A white pegasus Lay on a matress in his room anxiously waiting for the buzzer signifying he needed to get up. To say he was anxious would be an understatement. This was probably the most important day of his entire life, for today was graduation day. He has been training hard for the past 10 years for this day.
He shut his eyes for a moment to think about the day he got recruited, well, he tried. The moment he shut his eyes his partner decided she would wake up. The pale yellow pegasus with a cyan and yellow mane in the shape of a swirl on top of an ice cream cone looked over to her left, saw her partner and sighed.
"Still sleeping, do you even know what today is?!" She said in an annoyed tone to the stallion
"I'm up, I'm up" the stallion sighed before hopping off of his matress and stretching "you should really calm down krystal we're not in training anymore, we made it"
"Doesn't mean we should get cocky" she countered with a small frown "honestly where would you be if you didn't have me" she joked a little
"Off on a tropical beach somewhere" he joked back
Before Krystal could say anything they heard a loud buzzer from the hall
"Well, this is it...." Krystal said as they both stood up and walked out together
"Alright recruits line up" a blue pegasus shouted. This pegasus was none other than Dark crescent, the leader of the secret organization.
Krystal and Thunder Shadow lined up with the rest of their class and stood at attention, waiting for their leader to say something.
There were about 20 other recruits in the class, designated Class Epsilon. Next to Thunder Shadow was Murkey waters, a teal unicorn with a teal and purple mane. Next to Krystal was Ember Spark, an orange earth pony with a yellow and red mane.
"You have trained long and hard for a chance to join us as we protect equestria from the shadows and, I must admit, I am impressed. You have cleared with higher scores than most classes before you."
"Most, ma'am?" Thunder shadow asked respectfully
"Yeah most, you're forgetting I went through the same process you did rookie" Dark crescent said with a smug smirk.
A few chuckles were heard around the room as Krystal shot her partner an annoyed glance. He smiled down innocently at her and then looked back to the commander
"Alright, right now these agents are passing you your uniform." Dark crescent said as 2 unicorns entered the room with what looked like tuxedos and sunglasses.
Thunder and Krystal accepted theirs and shook the agents hoof.
"When I call you, step forward for your team name" dark said as she pulled out a list. "Thunder shadow and Krystal"
The duo stepped forward and stood at attention.
"You two will now officially be recognized as Team Midnight"
A young white colt was walking home after a long day at school. He was exhausted from the day and couldn't wait to get home and nap. He had been learning about equestrian myths and legends today which was boring as always. Today's topic was Nightmare Moon which, to him, was pointless. Everyone knew about the legend of the princesses fall to darkness and her eventual banishment. He didn't know why you needed to sit there for 3 hours and talk about something everyone knew about.
He was snapped out of your thoughts when he heard a small crash come from an ally close to him. Turning to his right he swore he saw a shadowy figure move further into the alley. Walking cautiously over you went into the alley to see who it was.
"Hello?" He called
All of a sudden 3 ponies, 2 pegsai and a unicorn, appeared as if out of nowhere. All 3 of them were wearing tuxedos and sunglasses.
Thunder stood their in complete shock. It was like they had been invisible and decided to uncloak when he went to them. All of a sudden realization hit him and his shock turned into horror when he realized what was going on.
This was a kidnapping.
"Your coming with us" the unicorn said to him. He turned around to run but saw he was trapped as 3 earth ponies in tuxedos stood at the entrance of the alley. He was trapped.
"Leave me alo-" was all he managed to say before he felt something strike the back of his head.
Thunder woke up in a cold sweat looking around in a panic.
"Woah calm down Thunder what's up?" asked Krystal in a concerned tone. This had been happening for as long as she could remember, but everytime she asked what was wrong she always got the same answer.
"I'm fine Krissy just a bad dream" he replied tired.
"You know I hate it when you call me that..." she said in an annoyed manner.
"I know krissy" he said with a smug smirk
Krystal mumbled something under her breath and turned to Thunder to retort but found him fast asleep. She smiled before laying down an drifting into dreamland as well.
Canterlot was starting to calm down for the night when Luna decided to start her duties. She bid her sister, Celestia, a good night before making her way to her room. After making her way into the land of dreams she started searching for ponies having nightmares. Most of the time the nightmares were small and easy to deal with so she took this time to relax and let her guard down a bit.
She was flying slowly through the landscape when all of a sudden she stumbled across a nightmare. This nightmare was different, she could feel it before she even went in. It was more powerful then the ones she usually dealt with. She took a deep breath, knowing she was going to have to be careful in their. She opened the door and prepared to confront whatever Lay on the other side.

Luna was sitting at a long table looking off in the distance, lost in thought. After entering the nightmare she stumbled across she was left in complete shock. She had seen a white pegasus colt walking home from school. After seeming innocent enough he had turned into an alleyway as if he'd seen something. That's when she saw them. Ponies in suits, ponies she thought she would never see again. What convinced her it had to be them was the way they just.....appeared. It was as if they'd been invisible before the poor colt stumbled across them.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when a pair of golden doors opened and a white alicorn stepped through. "Hello Luna, was all fine in the dream realm last night?" She asked her sister. "Yes all was fine Celestia" she lied, "how was your sleep? "It was wonderful thank you" Celestia replied.
As they ate Luna couldn't stop thinking about the nightmare.
"I had set up that organization before I turned into Nightmare Moon how are they still around." she thought to herself. One thing she knew for certain was that they needed to be stopped. They were going around kidnapping foals for celestia knows why. After finishing breakfast she made her way to the royal archives. She kept moving until she had reached the forbidden section. When she got their she pulled a certain book slightly off the shelf. The bookshelf the book was on slid out of the way revealing a secret pathway. "Not even Celestia knows about this" she whispered to herself as she stepped inside with the bookshelf closing behind her.
"FUCK" Thunder Shadow shouted as he recieved a paw to the face by a diamond dog. Team midnight had recieved it's first official mission about 15 minutes ago. Apparently a large group of diamond dogs had been spotted in a cave close to ponyville. Midnight was tasked with blowing the place to hell with a crap ton of dynamite. All had been going well until Thunder had tripped over a rock and got the attention of every diamond dog in the cave. Krystal was probably more pissed than she had ever been but Thunder decided he would run for his life later.
After wiping some blood of his muzzle Thunder just barely had enough time to catch another blow. He looked over and saw Krystal holding up pretty well. She had just finished knocking out another diamond dog before turning to look at him smugly.
"Having trouble over there?" She asked smugly. "Oh Ha Ha" said thunder sarcastically as he delivered a right hook to a diamond dog. "Can we just hurry this up."
After knocking out the rest of diamond dogs, the duo proceeded to unzip the duffle bags they were holding and started to plant the dynamite. "Don't you think this is a little much?" Thunder asked as he dumped the dynamite on the floor. "A little but these are our orders so who are we to argue" Krystal replied.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that" said a mysterious voice behind the duo. The two turned around and prepared for a fight. What they saw was a tall white pegasus. What surprised them the most however, was the fact that his wings were made of what appeared to be metal.
"Who are you exactly?" Thunder asked cautiously as the newcomer gave them a smug smirk. "You can call me Iron Wing" the intruder said, the smirk never leaving his face. "Original" Krystal said sarcastically. "Well I was gonna give you the option to surrender but you've just pissed me off" Iron Wing said as he frowned.
"Krystal light the dynamite I'll keep him busy" Thunder whispered. Krystal nodded and ran off in the direction in the dynamite. Iron wing tried to run after her but Thunder blocked his path. "Pay attention, your fighting me" he shouted as he threw a punch that connected and made Iron Wing stumble backwards.
After a few minutes of fighting, both sides taking their fair share of hits, Thunder's curiosity got the better of him. "So, metal wings?" He asked. "How and why?"
"Unimportant" replied Iron Wing as he punched Thunder. All of a sudden Krystal appeared next to Iron wing and bucked him in the face sending him flying backwards. "We gotta go" she said seriously as the duo ran towards the cave exit. After running far enough away they turned around to see Iron Wing running at them angrily as the cave behind him collapsed.
Thunder tried to throw a punch but it was blocked with little effort. Thunder tries to pull his hoof back but Iron Wing held onto it tightly. He used his other hoof to punch Thunder in the leg as hard as he could.
Thunder laid on the ground screaming in agony as his leg was bent in a way it wasn't supposed to be. "THUNDER" screamed Krystal as she ran to her partner and tried to calm him down. She looked up and saw Iron wing ready to attack her as well.
She hurried up and turned a dial on the side of her watch she had recieved from her uniform. The watch was a helpful gadget that was for sure. The unicorn engineers back at HQ developed it for all the agents shortly after Nightmare Moon was defeated and Luna was turned back to normal. It contained a spell within it that would teleport the wearer and whoever they were holding back to HQ.
Dark Crescent was patiently waiting on the return of her last team. She had sent all the newest teams on pretty simple missions to help them get some on field experience. All the teams had returned except for midnight. She was actually starting to get worried. Sure those two weren't the best in their class by any means, but they were still capable agents. She wasn't worried about said agents, not by a long shot. She was worried that they had been captured and giving away some very valuable information.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when said agents finally were teleported back to HQ. Dark Crescent was ready to ask how the mission went when she stopped in her tracks and finally saw the shape they were in. Krystal was relatively fine, only a couple tears I'm her eyes as she was staring at her partner. It was Thunder that worries her. He was unconscious with his leg bent in a way it wasn't supposed to be.
Krystal looked up to the crowd that was starting to gather.
"Help him!" She said almost sounding panicked.
