The Lion Sion of Pride in Equestria
Fernando, A.K.A Fer is a twenty-five years old man living a normal life, He lives in Spain Barcelona, He works at a bar close to Catalunya, Fernando's life is quite regular, He wakes up, then goes to the gym, takes a bath or shower depending on the time he has available, then he gets some breakfast and finally goes to work, Fernando repeats this cycle every day, One day like any other, He was working at the bar, serving drinks, nothing out of the ordinary for him.
“Fer, are you going to the concert this weekend?” Marco asked Fer, Marco has been working in the bar with Fer for three years, they liked the same kind of music, anime, and many other things. They became friends since day one.
“I have to ask the manager again, and find someone to cover my shift,” Fer replied while serving a customer a drink.
“Don't forget that!,” said Marco with a smile, “I have to go Fer, Ana is waiting for me, her Dad is in town, and you know how she gets if I let her wait a long time...” Ana was Marco's girlfriend, she worked for a while with us at the bar, but she got something better.
“Yeah... you better run the last time I made her wait she threw a shoe at me, when I didn't get to work in time when she was covering haft a shift for me,” Fer said among snickers, “And we're friends, you're her boyfriend, and her dad is in town, so whatever she does to you must be worse than that...”
“Yeah...” said Marco, with a little fear in his voice, “I see you tomorrow! Fer!” And with that, Marco left the bar, leaving Fer alone, but it didn't matter, only a couple of hours to close the bar, what could go wrong?
It was almost time to close the bar, Fer was serving the last drinks when a couple of men came in looking for trouble with one of the clients in the bar.
“Jose, where are you bastard!?” shouted one of the men with a bat in his hand, while the other guy was looking around the bar, “Come out! you think you can sleep with my sister and throw her out like a prostitute!”
'Great, such a good time to leave me alone, Marco... 'Fer thought as he saw men armed with bats and possibly other stuff walking inside the bar.
“I told you to come out, you bastard!” The man that was shouting hit one of the glass tables with the bat breaking it into hundreds of pieces.
As the men were getting more violent, Fer was frantically pressing the button under the counter; the switch was supposed to call the police, out of nowhere man a shouted behind one of the tables, “Your sister knew what she was getting into, Paul!"
“We came here to kill you! Jose, nobody messes with my sister! You son of a bitch!” said Paul approaching Jose.
"Don't make me do this! Paul!" shouted Jose pulling a gun out his jacket, "She's not worth it!"
When Jose pulled out the gun Paul's companions responded doing the same thing, the people at the bar were panicking, a girl was screaming and one of the guys at the bar was throwing up, in three years working at the bar, something like this had never happened! I was about to pee myself.
'This is beyond my pay grade...' Fer thought while trying to get on the ground, like everyone in the bar beside Jose, Paul, and his companions, but as Fer moved towards the floor, one of the guys shoot their gun, he thought the for a second they were shooting Jose, but haft a second later he started to see everything around in black and white, like one of those old movies, Fer slowly started to feel pain in my chest, and looking down saw some blood coming out of him.
'I don't want to die...' Fer thought as he started to lose consciousness, as his body fell to the ground, he heard some other shoots, and soon everything was black.
POV - FER
~Wake up~ a voice I didn't recognize said in between echos.
I tried to open my eyes, but it didn't work, the same thing happened with any other part of my body, I didn't feel my arms, my legs, I felt nothing but my mind.
~I guess I should have been more specific with what to wake up, awaken your conscience, your mind, your soul.~ Said the voice in the dark again, ~You must be wondering if you're dead, and it's true, you bled to death in the bar, what a pathetic way to die, hehehehe, then again I don't know anything about dying, being immortal and stuff~
'Where am I?' I asked, I gotta say its weird speaking or communicating without your mouth.
~ Hmm, tough question... Humans call it limbo, the name changes depending on the species, so there is an infinite number of answers for that question, it's the last step before the soul recycles and starts the cycle again, ~ said the voice, ~what you should be asking is why are you still here? That's the real question, human. ~
Limbo? So I died, and a mysterious voice was talking to me, what the hell, 'What am I still doing here?' I asked the voice.
~BINGO!, YAHTZEE! That's the important question! ~ said the voice, ~You're here for my entertainment, all souls pass through this astral plane, none of them lasts more than a couple seconds in this plane, but from time to time the gods decided to sweeten things a little hehehehehe~
'I don't understand, what do you mean? ' I asked.
~You don't need to understand it, you have no choice in the matter, you are not the first soul that the gods move, and you will not be the last one, many of the chosen find happiness, others find eternal suffering, it all depends on how you play the cards that have been given to you human, ~ said the voice in a more harsher tone.
'Reincarnation?' I asked, finally getting what the voice was talking about.
~Our rules are simple, three gifts will be given to you, whatever you decide to do with them it's your choice, have fun, ups I almost forgot, you will lose part of your memories nothing significant, enjoy your new life or suffer through it, It's your choice, bye-bye human.~ said the voice, and again I started to feel my consciousness fading away.
'I wonder what kind of things await me.' was my last thought inside Limbo.
Fer felt like he was thrown out of a building, His body was in great pain, when he finally opened my eyes he found himself in a forest at night, he could hear the animals moving, the owls in the shadows, the night was particularly beautiful here, every star was clearly unobstructed for everyone to see, it was beautiful, he tried to get up from the ground, but ended up falling to the ground, he noticed his body was different, under the moonlight he could see it clearly, he had no hands, he had hooves, and a light brown coat all over my body, “I'm a pony!? Don't tell me this is the world of My Little Pony!”
he began to breathe to calm me down, after all, there were worse worlds in which to reincarnate, “There is only one way to check my theory,” with that he slowly turns his head to see his flank, seeing it he saw a mark with a lion with a sun behind it. “What's my special talent supposed to be? , meowing at the sun? Lion tamer...?”
While he was having my existential crisis, something started to make noise, something was coming closer to me, and he couldn't even walk, how the hell was he going to defend himself or at the very least run from the danger, "I hope it is a cute bunny looking for some food..."
Out of the bushes, a Griffon came out with a sinister smile, one thing was to see these creatures in a cartoony way, and another is to see them in real life, he was flabbergasted to see them, and why in the hell the griffon they had teeth under their beaks, it looked bizarre. “Another pony over here, Captain!,” shouted the Griffon.
"Hey, can you tell me where am I?" He asked the Griffon, 'If I remember correctly in the MLP series, the griffons were the closest thing to humans in terms of behavior.'
But instead of answering the Griffon approached him and with great strength, the bastard hit the pony with a stick on the head, and again, he began to lose consciousness. 'Today is not my day... '
I don't know how long I was unconscious, but when I opened my eyes again, I found myself wearing a metal necklace around my neck in a cage with at least a dozen ponies around me, “Where am I...?” he asked.
“Somewhere around the Equestrian border, they're taking us to the Griffon Empire to serve as slaves,” said a mare next to me with a sad and defeated expression on her face, she was a Pegasus, I noticed she had some metal bindings on her back stopping her wings from moving freely, “My name is Blue Sky, what's your name?”
"My name..." he tried to remember his name, but nothing came to his head, it's like he never heard it before like he never had a name, “I don't remember, maybe I got hit harder than I thought.”
“It sounds like something they would do... since the war began things like this are common.” Blue Sky said with an empty smile, “If they take you out of the cage, do whatever they tell you to do, if you don't, they are gonna make you suffer more than the normal amount.”
“Ok, not that I can do much anyway.” he replied looking at the full moon, ' Two minutes in a new world and I end up as a slave, that's gotta be some new world record.... what kind of Equestria is this...? Where are the friendship and shit? '
POV - NAMELESS PONY.
The hour's pass and no one in the cell made a single noise; everyone had accepted the cruel fate bestowed upon them, I heard someone approaching, once he was close enough I saw it was the same Griffon that knocked me up. “Newbie!, the captain is waiting for you!.” With that the Griffon came inside the cage and pulled my collar dragging me around the camp, while I was being dragged around the camp, I noticed about twenty Griffins and some diamond dogs around the camp eating and drinking.
“Here it is, captain! the new pony I captured last night,” said the Griffon throwing me into a camping tent like a piece of meat.
“Thank you Veldor, now go and start cooking breakfast!, the sun should be coming out in a few minutes and I want my breakfast ready before it does!,” shouted the captain making Veldor flying towards what I think was the kitchen, once Veldor was out of the tent he started to look at me, he had a bunch of scars, one eye was completely blind or at least it looked like that and his beak was broken, "My name is Ararth, and I'm the captain of this camp, I make sure we get enough Slaves every month for the great Griffin Empire!, if you don't work or do what we tell you, you end up as the breakfast, we are the hunters! and you are nothing but the prey, do you understand?" he said, approaching me grabbing me by the collar.
I could see in his eyes that if I didn't respond as he wanted, he'd cut my throat, I was scared... “Yes, I understand.”
"Good, Now what's your talent pony, I need to know if you have something we can use.?,” said the captain dropping my necklace. "You're an earth pony perhaps something with plants or the likes, farm work perhaps?"
The sun was rising; I could feel the first rays of the sun touching the camp; I felt strange; I felt different; I felt powerful... “That's none of your business,” I answered my voice was a little deeper, who does he think he is, demanding stuff from me.
That made the gryphon captain jump out of his desk with a knife on his claw, ready to kill me, “Apparently, you didn't understand your place in life pony!” He tried to cut my throat with the knife, but the blade broke like a crystal when it touched my skin.
"What in the hell are you?" the Captain said with slight fear on his eyes, I decided to ignore such pathetic question, my body was growing, and the chains that they dared to put on me broke as my body became more prominent and stronger each second that passed.
“You're the one who doesn't understand his place in my world,” I said as I looked that pitiful creature in the eye, “I hope you're ready for the repercussions of your insolent actions,” with that I punched him in the stomach, the blow threw him flying out of the tent leaving a path of blood on his way, all the Griffins and Diamond dogs were looking at me, “Now attack all at once, the result will be same regardless, the moment you decided to mess with me, was the moment you forsook your lives."
The captain had died with a single punch pathetic, but it was to be expected after all I had been his enemy...the griffons, and diamond dogs threw themselves at me with the intention to kill me, one by one I killed them like the flies they were, until it only remained Veldor the Griffon who captured me last night, he was shaking on the floor in fear in front of me, with a sigh I said, “The least you could do is accept your death without fear, but I guess I ask a lot from the likes of you, get out of my sight,” with a blow, I made his head explode, leaving my hoof with some of his blood and bits of his brain on it.
“Disappointing, but no one can blame them really, their enemy was no one else but me, so their fate was sealed,” I said walking towards the cave where the other ponies where, as I entered the cave and approached the cage with a single movement of my hoof I broke the door holding the ponies in, “The insolent pigeons who dared to give me orders and their lapdogs are dead, come out,” no one came out of the cage..."It seems you think that was a suggestion, that was an order, get out of the cages!" with that the ponies came out running, and a familiar face approached me.
"You're not joking, right?" asked Blue Sky with tears in her eyes, "Please don't let me have hope if it is a lie."
"Hmph such an insolent little mare... calling me liar," I said looking at her from above, my body had grown and was now much more significant in terms of size than any pony in the camp, “Do you doubt my might?, or you think those pathetic little pigeons are a threat to me, either way, you're insulting me.”
"So you killed them," Blue Sky said with a new expression of happiness on her face, how could she doubt my word, my might knows no bounds. "Thank you!" with that; she hugged the strange pony.
"Hmph," with my mouth I broke the bindings on her, including the ones blocking her wings.
She stopped hugging me, and she said, “Your body is scorching, are you sick? Do you have a fever, perhaps?. And now that I think about it, how in pony feathers did you double your size in this short amount of time..?”
“That's none of your business, now let's get out of this forest,” I said as I walked outside the cave, where I found all the ponies outside watching the dead bodies of their captors, crying with happiness and relief, some of them ran towards me to hug me, other were looking at me with admiration.
"You are incredible." Blue Sky said, looking at the strange pony with awe.
"That's an understatement, but I'll take it for now," He replied.

The sun had risen, and every second that passed I felt better, I was able to walk in four legs without any problem, I was at the top of everything, it took me an hour or more to understand what was going on with me, the power that had been bestowed upon me, Sunshine, Starting from sunrise, my power begins to increase and I begin to grow larger, But my personality changes from my usual self to a prideful version of it, with the process reversing with the setting of the sun. In the daytime, My physical strength increases dramatically, and I'm able to radiate intense waves of light and heat is easily capable of melting metal and of course, my enemies.
My cutie mark was the first clue, but this morning everything was confirmed, which means that in a couple of hours I will not be able to stay with the ponies that I saved, as the heat that will emanate from my body will surely kill them.
After I released them the ponies decided to make me their leader until we got to Equestria, and it was an obvious decision, there was no one more fit and capable in the world for that mission.
“It will take us three weeks to a month to get out of this forest,” Blue Sky said, “The others are picking up everything we can use along the way,”
“Perfect, we'll have to wait for the sun to hide before we start moving,” I said watching the ponies move in the camp taking stuff for the trip.
“Why? Wouldn't it be better to move in the daytime with the light?” asked Blue Sky.
With a sigh, I turned to see her and said, “I don't owe you any explanation, but, my power, Sunshine, makes heatwaves radiate from my body, the longer the time passes, the more heat I radiate, if we start this trip during day my presence will eventually kill you all, is safer we move during the night.”
Blue sky looked at me and said, “No wonder everything's so hot out of nowhere, is that why your size doubled in the morning?”
“Indeed, now tell that to the other ponies,” I said as I walked into the woods, “I'll be back by nightfall, wait here.” and with a simple jump, I left the camp, getting a few miles away from it.
“That Stallion...” said Blue Sky when she saw the pony in one jump move out of the camp. “Guys, change of plans, we're leaving during the night, will wait for Mr No name to come back!"
I distanced myself a few miles from the camp, while I waited for the night to come, the hours passed, and the trees around me began to turn to ashes, and the hours continued passed until noon arrived, my body had grown even more and at 12:00 I felt something unmatched, The One!, I felt that my power could only be described or be defined as infinite during that minute, and the minute passed, and gradually I began to get weaker and weaker until night finally came.
The night had come, and I had realised my mistake, I tried to walk in the direction of the camp. I ended up find out that I don't know how to walk at least during the night, to walk a couple of meters. I had to concentrate all my might.
“This doesn't make sense! I was able to walk normally during the day! And now I'm back to moving like a toddler” I shouted as I walked like a toddler on my way to the camp, “The change I had in my personality was weird, I just felt pride and only pride, is that how Escanor felt?... At least I can defend myself during the day.” When I finished saying that, I remembered what I had done, I killed about thirty intelligent creatures, reminding that I started to vomit and shake, I know they deserved it, but still, it felt wrong for some reason, their blood, their bodies.
'Calm down, it was them or you, they wanted to enslave you, kill you or eat you, there was no other way to survive. ' I thought in the form of a mantra trying to calm me down.
Continuing with my pathetic attempt to walk back to the camp, AKA toddler walk, I came to the conclusion that at this rate it would take me forever to get back to the camp, every two minutes I stumbled upon something, and there was the possibility of something killing me during the night, even a bunny could kill me right now, cause I still have no idea on how to control a quadruped body..., while walking I heard some noises in some bushes.
'Not again... 'I thought as I tried to create a plan to escape, “I haven't had a bath in three days, so my taste is ruined!”
“Good to know, look at you, back to normal pony size, hehe.” said a familiar voice, Blue Sky came together with other ponies, “You were taking a long time, so we started a search for you, what happened to you?”
“Would you believe me if I told you I don't know how to walk properly at night? ,” I said with a smile full of shame, “But that will change, I hope...”
“You know I believe you, with what happened this morning, anything is possible with you,” Blue Sky said among snickers, “Boys carry him back to camp,” two pegasuses came up and took me.
As they took me to the camp flying, I decided to ask the two pegasuses carrying me their names and thinking about names, I couldn't stay nameless, Escanor was the right name, and I felt identified with the title, perhaps I should honour my favourite anime character by taking his name, you know what?, fuck it, ill be Escanor, at least until I remember my real name.
“So... what's your name, guys?” I asked the pegasus, they were both almost identical, black fur with a blue line on the head, the only difference was in their Cutie Marks, The cutie mark of the pegasus on the left was a cloud with a shield, and the one on the right was lightning with a sword.
“Nimbus Shield, sir!” answered the pegasus on the left.
“Thunder Sword, sir!” answered the Pegasus on the right.
“My name is Escanor,” I said with a smile as I thought, 'Where does that 'Sir' thingy come from?, I'm not older than them. , '
“You remembered your name! Awesome!!, it's pretty weird name though, but you're weird, so I guess it suits you,” said Blue Sky flying in front of us.
“Thank you, I guess, how long before we get to the camp?” I said as I thought, 'From my perspective all your names are strange, '
"Ten minutes, SIR!" shouted Nimbus Shield.
"Thanks..." I replied with a bit of pain in my ears, wondering why this two behave like soldiers.
"You're welcome, Sir!" said Nimbus Shield.
In the castle of the two sisters, Celestia was walking back and forth, Luna was worried, so she approached her sister and asked, "What's wrong with thee, sister? Didst something wrong befall upon us? wast those Griffins!?"
Celestia looked at her sister and worried she said, “I hath lost mine control ov'r the Sun dear sister, I knoweth not what hath happened, but yesterday something tore off mine control ov'r the Sun,”
Luna surprised shouted using the royal voice, “Impossible! Does it mean that thee Sun will not rise anymore?!”
Celestia sighed and said, “No, the sun keepeth rising just slower, at the same time, but lest I worried.”
Luna approached and hugged her sister with determination, “Don't worry, we'll findeth the ruffian and we'll maketh that gent payeth for stealing thee Sun sister! we swear Sister!”
We had arrived at the camp, the ponies were ready to start the journey back to their country, Blue Sky informed them that I had difficulty moving during the night and the ponies offered to carry me, even though I refused the offer, I needed to learn how to walk correctly, I couldn't be useless half the day, I refuse!.
We started our journey; the Pegasus flew to the front giving us information about what was waiting for us on the way, while in the back I went with Blue Sky, walking more and more efficiently.
“Are you sure you don't want me to carry you?” asked Blue Sky seeing how slow I was going.
“Nope, I've mastered the art of not falling, now I just need to improve my speed,” I said proudly, It took me three hours, but I was finally able to walk almost normally.
The ponies that were in the front had to stop to wait or rest every half hour, to wait for me, nobody mocked me for my walking speed, or my skill on it, I think it's because I saved them, Blue Sky stayed with me all the time, while the twins flew over me ready to defend me, it was weird.
"I correct myself, at this pace, it'll take over a year to get out of here..." said Blue Sky.
