Red Butterfly

A Changeling came into the throne room, informing Chrysalis of the Changelings elsewhere had been killed. The hope that the whole Equestria would be saved had been increased. Chrysalis was sitting on the throne, worried that this Pegasus might actually kill her. She sent out every single Changeling, including four of her Elite which left eight to guard the throne room. She also sent a small group called an ambush team to kill it, she needed this Pegasus to dead NOW!

Some Changelings at the observatory were looking for signs of her appearance. Suddenly, they saw a purple portal appear at Canterlot Station. They swallowed the lumps in their throats as they saw a Pegasus step out of the portal. Their heart started beating harder every minute.

"You, go and warn the Queen!" Said the first Changeling, pointing to the Changeling next to it. It nodded and flew into the throne room.

"I hope the ambush will work." Said the first one, the anxiety appeared on its face.

"Yeah, me too."

As she walked down the deserted streets of Canterlot, she saw that the Changelings were being awfully lenient with her. She only encountered two or three at the most and even then they flew off in terror when she looked at her. 'After this, i will have a long long rest.'

She continued walking without realizing that many Changelings ambushed her. They were lining up in the streets and rooftops ahead. They were carrying crossbows, bows and one had a Ballista that they disguised under their small tent. Some others were hidding behind the dustbins in the alleyways carrying cudgels and axes amongst other melee weaponry. They were muttering to each other, wondering of the rumour they heard was true that it killed every Changeling elsewhere all by itself and if they stood a chance against it. They feared that this creature was not even a Pony but a Demon that sent to this eradicate the Changeling race. It was certainly had the abilities for it.

The Canterlot Gardens were a few short kilometres away from Fluttershy's current standpoint. She had the odd feeling that she was being watches by something but she couldn't find it. She flew off to the roof of the nearest building for a better view of the area.

"What the?!" A crossbow bolt whizzed past her, taking a small piece of her black cloak with it. She turned around a saw a Changeling across the street on a rooftop with a crossbow in its hooves. It fumbled to reload the crossbow only to receive a dark purple magic sphere to the head. Its head exploded, splattering green blood and whatever was left of its brain all over the rooftop.

The other Changelings came out from under cover and attacked. Three of them pulled the tent off the Ballista amd aimed it at the Pegasus. The Ballista fired and Fluttershy noticed it hurling towards her. A dark purple hole appeared, a claw quickly appeared through it and caught the Ballista Bolt. The claw quickly threw the Ballista Bolt into the place where it shot out. It rushed towards the Ballista and destroyed it. Other Changelings were not prepared were shot by magic spheres. Quickly created a rain of blood and body parts on the ground below. The Changelings survived they were shocked and quickly fled.

The Changelings on the observatory were shocked and frightened by the scene they just watched. Their hearts are now beating harded than ever. They saw a giant magic beam rushing towards them, but because they were top scared to avoid it. The magic beam quickly killed them and destroyed the observatory.

A Changeling ran into the throne room, informing Chrysalis of the failed ambush team. Chrysalis felt that she was shaking. She realised she was experiencing true fear for the first time.

Fluttershy kept her eyes open this time, glancing around and preparing for an attack. She checked through the alleys as she went by but found them completely vacant. She eventually arrived at the plaza and stopped near the centre. She looked around at the various buildings in the plaza, thinking that there was something weird about the fact that she hadn't seen another Changeling. Shrugging off the feeling, she moved on towards the castle.

As she got to the edge of the plaza a strange wind flew, making Fluttershy feel uneasy. She turned around to see a single Changling standing in the centre of the plaza. It looked very sure of itself but that changed once Fluttershy summoned magic spheres.

Before she could fire, a voice said. "Hold it!" The source of the voice came out from behind the fruit stand. It was a Changeling unlike the rest. As it came out, more Changelings came out of various hiding places, some were aiming at her with ranged weapons from the rooftops like earlier.

This Changeling stood slightly taller than the others. Its chitinous plating was a fern green and covered a greater portion of its body. The only unnatural armor was the silver helmet that it wore. It stood on its hind hooves as if it were hatched that way. It was bulkier than the rest and carried two large axes on its shoulders.

"You will not reach the Queen." It said with a deep voice.

"And how do you think you will stop me?" It grabbed its right axe and slammed it into the ground. The force cleaved the ground apart, the crack continuing past Fluttershy and collapsing the building behind her.

"Try me." It replied with a smile.

Fluttershy summoned many magic spheres and fired at the Changeling. It quickly took two axes and slashed at the magic spheres that flew towards it. The spheres were cut in half and exploded.

After the attack, it gasped and said. "Like the rumors, you can really use magic, huh."

She was about summon a few more magic spheres before doing so, the Changelings on the roof fired arrows and bullets of other long-range weapons at her. She created herself a dark purple magic shield. Six claws formed from the shield and had the same color as it. The claws rushed towards the Changelings on the rooftops. They frantically fired arrows and bullets of ranged weapons at them, but were useless. The Changelings threw their weapons and flew away, but it was too late. The claws quickly ripped them off, some were crushed, some were grabbed to death.

The Elite was looking at her in horror, it swallowed the lump in its throat and its heart was beating harder. It wanted to run away but it remembered the mission that Chrysalis had given it. Its heart began to beat normally, it took a deep breath and prepared its fighting posture.

"Come!!" It shouted. The claws all rushed towards it. It used two axes to slice into the air, creating a force to rip the air and rush towards her. Two of the six claws blocked it. It crossed two axes in front of its chest to block the attack of two claws. 'Wait, two claws?! Where are the other two?! Oh axes!!'

It turned around and saw a claw attacking it from the right side, causing it to be thrown out from its position. It was clenched by a claw and slammed the ground hard. The Elite tried to stand up but was hit hard by two claws and sent it flying backwards into the three-story building behind it.

It coughed up blood. Blood continued to flow from the corners of its mouth. Its chitinous plating began to crack, the blood had also been sprayed out more. It gritted its teeth to endure the pain. It tried to get up and go out by the hole it created. It came out and met her eyes.

"I tried you and you failed to stop me from killing your Queen." She said, still looking at the blood-stained Elite. Its hind hooves were no longer stable and it collapsed.

"M-my Queen ... i-i am s-so sorry ... i ... i tried m-my b-best ..." Those were its last words, before its vision turned dark.

"You fought well, you will soon see your Queen again in hell." She said. The claw grabbed and pulled it into a dark purple hole. The claws, shield and hole all dissapeared. Wiping her tear from her face, she thought to herself. 'No crying, you still have a job to do. You can cry when your friends are free.'

She saw the Gardens weren't too far anymore. Her thoughts were now centred on freeing her friends and no Changeling will ever return alive after getting in her way.
