Extra: New Armor

Captain Luna stared at her new helmet with wonder. She was already in the brand new Phase II armor that has been distributed enmass to the Republic Army.

The Phase II Armor was designed to fix some of the flaws with the Phase I variant. The new armor allowed her troops to become more specialized, having the ability to the variety of equipment they needed to use. It was lighter, more flexible, and extremely comfortable compared to the Phase I. Especially the helmet.

Luna hated the old Phase I helmet. It felt like someone just cut holes in a bucket and put it on her head. But the Kaminoans ensured that she and her sisters would receive better fitting armor.

With the new armor, Luna was able to ask for a specific type. She had the standard body armor, but instead of the new Phase II helmet, she held a BARC Trooper helmet in her hooves.

The helmet was designed to keep the trooper’s attention forward at high speeds. It was definitely going to make her stand out. Well, more than she already did.

Cadence took comfort in her new armor. She especially enjoyed the chance to customize it. The 212th Attack Battalion was told that they can customize their armor, with whatever paint design they want, so long as it was orange to mark their unit.

She received the same armor as her other men, with a few more assets to mark her as an officer; such as her shoulder pauldron and a kama. Her helmet also had the macrobinoculars attached. A tool that she can flip down to see further. It saved her room in her toolkit when she did not need the handheld binoculars.

The captain watched her men begin work on their armor, adding little designs to make them standout. She felt her heart melt when Waxer added a small picture of Little Numa to the side of his helmet.

They never had a chance to return to Ryloth and see if she was alright. But they made a promise and clones kept their promises.

With that thought in mind, she grabbed the armor paint and got to work.

Celestia smiled as she watched her men show off their armor designs. She enjoyed the little designs they had made to make them unique. But she hated the armor color. Since the 187th was mostly commanded by general Windu, most of the men agreed that they should wear purple. It seemed like a good idea that first, but now the alicorn commander was not so sure. She hated the purple that covered her armor. Her new armor was something to behold.

It was the new Airborne Armor, including the complementary kama, and a bandolier wrapped around her chest. Unlike the rest of her men, she did not have an antennae sticking out of the back. The 187th was mostly recon and vanguard assaults, so they would need long distance communicators built in.

All three commanders placed their helmets on their heads and stood in front of their men. The new armor gave a whole new look to the Clone Army. No longer were they the peacekeeping force the Republic wanted them to be.

Doctrines have changed, battles were now fought with more aggressive strategies, and the armor reflected that. It made them look more intimidating, more like soldiers bred to win wars. For better or worse, this was the new Clone Army.
