The Best Possible Thing!

Fluttershy's Backyard

Rainbow Dash was among the oldest of their group of friends even though she was considered to be one of the more immature of the group. However she was a lot more responsible than many gave her credit for, case in point how she planned to scold Scootaloo for blowing up at her friend like that when she was just trying to help. Rainbow knew full well Scootaloo's deep seething hatred for Diamond Tiara and she in no way thought her hate of the girl was unfounded; however what she did find unacceptable was Scootaloo's insistence of holding onto that hate and letting it damage her friendship with Sweetie Belle. As her loyal big pseudo sister she couldn't let that slide and so she had to strap up her big sister boots and go deal with the little squirt.

"Alright; enough is enough. Time to nip this in the ass once and for all. Dammit Scoots; why can't you just be honest with yourself?" Rainbow spoke to no one in particular as she went into her girlfriends backyard to reprimand and retrieve her pseudo little sister. She didn't like having to get all serious and be an 'adult' with Scootaloo but she knew full well there was a time for fun and games and there was a time for serious action. Now was a time for serious action.

'Time for a little tough love.' Rainbow thought as she came closer to the backyard.

As she marched into the backyard, swinging open the fence doors she scanned the area for Scootaloo and found her nowhere. Fluttershy had a pretty big backyard for the animals however it was small enough to where someone or something couldn't hide very well for fear of potential predators added with Fluttershy's paranoid nature but Rainbow loved her for it. With a sigh she concluded that the little runt could only be in one other location, the one spot she always went to when she was upset or angry and wanted to be alone.

"You really are just like me when I was your age. What a drag." With a sigh she walked into the backyard and towards a large oak tree that supported a treehouse. It had at one point belonged to Fluttershy and it was here that in the past days she, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie & Applejack would come together and play as friends. It was their secret but not so secret place to hang out and just be themselves. She remembered all the fun times they had in there and remembered how good it felt to bequeath the treehouse to the CMC when they were younger.

She remembered how she, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy helped repaint and fix up the battered up old structure a few years back, making it a bit bigger for them so that they didn't outgrow it as quickly as the five friends once did and so that whenever they came to visit them they didn't hit themselves on the head. Something that happened to Rainbow a lot when they started getting taller.

Marching over to the tree she looked up at the big wooden and metal reinforced treehouse she and her friends helped build for the three friends to strengthen their bonds of friendship. She knew she would have to stop taking a trip down memory lane and get tough for a little bit because she knew Scootaloo was going to be hard to reason with on this matter. With a sigh of resolve she wanted to see if she could solve this with words first.

"Scoots! I know you're up there! We need to talk; NOW!"

There was silence at first but after perking up her ears she could hear the faint sound of crying and cursing. Rainbow cursed under her breath but she knew she couldn't back down. Scootaloo needed to confront this and Rainbow was going to help her do it whether she wanted her to or not! Steeling her resolve she marched up the ladder and got ready to go into the clubhouse but was stopped by a few of the animals whom Scootaloo had taken to try and train to be her pets. They looked at her almost pleadingly not to go in. She didn't have the same ability to communicate with them as Fluttershy or Sunset did and so she pushed past them and said.

"You all go back to Shy; I need to handle this."

The animals did nothing to stop her knowing they couldn't. Rainbow had as much authority around here as Fluttershy did and it was a known fact that when Rainbow or Fluttershy gave an order? It was to be followed. They moved out of her way and she pushed forward into the treehouse. The walls were covered in Daring Do, Wonderbolt & Countess Coloratura posters showing the varying interests of the different members of the CMC; there were tons of lists, drawings, games and the like scattered about the room.

In the far corner of this room lay Scootaloo, curled up and crying in a beanbag chair seemingly holding something and her headphones upon her head, the ones that looked that pony ears that Sweetie Belle got her for her 16th birthday if she recalled. Rainbow felt her heart sink as she walked up behind Scootaloo and heard her crying and cursing.

"I-It's not fucking fair! That no fucking good, spoiled, pampered fucking little-!" Scootaloo ranted and raved, holding close to her chest a picture of herself and Sweetie Belle. It was only of her and Sweetie; it was taken a year before they had met Apple Bloom. Sweetie Belle was her first real friend and Diamond Tiara her first true enemy. So why then? Why would Sweetie just up and throw all that away to smack lips with some spoiled tramp?!

"Scoots..." Rainbow said trying to inch her hand closer to put on Scootaloo's shoulder but her hand was slapped away.

"GO THE FUCK AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE RAINBOW!" Scootaloo screamed and buried her face in the beanbag chair to hide her shameful crying face from her big sister and idol. She wouldn't bare to be seen so lame and shameful by the one person she respected the most in the world.

Rainbow kept her voice even and her face straight. "No can do kiddo. We need to talk and I'm not leaving till we do."

Scootaloo growled curled herself up harder if it was possible. "FUCK YOU! I DON'T HAVE TO TALK TO YOU! I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT! JUST GO AWAY!"

She and Scootaloo regularly cursed at each other. She didn't really care all that much because words were just words and she was taking into account that Scootaloo was in emotional distress at the moment as well. With a sigh she sat down with her legs crossed next to the crying teenager. "Not giving you a choice here squirt. You made Twi cry and I can't have that and neither can Sunset. I get you're pissed off and trust me; you have every reason to be angry. But this shit has to stop; this grudge of yours against Diamond isn't healthy"

Clutching her chest and heaving in anguish she kept turned away from Rainbow. "OH JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! YOU OR TWILIGHT OR SUNSET OR FLUTTERSHY OR ANY OF YOUR FUCKING PERFECT FRIENDS GET IT! I WAS SWEETIE'S BEST FRIEND! I WAS HER # 1! I WAS THE ONE WHO PROTECTED HER FROM DIAMOND AND SILVER WITH THEIR CONSTANT BULLYING AND CULTURE SHAMING! I'M THE ONE WHO TOOK THE BRUNT FOR THAT STUPID VIEWTUBE MUSIC VIDEO WE DID SO KIDS WOULDN'T SHAME HER OUT OF SPITE! ME! I'VE DONE SO MUCH FOR HER AND WHAT DOES SHE DO TO THANK ME HUH?!"

Scootaloo slammed her fists down and sat up whirling around to look at Rainbow Dash, her face covered in tears, her eyes bloodshot, her entire appearance was just miserable. Rainbow winced and cringed at the sight, she could never recall seeing Scootaloo this upset reaffirming to Rainbow that this issue needed to be solved right here and right now.

"SHE THROWS IT ALL AWAY! SHE JUST...JUST...FORGETS IT ALL! FORGETS ALL THE PAIN AND TORMENT THAT LITTLE BITCH PUT US ALL THROUGH! ALL THE RACIST SLURS! CALLING US WORTHLESS AND TALENTLESS AND A TRIO OF USELESS LESBIANS! BUT WHAT THE FUCK WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT IT HUH?! YOU GOT THE GIRL YOU WANTED AND THE BEST FRIENDS THE UNIVERSE COULD GIVE ANYONE! SAME WITH TWILIGHT! SO WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I LISTEN TO YO-"

*SLAP*

It wouldn't be the first time Rainbow would have had to hit Scootaloo. She's had to strike some sense into the kid before but it was usually just a smack upside the head or denying her the approval of her idol that she adored so very much. This time she cut all the formalities and straight up cocked her hand back and open palm slapped Scootaloo in the face and the entire treehouse went silent. Before Scootaloo could utter a single word though? A cyan finger was raised in the air and Rainbow demeanor was entirely serious.

"First? Don't you EVER claim that I of all people don't know what it's like to have bullies make your life a living Hell. Need I remind you all throughout High School everyone ragged on me for being a walking gay stereotype? And guess the fuck what kiddo? It was WAY worse for me in Middle School than you will ever have it in your lifetime. Trust that."

Rainbow kept her voice even only raising her voice to emphasis a point to Scootaloo. Raising another finger she kept a dead serious look on her face to ensure Scootaloo knew she wasn't playing around.

"Second? I know full well all the shit she put you through. You came running and crying to me about it all the time after you met me during my sophomore year. You should also remember at the time? Both Fluttershy and I were dealing with the reign of Sunset Shimmer in her queen bitch days and you should remember quite vividly how much of a nightmare that was for Shy. RIGHT!?"

Rainbow took that point in time very seriously. She had long since forgiven Sunset but she would never forget how far she pushed Fluttershy. How badly she almost broke her friend. She commended Fluttershy greatly on her inner strength for not breaking because if she had? Rainbow would currently be in jail for the murder of Sunset Shimmer. Raising a third finger she continued to speak.

"Third? If you weren't such a fucking chicken you'd already have Sweetie wrapped around your finger. But because you're too stuck hating Diamond and chasing my coattails you missed your chance to get what you wanted and now look at where you are. Lost in the closet crying all alone wishing you could have something you had every chance to take."

Hearing Rainbow call her that word. She hated being called that word. Rainbow KNEW she hated being called that word. Calling a daredevil a chicken was an incredibly offensive thing and Scootaloo responded the only way she could fathom how to at this point. Lunging at Rainbow Dash she threw her smaller body at her and swung her fist but Rainbow was of course faster, grabbed her arm, twisted it behind her back picked her up and then pinned her to the beanbag chair and sat on the small of her back in one swift motion.

"Too slow kid" Rainbow said calmly keeping her weight on Scootaloo enough to where she couldn't break free.

"Aaaargh! Fuck you Rainbow! Let me go!" Scootaloo trashed and struggled trying to get free but Rainbow was bigger and stronger than her. Her tears sprung anew as she screamed and lashed and thrashed to try and get free but to no avail.

"Not until you calm the Hell down. Cause like it or not? You're gonna apologize to Twilight. She didn't do anything wrong and you just up and made her cry because you wanted to be a bitch and let your emotions step out of line. I won't have anyone upset my friends; not even you"

"Spirit of loyalty my ass!" Scootaloo retorted.

"This is a great display of loyalty. If I didn't care I would have just said fuck it and let your friendship with Bloom and Sweetie go to shit and let sleeping dogs lie. But I wouldn't be a very loyal friend if I did that now would I?" Rainbow said keeping her pinned. She had done close to nothing when Sunset was bullying her other friends back in those days and she wouldn't let history repeat itself; for the longest she held a grudge against Sunset for what she did and almost made some of them do. Namely Fluttershy. She didn't want that kind of darkness to befall the CMC if she could help it.

'I hope Sunset and Twilight are alright. This may take awhile. Also hope Shy managed to reach Rarity. Something tells me an intervention is in order.' Rainbow thought as her pseudo sister thrashed about trying to get out from under her.

Fluttershy's Living Room

'I really hope Twilight and Scootaloo will be okay. I can tell they are both hurting pretty bad.' Fluttershy thought as she walked through her home into the kitchen after having settled Twilight and Sunset down in the living room so the two could relax and Sunset could comfort Twilight in her time of need.

Fluttershy as the element of kindness knew the in's and out's of her friends most sensitive and softest feelings that people would often keep hidden. Whenever one of them was upset and needed a kind shoulder to cry on, a kind ear to listen, a kind heart to confined in; Fluttershy was always there. When Rainbow Dash got made fun of for her appearance by bullies in High School calling her things like 'Pride Parade' and Rainblow Trash after some mean girls spread nasty rumors about Rainbow giving blowjobs to boys around school to prove she wasn't gay; Fluttershy was there for her.

When Applejack would get down about people making fun of her for her Southern roots and country way of life? Fluttershy was there to bright up her spirits and remind her that farm work wasn't a waste of time. That she was doing good helping provide the town with a lot of its fruits and vegetables and even taking in stray animals the shelter could no longer house.

Back when Sunset was still going through her redemption phase back during the early days of their friendship when Sunset was still very distant and rather cold? Fluttershy was the first one to really give her a chance, the first one to truly extend her hand to the one who had tormented her so. Sunset was by far the worst bully Fluttershy had ever had to deal with in her life and Sunset knew that. Sunset made it a point to prod and push Fluttershy every single day. From taking her lunch money to public humiliation with no way to tie Sunset to the crime; Fluttershy endured it all up until the time Sunset had gotten her comeuppance.

Thinking back to those days she remembered how Sunset's entire demeanor changed after that night. She had become more reserved, quiet,no where near as snarky and of course she had stopped bullying Fluttershy. In fact there was a time when Sunset had stopped coming to school all together which had caused her and the other girls to worry about her but at the time they were all still a bit wary on how to handle the situation with Sunset as a whole however Fluttershy knew or at least had an idea on what needed to be done and the first step to that true redemption that Sunset had sought? Was forgiveness.

Not only did Sunset need to find it in her to forgive herself but the girls whom she had wronged the most needed to find it in their hearts to forgive Sunset for the Hell she put them all through and while it didn't happen right away? In time slowly but surely Sunset Shimmer found the forgiveness she'd sought and the first step to that was hearing a few simple words and Fluttershy was the first one to speak them to her to which she can remember he reaction to quite vividly.

Having entered the kitchen and gathered the right ingredients to make the kind of tea she knew would calm Twilight down she began to think about her friendship with the nerdy girl. Among the girls in the group she and Twilight and Rarity were of course the most sensitive and feminine which each of them knew and were not ashamed of. Fluttershy knew she could be meek, a wallflower and a bit of a crybaby but her friends didn't think less of her for these things; in fact they loved her just for who she was and never tried to force her to change.

Rarity was a drama and gossip queen on top of being very posh to the point of being ridiculous. She held herself in very high regard and to high standards to the point where she could and often did get easily triggered at little things however this had begun to become less of the case since she started dating Applejack just as Fluttershy had started to become a little less shy since dating Rainbow Dash. Rarity would always be a posh drama queen and they never hoped for that to change but she did learn to not spread gossip as much or make assumptions about people which was good growth for the fashionista.

Twilight was a very special case however. Much like Fluttershy she was an introvert and a wallflower however it was a little worse for her because she was also a genius the likes of which made it hard for her to easily relate to those her own age. She had always had trouble making friend and the one she did make back when she was very young? Ended up moving away when she was little but thankfully moved back to attend CPA during her senior year of High School.

'I wonder how Flash and Moon Dancer are doing?' Fluttershy thought as she began preparing the tea in the kettle on the stove. She had varying types of tea in her home as whenever she had company she would offer them tea first instead of soda or juice. Twilight's favorite was jasmine mint with two sugars and a single lemon, a savory and soothing tea that often helped her think and relax. Sunset also like this kind of tea for much the same reason though it wasn't her favorite as Sunset had stated her favorite tea could only be found in Equestria.

'I hope Rarity isn't too busy. Last I heard she really had her hands full with her sister now living with her.' Fluttershy thought to herself as she turned on the stove allowing the water in the kettle to heat up. A lot had changed for the seven of them over the past year and for Rarity one of those things was that her little sister Sweetie Belle had moved in with her at the request of her parents whom had decided to retire and travel after their father hit the lottery. With money from both her Equerstrian self and her parents she was quite set to take care of herself, her growing business and her little sister but that didn't mean it was any less stressful for her.

'Dealing with a younger sibling is a challenge in of itself though Sweetie Belle is a lot easier to deal with than Zephyr Breeze' Fluttershy thought as she rolled her eyes with a small sigh thinking of her little brother. She didn't like think of her only brother as a pain in her butt but he was such a tool! He was a lazy hipster who constantly tried to hit on Rainbow even after they had come out as a couple he had tried to flirt with her that is until Fluttershy set him straight like a big sister should.

With another sigh she shook her head and freed her mind from distractions as she pulled out her cell phone and scrolled through to find Rarity's name. Pressing the call button she held the phone up to her ear and hoped Rarity would answer with the quickness she often did whenever Fluttershy would call her. Luckily she was correct and after the 2nd ring Rarity picked up.

"Hello Fluttershy darling; to what do I owe the pleasure of the call?" Rarity replied in a cheery manner.

"Hi Rarity; I hope I'm not bothering you" Fluttershy replied in a happy manner of her own

"Oh pish posh darling never! I always have time to talk with my bestie. Whatever is the matter darling? You sound rather dejected...is everything alright?" Rarity could always tell by the way Fluttershy talked if something was amiss and her instincts were telling her something was in fact wrong.

"Oh well um yes but not with me exactly. It's Twilight and Scootaloo." Fluttershy said as she began to get ready to explain things to Rarity.

"Twilight and Scootaloo? Why whatever happened? Did one of her experiments go awry again?" Rarity asked curiously with a touch of concern.

"Oh no nothing like that but um it is still quite important. You see Twilight was coming to visit with Sunset to drop off Spike and Smolder for their check-up's and some playtime and well heh you know how Twilight, Sunset and Rainbow can be..." Fluttershy said with a slight giggle as she remembered how much fun they were all having before things turned sour.

Rarity giggled in return as she knew full well what Fluttershy meant. They of course were the MOST feminine among the rest of the more tomboyish girls in their group of friends and so Rarity was well aware of the girls tendency to roughhouse and prank one another. "Indeed."

"Right so Twilight had stayed on the front lawn while Sunset and Rainbow magic chased each other around town and Scootaloo is here too. She was picking out a pet to take home since her aunts finally said she could have one and also said it may help with her recent um 'behavior problems' " Fluttershy said cautiously.

"Oh dear I know! Why things between her and Sweetie Belle have been simply dreadful! I've tried to get Sweetie to open up about it but the poor dear gets into a huff whenever I so much as bring it up." Rarity said in a huffy tone herself seemingly pouting.

"I remember we talked about it a little the last time we went to the spa. I thought they would be able to work things out but it doesn't seem like they've really talked about it much. When Twilight made mention of her and Diamond dating Scootaloo blew up at Twilight and stormed off...Twilight well...didn't take it very well." Fluttershy said trying not to give away to much in case she felt Twilight didn't want her to tell.

"Oh my is she alright?" Rarity asked now absolutely concerned, she too knew of how emotionally fragile Twilight could be at times and would personally have words with Scootaloo herself if that's what it took!

"Sunset is in the living room comforting her now. I was just about to put on some tea and Rainbow is out back dealing with Scootaloo and from the sounds of it and the rattling of the treehouse? Rainbow is having to get a little rough with her." Fluttershy said wincing as she looked out the kitchen window to see the treehouse in the backyard shaking and thrashing.

With a tired sigh Rarity replied. "What are we going to do with these girls?"

"Is Sweetie home right now?" Fluttershy asked

"Actually yes. Last I checked she was in her bedroom practicing her singing; she's truly been coming into her own with her voice you know. Those lessons from Adagio and I really took to heart. Hehehe I even think I caught glimpse of her writing a song for Diamond." Rarity said with giddiness in her tone but then it shifted back to a more serious one as she knew this was no time for romanticizing.

"Regardless I do believe I know what must be done. Will Diamond be required to be present?" Rarity asked.

"Is she available?" Fluttershy replied.

"Hm well I will have to see. The poor dear has been going through quite the trying time as of late what with the divorce of her parents over the revelation that our families are distantly related but too far branched from one another to matter if my sister and Sweetie Belle date." Rarity scoffed and continued. "That and her family is rather stuck in a time where they think being homosexual is social blemish! Why I never!"

Rarity fumed as she recalled Diamond detailing the circumstances of her life at home which had become a lot harder since she'd decided to stop following her mother and father's way of thinking and acting after being humiliated and socially wrecked by a new mean girl to come to CHS after the Rainbooms had graduated named Cozy Glow. A seemingly nice and sweet as sugar little girl on the surface but in reality? She like if Diamond Tiara and Evil Sunset Shimmer did fusion and were raised by Lord Tierk.

After this event Diamond found herself with no friends. Not even Silver Spoon. Cozy had effectively knocked Diamond off her high horse and the only person who was willing to extend out her hand in generous kindness? Was Sweetie Belle. It was at this time that Diamond and Sweetie began to get closer and closer, eventually they had worked together to expose Cozy for the fraud and cruel child she was getting her expelled. It was after that time that Sweetie and Diamond started dating and Rarity could not have been prouder of her little sister.

Ever since then she had personally been helping young Diamond Tiara become a new young lady in her own right that would not fall to the same sins as her parents and those who came before her and the road to redemption was not an easy one as Diamond in her spoiled youth had done quite a bit of damage that would take time to heal but it was doable just as it was for Sunset. This made Sunset incredibly proud of Diamond as well which only added fuel to the fires of anger she felt at Scootaloo for bad mouthing her the way she had heard she did.

"Well hopefully you can find and bring her here. Please let me know as soon as you do" Fluttershy pleaded as she wanted this to all be resolved quickly.

"But of course darling. I shall go fetch Sweetie and we will go and see if we can locate Diamond Tiara post haste. Do go tend to Twilight dear. I'll call you back in a little while."

"Okay; thank you Rarity."

"Not a problem darling. Ta-ta." Rarity would hang up.

As she would hang up in return she hear the tea kettle boiling and shouting. Going over to the stove she turned it off and took the kettle off the stove with a pair of mittens shaped like kitten paws. Pouring a few mugs that held a few teabags each she filled them enough to make sure they didn't overflow adding in sugar and lemon briefly afterwards. Then a small thought came to mind and she smiled as she thought of a way she could cheer Twilight up.

"Angel. Could you be a dear and go grab me a couple of fresh red and green apples please? Two of each." Fluttershy said calling to her #1 assistant and pet Angel Bunny. The fluffy little white bunny would hop over and salute as he would bounce over to the fridge opening it skillfully and grabbing the apples she asked for and closing the fridge. With a kind smile she then said. "Feel free to grab a bag of mini carrots for yourself too"

Angel visibly smiled at his own hopping over to give her the apples and a small hug to her ankle which made her smile. He would then hop back over to the fridge and grab the treat she said he could have which was of course his favorite next to the yummy carrot cake she would make him on special occasions.

"Thank you Angel." Fluttershy said as she placed the apples on the counter after petting the little bunny. Once they were set on the counter next to a couple other ingredients she would place the mugs of tea on a tray and would walk into the living room to present them to Twilight and Sunset. Upon walking into the living room she smiled sweetly at what she saw and she let out a heart melting.

"Awwwww" Fluttershy said as she looked upon her two best friends in each others embrace with Twilight having calmed down considerably but not entirely. Though she looked very content cuddled up next to Sunset, her face buried in Sunset's bosom and arms wrapped around her midsection.

'They're so cute together.' Fluttershy thought as she felt the butterflies rumble in her stomach as she adored seeing a sight as cute as this especially when things seemed so bleak moments ago when Twilight came inside crying in Sunset's arms about what Scootaloo had said and it was her dearest hope that once Rarity arrived with Sweetie and hopefully Diamond? That Scootaloo would be willing to do the one thing it took to move forward.
