Getting Rainbow's Cider
As Granny Smith sorted the apples, Big Mac churned the massive crank for the apple press. The crank was almost as tall as Big Mac himself, but he worked the machine with gusto and determination. “Well, I'm not sure. Flim, Flam, would you object to honorary family members helping?” Ms. Mayor asked.
“Are you kidding?” Flim taunted.
“We don't care if the whole kingdom of Canterlot helps. It's a lost cause.” Flam took a long draw from his cider mug.
“Then I guess it's okay...” Ms. Mayor told Twilight. “Applejack, what do you think?”
Applejack bucked another tree. Applebloom scrambled to gather the fallen apples and rush them to Granny. “I think I'd love to have the rest of my family helpin' out.” Applejack almost gasped out the words. Then she whipped her brow and bucked the next tree.
Big Mac almost grinned. He knew that Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and the others accomplished amazing feats all by themselves. With them helping, the Apple family stood a chance. The next thing he knew, Rainbow Dash stood in front of him, stripped down to a sports bra and her snug joggling pants. She offered him a bottle of water and a Dragon energy drink. “Guzzle down, Big Mac. I'll work the press while you recharge.”
Big Mac took the drinks with a thankful nod. Despite Rainbow Dash's lithe form, she grabbed the crank and spun it with almost as much speed and force as Big Macintosh. Not to be outdone, he downed the two drinks, peeled off his soaked shirt, and tossed the empty containers aside. In only a matter of seconds, the pair set up a rhythm of working the crank back and forth. The pattern moved the crank faster than either of them could do alone. Plus, it kept both of them from getting too tired since each of them was only doing half the pumping.
Fluttershy flew through the trees as fast as Applejack could buck them. With Applebloom's and Pinkie's combined energy and acrobatics, the apple bushels gathered around Rarity and Granny with astonishing speed. Rarity, used to working on tight deadlines, sorted the barrels with both speed and grace. Twilight capped the barrels and switched them out. Spike kept an eye on the time and helped Twilight keep track of how much cider each side barreled up. Rainbow Dash and Big Mac kept working the pumps. Her wings pulled tightly to her body. Big Mac could not quite match her speed. However, his sheer size and years of hard work on the farm gave him the strength that Rainbow Dash lacked. Together, they squeezed out barrel after barrel.
“They're catching up to us. We've got to pick up the pace.” Worry filled Flim's voice.
Flam's eyes filled with panic. “Right! Double the power!” The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 pulled up apples, trees, bracken, and dirt all at once.
Flim looked through the Apple Selection Window. “Too many apples are being declined! We've got to try something else!”
A grin spread across Flam's face. “I've got it, brother of mine!” He turned off the Apple Selector. Every bit of apple and debris sped into the machine's juicer.
“Gah! We don't have time for quality control if we're gonna win this thing!” She shoved the crank back to Big Mac and darted to Granny and Rarity.
Big Mac grunted. The crank slammed into his hands. With a snort, he wrestled the machine to keep the speed going.
“Git back, you!” Granny waved Dash away. “One bad apple spoils the bunch.”
“We'll just have to work harder, everypony!” Twilight shouted encouragingly.
“All right then. Double time!” Dash downed her last Dragon and raced back to the crank. “Sorry about that, Big Mac.”
Big Mac pushed the crank back to her. “'S'aright.”
The pair pushed the press as fast as it could go. The moment the Mayor called “Time's up!” Dash and Big Mac collapsed, panting for breath. The crank spun around two or three times before stopping.
“Flim and Flam win!” Ms. Mayor called out.
“What??” everypony called out in surprise.
“Too bad, Apples,” Flim goaded them.
Flam added, “Guess you'll just have to find a new line of work that doesn't match your names quite so perfectly.”
“Now should we tear down all these tacky old buildings and put new ones up, brother?” Flim asked as he looked out over Sweet Apple Acres.
“I don't see why not, brother.” Flam shot the Apples a look of smug triumph. “After all, this isn't Sweet Apple Acres anymore.” He pulled out a sign. “How about Flim Flam Fields?”
Rainbow Dash ran towards the pair. “I oughta press you into jerk cider!!”
AJ held her back. “No, Dash. A deal's a deal.” The Apple family turned to their old house. “Come on, Apples. Let's go pack our things.”
The eyes of everypony around teared up. Sure, it's a great thing to finally have enough cider for all of them, but Sweet Apple Acres was a Ponyville institution. Applejack helped save Ponyville more than once. Granny Smith's kindness and wisdom helped many a pony. And there were no more dependable and kind ponies than Big Mac and Applebloom. To have to stand by and watch as the Apples walked away dejectedly hurt more than words could express.
“Fear not, everypony. There's enough cider to go around!” Flim called out. Flam chuckled heartily.
“Go ahead, everypony,” AJ encouraged them. “It's okay.”
The Apples had not even made it down to their house when the sounds of “Ugh!” and “That's disgusting!” and “Ew!” filled the air.
“I can't get the taste off my tongue!”
“Mine's got rocks in it!”
“I wouldn't pay one bit for this dreg!”
Big Mac motioned for the rest of the Apples to wait. Flim and Flam kept knocking down the prices of their cider, but with every offer, they were met with growing resentment from the citizens of Ponyville. Not only had these crooks tried to sell them the worst cider they ever had, but they also tried to chase the Apples out of Ponyville.
“Looks like no pony wants our product.” Flim shuffled his legs.
“Next town?” Flam asked.
Flim grabbed the Flim Flam Acres sign. “Next town.” They hopped on their Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 and roared away.

Once everypony had their fill of Sweet Apple Acres Cider, Fluttershy, Rarity, Twilight, Dash, and Pinkie stayed on to help the Apples clean up. Granny Smith treated them all to an authentic Apple Family Feast. As everypony else sat around the table talking and unwinding, Big Mac walked out to the field. He picked up his discarded shirt and drink containers when he heard wings flapping behind him.
The large stallion turned around just as Rainbow Dash dropped to stand beside him. “I'm sorry about runnin' off and makin' you crank alone.”
Big Mac shrugged. “S'okay.”

Together they walked towards the south fields. “I love parties! Dancing and cider and games – maybe a bit of sweaty fun, if ya know what I mean.” Dash's wings popped out just a bit. “It's a great way to unwind.”
“'Sweaty fun?'” Big Mac gave her a sideways look.
“Oh my gosh. You mean you never had sweaty fun??”
“Ah.” Big Mac nodded, understanding. “Ah fucked before, yeah.”
“Oh yeah?!? Who with?”
Big Mac shook his head. “Ain't tellin'.”
Rainbow Dash elbowed him. “You big liar.”
“Nope.”
