Chapters Prologue (the birth of a legend)
"You can't win this Concorus," said the hooded figure that stood over him, staff pointing directly in the middle of his chest, "admit defeat and I will allow you to witness the birth of your foal."
"You mentored me, King Chronon (Crow-non)," Concorus smirked, "You should have known from the beginning, I don't fight fairly!" And with that last sentence three cannons workers came out from behind the shattered pillars in the throne room as they locked onto the archaic king. "Any last words," smiled Concorus barely able to contain his glee.
"I may lose this Battle here, but heed these last words: You will die like me here today, but it will be by your unborn foal's hoof at which your blood will be shed," said Chronon as he bent his head and closed his eyes accepting defeat.
"Well, well, even facing your death you try to intimidate me," said Concorus as he clapped slowly, "After you die here I'm off to take over all of Equestria and end Celestia's rule forever, too bad you won't be alive to see it, finish him."
With a loud boom, the old king's life went out with the flash but he was smiling, "Yes, " he thought, "You shall finish him for me, Gizmo. "

Lightning struck as Concorus ran down the halls of the infirmary looking for room 6. The shrieks and shouts were telling him he heading in the right direction. All of a sudden the shrieks stopped and he picked up the pace.
(A.N. This is the blood and gore of this next few paragraphs could be strong for this is the birth of a child those of weak hearts may want to skip down I will announce when it's safe to start reading again)
Concorus burst open the door and saw a sight that could make a seasoned fighter cry in fear. The Doctors and surgeons were running around a Pegasus with her stomach open and empty losing blood by what seemed like gallons. She was shaking and convulsing but held out her hand to Concorus and looked at him with bewildered eyes. All the nurses were gathered around a table moving in quick fluid motions on a writhing blood covered foal.
(Its OK to come back now but quick overview: Concorus ran into the operating room found complete chaos with His wife dying after a C-section had to be preformed)
"Con- con- conco-," the Pegasus sputtered.
"I'm here my Jewel," stammered Concorus as he stumbled his way over to the mare.
"I'm not long for this world," she breathed, "You look after our colt now, his name his nam-" she went into another convulsion.
"We shall name him what you want," said Concorus his voice was soft.
"Thank you my love...," her voice trailed off as she handed her life over to death and breathed her last breathe.
"Sir?" said the lead doctor, "She's dead."
Concorus sat there for what seemed like an eternity. Eventually he got of his knees and looked at his colt. "He shall be named what his mother had decided," stated Concorus. A nurse rushed to a file cabinet scribbling into the file she had created earlier. "Gizmo," whispered Concorus, "My little colt, Gizmo."

Chapter 1 (resistance of temptation)
"Again!" Yelled Concorus at a white colt with a short blade sword in his mouth.
"I'm trying," muffled the Pegasus through the sword in his mouth, "I'm no good with a sword, let me switch back to the chain whip, please."
"Fine," sighed Concorus, "But when somepony challenges you to the throne you have to be ready to defend yourself and this families honor Gizmo."
"And I will," said Gizmo as he spat the sword out of his mouth, "But I'll do it with a chain whip." Gizmo picked up the stainless steel, silver embroiled handle and flew into the air whipping the tip of the chain in the air and crushing all three targets in one swing of the chain and landed back on the ground with the tip of the chain whip falling heavily beside him. "Guess were done for today," smirked Gizmo.
"Fine but you know you're not allowed to leave the castle," sighed Concorus.
"Yes Father, I'll obey father, I know the outside is scary father," replied Gizmo sarcastically.
"Don't use that tone with me, yes outside is scary you could get mugged or kidnapped..." stated Concorus
"Dad, I'm 22," whined Gizmo, "Can't I just take a peek outside."
"No, and that's final," stated Concorus.
"Fine," sighed Gizmo with mischievous intentions already brewing in his mind, "I'll be in my room if you need me."

Gizmo was at his work bench, blue prints in hand he did have a bunch of tools as a cutie mark for a reason he just hoped he had enough rope to shoot the zip line to the next castle pillar. he couldn't fly or else the automated air defense system he set up would send him crashing into the ground so this was his only chance. He was determined to find out what that clearing was out there beyond the fields. Finally done with attaching the rope to his arrow and fixing him self a handle to slide down the line and aimed for the banks tall air vent and hit exactly where he aimed. "Well what do you know those long range weapon training weren't a complete waste of time. " He slid down the line and fell into a cabbage stand. Flipping the stand over, he jumped out and ran as fast as he could, dodging the cabbages being hurtled at him by the stand owner. As he ran he noticed how truly bad people in the city had it and realized he had been pampered all his life and how much these people really had.

Gizmo Got to the outer wall with little complication beside lying through his teeth and hiding from higher officials that might recognize him. But now he had a 57 foot high wall that was 3 feet deep and riddled with guards in it he could fly but get risked being spotted it would take 3 millennium to dig under the wall and he didn't have the ability to smash 3 feet of concrete with his head. Which meant he would have to talk the 4 Unicorns into opening the gates. "Well I got this far, what could be the worst that could happen?" sighed Gizmo.
"Halt, who goes there," Said a dark blue Unicorn. He wore the same imperial white robes but with yellow lining along with the rest of them which symbolized they were gate keepers and were more importantly, the only thing between him and the outside world.
"Me, Prince Gizmo." stated Gizmo. He hated having to revile the fact he was royalty but he had to get through those gates.
"State your business in leaving the kingdom," said the dark blue Unicorn again.
"Checking the farms," said Gizmo. He could tell they were confused and he put his brain to work. "You see... ah, you see since I'm getting older my father wants to make sure that I have the proper responsibility to take the throne when he's gone and what's a better test than making me check on subjects outside of the kingdom."
It seemed to satisfy them until the dark blue Unicorn spoke up, "He wants you to go alone?"
The color drained from Gizmo's face. "Uh... you see..." his lie was sputtering. "This is a test so he wanted to see how good I am." It was the worst lie he every told but they bought it and opened the gates. He was off to the Valley know as Ponyville.

Gizmo tried his best to stay away from any contact with any farmers that would be working their fields. He had been walking for a few hours and was sure he was being looked for by now but he knew if he stopped the guards might find him and he wasn't going back until he knew what was in that valley.
Eventually he reached the end of the wheat farms and found himself looking at the Everfree forest. He had heard tales: ponies going in and not out the monsters that lurk in the trees and the evil poison joke, but he didn't care he had to get to that valley. He couldn't explain it but it was calling to him and he had to find out the truth for him self. He remembered back to the past.
"Daddy," Gizmo sat at his fathers feet on the balcony, "what is that beyond the forest?"
"It's a simple valley, that's all," sighed Concorus.
"But what is in the valley?" Asked Gizmo.
"Gizmo, you must promise me never to leave this castle, let alone go past the outer wall," said Concorus as he stared at Gizmo with serious eyes, "The outside is a dangerous place and you could get hurt."
"Come on Dad, I'm six, I think I can look after myself," groaned Gizmo. Concorus looked at him sternly, "Fine," sighed Gizmo, " I promise."

He was travailing through the forest each twist and turn was making him more confused. he could barely tell where he was going and it was slow progress with him constantly looking down to make sure he wasn't stepping in in poison joke. He didn't want to start sing show tunes and using the head of a hammer to screw in a nail. Every time he would come to what seemed like the end he would just find some big rocks or dead tree that lead to shattered hopes and more forest. Eventually he found his way to what looked like a ruined castle. He decided to take a look just in case but what he found in side was weirder than he has ever witness in the castle he grew up in. There was no thrones, no decorations and shattered windows. In fact, the only thing even remarkable about the room was a strange pedestal in the middle of the room. It looked as if it had originally held some kind of objects atop of it but they were gone now. He decided to forget about the strange pedestal and look for somewhere else to sleep. He eventually found a nice nook and swiftly went off to sleep.

He had been wandering for hours now and his body was rebelling because of the empty hole that was making its self heard in his stomach. he would have killed for a piece of bread. Finally the grass got softer and it became easier to see or at least it was until i bright flash of pink said hello and scared him into subconscious.
(AN-This chapter is basically to show how Gizmo's childhood went and his experiance through the everfree forest, please give constructive criticism, thanks)
