pony. "Oh, my..." The Doctor said. "What in the..."
The TARDIS shook as it landed somewhere. "Oh, I guess I should probably find out where the TARDIS has landed." He walked to the door. Then he looked up at the handle, high above his head. "Blast it," he said, angrily. "Not only am I a pony, I'm a Shetland pony! Now I can't reach the bloody handle!" He jumped to see if he could reach it. He stopped after a few hops, for he could not reach it. He kicked the door in frustration. Then there was a knock.
"Are you okay in there?" a girl-ish voice said. "Yes, I'm fine, in most ways!" The Doctor said back. "Actually, that was a lie. I'm kind of in a jam here. I'm going to slide a key under the door. Can you get it, unlock the door, and get it open? I'm a bit too short to reach the handle." "Okay, I guess," the voice outside replied.
The Doctor ran back into the TARDIS. He looked around and saw his key laying on the ground. He grabbed it. Well, he tried to grab it. "Bloody hooves," he muttered as he kept trying to get a grip on the key. He eventually decided that the mouth was the best way to do this. "Hopefully the person outside can stand mouth germs." He pushed the keys under the door. There was a click as it unlocked, and then the door was opened. He looked to see who opened the door. He looked up, expecting to see a human there. But there was no one. He looked down to walk out, and saw a purple pony there. Scratch that last part. Purple UNICORN. The Doctor gasped.
"Oh my..." he said. He stared all around him. The scenery was so colorful, the sun too bright, everything was too cheery. It was like a child's cartoon show, but in 3D, and all real. "Wow," the unicorn said. "It must have taken some serious magic to make the inside bigger than the outside." "What?" The Doctor replied. "Magic? As in, REAL magic? Not fake magic, or science?" "Uh, yes. Real magic," the unicorn said. "Did you get hit in the head or something, because you're acting that way. You've also got a bloody nose. And, about the magic, everypony knows we've got magic." The Doctor started laughing. He fell over he was laughing so hard.
"What in the hay is so funny?" the unicorn asked. "You said everypony!" The Doctor said, his eyes watering. "EVERYPONY!" The unicorn stood there with an annoyed look on her face until he stopped laughing. The Doctor stood back up. "This place is incredible! Talking ponies, and unicorns to boot! What is your name then?" "Twilight Sparkle," the unicorn said with a little uncertianty. "Twilight Sparkle!" The Doctor began laughing again. "This place is so cartoony!" "What's your name then, mister?" "Oh, I'm the Doctor!" "Doctor of what?" Twilight asked "Just the Doctor, thank you." "Okay, so, where are you from, because you act like you're not from here." "I am from Gallifrey," The Doctor replied. "and... that's not anywhere near here, is it? I have absolutely no idea where I am.
"I was in my TARDIS, the big blue box, and I was travelling along, when all of the sudden, I'm a pony! I have no idea what happened!" "What were you before then?" Twilight asked. The Doctor was puzzled for a minute, then realized what she meant. "Oh, well, I was a Time Lord!" Twilight sat there, confused. "It's, similar to a human," The Doctor hinted.
"Oh, okay!" she replied. "I've read about humans! Supposedly, they existed before ponies, but another reference says their from a far away planet. I like to believe that there's a completely different land, filled with different creatures, but of course, I feel it would impossible to reach the land where they live." "Well, my box here can take you there!" The Doctor said. "But for now, I have to find out what happened. I arrived here somehow, and I need to know how to get out. Can you help?"
"I guess I could," she replied. "I can search for magic signs, and other disturbances." "My TARDIS can scan for spikes in different radiations. And I hope that we can find an answer soon. I'm starting to get hungry."
"Well, I can get you something to eat," Twilight said. "Okay, sure. Let's go to your place and get some food," The Doctor said. "Or wherever you ponies eat." "My place," Twilight said. "You can read up on our land there, too. I live in a library, after all!" 'Wow,' The Doctor thought. 'She must be very smart. That's a good sign. I guess I should go.' They went to go to the library.
The library was a tall tree that stood slightly higher than the normal house he saw around the town, and had windows and doors in it. They walked in. Inside was a gigantic library. It may not have been the largest ever, but it was by far one of the most impressive personal collections he had ever seen.
He looked from left to right. 'Where to start?' he thought.

New Knowledge, New Friends
The Doctor was struggling to contain all the information that was crowding up his brain. He had been in the library for less than an hour, and he had already read enough to understand the basic principles of the land, or, Equestria, as the books and Twilight called it. It was just so fascinating.
He thought himself quite lucky because the person, or in this case, unicorn, who opened the door to his TARDIS happened to be a complete brainiac. Wait, that's a bit mean. Okay, well-educated. She happened to be well-educated. He was glad that the pony, pegasus, or unicorn that helped him wasn't, well- stupid.
He looked up from the book he was reading and saw Twilight talking to her assistant, Spike. He wondered what they were talking about. He refocused his mind and continued reading. The books were becoming harder to read as the day trundled on, and The Doctor was struggling to continue, to continue learning. "Stop reading!" Twilight yelled. "You're going to damage your eyes or something!" The Doctor was startled and dropped the book.
"What book are you reading, anyway?" Twilight asked, picking it up. "The Ponies of Equestria: Volume 1. You were reading this? This is the unabridged history of Equestria! And you're over halfway done!" "Actually," The Doctor said. "I was re-reading it to check up on some things. I'm actually on Volume 3." Twilight's eyes widened. "How is that even possible?!" she began. "You've only been in here for a few hours! It took me weeks to finish Volumes 1 and 2! And you're on Volume 3!"
"Well," The Doctor said. "Being a bit different from the typical, everyday person or pony, I read at an accelerated pace. It is because the Time Lords had developed a way of reading that used a certain part of the-" Twilight shut him up with a book to the face. "Ow!" The Doctor yelled. "What was that for!" "Can you just shut up," Twilight said. "No one actually cares about the Time Lord's way of reading!" "Wow," The Doctor began. "Looks like you're mad that I'm a better reader than you. It's okay, I'm usually better than most. Except here. That's where you excel. I need a mind that can help me navigate around this place."
Twilight's fury began to lessen. He was right. Just because he could read faster didn't mean he was better than her. She was his only stepping stone in this current. 'Oh, great,' Twilight thought. 'I'm thinking philosophically now. what has this pony done to me?'
She turned around and walked to her schedule. 'Great,' she thought. 'There's no room in here for "taking care of a time traveling pony who used to be another being".' She looked back at The Doctor. He was on Volume 4. She felt like exploding. She looked at her next scheduled activity.
'A meeting at Sugarcube Corner. Good,' Twilight thought. 'I could use a visit with my friends. Looks like we've got a few minutes, too! I've got to go! Wait, but what about The Doctor? I can't leave him here, he'll read out my entire library! Ugh... He's going to have to come, too. Great.' She walked to The Doctor. "You're coming with me to Sugarcube Corner," Twilight told him. "You're going to meet my friends." The Doctor looked like he was going to explode in laughter. Twilight groaned. He suppressed the hysteria, and told Twilight, "Let's go, I love meeting a new friend!" They left the library, The Doctor leaving a mess of books on the floor. "When we get back, you're picking that up," Twilight told him. They arrived at Sugarcube Corner a few minutes later. The Doctor looked around, and saw many ponies wandering around. There were so many ponies there. But one pony caught his eye. She was a green color, and the only thing that made her stand out was the fact that she was sitting like a human.
The Doctor was about to go talk to her when Twilight steered him to a table that sat the most mismatched group of ponies he had ever seen. It may have been the first group of ponies he had ever seen, but it was still very odd. Pink, yellow, purple, white, rainbow, every color that he could think of off the top of his head was there. Twilight took him to the table.
"Who's this?" the rainbow-colored one asked. Twilight intoduced them. "This is the Doctor," she said, then began pointing to all the ponies there in order, saying their names as she pointed at them. "Rarity," she said, pointing at a white-coated, purple-maned unicorn. "Applejack," she said, pointing to a orange-coated, hay yellow-maned pony. "Pinkie Pie," she said, pointing to an all pink pony. "Fluttershy," she said, pointing to the yellow-coated, pink-maned, cowering pony. "And, last but not least, Rainbow Dash," she said, pointing to the rainbow-colored pony. The Doctor burst into hysterical laughter. Rainbow Dash jumped up and zipped over to The Doctor.
"What's so funny?!" she yelled. Pinkie Pie also burst out laughing. "Your names!" The Doctor managed to say through his hysteria. "Dear heavens, you ponies are a riot!" he said. He stopped laughing. "So," Rarity said. "Is he your mate or something?" "No," Twilight said. "I guess he's a friend. I'm not one-hundred percent sure." The Doctor spoke. "It looks like I attracted a lot of attention," he said, looking around at the ponies who were staring at the group. The six ponies looked around and also saw that.
"Alright," Twilight said. "Let's get on with things. Let's eat." They all ordered food. The Doctor was feeling a bit awkward in the silence that followed. "So, um..." he said. "Yeah," Rainbow Dash said. Twilight broke the silence. "Let's learn more about each other!" she said with an over-exagerrated cheerfulness. "Tell them about yourself, Doctor."
The Doctor then spent a half-hour telling them about his adventures in the TARDIS. It could have easily gone on for a few more hours, but Rainbow Dash fell asleep. Her snoring interrupted The Doctor in the middle of his first few adventures before his first Companion. "RAINBOW!" Twilight yelled. All the ponies at Sugarcube looked at them again. Rainbow Dash snapped to attention. "What?" she said. "I could tell he was going to spend hours doing this. Can we talk about someone else's past?" "Fine," Twilight said. "Rainbow Dash, why don't you?" "Fine," she replied.
She then spent the next fifteen minutes talking about Junior Speedsters Flight Camp. After she was done, The Doctor made an observation. "What about before Flight Camp?" he asked. "Well, uh..." she replied. "Oh, I see," the Doctor said. "It's just like me. You're afraid of your past, aren't you? You're running away from your past like I am. You obviously don't want to talk about it either. Which is fine by me." Rainbow Dash was stunned. 'How did he know that?' she thought. 'Nopony has even thought of that before, and he happens to just think of it?' She flew off. Twilight was suprised that Rainbow had flown off. She never ran from anything, but yet The Doctor says something, and she leaves like it scares her.
"Well," she said. "I guess we should go." All the ponies nodded. They left. They returned to the library. "how did you know that about Rainbow?" Twilight asked. "It's because I'm doing the same thing," The Doctor replied. "What are you running for?" Twilight asked. "It's a long story," he said. "We've got time for a long story. What happened?"
The Doctor then told her about the Last Great Time War, and of all the death that day. He told of the Daleks, and of the Time Lords, and what he did to stop the Daleks. Twilight gasped when she heard how the Daleks were defeated. "Why would you...?" she asked. "It was my only choice," he replied. "Well, not time to dwell on the bad. I'm going to continue reading!" Twilight looked at the mess on the floor. "Sure," she said. "But first, you're cleaning this mess up."

A Few Minutes After Chapter 2...
Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara stood at the edge of the Evertree Forest. A few other schoolchildren were nearby, watching expectantly.
"Ugh," Silver Spoon groaned. "Why did we get into this again?"
"Because," Diamond Tiara said, dragging out the last syllable. "We're going to control more of the schoolyard! My chart says that we would get more ponies to do or homework or do things for us. It all works out! Then we just need to find something that will make those stupid blank flanks give up their area."
"Are you totally sure it's worth going in here for, though?" Silver Spoon asked.
"Of course!" Diamond Tiara said, shocked.
"Alright, then," Silver Spoon said. "Let's get this over with."
They walked into the forest. All the schoolchildren watched as they went in, and everything went wrong. A light flickered on, and a metallic sound ripped through the silence. They heard Silver Spoon scream. They watched as Silver Spoon ran out. She was coming close to the group of schoolkids when a shadow appeared in the forest and the same sound came as before, but this time accompanied by a beam of light. Silver Spoon fell down, dead. The schoolkids ran, screaming, as the light from the forest faded. A voice echoed as the light faded, a metallic voice, monotone, no emotion behind it's noise. "Exterminate!" it yelled loudly.
A Day Later...
The attack in the Evertree Forest was the talk of Ponyville. The schoolchildren talked about what they saw there, but no one could imagine what creature did this. The parents of Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara were crying in their homes, and the most talented unicorns in Equestria suited up. It was time for a magical autopsy.
Twilight sat in the room with 3 other unicorns, uncertain of what had happened, and concerned because murder was far and between in Equestria. The room that they stood in was in a sealed off area of the hospital. She looked over at one of the unicorns in the room. 'Ugh,' she thought. 'Why does Trixie have to be part of this?' Trixie stood on the other side of the room, looking smug and arrogant. 'That unicorn needs a hoof to the face,' she thought. 'I may have taken her down last time, but there's no way she's any different.'
The body of Silver Spoon layed on the table. Diamond Tiara's body could not be recovered because of the thing in the forest. The unicorns spent many hours poking, prodding, and levitating the body, along with Trixie's constant annoying comments blurting through. After hours of this, a single guess on what killed the two fillies was non-existent. A curse came from one of the unicorns.
They all began to leave when a clanging signaled the arrival of somepony. They all looked to the entrance of the room. The Doctor walked in, puting away his Sonic Screwdriver in a pocket in a vest he had acquired earlier.
"What the..." Twilight said. "What are you doing here? This is for us only!"
"Well," The Doctor said. "I love locked doors, never could avoid them too well. And besides, if the thing you're looking for shoots light that kills you, I can probably help."
"How?" Twilight asked.
"Well, watch me figure out what killed them," The Doctor said with incredible certainty. He walked over to the body. He examined the charred fur and mane for a bit, then spoke his deduction.
"These are laser burns," he said. "No way it could be anything in your world, unless you've got laser shooting shadow creatures. This is definitely something from my world."
"You're world?" Trixie said with an arrogance she hadn't spoke with in months.
"Oh, I can already tell I'm going to dislike you," The Doctor said.
The Doctor looked at the body again, this time doing a more thourough search this time. He gasped.
"It can't be," he said.
"Can't be what?" Trixie said, with the same arrogance as before. "As I recall, you said it was from your world, so what can't it be? It has to be something."
"Dalek," The Doctor said, beginning to panic. He was trapped in this world, and there was a Dalek with him.
"A what?" Trixie said with an airy breath along with the last word.
"A Dalek," he said. "A killing machine. It has no emotions. It will kill anything that isn't a Dalek, not because it was told to, but because it needs to. If it gets out of the Evertree Forest, then everypony in Equestria will die. I need to stop it."
"Oh, please," Trixie said. "The Great-and-Powerful Trixie shall take care of it!"
"Dear heavens," The Doctor said. "You cannot stop that Dalek. It is from my world, and they're my mortal enemies, so, if they are going to get stopped, it will be by my hand, sorry, hoof."
Trixie groaned. "What a failure you are, my good loser," Trixie said.
"Twilight," The Doctor said. "Let's leave before I really give her something to talk about."
They left and went back to the library. They went in and went into the kitchen. The Doctor sat down in a chair and sighed. He was in for one heck of a problem.
"Twilight," he said. "Will you help me come take out this Dalek? Maybe your magic can penetrate the Dalek's shields."
"Sure," Twilight said.
"Really?!" The Doctor said, exuberant. "I only asked you because I didn't want that unicorn, Trix-, um..., you know, whats-her-name, to get all smug that she was there to help me beat it. You look more the modest type than her. So, time to get stopping!"
They left to go to the Evertree Forest. They arrived on the edge of it. The light that was there when the schoolchildren had been there was gone, and the only noise was the sound of The Doctor and Twilight breathing.
"Well," The Doctor said. "Allonsy!"

The Doctor and Twilight took the first step into the Evertree Forest. They walked on the path for a few minutes, then Twilight made an observation.
"It's so quiet," she noted. "There's usually twigs and branchs snapping, and the sound of insects. Where are they?"
"Not gone," The Doctor said. "Dead. The Dalek's killed them all. It's going to kill everything if it gets out of here alive."
They continued to walk until a clearing unfolded in front of them. Twilight gasped. Not because of the Dalek, which sat, lifeless, in the corner, but the portal of swirling colors in the middle.
The portal had almost a mesmerizing effect, seeming to pull you into its colorful vortex. The Doctor pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver and scanned the portal. He looked at the results.
"Hmm..." he said. "This portal is made up of pure life energy. It's a portal of life. But where does it go? Does it even go anywhere?"
"Doctor," Twilight said. "What about the Dalek?" At the mention of the name 'The Doctor', the Dalek switched on and began to scream in its metallic, monotoned voice of fury.
"Doctor, Doctor! The Doctor!?" it screamed. "Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Dalek tried to use its laser, but not a single one appeared. It looked at it.
"Ah," The Doctor said. "Low on energy, I see. Let me guess, this portal has been keepinng you alive. It's been recharging you. But, first things first, why are you here?"
"We came here for you, Doctor," the Dalek said. "We followed the TARDIS through the portal. But we did not realize the strength of the portal. We all perished, but I found the portal. The portal linked with me, and it supplies me with strength. It brought me back from the dead."
"What?" The Doctor said. "That portal brought you back from the dead! No way. Not possible! Look, you're pretty much a quarter of a Dalek. Look at you, stuck in a forest, forced to recharge. Let me guess, you were going to come for me, but those two fillies came in and instinct took over. Now you've got to recharge. Oh, this is just incredible. A Dalek, completely useless! That's a rare sight!"
"I, am alone," the Dalek said. "But, I am also stronger. I am unstoppable."
"Yes, I'm sure you are," The Doctor replied.
"Doctor," Twilight said. "Aren't we here to stop the Dalek?"
"Oh, yes, right!" The Doctor said. "Alright, I guess you could see if your magic affects it, I don't know."
Twilight's horn began to glow, and a bolt of magic shot out from it, blasting the Dalek apart.
"Well," The Doctor said. "I hope that's all of it. I still am confused to where this portal goes. I'm going to see if it says.
He pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver again, and re-scanned the portal. He looked at the results. He gasped, then began to laugh with happiness.
"It goes to Earth!" he said happily.
"So," Twilight said. "I guess this means you're going?"
"Oh, no," The Doctor said. "It's being blocked by another portal, coming here. It seems that this portal sits outside the borders of Equestria! Not to far out, but pretty far away from here."
"Outside the borders?" Twilight asked. "That's where the humans were supposed to have lived!"
"Wait," The Doctor said. "Didn't you say that they existed before ponies?"
"Well," Twilight responded. "I didn't say they lived in Equestria, now did I?"
The Doctor nodded, and shadow appeared in the portal. A form began to take shape.
"What the...!" The Doctor yelled. "The Dalek, it's, it's... coming back! I guess it wasn't a lie! RUN!"
They ran swiftly from the Evertree Forest, sprinting all the way back to the library. They ran in. The Doctor remembered something from earlier. He looked out the window to make sure the Dalek wasn't there.
"Twilight," he said.
"Yes?" she said, breathing heavily.
"There was a unicorn I saw earlier today," he said. "She was sitting like a human. Do you think she knows anything about humans?"
"Oh, you mean Lyra?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, I guess she is kinda into humans. She has been copying them for a while now. I see what your saying. I don't know. She may be able to help."
"Good," The Doctor said. "We can take her on our trip. We just need to ask her about it."
"Well," Twilight said. "She coomes to the library every day to read about humans, so later she'll be coming over, and we can ask her then."
"Good," The Doctor said. "Well, I'm going to catch up on some reading!"
"Oh, no," Twilight said.
