This is an alternate telling of the episode "Owl's Well That Ends Well". As much as I love MLP: Friendship Is Magic, we all know that the show is far from perfect. There are many things in the show that I think could have been handled better, and this episode is one of them. We all know what happened. Twilight hired Owlowiscious as a "junior assistant", Spike got jealous, there was a fake mouse covered in ketchup, and the rest is history.

This fanfic is my attempt to write a better version of this episode. For example, I wanted to make Spike much more sympathetic so he doesn't come across as the villain of the episode. I also wanted to emphasize Twilight's mistakes, and for her to actually try to make up for them, because I personally thought the conflict in this episode was just as much her fault as it was Spike's.

However, I mean no disrespect to the people responsible for the show, nor do I claim ownership of My Little Pony. This fanfic is purely for fun, and is simply my opinion.
