Hot Bloodby Bro DashChaptersNot Pony, DragonIn the Heat of the NightTruthInstinctNot Pony, DragonToday is the day Spike turned sixteen, the beginning of his breeding age, and in his prime too. He had been working on his body tone, working out, but only enough to help, and never went overboard. No protein shakes, no equipment. Just simple exercises. He loved active games, and often invited over a few dragons to play a bit of lava ball in the nearby volcano. It was like a marathon race there, and back. Twelve miles of running, or flying, the first one there got to pick the first team member for the game. And then comes a perfect conversation for the walk back. "Man, after today's game, I'll be picking obsidian out of my scales for a good couple of days!", Spike sid excitedly. "Calm down, dude. Really, I don't see where you get all that energy from.", the red, slender dragon asked. "Meh, I just go with it." "So,", the blue, large dragon started, "When do you plan on finding yourself a mate?" The entire group stopped, including Spike, who was mostly off in thought, now. "He's right, dude.", the yellow, brawny one spoke up, "You need to find yourself a female soon. A cute dragoness, to accompany the hefty, stud dragon!" "I...", Spike began, "Understand, but...I don't know what to do...Out of all the things that I learned naturally, this, I just don't know." "Dude, quit worryin about it. It'll come naturally, just like everything else, if you catch my drift." "I know, but, there are no dragons where I live, I with a purple, lonely, librarian, possibly lesbian, unicorn mare." "Dude, you just gotta leave ya swag on.", the black dragon spoke up. "I have absolutely no idea what swag is.", Spike deadpanned. "Sure you do. You've got enough of it already to get maybe, three females to crawl over ya. Ya just gotta use it right." "I still have no idea what you mean." "Look good, walk by, don't acknowledge the first one that tries to catch your attention. If she follows you, you got a good chance. But you're on your own, dude." "Maxus, I'm not black." "But ya purple! That's pretty close ta black." "Yeah...but I'm not black. Guys, I'll just do this on my own, how hard could it be?" "About as hard as it is for you to start running!", the red dragon sprinted off down the road. Clicking a second later, all of them were off, headed home, another marathon being run. "Yes...No...Yes, yes...No, no, yes, yes, no, no, no...Good, that's it, we've got all that we need, Fluttershy. Thanks again for helping me make this new spell." "You said it was to make a new spell, I didn't expect ti to involve...ugh...dead lizards...the poor thing..." "Don't worry fluttershy. It's for a good cause, he won't be used in vein, I promise...Unless this somehow messes up..." The items scattered across the floor were engulfed in Twilight's glow, placing them in the proper places. The spell circle drawn glowed as each was placed correctly, and Fluttershy meeped when a spark went off, signaling the completion of the spell, readying it for use. "Alright! Fluttershy, don't move, don't even breathe, so, take a deep breath, and please hold it, I promise it won't take long." Fluttershy nodded and took a deep breath as Twilight's horn glowed, swallowing the air into her lungs. Closing her eyes, she felt the wind around her swirl, the smell of the magical dusts entering her nostrils, and the slight tingling sensation in her hooves. A loud scream came from twilight and an explosion. The room was cleared of the spell circle, a dark black ring spiking out from where Fluttershy was. The book twilight had was charred, the ceiling somehow caught fire, but burned down, snuffing itself out, and the magic sprinklers turned on, showering the room with a magic spray that only cooled everything, not soaking it in water. As Spike neared the treehouse, his friends gone, the sun low, he heard a scream, and an explosion. Remembering what happened last week with Twilight and alchemy, he would think the same for every scream he heard, followed by an explosion. Bursting through the door, he nearly threw it off it's hinges, entering the room and scanning it. Finding Twilight next to the door, he picked her up, shaking her awake, and receiving another scream. "It's alright! Twilight!", Spike assured. "Oh...Spike...Oh, thank heavens you're here!" "What happened?" "Well, that's the thing. How did I even get here, how did I get inside of my library when I was just in Canterlot?" Twilight was in Canterlot the morning before. "Wait, you were in Canterlot this morning. You got back before lunch." "What? And...What's that in the middle of my home? The pillar was moved again." "Well, you could have lost your memory, Twilight, let me help pick up, and we can figure this all out." "I guess...that would be fine?" Spike was at work, looking for the dust pan and broom. He swept up most of the debris, and stopped when something caught his eye. A small, yellow, scale. Raising an eyebrow, he turned around, looking for anything it could have come from. The small knick-knacks on the shelf which could even possibly have something like this on it, had scales, but none matched this one in size, color, or shape. Her heard a small growl come from the corner, and turned, seeing only a dark shadow. Go figure Twiligth would barely light the place for the feel of the black magic spells she so desperately tried to learn. But it didn't sound like a growl the second time, more like a moan. Spitting fire into the nearby lanter, he bent down over the still dark object, and reached out, waking whatever it was as he accidentally touched it. Whatever it was yelped, then moved, throwing charred dust everywhere. "Wait.", he examined his hand. It was partially covered in black dust, same as he was sweeping up. "What happened here?" "Oh, Spike, it's just you...", Fluttershy sighed, shaking herself of most the black dust. Spike's mouth dropped. She stood on her hind legs, balancing by one paw as she dusted herself off, then examined her hand with curiosity. "T-t-t-twilight?!" Twilight poked her head in the room from the staircase, looking at the two. "Spike? Who is that?", she said, squinting her eyes. Spike looked at Fluttershy, then turned to the black stained circle on the floor. He connected two and two, then it hit him. "Oh, wow, Twilight, congratulations. You managed to change Fluttershy into a dragon." "What?", Fluttershy asked. "I did?", Twilight walked down from the staircase. "I remember you had me in the middle of a bunch of things, a circle, even. I closed my eyes like you said and then you screamed after a few seconds, then I was thrown back, hit my head on the wall. I guess I was knocked out." "Wait...I...Remember...Oh Celestia, help us all..." "What is it Twilight?" "Black magic. I involved Flutershy in forcing black magic out of the world around me, and...whatever came out, was angry, translucent, and fused with Fluttershy. She was changed into a dragon by black magic!" "Then, you can change me back, can't you?" "I'm afraid not. Black magic is damage and permanent magic. It usually causes damage, but also makes changes to anything permanent. Like stupidity spells we use, they only last a while before wearing off. Making a black magic stupidity spell would make a pony lose his entire thought process, and you'd never be able to cure him." "But...I....", Fluttershy shuddered, looking herself over. She calmed down, find her new body a bit more...satisfying. The curves that rounded her chest and belly, her rump, and her long, slender, cute tail. Spike was staring. "Actually, I'm ok with this!", Fluttershy smiled, stretching her arms above her head. Spike nearly shuddered. Fluttershy grabbed her soft breasts, groping them, feeling them like they weren't her own, "This is new." Spike held down the pressurized air in his throat, swallowing the breath. Fluttershy grabbed her tail, examining it and revealing her plump bottom. Spike fell over, passing out. In the Heat of the Night!!WARNING!! This chapter contains heated, lustful actions. Read at your own age, please. Spike was hazy eyed when he woke up, first, sitting up, then feeling his head. He had a small headache. "Is he alright? Was it my fault?" "No Fluttershy, don't break out into an apology fit." "Really, Fluttershy, it's not your fault.", Spike sat up, still half asleep. "I'm sorry, Spike, are you alright?", Fluttershy asked. "Yes. I'm fine." "Well, it's nearly nine o' clock. Fluttershy, why don't you go home?", Twilight asked. "Well, it's dark and..." The door swung open and Fluttershy meeped, hiding behind Spike. "It's just Owlowicious.", Twilight closed the door, "Or, rather Owlowicious Junior. Owlowicious passed away three years ago. He was a strong Owl, I'll give him that." "Oh, H-hello Owlowicious Junior."Fluttershy peaked from behind Spike. "Who?" "You." "You, the owl." "Who? You are Owlowicious Junior." "Who?" "You.", Fluttershy repeated. "That's all he says, Fluttershy." "Oh...I'm sorry." "Well, you can stay here for the night.", Twilight suggested. "Thank you, Twilight. I'll just sleep in here tonight." "Ok then. I'll get you a blanket and something to sleep on. I've got a spare mattress shrunk by magic in the closet." Twilight disappeared, returning with a miniaturized bed, setting it on the ground. She engulfed it in her magic and it grew to regular size. "Oh, thank you Twilight, but, I could have just slept on the floor." "Nonsense. I wouldn't let you sleep on the floor, knowing I had a spare mattress in the closet!", Twilight smiled. "But, this is a full bed, blanket and pillow included." "Ok, so it's a bed, not much difference. It doesn't really matter anyway, you've got a bed." "Well, thanks again, Twilight.", Fluttershy said sleepily. "Well, I'm getting tired to, and you, Spike. You look like you're about to fall over." "Exhausted days happen.", he replied. "Come on Spike, time for bed." Twilight lead Spike upstairs, leaving Fluttershy alone in the first room, lit by candle light, and empty. A few shadows on the wall, and a flicker here and there, she was terrified. Hurrying into the bed, she covered herself, closing her eyes shut tight. Sitting there, trying to relax, she eventualy found herself falling asleep, and soon enough, fell asleep. Her dream consisted of hot-cold weather. One second, she was hot, in a desert, then snow blanketed everything, then back to the desert. It cycled like this for several hundred times before Fluttershy woke up. She was indeed too hot, and too cold at the same time. Breathing heavily, she took a few deep breaths, calming down. But still had that hot-cold feeling. She got up, throwing the hot covers off, and feeling very cold, even in the middle of summer, she was cold, as if sweating, and walking through an icy wasteland. Hurrying to the kitchen, she got herself a glass of water and drank it, feeling the heat nearly emanate from her as she brought her arms close, having filled the glass a second time. She sat over the sink, hands on the cold metal, and thought. An itching bead of sweat streaked down her thigh, and she scratched, quickly finding her thighs were soaked. Her entire inner thigh was hot and sticky, and still soaking further down as she stood. Then it hit her. The smell of pheromones in the air were a bit much for her, and she felt a bit cloudy minded, a few...ideas coming to mind. "Fluttershy?", Spike walked down from upstairs, stopping at the bottom. "I'm...fine...", she lightly panted. "Fluttershy, you sound like you're out of breath.", he walked into the kitchen. The smell of her heat hit him like walking into a cloud of perfume, the aroma nearly choking him as he quickly became accustomed to the pheromone heavy air. "Oh, Celestia, you're in heat...", he shook his head. "How can I be in heat? It's not that time yet." "Dragons go into heat at random sometimes." "I can feel it burning...", Fluttershy held her head over the sink, as if about to vomit. Spike had to sit down, clear his mind, so he sat on the bed. No sooner did he feel Fluttershy wrap her arms around him, locking their muzzles. Her scent filled his nose, even stronger. Drunk off of pheromones, Spike just went with it, wrapping his own arms around her, deepening the kiss, his tongue exploring something other than his own mouth. She rubbed her thighs against his, stirring his male hood. For a few minutes, they just sat there, kissing. Fluttershy rubbed her inner thighs against his leg, grinding her nether regions against his tough scales. It soothed her for the time being, at least satisfying her. But it wasn't enough. Fluttershy broke the kiss, feeling something prod against her. Thick, hot, and throbbing. She looked down at his large male hood, proud of itself, erect. He laid on the bed, putting his head on the pillow, and let Fluttershy crawl on top of him, connecting their hips. She grind against his huge shaft, feeling it throb against her nethers. Even that was bliss to her. It soothed her lusts a bit more, though not enough. Sliding her thighs forward, the let the tip of his shaft prod at her entrance, part her soft lips. Feeling so naughty, so...bad, it excited her. Spike grabbed her hips, shovign the tip into her wet folds, gliding in till it hit a thin barrier, and ripped through. Fluttershy gasped and held her breath to keep from screaming out in pain. Spike felt her shudder on top of him and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her, and staying as so. Too scared to move on her own, Fluttershy took a few ragged breaths. Pushing her thighs against his as hard as she could, she only hissed in pain. Spike grabbed her hips once more, lifting her. It was like a partial relief, easing some of the newer pain, but it still hurt. Slowly sliding her back down, it was a lot less painful, and glided smoothly. Fluttershy let her held breath go and pressed against Spike, grinding against him as she moved up, and down. They kept at a slow pace, enjoying it, savoring it. Fluttershy grind her body against his, he thrust into her. It was like even their heartbeats were in sync. His, strong, hard, hers, soft and gentle. Every inch of her inner walls were rubbed against, grind against, violated by lustful intentions. Though, it felt like heaven. She was stretched more than she thought possible, his shaft just ramming into her cervix. Then she felt it. His tip pierced her deepest reaches, just the tip, but she felt it deep inside, where she thought nothing should go. It felt amazing. She wished he would go further, fill her insides completely with just his shaft. She sat up, putting her hands on his chest as she bounced up and down, only to be met halfway as he thrust up, into her depths. Like a game going back and forth, they thrust into each other, trying to further themselves to the oncoming end. With every thrust, she let out a lungful of air, taking quick breaths in between. Twice she felt she couldn't get enough air, and had to take a few quick breaths. She bit her lip, easing into him, just trying to reach the impending end. He climaxed first. She felt her insides, filled with warm, sticky cum, her belly full, and even more poured in, like a faucet. It only excited her, and she came close after, her juices mixing with his, soaking their thighs. Forcing herself against him as hard as she could, she could feel everything, from the jet, to the throb of his shaft. Her mind had grown numb moments before, and having climaxed, she was completely out of it, her mind dimming, as if she were asleep. Collapsing onto Spike's chest, the two panted heavily, each pouring hot breaths over each other. Finally catching their breath, they fell asleep, both dreaming pleasant dreams. TruthThe day after passed a bit too easily. Twilight didn't see them together, thankfully, as Spike had gotten up to get ready for his party. Yesterday was his birthday, true, but, unbelievably, Pinkie Pie couldn't host, nor could Vinyl Scratch be the DJ. Now, he sat at a table at the party itself, the sun still high. The many presents he was given were an assortment of food, clothes, and even a few bits, a few gold trinkets to wear. The day was mostly empty of anything fun in his case. His friends had shown up, even invited him to join the game of volleyball everyone was playing, but Spike wasn't up for it. He had something else on his mind. Fluttershy especially, since she hadn't been seen at the party, and Rarity. If anything developed between him and Fluttershy, then he'd have to confess to Rarity. They weren't exactly together though. They just weren't. Granted a date here and there, but never often, nothing else. A small relationship, to be exact. Though, Spike found himself tiring of just one mare. He could hook up with Fluttershy for a while, maybe go back to Rarity, or just...stay with Fluttershy for good. "Spike!", Rarity's voice broke him from thought. It relieved him. He didn't know why but every time Spike heard Rarity's voice, it soothed his stressful thoughts. Turning to the mare, he flashed a smile, only for it to quickly fade. "Rarity." "Oh, good to see you again. After Celestia helped me advertise my dresses, I've been in Canterlot, running my business ever since. It's a wonder I could even get away from the shackles that held me in my office.", she joked. "Well, it's good to see you too." He didn't smile. "Spike, are you feeling fine? You're always happy to see me." "I know. It's always soothing to just hear your voice. But right now, I have a few things on my mind. I'm just worried about something else is all." "Oh? What is it, dear? I could probably help." "You couldn't, that's the thing. It's just, I'm trying to figure out what to tell you." "Tell me what?" Spike was about to speak, but let the breath go, sitting down. "Fluttershy, as you know her a pony, is now a dragon. One of Twilight's spells went wrong. I'm not even sure if she can fix it, or if Fluttershy wishes to even be a pony again." "Are you...are you saying that you're leaving me for my...best pony?" "No! No. It's just...I guess I'll jsut say it. But, please don't tell anyone else. I have enough to think of already." "Fine, I guess I can keep my mouth shut for you, but I'm still waiting for an answer." "Female dragons go into heat randomly sometimes. And, last night, Fluttershy went into heat. I woke up from her rummaging through the kitchen and went to check on her...it's easy to figure out what went on afterwards." "So you had an affair? That's even worse.", Rarity said with an agitated tone. "Not exactly. More of a mistake." "A mistake is right. I think you shouldn't speak to me for a while." "Rarity I-" "No. No. Don't bother trying to apologize.", Rarity turned from Spike, trotting off with her nose turned up. Spike sighed and rubbed his forehead in thought. The party ended, the sun set, and Spike went home. Fluttershy didn't show up. So, instead of staying till the end of his own party, late at night, he walked home. Walking into the library, Spike ducked under the doorway to avoid hitting his head. Twilight was busy with plenty of books, several levitating around her as she read, reading one book, rotating, reading another, each, bit by bit. "Twilight?", Spike asked. "Yes, Spike?" She didn't lift her head, didn't stop reading. "What are you doing this time?" "Researching everything on black magic that I have in this library. And so far I have found good bit of fitting info to what happened to Fluttershy." "Really?" "Yeah, basically, she was turned into a dragon because you are a dragon, and you live here." "So...Never conjure where you carve?" "Exactly.", Twilight closed all books at once, stacking them neatly besides her. "Twilight, have you seen Fluttershy today?" "No, why?" "Just checking. I told her that if she was craving metal, to tell me immediately." "Why? Is it a dragon thing?" "Females only, yes. Random times, no." "Oh, so it signals, "that time?"" "Uh, you could say that." "Well, in that case, no. Hey, did you meet Rarity? She didn't answer me when I asked of you from her." "Oh...We broke up." Twilight went wide eyed, "What?" "Yes, it's true. She broke up with me though." "How could you have done something so bad to her that it would make her break up with you?" "A mistake." "Spike, what are you not telling me?" "Something happeed between me and fluttershy..." "Spike, tell me you didn't..." "I did." Twilight gasped. "I guess I have no excuse. She was in heat, and the pheromones can drive a male to mate with the sickest of females, it's happened before.", Spike confessed. "But Spike, this is Fluttershy! What if she gets pregnant?" "That's why I told her to tell me if she was craving metal, so we could take care of it." "Spike, she's your friend, though, she was a pony!" "I know, but that's not what I meant. I was hoping to, fix everythign magically, and when she found out that the baby died, I'd tell her that it does happen sometimes..." "Spike, you're speaking of forcing an abortion! Why would you do that?! Above that, why would you ever think of it, much less, do that to Fluttershy without telling her, then lie to her face when she is weeping, having lost something as wonderful as a child!" "Twilight, calm down..." "No, I get it, you're just not ready, you're afraid, it's all obvious!" "No!", Spike yelled, "It's just that...I can't, not with Fluttershy. What if you figure out how to change her back, and doing so would cause me to lose interest, and I leave her because she isn't a dragon anymore?" "Is that all you care about, her as a dragon? Is that the only reason why you even have stronger feelings for her?" "...Yes...I am horrible for admitting it, but yes. Before, I only saw her as a friend, now I want to get closer, and it will just cause problems, both emotionally and physically..." Twilight couldn't argue anymore. He was right, all of it was true. He wasn't a dumb dragon. "...But...", Twiligth started, "What if she chose to stay a dragon, or I can't figure out how to change her back?" "Then it would be different. Twilight, don't give up figuring out how to change her back just because it would fix everything. I don't like living in lies. If she choses not too, just to make us both happy, just because of me, I'll talk to her..." Twiligth was completely defeated. "I understand. But you've lost Rarity, who would you look for, if not Fluttershy?" "I'd find a female passing by during migration, or go on my own, look for one...", Spike said, a bit sad. "I'll continue looking for a way to change her back.", Twilight returned to her studies, this time, reading one book at a time. Spike felt terrible. He had told nothing but the truth, just to make a point, and it is only causing problems. All because of the mistake he made. InstinctThe next day, the morning was quiet between the two. Spike didn't eat. Twilight didn't either, and was reading a book. Setting down the tome, she looked at Spike. "I figured out half the spell. I should be done by tomorrow." Spike nodded, not even looking at her. A knock at the door stirred them both, Twilight getting up and opening the door. "Oh...Fluttershy." Spike was out of ideas, he didn't knwo what to say, and thinking of what to say the nigth before, he thought of nothing. "Hey, Twilight.", Fluttershy walked in. "Spike...Told me what happened the other night." "Oh, he did? Did he tell you about the metal craving thng?" "Yes, if you were craving metal, it meant something, in fact, he didn't tell me what, exactly." "He told me that if I craved metal, and I would crave a lot, if so, then I was pregnant. So far, not a singel craving for anything, except maybe a few gems, but nothing more. I never thought emeralds and sapphires woudl taste so good!" She was happy. Really happy. But Spike had to tell her something. "So, it's clear tha tyou aren't carrying." "No. Not at all. I admit, I've been having a bit of trouble with teh animals. they don't like my new body at all, they're scared of me." "Well, you are a dragon." "So...Uhm...Do I still have to change back? Ya know, do I really have to be a pony again?" "Why do you ask?" Fluttershy shifted her eyes to Spike in the kitchen. "Well...I...I think I'm kind of rushing into it, but, it's for Spike." "I'm sorry Fluttershy, but...he said to me that he couldn't do it." "B....b...but..." "She's right. A relationship built on lust only lasts so long, and in the end, ruins the connection between two lovers." Fluttershy began to breathe raggedly, first nearly bursting into tears before she ran outside, flying off. "could you have been any more heart breaking?" "It's because I was her first. Because we mated. Because we locked in steamy lustful actions, it would all be lies, the relationship would sour...It was the most truth I could say about us without hurting her feelings." "Spike, she's very sensitive, though, what if she does something drastic?" Spike was silent. "Exactly, you didn't even think that through, did you?" "I can't believe I didn't think of that...I feel terrible." "You should, you made Fluttershy cry!" No one ever makes Fluttershy cry... Spike let his head fall onto the table, his hands on the sides, deep in thought over one thing. The big mistake he just made. After twilight got back, she looked at Spike with an upset look, then walked to the staircase. "She hasn't stopped crying since you told her earlier today." Spike didn't respond. "That's six hours, Spike." Six hours? Spike would have been surprised Fluttershy had been crying for six hours, but then again, she was very sensitive. She may cry for even longer, maybe up to four days. "I'll check on her tomorrow, I have to figure out how to finish the spell. Once I'm done, she'll be a pony again." Twilight began her ascent, then stopped halfway. "...Spike, are you happy?" "What?" "Are you happy that you completely crushed Fluttershy's heart?" "...No...I'm not..." Twiligth opened her mouth to speak, but walked upstairs instead. Spike heard the familiar hoofsteps as Twilight ran back to the tree, stopping at the door. She was running? Opening the door quickly, she panted heavily, trying to catch her breath. "Fluttershy...She's gone!" "What?", Spike looked up. "She's not in her cottage.", Twilight swallowed, "Not tending to the animals, all her animals are...gone, she's not there! Her room was messy, she packed and left!" This was definitely Spike's fault. Tilting his head back, he stood up. "Did you see her leave?" "No." "Did you check to see if anyone else did?" "Yes, nopony saw her!" Spike didn't know what to do now. Sitting back down, he put his head in his hands and let out a sigh. "Spike! You're just going to sit there?!" "What else can I do?" "Go after her.", Rarity interrupted, having walked behind Twilight. "Rarity?", Spike asked puzzledly. "Yes, love?" "But, I thought you were upset with me." "Far from upset, deary. I nearly cried for two hours last night. But, I understand that, being a pony, you and I wouldn't be forever. So, making the decision, I'd rather you be happy with someone of your species. So, go after her." Spike stood, "Rarity, you..." "I'm serious, that's the truth. If you drove her away bring her back." "I..." "If not for me, then for you. Twilight told me everything on the way here." Spike opened his mouth to speak, but closed it, letting out a sigh. He looked at Rarity and slowly nodded, walking towards the door. "I'll go get her." Rarity smiled, and moved out of the way, allowing Spike past. "Spike, you don't even know where you're going!", Twilight exclaimed. "Twilight, she's a dragon. And when this emotionally broken down, she's following pure dragon instinct. Only one place she could have gone now." "Spike...Be careful..." "I will." Spike dropped onto his hands, changing from a bipedal stance, to a quadripedal lay, then sprinted off, through Ponyville, following the straight road through, then on, into the fields. Within seconds, he was far from Ponyville, within minutes, he was in the mountain range. And in the next hour, he was past the mountains, going on into a tundra. The wind was icy against his scales, though, he didn't slow, or falter in any way. He kept his breathing normal, and continued on. It began to stretch further, the icy landscape reaching out past the mountains ahead. And it wasn't long before he reached those mountains either. For the first time in the entire time he had been following his instincts, he stopped, just on a small peak, stretching over a huge ravine that was much too far for him to jump. It was about a hundred meters across, all along it. Backing up, he put a good distance between him and the rock, pacing back and forth, thinking of how to overcome this obstacle. Then a bit of knowledge was rewarded to him by instinct. Something that dragons and their ancestors could do. While they were massive beasts that were immortal to time, they had massive amounts of their own magic. This fueled their frie breath. The fire breath being signature, and the easiest. Spike knew more than that now. It may be one thing, small, not so much as a fiery breath, but he knew more. sprinting forward, he approached the outcrop faster this time, his hands and feet catching fire, and burning an acid green as he got closer. The gap was at his hands, and he jumped, leaping forth. Before, he would have not made it, and may have plummeted to his death. But he cleared the gap with ease, even flying forward, landing at least half the gap farther away than the edge. He landed hard, and continued, magic fueling his speed, and keeping him from slowing down. He came to another obstacle, and easily cleared it as well, jumping from wall to wall till he was across the gap, and still going. Nothing could stop him now. He ran for so long, not finding a single sign of Fluttershy in the sky, or on the ground. Dragons followed this trail for millenia, and if he knew any better, she'd be at the end. A super volcano the next continent over. Spike had run a total of four thousand, eight hundred, and ninety seven kilometers, just to get to the boarder. There he met three of his good friends, which had made the trek as late as most teenage dragons. A sight to behold to Spike. He'd not see them till next year, and while it did warm his heart slightly to see someone he knew, he wasn't so easily relieved. They heard his footsteps first, stopping the wrestling match they were in to spot him just as he leaped over them, skidding to a stop. "Dude, is that Spike?", Roger, the red dragon, asked. All three got up off the ground and approached the purple dragon. His hands and feet were still aglow with green flame, amazing the three dragons like foals watching a display of fireworks. "Dude, that is awesome! How are you doing that?!", Blake, the large, blue dragon asked. "Guys, please tell me you saw a thin, yellow dragoness fly over.", he said exhaustedly. "Oh, you mean that hotty that flew overhead just yesterday? Man, that was one worth chasin tail for!" "Did she go off the usual path, at all?" "No, why, who is she?" "Because she's my mate." Spike took off again, hurrying down the path just as fast as before. He passed the boarder long ago, about two hours. But who's counting. He lost track of days after the eighth. Usually, it took a lot longer to get there on foot. But Spike wasn't making the trek there the old fashioned way. Breaking into the forest treeline, Spike came to a halt, letting his hands and feet snuff out before continuing on. Before long, he was through the forest, and in the distance, he could see the lava slowly flowing from the super volcano, down from the thick clouds. Many dragons were at the base, and even more so at the top. Spike was there in minutes, closing the gap through the charred fields, covered in soot, leaping onto the basalt base of the volcano, and even more quickly making his way up. Sprinting past others, jumping over elders, diving under giants. He wasn't going to be stopped in any possible way. Then he broke sight to the top, the usual ring of hardened lava, the island in the middle, and the many other, scattered rocks. The stronger of the dragons sat on the rim, protecting the king. The elite of the dragons, had private islands that rose from the lava, as their own. And in the center, the strongest dragon sat. Also known as the King Dragon. He was as big as Spike was, mostly because he was a young dragon like he, but strong enough to take down an elder dragon more than seventy times his size. Spike knew him as the King of the Skies, as last he saw, the dragon took down fifteen larger dragons than him during migration. He was the first young, rookie classed dragon to jump from rookie, to king. He was practically already a legend. Spike was looking in the crater of lava as much as he was the side of the volcano, trying to find any sign of Fluttershy's vanilla yellow. Flying to the other side, he took one glance before turning to the side of the volcano, and spotted her. But where she was hit him hard. She lay with the king herself, the two laying like lovers. Spike hesitated, but took a deep breath and dived into the lava. Fluttershy and the king both looked towards the sound of disturbed lava, and waited for something. Indeed, something happened. Spike broke the surface, diving out, then back in like a dolphin in the water. The next time he surfaced, he walked onto the king's island. With lava dripping from him, he shook off the excess, and turned to the two. A very small amount of scrap metal lay nearby, one specifically with a few teeth marks on it. Spike knew what it meant, but could care less. As he approached the two, he was tackled by two elite dragons, each much heavier than him, and effectively pinning him to teh ground like he were weighed down by massive metal blocks and chains. "Spike!", Fluttershy nearly screamed. "Spike? He looks more like a disobedient little mongrel to me." "Don't you talk about him like that!", Fluttershy commanded the blood red dragon. The king looked her in the eye, tapping a claw on her side, and dragging it slowly down teh length of her side, trailing it to her belly, and dug it just between two scales in the center. fluttershy's heart nearly stopped, having been easily frigthened by the sharp claw placed between two of her softest scales. He could easily end here right then and there. "Command me again and I spill your blood over this island. I don't care if you carry my child, there are plenty of other females." Spike growled deeply, forcing himself up under the weight of the two larger dragons. They dug their claws into the rock, and pulled, but to no avail did they keep Spike down. Pushing them off, their claws were yanked from their paws, leaking blood onto the basalt, and eliciting roars from both. Spike clawed one's throat, spilling blood and bit down on the other's neck, snapping the vertebrae. With both fallen, Spike turned to the king dragon. "Oh, looks like you're a bit stronger than I expect." Spike stayed silent. As he stood, his hands and feet caught fire, burning a vibrant green that flickered with his anger. "Oh, are you here to kill me?", the king teased. "I'm here for what is mine, only." "Oh? You mean...this?" The king forced his claws into Fluttershy's stomach, ripping them out to the side. Blood spilled from her gash, coating the rock quickly, boiling both rock and lava, as her heated blood was hot as the lava itself. Spike went blind. Whatever happened next, he would never recall. He moved fast enough to the point where his fist forced the king into the large, out jutting rock, effectively harming him. Spike turned to Fluttershy, his hands snuffing out as he reached for her. But as he did, she let out her last breath, slipping away from existence, right before him.
Not Pony, DragonToday is the day Spike turned sixteen, the beginning of his breeding age, and in his prime too.
