"Come on Octavia!" the orange mare cries, "Your never any fun. Just one more time? Please, for me?" Carrot Top gives Octavia her best puppy eyes. The grey earth pony rolls her eyes and groans. "Okay, okay. But just this once and only because I don't have the heart to say no to a face like that."

Carrot Top bounded out the door of the room they were staying in saying "Haha! Now hurry up, we should have met up with Lyra and Bonnie over fifteen minutes ago." Octavia sighed and trotted out the door after her closing it behind them and followed the over excited Carrot top down the road to the farthest side of the east village of the University. In case you haven't guessed Carrot Top likes going out on adventures.

Once at the end of the road they walked through the open space to the where they then met up with the rest of the little group. it seemed they did stuff like this almost every night now and Octavia couldn't probably take much more of it before she would begin to fall behind on her music theory studies.

"What took you two so long?" Lyra complained, "We were about to go on without you two." The still bouncing orange blur responded "Little miss reluctant here took quite a bit of convincing." Octavia groaned "Can we just get this over with? I haven't had much sleep this whole week because of you guys and I don't think I want to miss out any more than I already have."

"Oh don't you worry your little head about anything. You'll be fine." Carrot top said patronizingly to Octavia while patting her head. "Sooooo, I'm guessing that means everyone's ready now?" Asked Bon-Bon who was still a bit apprehensive herself about how these midnight runs around the town might affect her grades, but she would never say that to any on her friends lest they heckle her about her studious disposition. "What are we going to do tonight then Lyra? We've already done just about all the things you can do at night in Ponyville." asked Carrot Top who had only stopped bouncing to ask the question.
The minty unicorn replied "Oh we haven't done every thing yet, there's still one more thing we can do..." she paused for dramatic effect, "The Everfree Forest." Bon-Bon and Carrot Top gasped while Octavia just groaned. "Alright lets get this over with, it can't be as bad as the bar last night can it?"

Before they knew it they were already deep in the undergrowth of the Everfree. They had been walking in silence jumping at sudden noises for about a half hour now. "So did you have any ideas of what we'd actually be doing when we got in h-Eeep!" the confectioner squealed because she walked into a stray branch she hadn't noticed the other mares giggled and Lyra replied "Come to think of it no, I actually wasn't expecting to get this far, I figured you would all be too scared." Octavia suddenly feeling insulted saying "Hey! what's that supposed to mean?" before Lyra could respond there was a deep growling. "Are you really so childish as to actually growl at me?" The gray mare said icily.

"T-That wasn't me." Lyra responded quavering. "Well than what was it?" At that moment a large wolf stepped out of the shadows. The mares screamed and tried to run away but it was too fast.
It latched onto Octavia's leg biting deep into her ankle. It felt like she was being set on fire. She cried out in pain but the thing only bit deeper. Her friends had turned around when hearing her shout and raced to her rescue. They kicked at the wolf until it let go and slunk back into the woods. "Omigoshomigoshomigoshomigoshomigoshomigoshomigosh!" Carrot Top was hyperventilating "Are you okay, do we need to see a doctor, how are we gonna get you out of here?!" Bon-Bon started calming Carrot Top down while Lyra was helping Octavia up.

It was a long walk back to the University, they would have stopped by the school nurse's office but they closed at 8 and right now it was about 1 am. After walking Octavia back to her dorm where she was staying with Carrot Top and bandaging her leg they stayed with her until about two before deciding that they should probably let Octavia sleep.
It wasn't a very restful sleep, she had many a nightmare most of which involved that wolf thing she was attacked by in the woods. By the time Octavia had finally awoken she was covered with a thin layer of sweat and her bandages although I won't go into detail definitely need replacing.

Luckily today was a day off so she had plenty of time to take a shower, replace the bandages and do whatever a pony might do the day after being bitten by a likely rabid wolf. So she did just that, after freshening up a bit she decided to go out to go out and visit the school nurse to get the wound properly cleaned up and bandaged, but that could wait until after lunch.
As she ate she almost felt like she was being watched, she passed that off as just her being paranoid. She ate much more ravenously, suddenly feeling like she hadn't eaten in weeks. As she ate she thought back on the events of the previous night. She suddenly realized that she hadn't seen Carrot Top this morning but knowing that mare she was probably off playing games or something with Lyra.

Once she was finished she went to see the nurse, just to get the bite checked out. She couldn't help but feel like she was being followed but when she looked behind her the only pony she was a white mare with wild electric blue hair and purple shades wearing a white hoodie. So she continued walking, the nurse's office was all the way on the other side of campus and she had so sort of limp all the way there.

Just when she was about to get close the the building she was quickly dragged aside. When she turned around to face her assailant she noticed it was the same white mare she had seen walking behind her. Ready to the defend herself she snarled "Who are you, what do you want?" The hooded mare said softly "Calm down alright, first thing's first, I can't let you go in there." Octavia surprised that she wasn't being mugged now curiously asked "Well why not?". The white unicorn sighed saying "Your gonna have to come with me, I can't have you going about showing of that bite of yours to just any doctor."

The first rewritten chapter (The one this little note is on), won't be changed all that much. The chapters will become progressively more different as I get further through this rewrite.
