The Darkness
The only noise you could hear was the crunching of the dead leaves and twigs under your hoofs. “This is the place” you say as you reach into your saddle bags and pull out the flashlight you brought with you. With click of the button then flashlight illuminated the dark woods around you. Twisting your head from left to right you look around the immediate area. So somewhere in these woods the famous “Slenderpony” lives. What a stupid story, it’s just to scare fillies and colts.
Well, time to start. You began walking forward. This wasn’t too bad. You’ve never been really afraid of the dark anyway. Just get through the night and you win the bet. Easiest 20 bits ever.
Maybe you could pass the time by singing a song. You began humming under your breath as you trot into the dark forest.
The Pages
The woods slowly began to fall darker around you. You look around at the trees, the light shining on the trees showing the light brown of the dead trees. The bright white flashing back at you was quite a surprise. You lightly trot towards the tree and peer at the white piece of paper that had reflected your flashlight beam.
ALWAYS WATCHES
NO EYES
What does that even mean? You put down your flashlight and reach out and bite on the piece of paper so you can look at it closer. The picture on the page showed what looked like a filly standing in a forest; standing behind her was….. a giant pony. Not giant like big Macintosh, but tall..Really tall, and his legs were so skinny, you could probably blow on them and they could break. The biggest question though was, what is it doing here? And who put it here?
You roll it up and place it in your saddle bag, maybe you can ask someone about it when you get back. You reach down and pick the flash light back up when suddenly a strange feeling washed over you. Whipping your head behind you, you stare into the dark forest. Nothing. You turn back around and- WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!
You shine the flashlight back to where it was…. No..no just your eyes playing tricks on you. You brush it off and continue trotting into the forest.
