((AN: I started the Fic in First person for a bit of practice.. though it switches to third and will probably stay that way in the future. I hope you enjoy.. Please give feed back I barely got any on the other failed fics I wrote. ALSO I don't own MLP:FIM in anyway shape or form.. I don't own any songs I might use as well. However! Ivory Keys is mine I created him. If anypony uses him without me permitting it you will have an angry novice writer after you.))
I sighed as I slowly got off the train I was riding on, I couldn't help but feel that I was scammed on how much my train ticket cost. I guess didn’t matter I got as far as I could go even if I was scammed on how much the ticket cost. You're probably asking yourself ‘how can you get scammed on a train ticket when the prices are shown’? If you haven't figured it out yet I’m blind been blind from birth. My parents.... well that’s a story for another time.
I took my time getting off the platform as a few ponies rudely walked past me bumping into me as I made my way down the stairs. Guess that’s how things work city ponies are rude.. well some aren't. When I actually made it off the platform I continued walking. My plan.. walk until I bump into something or somepony and then.. well I’ll figure it out from there. Oh man.. everypony is going to look at me weird and even though I can’t see them I just have ‘that’ feeling.
After a bit of walking one of my hooves made contact with a wall okay.. step one complete. I then began walking alongside the wall making sure my hoof kept contact with it in some way to know I have some sort of guide on where to walk. Ponies don’t understand how scary being blind really is always having to be cautious especially while walking around in the city.. no pony would even notice somepony else being dragged into an alley because they only care about their own business. Always wondering where you are and how to get somewhere and hope that other ponies don’t lie to you. Not forgetting about walking into other ponies all the time and they consider you rude saying that an excuse isn’t good enough... if only they listened to my reason.. they would understand th- Oof.
“Hey watch where you're going!” I then found myself shoved back some.
“Rainbow that wasn't very nice.” My ears twitched listened on the two voices.
“Well he should of been watching where he was going Twilight.” I sighed and hung my head low mumbling to myself
“I should've just stayed in the city.” My ears twitched again a softer voice spoke right next to me.
“Oh.. why would you want to stay in the city its so loud and all the animals wouldn't have many homes.” I sighed
“Because so far being in the city is the same as being here.” The first voice then spoke again, I think the pony’s name was Rainbow Dash?
“And how is the city the same as here?” I ‘looked’ towards the voice before speaking
“Because the ponies there and the ponies here are just as rude.” I then heard a short sarcastic laugh
“Me rude? Why I oughta-” I quickly interrupted the pony
“oughta what start a fight? It’s not like I’m going to fight back.” I heard a hoof scraping against the ground
“Why? Cause I’m a mare?” Well that sums that up..
“No because I’m BLIND!” Everything seemed to go silent for a bit before Rainbow spoke.
“Oh..” I sighed
“How much is a train ticket to Manehatten?” “It’s 45 bits why?” I quickly slammed my hoof against the ground in anger “That bucker I knew he scammed me!” I sighed “Just my luck.. spent all 95 bits on a train ticket which was actually 45.... does anyone know where I can play a piano?” Another voice seemed to pop up out of nowhere “OH! There a piano at sugar cube corner!” The person of the voice then gasped before talking.
“You’re a new pony in town aren't you. I love meeting new ponies. OH YAY! That means I get to throw another Welcome to Ponyville Party! Do you like parties cuz I like parties I also like cupcakes and brownies and don’t forget-” The voice just cut off after that.
“Sorry about that.. Pinkie Pie well as you can guess likes parties and meeting new ponies.” I nodded
“And what piano Pinkie.. I don’t remember Sugar Cube Corner having a piano.” There was a slight giggle “That’s because it’s new silly how else would you not know about it.” I hope they will let me use it.. I need something to take my mind off of me being scammed and.. other things. “Is the piano tuned?” There was another giggle “Yep. Do you want to play it? I’m sure Mr. and Mrs. Cake won't mind.” I took a second before replying “Well as long as it’s okay I’ll play it.” I heard a cheer and hooves leaving. “Uhh.. I could really use a guide or something.” I quickly found another hoof grabbing mine and being lead somewhere. “Oh! My name is Ivory Keys.”
(Time passes and now 3rd person seeing is that you know my character's name)
Ivory was slowly lead into Sugar Cube Corner, the door ringing with a bell clanging telling whoever was inside that someone entered the store. The smell of sweets was strong and distracting to most. However due to the lack of bits Ivory knew he couldn't purchase any for his sweet tooth. Ivory quickly found himself sitting down on a piano bench, his ears twitching listening for any sounds.
“Okay! Lets hear some piano music! Oh is it going to be happy music or sad. Maybe even music that sounds angry!” Ivory chuckled and reached out with his hooves to find the piano. He found it quickly but deemed himself a bit too far so he got off the bench and pushed it closer before sitting back down atop it. The blind pony slowly lifted up the cover that was on the keys and slid it back. Ivory took a bit hitting the different keys looking for the ones he needed to begin. When he found the keys he needed to start the song he quickly inhaled and exhaled clearing any unwanted thoughts before starting.
(A song later)
Ivory slowly brought his hooves away from the piano keys, feeling better after being able to use his talent. The blind pony sat there for a bit his ears moving around listening for any movement.
“Out of curiosity are there any other musicians in Ponyville?” The other ponies looked at each other before Twilight replied. “Well there’s a lyricist named Lyra, a cellist named Octavia, and a DJ that goes by the stage name DJ_Pon3.” Ivory thought for a moment before speaking again “Do any of them come from Manehatten?” The 5 ponies conversed for a bit. “From what we heard DJ_Pon3 comes from Manehatten.” Ivory nodded taking in this information before slowly getting onto his hooves. “Does anypony know where this DJ live? I’d like to meet him or her.” Pinkie started flailing her hooves around probably forgetting that Ivory was blind. “OH! OH! I know where she lives!” Ivory waited to see if anypony else knew but sighed when nopony spoke up. “Um.. okay Pinkie lead the way.” The pink earth pony’s smile grew. “Okay follow me!” The blind pony quickly found himself being pulled towards somewhere.
((AN: Well I hope you at least found it enjoyable... and due to school my writing time is limited so don't expect fast updates.. even if I had time i still go though the phase of doubting myself and the story I actually had most of this story done a few months before I came back and finished it off.))
