//-------------------------------------------------------// Why did I Want To Be a Magician? -by Twilight star- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Trixie wants to be a magician! //-------------------------------------------------------// Trixie wants to be a magician! In Canterlot lived Trixie and Jack Pot. They were blue unicorns. Trixie’s father was a Canterlot magician. Whenever there was an event, like a birthday party, he would come and do magic for the foals. And he had an appointment this afternoon, he had to perform at a magic show at the Canterlot theater. He was already wearing his clothes and magician hat. He was about to leave when he heard his daughter’s voice, “Daddy!” Jack Pot looked at Trixie, “What’s up, Trixie?” “Where are you going?” asked Trixie. “I’m going to the Canterlot theater to perform a magic show”, replied Jack Pot. Trixie was curious. She never saw any magic shows, “can I go along?” “Sure, Trixie”, replied Jack Pot with a smile. Trixie got excited and left the house. She waited for her father to close the door. When Jack Pot closed the door, they were on their way to the theater. Trixie was surprised to see a row of ponies, “wow. You must be famous, daddy” “Yes. I am”, said Jack Pot. “May I be onstage with you?” asked Trixie. She has never been on a stage before. And maybe staying on stage with your dad could be fun. “Sorry, Trixie. But only those who work in the theater can perform on that stage. You’ll have to watch in the audience”, answered Jack Pot. Trixie whimpered, “This is unfair! Trixie wants to be the target of applause!” “Sorry, Trixie. But you don’t work in the theater. Who knows when you grow up you don’t become a magician?” Trixie sighed, “ok, daddy…” Trixie looked at the row of ponies. Yes. It would take too long… After a few boring hours of waiting, Trixie was able to get the entrance ticket. For a moment she thought that foals couldn’t enter without parental support. She was in the front row. She couldn’t wait to see what her father could do as a magician. Suddenly, the lights went out. Trixie got scared. Yes. She has never been to the theater before. So it was normal for her to be acting like this. “Attention, ponies! Get ready for the most spectacular magician of all time!” Suddenly, Trixie’s father, Jack Pot, appeared onstage after a smoke appeared and disappeared onstage. The ponies were surprised. But who was most surprised was Trixie. She had no idea a Magician could do these things. “Get ready to witness the most spectacular magic!” Jack Pot put his top hat on the table he had on stage. He put the hull on his top hat, “say ala-ka-zan with me” “Ala-ka-zan!” Jack Pot took off his hat and a white rabbit came out of his hat. The audience ponies cheered. Trixie with a smile clapped along. “Now, I’ll need three cups and a Bit”, Jack Pot put the hull in his top hat and popped three cups and a Bit. He set the three cups and the Bit on the table. “Now, I recommend you pay close attention. Especially for those sitting in the background,” said Jack Pot. “I will put Bit under one of the cups, I will stir them and you will have to guess where the Bit is. You have to speak right, left or middle. Understand?” “We understand!” Jack Pot put the Bit in the middle glass and began to stir them. When he was done, he asked, “Does anypony in the audience know where Bit is?” “Trixie knows! Trixie knows!” exclaimed Trixie happily as she lifted her hoof. The ponies were looking at Trixie. “Very well, Trixie. Which cup is the Bit?” said Jack Pot. “In the middle cup!” “Let’s see if you got it right”, Jack Pot slowly took the middle cup out, and to his happiness, the Bit was right in the middle cup. “Congratulations, Trixie! You got it right!” exclaimed cheerful Jack Pot with his daughter. By the time the magic show was over it was late at night and Trixie waited for her father at the theater entrance. I hope dad doesn’t take long… Like it was magic, Jack Pot left the theater, “I see you had fun, Trixie” Trixie went to her father to hug him, “yes, daddy. I loved to see you do magic” Trixie and Jack Pot started walking. Trixie couldn’t help but notice that she loved seeing the magic Jack Pot did. She wondered if she could ever do that too. “Daughter, is everything all right?” asked Jack Pot. “Yes Dad. Just thinking about my future”, replied Trixie. “And would you like to tell me?” “Yes. Trixie wants to be a magician just like you” “I’m glad you already know what you want to be when you grow up”, said Jack Pot with a smile. “Trixie will need hat and cape. Could you buy me one tomorrow?” “I’ll see tomorrow, daughter” When they got home, Trixie went to her bedroom to sleep. She couldn’t wait to arrive tomorrow for her own cape and hat. She dreamed she was a magician, and had a hat and cape. The cape and hat had designs of stars and the cape and hat were purple in color. When morning came, Jack Pot opened the door to Trixie’s bedroom and saw his daughter sleeping peacefully. He went downstairs and went to the door, left the house and closed the door. He just hoped Trixie wouldn’t wake up. As they wake up a little late, the stores were open. He went to a costume store. Jack Pot couldn’t help but notice the beautiful fantasies they had. A cape and purple hat with stars caught his eye. It’s perfect! Trixie will love! Jack Pot went to the pony at the cashier, “Good morning, do you want to buy some costume?” “Yes. I’d like the purple cape and purple hat”, replied Jack Pot. “It’s ten bits”, said the salesmare. Jack Pot gave the ten Bits. The salesmare took the Bits with her magic, “very well. I’ll get the cape and hat” When Trixie woke up, she heard a sound of the door opening. She left the room and went downstairs. She noticed her father holding something with his magic, “Daddy, what’s this behind you?” “A gift to you. Hope you enjoy it”, Jack Pot handed the package to Trixie. Trixie tore open the package with her magic. She gasped as she opened the box, “this cape and magician’s hat is just like my dream!” “Glad you enjoyed it, Trixie” Trixie put on her hat and cape of Magician, “don’t call me Trixie. Call me the great and powerful Trixie!”
