//-------------------------------------------------------// Uncle Leo In Equestria -by ImperialMcgee- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Strange New World //-------------------------------------------------------// Strange New World Uncle Leo, a super mutant from the infamous Vault 87, was currently taking the time to lay-out under the stars after a long day of wandering the irradiated Capital Wasteland. "I wonder if there's life out in the stars? Worlds, that haven't been engulfed in nuclear fire?" He said out loud to no one in particular. "I...wish, there was some sign of other-worldly life out there in the big universe, so that this wasteland wouldn't seem so lonely..." He let a tear fall down his cheek. "Maybe, if I wish upon a shooting star, like I've read in the story books, something would happen." At that moment he saw a shooting star streak across the irradiated night sky. "I wish, for a world where there is peace, and where the sky is blue, and a world that is untouched by the horrors of war!" He shouted, still staring at night sky. He, saw the shooting star fade away like drop of water in the ocean. 'Maybe, some day' He thought to himself. He, then decided to turn over on his side, and close his eyes. He then let sleep overtake him, tears still flowing down his cheeks. Uncle Leo, awoke to the sound of...birds chirping? and a smell of unpolluted air?...At that moment Uncle Leo's eyes shot up, bewildered and dazed. He quickly was blinded by the sun, he squinted. When his eye's adjusted, what he saw amazed him. A lush field of...grass. flowers as far as the eye can see. Animals going about their business, a pond with fishes swimming around in the crystal clear waters. And at the top, of the hill near some trees that made up the forest, was a small cottage. With bird houses hanging on the trees leading up to it. The cottage itself was across a tiny bridge that lay across a small brook. Uncle Leo was beyond amazed. "My, wish...had it really come true?..." He said barely holding back tears. He then, put his attention on the small cottage. 'I wonder who lives there?' he thought genuinely. He, then proceeds to carefully walk up over the bridge, and up the path leading up to the cottage. He, got the front door, and stopped. 'What, if they're hostile? What if they try to attack me!? What if they run away from me just because I look different?!' All of these thoughts raced through his mine. He, couldn't take it. he curled up into a ball, and started crying. Unbeknownst to him, the door was cracked just a little. Small enough so that a small equine could slip-through. Uncle Leo caught up in sobbing, failed to see a yellow hoof gingerly touch him on the leg. He stopped, as soon as he felt something touch him. Looking up from where he was laying he saw a very strange sight. A, yellow pony with wings and pink mane and tale, as soon as he looked up, the pony in question let out an 'eep' and backed away a slightly. Uncle Leo was devastated. He couldn't help but sob. "Why do, I have to be so alone!? All, I have been given always ends in suffering!" He sobbed between breaths. At, that moment he felt something soft wrap it's self around his waist. "Shh, there, there. No need to be scared." He stopped crying, and looked up confused. "Where? Who said that?" He looked around only to find the little equine hugging him from where he was laying. She giggled, much to his surprise. "Well, me of course!" The yellow equine looking up at him beaming. "You...you talked!" He said in amazement. "Of, course silly!" She giggled. "You're...you're not afraid of me?" He asked amazed. "At, first yes, when I saw you come up to my cottage. I thought you were going to attack me, and my animal friends." she said truthfully. "But, when you started crying I couldn't help coming out and trying to comfort you." She said honestly. "I..I-" He tried to say, but was stopped by a yellow hoof pressed on his chest. "Sh, don't say anything more." She said with a soft smile. Uncle Leo, was at a lost for words. No one in the Capital Wasteland would ever give him the light of day like this. Instead either shooting at him, or telling him to get lost. Uncle Leo, decided now was the time to stand up. He raise to his feet. Standing up at a whopping 7.8 feet tall which cast a shadow on the small equine who let out a 'eep' before backing away a few meters. "I thank you for your kind words, friend! I'll shall never forget them!" He said thankfully. She, couldn't help but smile. "Your very welcome!" She replied back. She thought for a moment. "How would you like to come in and have some tea, and biscuits?" She said thoughtfully. "Tea, and biscuits?..." That rang a bell, but why? Shaking his head, he decide to accept the offer. "I'd be glad to, my friend." He said smiling. But then a thought entered his mind. 'How will I fit into such a tiny house?' He, decided to ask. "My, little equine friend, how will I be able to fit into your house?" She stopped and smiled. "Oh, no! you wouldn't be able to fit! So I will just bring them out here!" He was amazed by her kindness. A important thought crossed his mind. "My, friend!" The yellow equine stopped and looked at him. "What is you're name?" She smiled. "Oh, my name's Fluttershy." she said cheerfully. "What's yours?" "Uncle Leo." He said finally, after much thinking. "Or, just Leo to my friends!" He added happily. "Now. just sit down, and I'll bring out the tea, and biscuits!" she said turning around and walking through the front door. He decided to take a seat, on the grass. He then took the time to look up into the clear-clear blue sky, and marvel at a everything around him. 'Wishes do come true...' He thought softly to himself. 'Wishes do come true....'
