Twilight was signing documents wearing only a bathrobe. She just got done having a bath and was now working for a bit inside her castle in Ponyville.
As she worked someone tapped on her shoulder. She turned around to see Auburn her helper and intern holding something in her hand.
"Yes? Is there something you like to share with me?" Twilight asked. Auburn nodded her head and gave her the paper so that she could read it.
The paper asked her to come attend a meeting with her friends so thats what she did as she left her castle and went to Carousel Boutique which was where all her friends were waiting for her.
"Whats wrong?" Twilight asked as sge saw her friends had concerns etched on their faces.
"Twilight weve had this worry on our minds for a while now and we need get it out now? Rarity said. Twilight shrugged.
"What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight we think that Autumn should get speech therapy. She needs to help." Rainbow Dash said. Twilight became furious.
"What you are doing right now is discrimination and i wont stand for it. Autumn is a great worker whether she can talk or not." Twilight ranted.
"We didnt say say that she wasnt a great worker. Alls we are saying is that it would help you and Autumn if she got to learn how to be verbal." Rarity said.
"Yes that was what you were insinuating. Speech therapy will only hurt her in the long run. If she is non verbal then you all just have to accept that!" Twilight snapped as she was getting angry.
"Twilight...we...werent being mean...we just want to be helpful for Auburn....but if you dobt like that...ill stop...sorry." Fluttershy trailed off.
"No your not being helpful at all. Youll just make her feel ashamed. I exoected better of you all." Twilight spat. Applejack lost it.
"Dagnabbit Twilight! Its not like we are telling you to fire her! Were not mocking her we are telling you to help her!" Applejack yelled.
"Help her? Yeah and how? Insinuating that shes useless? That doesnt sound helpful to me!" Twilight ranted.
"We arent telling you that shes useless. Were just trying to do a super duper nice thing!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed with frustration.
"Yeah well discrimination isnt super duper Pinkie. I thought you would know that by now." Twilight spat.
"But darling we arent discriminating we want to help her." Rarity said.
"Help her by what? Torture by speech therapy!? What do you want to do? Cure her of her autism?! Thats disgusting! How dare you!" Twilight yelled. Here friends were frightened and confused by Twilight.
"Twilight for Celestia's sake were not going to tie her down and subject her to something horrific! Were going to have her sit down with a fucking speech therapist! Your making it sound like were sending her off to be abused and shit! Why the fuck would we do that?!" Rarity yelled.
"Are you going to subject her to holding therapy and compress her until she cries!? Twilight screamed.
"Of coarse not! Holding therapy is abusive and we would never force that on anybody. Holding therapy has been banned in Equestria for years Twilight!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed in disbelief.
"Speech therapy is torture. Your forcing her to do something thats impossible. Ill be reporting you to Celestia if you keep it up. Shes doing fine! Shes a great assistant! Hell Spike is still my assistant and he loves her! So fuck out of here with that state sponsored bullshit that discourages stimming and forces her to be normal. Knock it off." Twilight ranted.
"Were not forcing her to be normal. Were getting help for her so that she can speak!" Rarity yelled.
"Yes you are forcing her to be normal. I dont want to hear any more of this. Stop trying to convince me or ill out you all as bigots." Twilight warned.
Rarity stared at her in disbelief and then shook her head.
"Fine. Dont say we didnt help though." Rarity spat. Twilight shook her head and put her head into her hands to calm herself down.
After she calmed down she walked back to her castle in Ponyville and sat down as she sighed about what happened.
She was not expecting her friends to jump down hee throat so vile like but they did. She hoped they would apologize.
Soon she wrote about what happened and sent it to Celestia as she hoped that would lend results.
After she did that Auburn came in with a cup of tea and set it down for Twilight. Twilight smiled at her and before Auburn could leave Twilight pulled her into a hug.
"Dont let anybody tell you that you are not normal. You are the way you are no matter what disability you have. And if there was a possible verbal assistant whonwas a girl like you i would never replace you with her. I only need Spike and you. Okay?" Twilight asked.
Auburn nodded and was released from the hug. Twilight wiped tears away from her eyes and spoke.
"Can you get me a cup of coffee? You can get some to if you want!" Twilight asked. Autumn smiled brightly and fetched some for Twilight. They both drank some coffee together and hung out.
A day later Celestia had Twilight's friends apologize to Twilight for what they had sair about Autumn. They promised to never bting it up in front of Autumn and they were warned that if they did bring the conversation up in front of Autumn they would be rebuked.
Twilight pledged to herself to never let anything happen to her assistant and pledged to herself to never let anybody dismiss or bully her either.
After that incident nothing like that happened to Autumn or Twilight ever again anywhere in Equestria or anywhere else since Equestria and the rest of the world grew to accept people like Autumn. Twilight was glad that there was no more discrimination torwards autistic people in Equestria and the world
