Soarin groaned, “another sleepless night” he thought. it was always the same, ever since that evening at the Gala he couldn’t sleep, no amount of tossing or turning would help, his brain just refused to turn off. It kept thinking..... about those two mesmerizing green eyes at the gala, the way her hair was a simple golden hue which was simply held together by a cheap band, so out of place in that elegant take dress. Her splash of freckles on her face and that cute accent. He didnt even know her name and already knew she was something else.
However the part he remembered most vividly was the pie he bought, that was home-made goodness, the pastry was fresh and thick and fresh and so where the apples. it was a hell of a lot better than that instant microwaved pie he was used to,hell after that he couldn’t bring himself to eat that, it just tasted so artificial.
Unfortunately the alarmed clock rang and he was forced to get up. He dreaded training routines ever since the gala, he nearly hospitalized spitfire yesterday after falling asleep mid-flight. “O joy” he thought “ she’s going to buck my face... again” he winced as he remembered the first time he made a joke at her expense.
He made his way to his kitchen, still lost in thought before he realized that if he showed up to practice in this state he’d probably end up killing himself doing some ridiculous stunt which involved him going very fast and barely avoiding some obstacle. He realized there was only one way out of this and decided to take the day off.
He needed a vacation to relax and clear his thoughts on that blond mare. And there was a place his friends talked about. A quaint little place away from the “hustle and bustle” of Cloudsdale. It was close too, hell it even had a apple orchard, and an apple orchard meant fresh produce which leads to a hell of a pie, and without another thought he took off.
It was in the wee hours of the morning and AppleJack was up he groaned as she sat at the dinning table. Just on cue a platter of assorted apple based foods was placed in front of her. Big mac had taken the liberty to re-heat today’s breakfast. All of it was left-overs from the Gala and when-ever she ate it all she could taste was failure. She made about 10 bits and sole 1 measly pie to some fancy looking Wonderbolt.
“What was his name” she thought “aww shucks, he was pretty goofy in the way he ate, he seemed so out of place among all those fancy-shmancy folk.”
“What you thinking bout sis” came a warm comforting voice from behind
immediately she knew who it was, her older brother Big Macintosh
“it’s about that there gala ain’t it?” he asked
“aww hay Big Mac I dont wanna talk about it.”
“alright then but you know where to find a listening pair of ears” he replied
AppleJack finished her Breakfast and went about farmers normally do, bucking apple trees. Another Mundane day for her, until a rainbow cyan blur crashed into her at speeds which should have broken the 4th wall
“OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH”
said Rainbowdash
“What is it this time rainbow” replied AppleJack
“AWONDERBOLTISINTOWN” she said “NOTJUSTANYWONDERBOLTBUTITS,ITS” she trailed of into fan-girl squeals before AppleJack shoved a hoof into her mouth
“Now hold on there” she said “What in the hay are you talking about.”
Rainbow dash spat her hoof out before replying “WONDERBOT IN TOWN AND ITS SOARIN” she squealed and nearly passed out.
“soar-who now” she asked “is he the blue one that likes apple pie”
Rainbow Dash eyes open as wide as saucers and pounced on her in a pinkie-like fashion
“what the hay-”
“OMIGOH HOW’D YOU KNOW”
“I might’ve sold him a pie at the gala know would you mine getting off me”
Rainbow dash gasped “ MY FRIEND SOLD SOARIN A PIE OMYOSH”
AppleJack sighed “shes turning into pinkie” she thought
“Anyway hes staying at the evening hearths inn wanna come?” asked rainbow
“aww shucks there ain’t that many trees left to buck anyway so i guess why not”
“alright race ya there” she said
“o celestia” thought AppleJack as she tried to keep up with her winged friend.
