Training with Rainbow

They say the speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s.

They also say that the the absence of light is darkness so that means...

The speed of darkness is equal to that of the speed of light.

Well that's just my theory.

Why bring up this? Well when you're stuck with a bookworm named Twilight Sparkle, it starts to mess with your head.

When I first started my magical lessons with Twilight, she told me to make a journal to write down every spell I learned, my daily experience, and just a diary.

I originally rejected the idea of a diary, but I caved in and decided to make one, most of the time to let my mind go somewhere else and keep me sane.

Why?

This is the 15th day in Equestria.

Honestly I hoped that someone would already be here to rescue me, but I already had the deep feeling that no one would come.

Those who sent me wouldn't care about me and those who did care couldn't do anything to fix it.

My amped ability was unique. The only one who could have a chance to replicate it would be the same woman or one with a similar ability. The chances of one of them or her using it again, reaching it's full potential, and using it to save me was unlikely.

So yeah. Stuck in a land filled with ponies. Who are colorful. And intelligent. And smart. And are either strong, can fly, or use magic, or all three of them. And they are intelligent. And they can speak. And that they use the power of Friendship to win. And they can control the sun and moon.

Did I say already that they could fly?

BANG!!!

"HEY OPEN UP! I'VE BEEN WAITING OUT HERE FOR HOURS NOW!"

A series of flutters and an endless knocks on the window tormented me endlessly. I looked outside and saw Rainbow Dash, already preparing to tear through the window. I got up to the window and timed myself. I opened it, just when Rainbow Dash flew through it, causing her to continue flying until she slammed herself into the wall. Dazzed, she struggled to get herself up. I noticed she wore black gym clothing, as well as a red jacket, much like the one she wore the first time we encountered each other.

"Why are you here?" I asked. I was a bit annoyed at her rudeness, but glad to have some other voice around here. Rainbow Dash threw at me a weight, which I easily caught.

"Noticed that you're pretty tough, even without your special talent! You great in hand to hand combat! So let's see how well you fare against me!" Rainbow Dash said, grinning. I rolled my eyes. Piece of cake.

"But you can't use your ability, at least not yet." Rainbow Dash said. "Gotta see how well you fare against me without that, otherwise it wouldn't be fair for me with your endless amount of attacks." She got out of the window and landed perfectly on her feet. I followed suit, but not wanting a repeat of the time in the castle by hurting myself somehow, I planned my path out and then jumped, grabbing or sliding off of some objects before landing on the ground. I laughed at myself.

"Not the best I could do, but I learned my lesson from the castle." I said. Rainbow Dash smiled.

"Race ya there!" She yelled before disappearing in a rainbow streak. Honestly I wonder how she could go that fast. Was she born that way? Are pegasi all fast like her? Or is she one of a kind? I gotta ask her later. I stretching my legs I tried to find a speed ability. While for some reason I couldn't sense her ability anymore, I did feel a new ability.

Powering it up I felt a incredible surge of strength and speed pouring inside of me. I also felt another side of the ability so I powered on. I felt the strength and speed going away and dropping below my average, but also found that my defense and recovery had increased. A very strange but helpful ability.

Powering back into Offensive Mode as I would call it I ran at the castle at incredible speeds, dodging trees and somersaulting and heaving myself up rocks and branches. I skidded to a halt as I saw Rainbow Dash waiting for me, her back against a nearby tree. Of course she thought I would take a long while, since she was incredibly fast.

"Hello."

Which was why she jumped into the air, stunned and shocked to see me here faster than what she expected. She yelped in surprise, causing me to laugh

"Scared?" I said, chuckling. Rainbow Dash instantly frowned.

"I am not!" The cyan pegasus said as she flowered herself to the ground. She showed her fists and did some practice punches. "Now get ready!" She said. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Okay! Give me your best!" I yelled. Rainbow Dash grinned before vibrating as fast as she could, creating a huge array of after images around her. She suddenly flew at me and punched me in the face. I staggered and slid backwards on the rough terrain. She followed up with another attack but using my hand I used her own momentum, just like in the guest room, to launch her into a tree. This time though she was able to bounce back from the tree, only to fall in my trap as I ducked under her and punched her stomach hard. She gasp and started to fall. Deciding to follow up I grabbed her and threw her up into the air. Unfortunately she was able to recover and hovered above me.

"Now how will you be able to hit me!" Rainbow Dash laughed before diving down. Each time she swooped down to attack, I would try to hit her but she would always get out of reach before I did. She began to hit me with cheap shots, as her speed made it extremely difficult to see her, much less attack her.

How will I deal against her? I thought to myself as I ducked another attack. I got an idea, similar to the one I used against Stoneboy as the doctor said.

"Hey Rainbow! I bet you're so slow that you can't catch me and throw me into the air!" I yelled. Sure enough the cyan pegasus took the bait and tackled me. Grabbing me by my feet she towed me into the sky, higher than most clouds.

"Oh you're going to regret saying that!" Rainbow Dash yelled, preparing to drop me. I smiled as I suddenly grabbed her by the wings, causing her to lose control. In the midst of her panic I forced her to let go of me. Before she can recover I grabbed her from behind, and so when we hit the ground, she fell face first, making my landing softer. I got off and saw her eyes roll around, a sign of dizziness.

"I think I took this too far." I said to myself. Rainbow Dash began to get up, still dizzy.

"No problem. Dealt worse than this...." Rainbow Dash said, before getting a bit angry. "BUT YOU DIDN'T HAD TO PUMMEL ME INTO THE GROUND!" She said. I smiled.

"What's good of having speed or strength if you can't think rationally with it." I said, though I knew that I also lacked in that category whenever I raged and fought against others. Rainbow Dash grinned.

"Okay! Now show me your ability of yours so that I can train against it!" She yelled. I concentrated, feeling for that ability that I used earlier today. I felt its unique aura mixing into my own before amping itself up. A dark shadow formed around me as my eyes glowed. I created my own set of after images as I suddenly dashed at Rainbow Dash.

My speed somewhat paled to hers, but the sudden attack caused her to be stunned momentarily, giving me the chance to punch her in the stomach. She retaliated, but I used my new found speed to dodge it quickly. Ducking under her I began a fierce assault of punches at her stomach, causing her to twitch a lot in pain. A final punch and she was sent crashing into another tree. She slowly got up, a new found desire in her eyes.

"I'm going to beat you!" Rainbow Dash yelled as she roared as she flew at me in even faster speeds, speeds that could be impossible for me to dodge. I flipped my ability around into my Defensive form. The punch collided, causing me to skid just only a little back. I received some damage but it was only a scratch. She was puzzled at this and during that phase I used that opportunity to change into offensive again and her her back.

"What is that!?" Rainbow Dash yelled at me as she rebounded off the tree to attack me. Again my body turned rigid as I dropped my speed and power to increase my defense and recovery.

"It's called the Phase Shift Ability. I can sacrifice my speed and strength for defense and recovery, and visa versa. I amped how big the boost will be but let me try this." I said. My fur (body) began to blacken, the sign of going into defensive. I began to break the limits of the form by using both at the same time. Eventually it was too much for the restraint to handle and I broke it, amping and increasing both my strength, speed, defense and recovery. Rainbow Dash grinned, knowing the battle will become harder than ever.

"Okay so I won't hold back!" Rainbow Dash yelled as she suddenly dashed at me, her speed increasing even faster. She punched and I blocked, and to my surprise it actually damaged me slightly. Since the faster an object is, the greater its force. Of course me being rigid meant that basically Rainbow Dash punched a stone wall, causing her to yelp in pain. I retaliated and punched her, causing her to skid backwards. She landed on the ground and immediately got back up, kicking the air with her feet in case I came to attack. Using this futile and unnecessary attack to my advantage, I grabbed her by the legs and began to spin her around. Used to spiraling out in the sky she touched the ground and rebounded, hitting me in the face with a powerful buck. I let go, giving her the opportunity to escape. She ran around me, causing a tornado to form around me. I laughed.

"This is nothing!" I yelled as I laughed, only to realize that I was having difficulties to breath. She laughed.

"Oh now you're in trouble!" She yelled. I started to lose my breath, being outsmarted by the mare. Should I try to escape? No the wind would push me back in. Should I try to attack her? Low probability of success.

Time to change the direction of the wind.

A tornado of my own began to form around myself as it made it sound the opposing direction of Rainbow's wind. The winds clashed for dominance, each one trying to one up the other. I grunted as I pushed harder, and slowly my wind began to expand and slow her's. I felt the oxygen escaping though and started to lose concentration.

C'mon c'mon! I yelled mentally as I pushed faster. I suddenly found her in the midst of her rainbow streak. I roared as I poured all my energy into the my wind, causing it to form one and slicing through her wind. She collided with the wind which was dense as rock, causing her to stop. The tornado slowed down, letting me breath again. I fell to the ground, breathing heavily to restore my oxygen supply. A minute passed as we both recovered. I saw her beginning to recover. Knowing her that she never would quit I prepared another ability.

A dark dome formed around her, covering her completely from all angles including underground. She looked in shock and tried to break only to help in pain as she felt her own attacks become reflected against her. I began to close my hand, making the dome begin to shrink. She was forced into a ball where I had her. She was uncomfortable but not being squished to death to say.

"Yield." I said, my voice monotone. I saw her eyes. She wanted to continue this fight but after seeing the situation she sighed.

"Fine."

I opened the barrier, helping her get up. I smiled.

"You're pretty good." I stated. She smiled.

"You're good too, but I know why." She said. "We should do some other competitions later that doesn't require our abilities!" She said. I sounded fair to me.

"Okay. When can we have our next round?" I said. Rainbow Dash thought for a moment.

"Well we can continue still!" She said, though I noticed she was still suffering from the pain of the battle.

"Why don't we rest for another day shall we?" I said. Rainbow smiled.

"Okay... But next time I'm going to kick your butt!" She said excitingly. I smiled.

"We shall see." I said, before the both of us laughed.
