When a world that has known centuries of chaos, disharmony and suffering ended its last great war, peace did not guarantee everyone's survival. With everyone struggling to pick up the pieces, some are forgotten. Starvation of both the body and spirit threaten to continue the suffering. With time running out, the lives of a young refugee and a resourceful Pegasus pilot become intertwined as they teach each other about the power of family, friendship and hope in the darkest of times.

The first chapter is a memory of the refugee but the subsequent chapters are all letters and journals written by the pilot she came to know as Ditzy. As Ditzy and her friends travel the land, she records their deeds, thoughts and the lessons she learns from them about each of the elements required to bring harmony to the world.
