Silenced Nocturne

I wrote this really fast and it may seem random, and this is just a blur of thoughts.

In case any of this- oh, I didn't mess up. I was just walking down the hallway at school and I was like "oh buck I put a 'slice of life' tag on there didn't I" and I was so nervous, then I come home and see the dark tag and err, yeah. Something tells me that was Alexstraza helping me. Idk really. Probably. Well if it was you, thanks.

So, to start. All of my OCs have a history. (Most go along the lines of 'MrBossMan told me'). Well, this one is mostly mine, but you can kinda say it was his as he gave me the whole "Noctral" idea. So, he said that Luna's guards are called Noctrals. I took this a whole different direction.

So what I made up as a story as to why her guards are different is simple: Noctrals are a real separate tribe. Lorelei is one of them. In honor of them, she modeled her guards after them, blah blah blah, etc.

So Lorelei's a Noctral. Right. So where the hell did the name come from?

As a disclaimer, this will have a bunch of ideas thrown around with no relevance.

Well, originally Lorelei was gonna be musically inclined. Thus the name, Silenced Nocturne. I changed the storyline, but I thought the name was cool and it stuck. So, what is a Lorelei? Well, there's this giant rock on the coast of the Rhine river in Germany called the Lorelei. A Lorelei is a rough equivalent to the more well-known Siren. So, there's also a poem about the Lorelei, about a maiden betrayed by her lover, accused of witchcraft, then throws herself to her death... off the Lorelei. So, yeah.

So, this story was originally gonna be more Hopoe-Hi'iaka style, thus the rock. Now, Hopoe instead, who was a dancer, got turned into a dancing rock. Well, Lorelei roughly translates to 'murmuring rock'. And Lorelei was originally gonna be a singer. There you have it.

Oh yeah, and Lorelei lead Luna to her death, just like a Siren.

And Lorelei is the name of a boss you beat the hell out of in Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey.

Okay, so to the notes. If the ending seemed a bit... wonky, well, I don't blame you. Well you might be thinking "Well what happened to Lorelei?". Well, I leave that up to interpretation. My first legitimate cliffhanger, I 1.guess.

Well here's all the theories I've pondered. Part of why I can do this is because the way I wrote most of this was through dreams, random events in life, epiphanies, all of this. But yeah.

1. Lorelei never existed. This is the one I was originally going for, but realized that I can just play around; why not. But lets just say that Lorelei never was born, and that Luna is indeed dead and Mr. Thantos is legit. Well, the way I'm putting it is that Luna's slipping deeper and deeper into insanity, up until she dies. Lorelei was just a dream. Well if that's true, then how did Celestia see 'Lorelei?' Well, she could have seen Luna go into the house, but she didn't know Luna was out there.

2. Lorelei did exist, but she's still alive. And she is fully immortal, and was still alive when Luna killed herself. Ha! That's fate for you.

3. Luna is still alive and Celestia fooled her and trapped her in a box with that dude or whatever. Yeah, just like Engo!

4. Lorelei did die, Luna did too, Thantos is a troll.

So err, I'm bored. Time to go finish up another chapter. This was thrown together like... insert witty simile. Hope you learned something. I know I didn't. Go read some Greek/Hawai'ian myths.
