//-------------------------------------------------------// A Fourtunate String of Events -by TerribleSpeller- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Variable //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Variable Atalic nursed his drink of Wild Pegasus slowly at the tabletop. The room wasn’t all that rowdy, this was a bar for those upper middle class ponies, not quite the common pony, but not also quite part of the nobility. He took a sip of his drink as he ran over the plans again. Soarin’s troops should be in place in Cloudsdale, and Hoover’s sailors should have long been ready in Vanhoofer. Even if he could be confirmed over a dozen times that everything was in place, he couldn’t put his hoof on the feeling that something was about to enter the equation. Another sip. The blue pegasus’ eyes darted across the bar, there weren’t much other patrons. Only a few other soldiers and civilians. He focused his view on one of the soldiers, he too was also obersving the room. In his eyes, Atalic could see the glint of worry he had. He too knew that something was going to enter the equation very soon. He had to find out this variable was, or not, the coup will fail. Krvava placed her pen down and stretched her neck a bit, and looked across the room once more before turning to her sketch of the bar. Changelings may not have cutie marks like the ponies, but they did have talents. That was myth among the Changelings that they didn’t have talents, but Krvava believed the opposite. Without a cutie mark, Changelings can explore more things without being constrained by their cutie mark myth to one single talent. She looked up from her sketch to the room. She spotted some of the other changelings in the room; some were acting as ponies drowning their sorrows in alcohol, some were acting as friends talking over several cups of beers, and some were just acting as lovers. The Changeling lieutenant suddenly realized that among some of the common soldiers in the bar, a pony stood out among them drinking. There at a table, a general. Krvava wasn’t expecting for a general to be in this type of bar, usually only officers came. But an opportunity was still an opportunity. She got up and did a bit of adjustment on her pony disguise, making her rear end slightly larger. She got up, and swaying her hips, she strutted over to the the general’s table. As she got nearer, the general noticed her and looked up from his drink. His eyes wondering over her figure. She pulled a seat out with her hoof, and sat opposite to the general, giving a smutty smile. Her fake pegasus wings fluttering a bit. “Hey there, you seem to be... having a rough time aren’t ya?” The general simply chuckled, “Eh... Kind of, you can say, mind telling me why such a lovely mare is doing in a bar this late?” “Oh you know, looking for some fun,” said Krvava, while flinging her tail a bit. It was fun toying with stallions, they also thought with their di- “Too bad, i’m gay,” Atalic smirked at the mare’s face, and tucked it away in his mind. The general lifted his drink again and took a sip. And when back to observing the mare in front of him. She had a fine light blue coat, and a cute little ruffled mix match of blue and white for hair. “Really?” Asked the mare, finally out of her shock. Did it really take that long for fun seekers to recover knowing Atalic thought. “No, no, it’s just a tactic I use to scare away bar lurkers, technically my barn door swings both ways,” Said Atalic while waving his hoof dismissively. “Name’s Atalic Medals, you?” “Krvava Wings,” Atalic looked down into his bottle to see that a little bit of alcohol was left, and downed what remained. “So, you actually out here looking for fun or what?” “Wait... you’re serious?” The mare crooked an eyebrow. “I thought you...” “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Not all fun includes the exchange of bodily fluids dear, now... how about 20 questions? Because I can tell you aren’t here for just some fun. There are three other soldiers here who would jump for some fun, yet you come to me once you spotted me, walked up from your lonely sulking place in the corner and attempted to seduce me; now oh tell me Krvava, what are your true intentions? Unless of course...” Krvava was quite surprised with how observant the general was. It was a surprise, but a welcomed one. A chuckle escaped her lips, “Well played general, well played,” “Time to spill the beans I guess, ain’t it Krvava?” The disguised changeling’s wings twitched a bit. Her eyes looked around the room, and the General followed her eyes. A pony at a table got up and left; and another asked for more beer to the bartender. In the clear. “Why don’t we... take this to my place, hmm?” A tail flick accompanied her question. Atalic chuckled, “Sure dear, been quite some time too,” The duo got up from their seats, and headed for the exit. Atalic threw some bits on the table as he headed out. The stars were shining bright as Krvava and Atalic trotted down the streets of Canterlot. The night was getting colder, as both of their breaths crystallized in front of them. “So... Mind telling me?” Asked Atalic. “Eh... how I explain?” Krvava placed a hoof on her chin. “Let’s just say I’m not who i look as,” She shivered a bit as the slowly descending tempature got through her chitin disguised underneath her illusion. Krvava was surprised to feel a sudden warmth encompass her barrel, when she turned she saw that Atalic had abandoned his officer’s jacket and placed it on her. “Thanks,” “Your welcome, now... lemme guess, Changeling?” “Y-Yes...” The reply came quietly, the two continued to trot through the streets. The street light illuminating the way. “What are you doing here? Espionage? Warfare?” “Warfare, our hives have recently been shallowed up by Queen Chrysilas, a tryant who plans on bringing down Equestria with victory in Canterlot. She has disguised herself as...” It took Krvava a couple moments to realize that Atalic had stopped walking, and she turned around to see the blue Pegasus frozen in place. This is the variable, the new variable to the equation said Atalic’s mind. Is she a threat, or another asset for the plan? “W-why are you telling me this all?” “Rebellion, a failure in Canterlot will shatter all faith in Chrysilas’ rule. That’s why I strutted up to you in the bar. If you can direct some troops to help us, we can shatter the Tryant’s rule together, you can free us from her rule,” “And in Exchange?” Atalic raised an eyebrow, “what’s in it for me and the military?” “Well umm... we... uhh... provide some entertain-“ “Cut that bullshit, it already took me and the other generals three years to enforce the fear of STDs into the common soldier, i don’t need a sudden rise in veneral diseases,” “Well... what do you want?” asked Krvava. “Spoils? Fame? Power?” “Your help,” Said Atalic, he slowly began pacing around the disguised changeling, “You see, me and the other generals, depise the nobility. Because of them, our funding is getting smaller and smaller every year...” “You want us to replace Nobility members? Kick funding up? If so that’s child play,” Krvava took a look around the street, confirming that no pony was in earshot of their conversation. Atalic let out a laugh. It was a cold laugh, there was no emotion to it. Krvava shuddered it a bit. “No, no, no. Just like you and your fellow changelings, we plan on a rebellion. A coup. A coup to finally overthrow the eternal problem that is the nobility. Once we are in charge; we will rid Equestria of this plague...” Krvava gave a small smile, “So then, both of our plans align eh? Chrysilas’ failure in the wedding will be the catalyst for your coup,” Atalic nodded, “Yes, yes, yes. And wait. Wedding? As in the Royal Wedding? Who the fuck is she disguised as?” “Princess Cadance, she has taken her place for over two weeks, and the real Cadance is tucked away in the caves of Canterlot,” said Krvava. “We have some changelings keeping guard over, and fortunately for us they’re loyal to my cause,” “Good, good. I better introduce you to the other generals, you can report back to Chrysilas saying that you were... how do I say this? Preoccupied getting information,” The Changeling Lieutenant too let out her own laugh, “Very well, very well. What do you say, General? Partners?” She extended her hoof out to the Pegasus stallion. The general shook it firmly, “Partners,” Twilight struggled to walk straight on the streets of Canterlot. The alcohol she had ingested slowed down her cognition and ability to coordinate her body movements. Everything was just a blurry mess of colours and lights to her. She took a sip from the beer bottle in her levitation grip, which was shaky to say the best. When she placed her mouth to the bottle entrance, she felt none of the sweet sweet nectar making contact with her mouth. She peered through the bottle to see that her source of comfort was long since empty. The bottle met it’s end as Twilight threw on to the ground in front of her. “No good, hic bottle... hic,” Twilight slurred out. She continued her walk through the streets, wobbling from side to side. The drunken mare couldn’t see much, before leaning on to a lamp post. “Fuckin’ friends... ‘Let’s Go hic check on the P-Princess!” During a moment of clarity, Twilight ran over the events of the previous hours. Everything flooded through her at once, she only could handle it all before simply collapsing to the ground from all the emotional distress she was going through. Tears upon tears soon flowed through her eyes. Twilight wasn’t one to remember the faults of others. She forgave and forgot. Well at least she taught so. The faults of the others, Twilight repressed them all; it’d be hard for them to surface with her mind at full capacity. But now? With herself at her lowest, her mind addled by alcohol. The memories soon came one by one flowing upon her stream one by one. Mocking her for not seeing the signs from early on. Twilight, like a vase on the floor, was broken. Shattered to pieces. Everything she knew that made up her life had been throughoutly been destroyed. She could do nothing else in her state other than cry. “How much longer?” Asked Krvava. The disguised Changeling fluttered her wings in hopes of bringing a bit more of warmth. But the jacket on her restrained her movement. Atalic looked up at one of the street sign, before taking a right. “A couple more blocks lad, the other generals should be there,” The two continued on in silence, the only accompanying sounds were their hoofsteps and in the distance, some crying. Krvava’s ears swiveled around, trying to pin point the origin of the crying. “You hear that?” Atalic turned back to Krvava who had stopped a couple dozen meters back and was staring at... something, on another street. “Hear what?” Krvava pointed down the street she was looking at. “Somepony’s crying, I can... feel their sadness from here,” “Wait... how can you, ah, Changeling,” Atalic trotted back to Krvava and looked down the street. “I don’t think it’s important; probably some lad got dumped,” Krvava shook her head. “I doubt, if it was indeed a stallion there would be more resentment. This one is just... all sadness,” She turned to Atalic. “We should go help,” Atalic rolled his eyes. “Fine, fine. But if it is indeed a lad who got dumped you owe me five bits,” “And you’ll owe me five bits if isn’t that,” Twilight continued to bawl her eyes out on the floor. Her ears caught the sound of something other than her sobbing. Hoofsteps. Was it somepony knew? Were they here to mock her? Officially cut ties with her? The very thought of it caused her to cry more. “Oh Fuck, it’s the Princess’ Protege!” Said a voice. “What is she doing out here drunk and on the street floor?” “I don’t know, com’ on Atalic, help me get her on my back,” said a more feminine voice. “Hold a sec lass,” Twilight felt somepony’s magic grabbed around her and lifted her up and placed on a pony’s back. A grunt soon accompanied her landing on the pony’s back. “By the Queen, she’s heavier than she looks,” said the feminine voice. Queen? Who was that? “Stop whining, you asked for it, I’ll help with my magic,” said the first voice, much closer now. “Let’s go,” Twilight wanted to listen more, but her alcohol riddened mind couldn’t handle anymore, and she drifted off to a drunken slumber. The generals had planned to coordinate the coup from one of their more wealthier comrades’ residences. One of them, had a modest manor on the side of Canterlot. It was just out of the way for them. The only way into the manor was through a path from a street in Canterlot. Surrounded by wildlife. Medical Atlas, the Minister of Defence, finished his drink, and placed it on the table. Several generals chatted with each other in the room. Soarin and Spitfire were talking over a map of Cloudsdale, Whiplash and Nightlight were just drinking wine in one of the corner in the room. Presumably talking about what wherever or not that Sour Grapes’ Pineapple Wine was a good idea. It was the eve of the coup, within a few hours Equestria will be under the Junta’s heel. Soon, soon, he and the generals will be able to bring upon their vision upon Equestria. A better Equestria, a greater Equestria. “Sir,” Medical turned around to see Iron Arrow, an Earth pony, march up to him. “What is it?” “Atalic is finally back from his travel to the bar,” said Iron, “And... he brought back two mares with him,” Iron swore he could hear some glass break from Medical, “T-two mares... you say?” His eye twitching. Iron quickly took two steps back. “Uhh... yes. One of them is... uhh... the Princess’s Protege,” Medical froze in his place. Iron standing in silent feat; afraid of what his superior’s reaction might be. “The P-Princess’s Protege?” Asked Medical. Iron nodded. “What’s she doing here? She could expose our entire operation!” “Well, Atalic said it’s because they found her crying on the streets with a broken bottle of Wild Pegasus next to her,” “Something’s wrong then, Iron. The Princess’s Protege is a bookworm, she never does this. Get me to them, now,” ordered the Minister. “Just follow me Sir,” Atalic stood next to Krvava as the medic tucked the Princess’s Protege into a bed. “She’ll be fine,” Said the medic, an Earth pony, “It’ll just be a bit of a hangover when she wakes up, and just a few scratches,” “Thank you,” said Krvava, the medic nodded before leaving the room. As Krvava turned to Atalic, she found him pacing back and forth. Worrying over something. “What are you so worried about?” “That Princess Celestia might go look for her Protege, that this one variable, is enough to throw off our entire coup!” Said Atalic, near the shouting levels. He stopped to take a breath, and turned to the incapacitated mare. “I know it was best we recovered her when we found her, but by bringing her here we threaten the security of this entire operation!” “I doubt so,” countered Krvava, “We could Just hide her in the basements of this manor,” “Uhh, but-“ Atalic’s words were cut off as the door to the room opened again. Iron Arrow opened the door as Minister Medical Atlas trotted in as the door was closed behind him. The Pegasus General sprung up into a salute, which Medical returned. He said no word as he trotted over to the side of Twilight, the Princess’s Protege. Looking over the mare for a moment before turning to he two Pegasi in the room. “Where did you find her?” “On the intersection between Leopold and Major Street, sir,” answered Krvava, faster than Atalic could. Medical trotted away from the incapacitated mare, and over to her. “And who exactly are you?” He turned to Atalic, “And why did you bring her here?” “Krvava Wings,” “She’s a Changeling sir,” came the reply. Medical turned back to Krvava. “A changeling? Rare to see one around here in Canterlot, mind throwing off you disguise then?” Krvava complied and a flash of green flame engulfed her. Throwing Atalic off guard, making him jump back, while Medical stood stoically. The black chitin of a Changeling replaced the disguise’s yellow fur. Her green eyes turned into blue ones, and her mane turned into a wash of green seaweed like hair. The changeling’s Horn evident, pointing out, hidden when she was in disguise. The wings turned with holes in them, showing their true blue color. “Interesting, it seemed some of the tales about Changeling had something correct after all,” said Medical, “now, why in the name of Faust are you here?” So, she told him everything she told Atalic, and the thing Atalic shared to her. Medical stood there with attention, occasionally sending glares at Atalic whenever Krvava mentioned something that he wasn’t supposed to mention. When she finished, Krvava took a look at Atalic who was sweating bullets. “Dammit Atalic, this is why we don’t tell you everything in the briefings,” Said Medical. “But at last, we got ourselves an ally for our coup it seems,” “Indeed,” Said Krvava. “But in exchange, you too would need to help us changelings in our coup,” “Yes we will, it’s in the best of both of our interests,” Medical extended a hoof, “Allies?” “Allies,” The Changeling smiled and shook the Minister’s hoof. “This might the beginning of a beautiful relationship of cooperation between ponies and changelings, this calls for your introduction to the others, wouldn’t you say?” “Indeed,” The first rays of sunlight began streaming through the curtains. Twilight began to stir awake, a pounding headache ringing her head to pieces. Groaning, Twilight tried to get up from the bed, before failing spectacularly, splaying her limbs in all directions and landing on the floor face first. The sound of a door opening attracted the lavender unicorn’s attention, she turned to see a white earth pony mare rushing over to her. “Oh dear, oh dear,” muttered the newcomer, slinging one of Twilight’s forearms onto her neck. “Come on now, to the bathroom,” Twilight’s steps were wobbly and unstable as she was escorted to the bathroom. Once spotting the toilet, she collapsed onto it and began vomiting. The white earth pony said, “I’ll... leave you here for now, i’ll Let the others know,” Twilight turned to the mare as the left the bathroom and was about to say her thanks before needing to vomit even more of her stomach fulids. The room smelled of alcohol and smoke. A map of Equestria thrown disarrayed across the pool table. Medical, Atalic, and Krvava, back in her disguise, were all around said pool table. Looking over the map, running over the last details. During the night, one of Krvava’s comrades came over disguised as a Kirinese Food Deliver pony, and passed along some of her orders to the rest of the rebellious Changelings. Iron Arrow was the only one not hunched over the map. The other generals had left at dawn to assume command at their planned locations. Iron downed another bottle of beer. He knew his liver wouldn’t last another half decade, might as well die drinking. The door to the room was opened as a white earth pony trotted through, Iron turned to her. “So... the Princess’ Protege is awake?” She nodded. Iron got out of his seat, dusting his uniform a bit, and trotted over to the trio. “Sir, the Protege has awoken,” Twilight trotted out of the toilet after vomiting for some time. Taking a seat on a stool in the room that was next to the bed. She looked around the room, there wasn’t much. Only a bed, a closet, two doors, one of which wasn’t leading to the bathroom, and a single window. Twilight pulled the curtains open to see the sun rising on the horizon. Not much clouds in the sky, only the sun. It reminded a bit, of her. The first time she saw her raise the sun, the time she did the entrance exam, the times she spent under her wing, the times she spent learning, the time she left her to head out of Canterlot, the time she left her, abandoned her, cut ties off with- The curtains were shut closed once more. It reminded too much of her. And the rest. Twilight sunk her head low. The events of yesterday replaying in her head. And now here she was, in a room, somewhere. She doubted any of her former friends, family, nor mentor would want to try and find her. The door opened for second time that day. Twilight turned and saw three ponies trotted into the room. Only one of which she vaguely recognized, having seen him many times around the castle. “Medical... Atlas?” She asked, and the unicorn facing her gave a nod. The name barely registering in her mind. She remembered him... vaguely. She remembered him vaguely talking with... her. “W-why are you here? To bring m-me back? To her?” Medical raised an eyebrow, so did the other two ponies accompanying him. The two Pegasi exchanged looks, one blue and one in the shades of red, before returning to her. “Her? Who exactly?” Asked Medical, taking a step closer to her, “I’m assuming... Celestia?” Twilight nodded. A chuckle escaped the green unicorn’s lips, “Well we aren’t, you’re here because these two chaps,” He gestured to the two Pegasi behind him, “found you, half passed out on the streets of Canterlot. By the way, why exactly were you on the streets of Canterlot at roughly midnight?” “Because... I was out drowning my sorrows... you know, hehe, seeing my brother after quite some time and suddenly he’s getting married! Hehe...” Twilight did not sound convincing at all, and that was something that Medical quite obviously could tell. “Are you sure?” Asked Medical; taking an extra step forward towards the Princess’s Protege. “Yep!” Medical turned back to Krvava, and nodded at her. “Take the Stage,” In a flash, Krvava shed her disguise and she stood there in her Changeling form. Twilight recoiled in shock, her horn lighting up a defense spell. “What are you?!” She shouted. “A Changeling,” said Krvava. “And I have a lot to tell you...” //-------------------------------------------------------// World In Motion //-------------------------------------------------------// World In Motion Twilight stood in shock. Everything made sense now. Why Cadence acted like how she did, why she casted that spell on Shining! It made sense now! Medical was staring out the window, as the sun rose a bit by bit. He was nervously looking at his pocket watch constantly. Atalic had long since left the room to play his part in the upcoming coup, and Krvava the Changeling looked at Twilight with a tense expression. “It makes sense...now...” Said Twilight softly. “Does it?” Asked Krvava; she let out a yawn, I shouldn’t have stayed up all night... she thought to herself. “Yes, yes it does.:. It explains Cadence’s behavior, and everything! Pretty much everything! Except...” “Except what?” The Changeling might have been able to read emotions, but she couldn’t read the lavender unicorn’s mind. She could sense sadness, and worry from her. “Why did they abandon me then?” “What do you mean?” Inquired Krvava. “My friends, Shining, and the Princess... they abandoned me during the reherasal... and from what you said they weren’t affected by any magic... so why did they, did they-“ Krvava pulled the mare into a hug, long since detecting the impending emotional crash. Twilight let out a sob, crying her heart out on to the Changeling’s chitin. Medical stared at the whole ordeal in silence, before choosing to leave the room. He had seen the modernization Equestria experienced in the last few years, it was something unprecedented, and amazing. Equestria grew stronger and more able to defend itself from foreign threats. No need to fear Griffonian Raiders when you can match their speed with planes. No need to fear Airship fleets when aircraft and anti - aircraft turrets can blow them out of the sky. No need to lose ponies in clearing out an area for mining against Ursa Majors when you had rifles and artillery. It was Glorious. But their progress was being impeded. The nobility wished to exploit the common pony who seeked to improve their lives. The Leftists seek to exploit this to destroy the culture of their nation itself. And Equestria itself wasn’t the only one experiencing modernization, other threats were lurking about and preparing to strike. Only one group can be properly protect and lead Equestria in such times, the Military. The Aristocracy is nothing more than an Oligrachy, the suggestions of Democracy by the Communists were just suggesting for anarchy! The old must be properly exterminated to bring about Equestria’s true potential! None shall stop the march of history, and does who try will be confined to dustbin of history! That was why he had thrown his bid into becoming Minister of Defence. A noble would have done their best to persevere ancient military tactics, despite evidence in the advancement of motorization and aerial development. Several of the young commanders in the army were suggesting mass application of these ‘trucks’ as they were called not only to haul supplies, but to bring troops forward to the front and bring about what they called “Lightning Warfare”. An interesting concept that suggested breaking through the enemy’s force and chasing them down as fast as possible, giving them no chance to regroup and rebuild. It would have been shot down if a noble were in charge of the Ministry. Just more proof that the nobility was to be cleansed away from Equestria. Add on top of the recent incident that Twilight Sparkle seemed to give away. The Bearers Of Harmony, being disharmonious and abandoning one of their own? That was something unheard of. And Celestia doing the same to her Student? The exact same pony?! What was this world coming to? Medical stepped out of the inside of the manor and on to a balcony. It gave a clear view of Equestria from it’s position in Canterlot. He could see a bit of the Applelousan settlement from here so did Ponyville, and the Everfree seemed to stretch forever to the horizon. Equestria was a beautiful place, it cannot be lost to the hooves of corrupt nobles and delusional idealists . Somepony had to protect it, who else would do a better job than the Ministry of Defense? The clouds in the sky, in their ever random shapes, drifted along. The wind flew across it all. Faust created such a beautiful world, it was their duty to cultivate it. How can do many beings not see it? Twilight sniffled as she wiped the tears off her face with a tissue. Krvava held the mare as she continued off on her ramble, getting all her worries out. “...a-and they mocked and called me an egghead!” It had been... interesting to say the least. Twilight the little young mare had spilled out every secret and fear she had since she could remember. Some of them worried Krvava wondering about her mental health. Twilight sniffled again, and looked at Krvava. “Why are you here? You said that Queen Chrysalis was planning on taking over Equestria... wait no! Equestria! I gotta tell the -“ Putting a hoof on Twilight’s mouth, Krvava sufficiently “Shhh” -dd the lavender mare into submission. “Listen, you already know that i’m against Queen Chrysilas, I have friends who are also against her, and Medical Atlas also have troops prepared to deal with her, everything is under control,” “A-are you sure?” “Yes,” Krvava turned to the window, the sun was halfway to noon. The coup should already be taking place... she turned back to Twilight, who was looking at the sun. A weird bubble of emotions seemed to be forming in her, just from the sun. “So... you do know why i’m helping Medical right?” Said the Lieutenant, hoping to change the subject of the conversation and preventing Twilight from having a psychological breakdown. “With... the coup and all?” “Yes, yes that,” “Well you said you wanted to overthrow an unfair Queen... and I can understand... I still don’t understand why Medical wants to overthrow the Princesses though... isn’t it better to have them in power?” Twilight Asked. “I’ll be honest with you, I also don’t know fully, the stallion’s hoping that with the removal of the Princesses, they can finally bring Equestria to greatness. No more nobles holding them back, no more injustice to the people,” “I... I could fight for that, I can relate. Nobles are so... annoying,” the mare gave a timid smile at the Changeling who returned it. “I can understand such a revolution,” “Revolution? No no dear, it’s a changing of government,” Said Medical, entering the room again. “Isn’t it still like a revolution? You are changing governments... forcefully,” Medical chuckled. “Well I guess we are. In a few hours, the Equestria you know will be under the hoof of the military, as we bring about proper progress to this land...” “And what type of progress, do you wish to bring upon?” “A progress to the an age where all shall prosper, under the watchful gaze... of a proper leader,” Twilight closed the book and looked at the classroom of fillies and colts. Some of them were half dozing away, and some, well one actually, was carefully taking down notes of today’s lesson. The school bell rung and it awoke all the ponies that were dozing off. All of them, in a flash, packed everything into their saddlebag, flashed Twilight a salute before rushing out the room and into the hallway. The aging unicorn smiled at the antics of the younger generation, even if a revolution changed the very fabric of Equestrian society, much still stayed the same. She then realized that a colt was standing in front of her desk. It was the colt who took notes down diligently. Twilight with a caring smile looked over the young colt. “And what is it do you want, Feather?” “W-when are we gonna learn about the North-South d-divide Of Equestria, Ms. Twilight? I heard it was v-very interesting,” It warmed her heart to see a pony interested in history, after all she was the resident school’s history teacher. “Next week, now shouldn’t you be out playing with your friends?” “Umm... oh yes! Aerial said that they were gonna play chase! See ya Miss Twilight!” The colt rushed out the classroom door, leaving Twilight alone. She leaned back into her chair, and pondered. What is it really worth it? Backing Medical Atlas and giving him legitimacy in becoming Equestria’s ruler? Science was advancing at such a quick pace it was hard to keep up, and life seemed to be better than it used to be. Of course; there is the occasional border skirmishes with the monarchists down south. But it was a small thing to fuss over. Life was... good. It really was a fortunate string of events.
