Helping Someone Out 2: Overcoming Her Fear
Sweetie Belle was sulking in Ponyville schoolhouse as she was sad that she wouldnt be able to ever get over her fear of water. Even Cheerilee realized how sad she had been that day.
However Rarity and Twilight were going to help Sweetie Belle stop her fear since being afraid of the water was irrational.
Sweetie Belle truly hoprd that her fear would be beaten. The fear also didnt maje any sense to her as she wasnt scared of it before.
"Sweetie Belle please pay attention in class." Cheerilee said with a concerned look. Sweetie Belle snapped out of it and continued her work.
Sweetie Belle was anxious about the day as she had no idea about what was going to happen. The day dragged on agonizingly slow and before she knew it class ended.
When she left the classroom she went straight home. On the way home she stopped by a river in Ponyville and looked at it sadly as she tried to figure out scared her about water.
She wished she could be brave if she had she wouldnt be so scared. As she stood there Rainbow Dash gently touched Sweetie Belle's shoulder. Sweetie Belle turned around and saw her.
"Rainbow? Why are you here? Did you come to laugh at me?" Sweetie Belle moped. Rainbow Dash was shocked as she wasnt planning that at all.
"No absolutley not. I came to tell you that Rarity and Twilight want to help you with your fear by doing...exposure therapy. Although i could always help you." Rainbow Dash said. Sweetie Belle shook her head and looked away.
"Theres no use. You and me are opposites apart. Im not like you and i will never be like you. You can run fast youve saved Equestria so many times and me? Im an idiot that has a silly phobia. Theres no use to helping me." Sweetie Belle said.
"Thats not true Sweetie Belle. Have you forgotten about what good things youve done?" Rainbow Dash said.
"That doesnt matter. Im a sissy...your not scared of anything. We are worlds apart. So just leave me to sulk okay?" Sweetie Belle asked as she turned around figuring that was the end of the conversation.
"Thats not true." Rainbow Dash said after some silence had passed. Sweetie Belle turned around shocked at what she heard.
"What?! How is that not true?!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed.
"Sure i have alot of bravery. And if i had to i would dig through rusty nails to save my friends id climb over barbed wire to save my friends but that doesnt mean that I dont get scared. Ive been fearful many times. I feared for Twilight when i was captured by Discord as she planned to give up her magic in exchange for me and her friends. I was scared for Twilight during the time she was looking for the crystal heart. Brave doesnt mean that i cant get scared and dont have fears. Being brave is confronting situations and pushing your fears aside. Thsts what you have to do." Rainbow Dash explained. She wiped a few tears away.
Sweetie Belle was shocked by these revelations. This was the first time she had heard Rainbow Dash admitting something so personal and she knew that she was right.
"I understand....i have to overcome this then...I dont want to turn back now. I have to go forward with this." Sweetie Belle said.
"Yes you do. I wish you luck Sweetie Belle." Rainbow Dash said before she started jogging in another direction. Sweetie Belle sat down and thought about her conversation with Rainbow Dash.
Sweetie Belle took a short walk in Ponyville as she thought about confronting this herself. She soon sat by Twilights castle and decided to go through with this.
She walked up to the door of Ponyville'a castle and walked in to see Twilight.
"Hi Sweetie Belle...I have a feeling your here for my help." Twilight said.
"Your correct. I want to beat my fear of water. And i know how to do just that." Sweetie Belle said. Once she said this Twilight led Sweetie Belle out of the castle and to a river outside of the Everfree forest.
"Sweetie Belle you dont have to do this if you dont want to. We can go back its your decision." Twilight reminded her. Sweetie Belle shook her head.
"No. You and your friends saved Equestria multiple times. You got the crystal heart and Spike delivered it to the empire. You and your friends defeated Chrysalis, the Dazzlings, Tirek, Discord and reformed Starlight all in the act of saving Equestria. If you girls can do all that and if my own sister was able to get through these challenges then i can get over an unimportant miniscule fear of water. Rainbow Dash made me realize that i can beat a dumb fear." Sweetie Belle ranted. Twilight nodded with a smile.
"That is correct. Your fear is all in your head. Water is not going to hurt you. Your not going to drown if someone is with you and you wont ever drown once yiu get lessons." Twilight said.
"Your right Twilight...i think im ready now." Sweetie Belle said. Twilight held out her arms and Sweetie Belle took deep breaths as she walked into the water. She didnt look down as she just watched Twilight.
The water freaked her out at first but that seemed to go away once she was embraced by Twilight as they were now at the edge of the shallow end. Sweetie Belle closed her eyes expecting the worse but she then opened them realizing that she was in the water. Twilight gave her a kind smile.
"Hey....im in the water! Im actually in ghe water!" Sweetie Belle said as her fear dissaperated.
"How is it?" Twilight asked. When she was asked that she felt her fear being replaced by calmness. She couldnt believe it.
"Well im not scared anymore....this is what water feels like...i mean ive taken baths in the past but i must of forgot." Sweetie Belle said.
"Well im glad i could help. See? The water cant hurt you. Alls you need are swim lessons now." Twilight said.
"Lets take that slow. Im not ready for lessons just yet." Sweetie Belle giggled.
"I understand." Twilight said. As Sweetie Belle relaxed in the water there was one more thing she needed
"Twilight...theres one more thing i need to be sure of..." Sweetie Belle said.
"Sure tell me." Twilight stated as she listed to her.
"Those parasites that crawl into you dont live here...right?" Sweetie Belle asked. Twilight laughed and ruffled Sweetie Belle's hair.
"You mean worms? Sweetie Belle those things went extincy years ago! Theres none anywhere in Equestria! And besides if you were infected you would know it so that way you could alert whoever you are with and they would take you to the hospital where they can flush them out easily! But thats not going to happen. You can calm down now." Twilight laughed.
Sweetie Belle sighed with relief as she relaxed in the water. Silence passed between them. A few minutes later Sweetie Bell spoke.
"Im going to take lessons. I want to do this for the rest of my life." Sweetie Belle stated. Twilight smiled.
Soon both Sweetie Belle and Twilight got out of the water and went back to Carousel Boutique. When they both got inside Rarity hugged Sweetie Belle.
"Twilight told me before she left to get you. Im so happy you got help for this." Rarity said.
"How are you feeling?" Rarity asked as she pulled away from the hug.
"Better than ever! Can we get ice cream!?" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. Rarity ruffled her sisters hair.
"Of coarse we can!" Rarity said. Sweetie Belle cheered and headed outside. As Sweetie Belle left Rarity stopped and stared at Twilight while getting emotional.
Rarity hugged Twilight and Twilight hugged her back.
"Thank you Twilight." Rarity whisoered with gratefulness in her heart.
"Your welcome. Go have fun with your sister." Twilight said. They both stopped hugging and Rarity walked with Sweetie Belle for ice cream.
Twilight smiled at them and watched them walk off into the night before she turned around and headed back to her castle. It had been a good day.
