Epilogue: ...To The End

Previous Chapter

Princess Luna awoke and did the first thing since her reformation she'd been doing for the past week.

She looked at the mirror. Smiled at her reflection.

And then her reflection altered, like ripples in a pond, it became a darker Luna, one with slitted eyes and multisatured irises.

"You hate this", the mirror-dark-Luna said.

"We hate this," the real Luna replied, her smile shifting into a frown as she sat down. "I hate this."

"How do you think I feel? Back to being trapped unless you summon me?"

"And the worst part is--"

"Celestia is gone" her double finished.

"You felt him, just like before didn't you?"

"Discord?"

"No" mirror-dark-Luna scowled, "him before the Elements purged us of those dreaded Nightmare demons."

Luna, now trapped in the body of her youth, flipped her mane out of her eyes, and pondered. It took a second, then her eyes widened.

"It was him?!"

"It was him", the mirror-dark-Luna responded.

"Overcast..." they said together.

"So the Elements did not banish him like they did to us." Luna mumbled in thought.

"Perhaps" her double answered. "Or perhaps not."

"So many questions while we prepare for today."

"Yes," the mirror-dark-Luna sighed. "It will be too long before you are free to go about again."

Luna huffed, "Nonsense, in time surely we will be given our freedom. Till then" she looked up to her window, up at the sky. A sky where a twinkle had been.

"For now there are more important matters. Like today's announcement" her double stated, rising and copying Luna's actions as she rose and headed towards the sound of knocking.

"And we prepare for our coronation this day." Luna whispered to the ghost of a demon by her side.

"Come Bliss, we have much to do."

"And much to learn."

"Before we find him" they said as one.

Opening the door, there was chatter with the guards and then with a click, the princess of the night left her room.
