He kept his eyes shut. "You think he's dead?" Poke. Poke. "No, his chest is moving, see?" 'Go away.' Poke. "Then why's he just laying there?" 'GO. AWAY.' "Dunno'." Poke. 'THAT'S IT.' The Pegasus shot up from his lying position, startling the two little colts standing around him and causing the one holding the stick that had incured his wrath to drop it. He glared at the two colts with his yellow eyes, both of them frozen in place, looking back at him with their own set. Gritting his teeth, he stomped on the ground with his hoof, snapping the stick that had had woken him from his sleep. The two colts gasped, then galloped away, yelling for their mothers. 'Stupid kids...' He laid back down, pulling the blanket over his shoulders to keep warm. It was midday, and a cold breeze was blowing through Canterlot. It didn't help lying against a wall on the sidewalk, but the sun would warm him until another breeze rolled in. There were other ponies in the streets, but most ignored the situation entirely. "Sir, I'm afraid after that display that I am going to have to ask you to move." The pegasus' eyes shot open and looked up. He locked eyes with a burly, white unicorn clad in golden armour. He was missing the blue plume from his helmet, which inclined that he was another recruit of the royal guard. Greeeaaat. He got off the ground, slowly rising to meet the guard face to face. They were roughly the same height, but the guard was much stockier. The unicorn stared at him, showing not anger, but determination. Determination to make him move. And with the way the pegasus looked back at the unicorn guard, he wasn't going to anytime soon. The guard cocked an eyebrow, waiting for a response. They kept eye contact, both refusing to show any sign of weakness towards the situation. Finally, after what seemed like a good minute of uncomfortable staring, the guard shook his head and pointed his hoof at the stallion. "Sir, are you going to move or not?" The pegasus suddenly straightened up and turned his back to the guard. He began searching throught the litter and through the blanket for something. The guard was about to ask what he was doing until he turned back around, a notepad held in his mouth. The guard once again raised his eyebrow, but out of confusion. On the sheet of paper was a single word. 'NO.' "Uh..." the unicorn remained bewildered. The pegasus' shoulders slumped and he gave a flat stare. He looked back down at the notepad and proceeded to flip through a couple of pages and the showed  the recruit. 'I'M A MUTE" "Oh. Oh! I see." exclaimed the unicorn as he grasped the situation. Suddenly his eyes widened and he turned his head around to face down the street. The pegasus leand to the side to see what he was looking at. Standing halfway down the street where two other guards, both bearing blue plumes on their helmets. They were staring intently at them both. One of them nodded. Almost immediately the recruit spun his head back around and regained his composure. He gave the expressionless face that all of the guards wear. "Sir, I will ask again for the final time. Could you please move from this area to somewhere more suitable?" It sounded more like a demand than a question, although a slight rise in pitch towards the end gave away that he was not fully confidnet. He looked at the white coated stallion and saw a look of pleading in his eyes. Sighing, the pegasus nodded. The recruit mouthed the words thank you.
