Spiders and Magic: A New Hero in Town
Spider-Man ducks as the ninja preforms a roundhouse. He capitalizes on his opening and gives a nasty uppercut, sending the ninja flying into a billboard.
"Oops." He winces, feeling immediate guilt for what he did.
"Spider-Man!" That was Spider-Woman, who unbeknownst to the clan was his sister. Mayday and Benjamin Parker, the children of Peter and Mary Jane Parker had taken up the mantle of the spider. Mayday was an adult and had been doing the hero thing since she was a teenager. Benjamin has only been doing this for six months.
"I know I know, hold back your powers." he says as fires an impact web at a swordsman. Spider-Woman yanks a ninja into the air before yanking him towards the wall she clung to. Spider-Man gives a thumbs up, ignoring his spider-sense as it goes off. Luckily Spider-Woman fires an impact web at the ninja behind him. She jumps down meeting his gaze.
"You need to focus. If you make a mistake one more time then I'll send you home." he knew she was serious. Her white lenses show him plus tone of voice was different. "And why are you wearing dad's Iron-Spider?"
"I'm sorry, but it was just sitting their in his room and well he's retired so I thought 'hey why not take it out for swing'."
"That suit is for dad in case of emergencies! Your giving that suit back to dad and your going to tell him why you took it!"
"Bu--"
"GO!" Spider-Man looks down. He turns slowly in case she changed her mind. He fires a web-line and pulls himself upwards and begins swinging away. Mayday sighs and turns back to the task at hand. Her spider-sense as well as Ben's go off like fire works. This forces Ben to begin making his way back to his sister.
"It's good to see you Spider-Woman. I get to test out this device that me and my men stole from Stark International." The man wore a full black attire. The only non black thing was the white spider on his chest. "As you see, I have found the symbiote that your father had tried to kill all those years ago. And you know what we both have in common?"
"Let me guess it's the exact same thing as every other baddie I've put away." The man smiles before charging Spider-Woman. She narrowly avoids being trampled. Mayday quickly gets to her feet and blocks a right hook and counters with breaking the man's arm.
The man makes space between the two. He watches his arm as the symbiote heals his wound. He snaps his head back as the symbiote blocks Spider-Woman's foot. The symbiote pushes her off its host, who rushes her. He lands a punch to her gut with his right and then delivers a left hook, sending her to the concrete.
The man is hit by a sound wave, causing himself and the symbiote to cry out in pain. Spider-Woman takes the opportunity to deliver a good ole roundhouse. He hits the ground hard, before bouncing away from his attackers. He fires a piece of the symbiote at the source of the problem.
"Dammit! He's jammed my sound--" Spider-Man jumps away from his perch point, the villain crushing the spot upon impact. Spider-Man lands next to Spider-Woman, looking at her for any injuries. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine. I think we should--spider-sense!" The symbiote powered villain presses a button. The device behind the two spiders activates and shoots a beam at them. Benjamin pushes Mayday out of the way, but gets hit by the beam. "Spider-Man!"
"No, I'm not ready mom. Five more minutes." the mares all stare at the bug looking pony that had fallen onto their picnic.
"Ummm...aren't we gonna like wake him up or something?" Rainbow Dash asks looking at her friends for any answer. Twilight sighs and begins to light up her horn. She points her horn at the a sleeping individual. She then releases a small jolt of electricity.
The pony leaps high into the air and lets out a scream, his voice cracking when he does. Once he lands, he blinks his blue eyes. He then proceeds to try and get up.
"Easy there partner. Here, let me help y'all out." Applejack tries to help out the odd looking pony, but instead gives him a fright. He stumbled on all fours without noticing. He looks at the six mares, plus a teen dragon. He then looks at his own frame and begins panicking once he saw that it was just like the others.
"Sir, I would like if you'd sit and calm down. I'm princess Twilight Sparkle, these are my friends. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and this is my assistant Spike. Would you care to tell us your name?"
"I-I'm S-s-Spider-Man. Is this real?" the others had a look of confusion written on their faces.
"Of course this is real!" Pinkie says popping up next to Spider-Man. "But what's a man?" she asks looking him up and down.
Benjamin was sweating bullets. He was scared and it was evident by his behavior and the way he talked. Luckily they couldn't see how scared he really was. "A man is well, it's a human. Do you know what that is?" Pinkie looks even more confused. Twilight walks up to Spider-Man.
"You said your a human? I've met humans before. I never thought that they'd get come here, but what's bothering me is that you fell from the sky instead of the mirror." Benjamin turns his attention to Twilight.
"Mirror?"
"I don't think your from there, but maybe a world similar to the one the magic mirror sent me to." she lends a hoof out to Spider-Man. He awkwardly takes it. Twilight helps him up. "I need you to try walking around, then go into a trot aka a jog, and then a full on gallop. Benjamin began to take slow steps, his body shaking.
"You can do it partner. Just calm yourself and take it slow." Benjamin nods. He begins calming himself by taking in long breaths. Benjamin begins walking, then trotting, before he knew it he was galloping faster than he normally ran. He skids to a stop in front of the girls. He smiles underneath his mask, his lenses shrink upwards to show a more positive look.
"I knew y'all could do it!" Applejack and Pinkie cheer for him. Benjamin's face heats up, giving him another reason to thank his mask. Twilight smiles when Spider-Man walks towards her.
"I really want to go home right now. So princess, if you could whip up a spell that can send me home, that would be greatly appreciated."
"I wish I could, but I can't. For one, I don't know where you came from. Since you didn't come out of the mirror dimension I can't send you back. Second, I've never really tried to teleport somepony to whole other world. And third, there's no princess who can do that. Maybe princess Celestia could've, but she's....just forget the third part." Spider-Man sighs. "I'm truly sorry."
"I know this is gonna sound rude, but can I trust you guys?"
"Of course you can. Why do you ask?"
"Cause if I'm gonna do this then I need you guys to promise me you won't tell anyone. Like I'm serious, you can't tell anyone." the girls promise him to keep whatever he was about to say or show a secret. His nano-tech mask removes itself, revealing the face of a young stallion. Rarity was taken aback by the pony in front of her. He was so young.
"No kid should have to be stranded here by themselves let alone face dangerous beings." Rarity thought to herself.
"My real name is Benjamin Parker, you can call me Ben. Spider-Man...that doesn't fit right anymore...Spider-Mane is just a super-hero name I use so the bad guys don't know who I am. My dad's actually the first Spider-Man. My sister's Spider-Woman--now I'm rambling."
"Your only a colt! This won't do....I'll let you stay with me from now on." Twilight says. Ben's eyes widen.
"Me...staying with a princess? Am I qualified for that?"
"It'll be alright. I'll just let princess Luna know that I'm having a visitor." she says this as she writes a letter. Twilight levitates the letter to Spike who blows fire onto the letter. The letter goes into the air and takes off.
"That's nifty." Ben says to himself. "Wait, why do you gotta--"
"Princess Luna and I have some business to talk about." Ben nods. "We should get going. You might want to get rid of the suit." Ben nods, the Iron-Spider shrinks down to the golden web-shooter on his leg. The web-shooter falls down and turns itself into a knapsack. Ben places the knapsack over his neck. He looks at Twilight, who wore a look of amazement.
"Hey Egghead! Stop staring and start moving! I'm sure Ben wants to get some rest, he must've had an eventful day considering since he's a hero and all." Rainbow says knocking Twilight out of her trance.
"R-right. Follow me Benjamin."
"This here is your room darling. If you need anything just holler okay sweetie."
"Thank you. And tell the others I said thanks." Rarity nods before closing the door. Ben had used the picnic blanket to cover his costume he was wearing underneath. The Iron-Spider was resting on the nightstand that was next to his bed. Ben gets into the bed and closes his eyes with only one thought in mind.
"How am I supposed to get back home if there isn't a way back?" Benjamin drifts off to sleep, thinking about his family.
"Well that's odd. I didn't expect someone from out of our world to drop in?" Starlight Glimmer takes a seat in her chair next to her teacher. "What's his name Twilight?" Starlight asks while taking a sip of her tea.
"Benjamin Parker."
"That's a nice name. What's he like?" Twilight looks at her student curiously.
"Your oddly interested in him Starlight." Starlight blushes. She looks into her cup of tea.
"Yeah sorry."
"Oh I see what this is about. Every time some stallion around your age shows up, you try to know more about them and try your hoof at the dating thing."
"I do not!" Starlight shouts back, her face getting red.
"Ms. Sparkle," Twilight and Starlight's eyes dart to Benjamin, "could you make me a cup of tea. I would, but uh..." he looks at his hoof.
"Don't worry about it. And you don't need to call me Ms. Sparkle or princess Twilight, its just Twilight." Twilight gets up and leaves. Starlight looks at Benjamin. She looks away once his eyes turn to her.
"What's your name?"
"S-s-Starlight Glimmer."
"That's a beautiful name. Guess this world is full of wonderful names!" Starlight giggles. Then an idea popped into her head.
"Hey, do you wanna see the town?"
"That be cool. After that I can update my HUD, after I get the suit back online."
"I could help with that." Ben nods. Starlight gets up from her chair and leads Ben to the entrance.
"Alright Ben, here is your..." she notices that both Starlight and Benjamin were gone. She smiles. "I'll just make sure to keep this warm. I hope Starlight has found somepony that likes the same things as her."
