Scars of the Future

Hooves beat down everywhere as ponies fought against one another. Beams of magic seemed to have gone haywire. Everything was in total chaos. A bright pink alicorn tussled with a orangish pegusi, Her husband and the guard trying to get the invaders to fall back. Shapes of pegusi flying above, locked in aerial combat fell to the ground occasionally. Even regular citizens were giving up their posh ways to fight the invading threat.

The pink alicorn used her magic to propell her attacker back into the air, smirking before tossing a few other invaders back as well. She started to take off into the air, ready to fight some more of the invaders, when something just barely missed her, making a sickening crunching sound behind her. The alicorn turned, and gasped.

Oh Celestia no! she thought frantically. No....no...no..

A seemingly small blue pegusi had fallen behind her, wings crooked and cyan eyes dull. The pink alicorns eyes widened, and her ears flattened. She turned her head to her forces, they were fighting hard and seemed to be making a dent in enemy forces. The alicorn sighed slightly and cradled the fallen mare with her magic and unfolded her wings, taking off at full speed to the castle.

Celestia paced anxiously. Canterlot seemed certain to fall. Luna's brigade had been flanked and nearly destroyed, The commanders of the pegusi fighters had all died, and even now Discord was having trouble keeping the enemy back, despite his powers. Luna watched her sister pace, sighing.

"Look, i know Rainbow Dash dying is a horrible thing, but pacing is not going to do anything good." the moon goddess said, trying to make her voice as sympathetic as possible. "We have armies out there, needing their leader...not to mention the foals as well." Celestia nodded.

"I guess your right." she sighed. "Wh-" She suddenly stopped talking and watched the door with narrowed eyes. The guards in the room stood, ready to fight. The doors swung open and a tall pony stumbled in, bleeding from many wounds. His armor was broken.

"The west city defenses have fallen." he gasped out. "Princess Candace and Shining Armor have fallen." After saying the last sentence the colt fell. Every pony in the room stared in stunned silence. Hoovesteps of many ponies sounded though, and the small force broke out of their stunned state. Celestia readied her magic. If only i had known about this damn uprising...

Then a tall unicorn strode in, a gray pegasus followed along with a huge force of ponies. The unicorns broken horn glimmered and he smirked.

"Hello Celestia." He said in a calm and business like voice.

"If your here to fight me go ahead." Celestia snapped, Luna nodded her agreement, horn glowing. The unicorn cackled.

"Oh, are you sure you want ME to fight you? Humph. What a suicidal wish." He said, releasing a powerful beam from his broken horn, burning Celestia's leg.  Celestias teeth gritted and she fired back, suddenly ending up in a battle of who had the most powerful beam. She struggled to keep hers strong, while her opponent looked like he was barely breaking a sweat. The others started to fight the small force of guards.

While they engaged in a battle of wills, the grey pegusus easily snuck to the side, quickly making her way to Celestia. When she had reached the white alicorn it was obvious that she was losing. The grey pegasus smirked. They make this to easy…

She pushed the weary monarch straight into the beam of magic. Strangely the alicorn didn't make a sound as she died, turning into a beam of light before disappearing. Luna gasped and tried to attack the pegasus but was captured in a beam of blue that seemed to spiral. The grey pegusi smirked, looking as her leader started to send the rag of a leader back where she belonged.

Luna tried to break free of the spell, ultimately failing, her eyes started to water. Suddenly she saw some thing… Some ponies. It was her own daughter, Trixie… and Celestia's… Firefly. She knew she only had seconds to warn them.

"Run!!" she yelled as she was sent away. Trixie gasped and grabbed Firefly in her magic and ran, seeing the enemies eyes turn to them. Firefly struggled out of her cousins magic and ran beside her, tears streaming from her eyes.

"Get them." The leader said calmly, Suddenly nearly everypony in the room ran after them, and the leader smirked.  Equestria will soon be mine….
