Chapter 1 : The Discovery

It was 6am , the sun was just starting to rise over Ponyville and RainbowDash was just getting up.
Dash opened her eyes to the site of the sun which her cloud mansion had been positioned perfectly to face,
She loved the mornings and she loved Tank , Who she knew was lying on the pillow directly behind her...

She got out of her cloudy covers and stood up , shook out her rainbow colored mane and trotted out on to the balcony overlooking Ponyville whilst she waited for Tank to wake up. Other than spending time with her friends , this was her Favorite time of the day.

It was half six by the time Tank woke up and manged to walk over to the balcony...after all , he was a tortoise.
Dash gave him a hug and then carried him to the closet were she helped him put on his propeller cap then went downstairs.
She opened the fridge to check what she had left for breakfast.

"There's nothing left in here Tank" said Dash

Tank frowned slowly.

"We'll just have to get something from Sugar-cube corner when every-pony wakes up" she sighed

They waited an hour for every-pony to wake up (now half seven) and flew down to Sugar-cube corner and walked inside the bakery were she got a box of sugar frosted hayflakes (her favorite cereal ).

"Hey pinkie ,what u doin?" she said as she walked out of the store towards her friend

"Twitch a twitch , twitch a twitch...RUN!" she replied

they all ran for cover , knowing that pinkie sense was telling them that something was about to fall...
they got inside just in time , the 'something' (as they had no idea what it was) fell just as Tank got threw the door (not so slow when wearing a propeller cap). They walked outside to check what it was that almost fell on them...
It was a glowing golden ball of some description...

"Whaty the worldy is that" exclaimed Pinkie pie

"No idea... maybe we should take it to twilight?"said Rainbow Dash

So they went to see twilight about the strange object.

"Hey twilight " Pinkie and Dash said in unison

"Hey girls" said twilight without even looking up from her studies.

"We need you to look at something" said Dash

Tank made a noise in agreement

"1 second...annnnnddd im done, now what can i do for you girls" she said now looking at them

"We need you to have a looky at this strange bally thing?" said Pinkie who she herself was very confused by what she just said.

"WERE DID YOU GET THAT!" twilight sparkle exclaimed

"I...i...It fell on us at Sugar-cube corner...why is it yours?"stuttered Rainbow Dash

"Oh Celestia no"she said looking for a book

she found the book 'ancient methods of communication' was its title

"Here it is, that is a halographalogical sphere." She Continued "one would be sent out in case of a life changing discovery...
the last one was meant to be the meaning of life but it was lost eons ago"

"How do we open it"said Pinkie uncharacteristically quiet

"Like this " said Twilight as she hit it repeatedly with the book...

'Welcome Rainbow Dash and friends, this prerecorded message will explain the meaning of life' the sphere continued
'The meaning of life is the one thing that you don't crave because you think no one will ever give it to you...love.You also know that your friends have it for none living things, Twilight for books and Pinkie for party's...'

"How do you know my name"exclaimed RainbowDash

'I don't , i am simply a series of prerecorded messages which has been coded to react to some questions my creator did but i know nothing'said the sphere

"You speak too fast and...and what the heck are you on about?"replied Pinkie

'As I said before I am here to tell Rainbow Dash that she needs to find love to make her life complete'The sphere said yet again.

"Your telling me that the reason i always feel so empty is because i need someone to love me?..."asked Dash

'Yes!' the sphere said after a long break

"Ok"said Rainbow Dash

So Pinkie , Dash and Twilight agreed to go after Rainbows true love (whoever the fuck that might be)
they agreed on taking :
sunglasses,
flip flops,
snow boots,
winter coat,
and
food

They also decided it would be best to leave their pets at home.

"We will to be as Thoreau as possible by only going to places that we have a chance in so we will go from here in Ponyville to Dodge city to Apple Loosa to Los Pegasus to Canterlot and finally to Cloudsdale"twilight announced

They all agreed.
They went to Fluttershy and dropped of there pets before going home to pack.
"Sunglasses...Check"Dash said picking them up of her bedside table
"Flip flops...In the shoe closet...Check"she continued
"Snow Boots...also in the shoe closet..."she said but she couldn't find them "Oh yes there under my bed...Check"
"Where's my winter coat..."she pondered for a moment...then remembered that she had left it on her manikin thinking that she would never wear it again (the manikin had been a present from rarity) "check" she said
"food...Hmmm..."she thought "Im meant to bring breakfast so ill just bring the sugar frosted hayflakes that I bought earlier..."

They had all agreed to meet up in the town center at 4pm so she spent up until 3:30pm playing on her copy of Wii fit...

She loved Wii fit it was her Favorite game...she especially love the flying penguin mini game.

They met up at 4pm like they had agreed and set off for dodge city,
after about an hour of walking twilight used her magic to set up camp in a small grassy plane.
they cooked vegetable lasagna before going to bed at six (after all they had a loooonng way to walk in the morning)
