Maybe you should ask Twilight. She might know a thing or two about your question." ~~~ Twilight was teaching her friends to use their new alicorn powers. Today was flying. Twilight was negotiating with AJ on whether or not she had to learn to fly. Twilight was losing terribly. "Why do I need to fly when I can already levitate myself. Rarity was doing rather great. She teleported everyone to the ground. "Aw man," shouted three voices. Just then, Scootaloo walked in. "Hey, guys, I have a question," she said. "What's up lil' Scoots?" said Rainbow. "I was wondering why I can't fly," said Scootaloo. Everyone thought for a moment. They couldn't think of an answer. Twilight thought that maybe they should get some professional help. She, Rainbow, and Scootaloo went to a doctor who specializes with Pegisi. "Hello," he said, as he twisted Scootaloos wing this way and that. "How are you guys doing?" A whole conversation happened in the doctor's office. He measured Scootaloo's weigh, tested her wing power, recorded her fpm (flaps per minute), took X-rays of her wing, measured her height, weight, and width, measured her wings, measured her ear, and watch her hover for a few seconds. After an hour, he came to a conclusion. "Her wings are twisted back too far," he said with certainty. "Can it be fixed, doc?" asked Rainbow. "Yes, with time and wing braces, in will be fixed. Can you come back in a week?" "Yes we can." Rainbow Dash set up the next appointment. Then they left the office. "So Scoots, where do you live?" asked Rainbow. "I... well..." Scootaloo had never told Rainbow her secret. "Scoots, where do you live?" Rainbow was getting a little impatient. "I can go home myself." "I want to see where you live." "Please, it's not that big of a problem." "I'm going to need to pick you up," said Rainbow, slowly losing the rest of her patients. Scootaloo sighed. She had to tell her someday, so today she would. "Follow me." Scootaloo and Rainbow walked into town, to a huge building, the orphanage. Rainbow was in shock from the news. She had not known that Scootaloo was an orphan. "I was a little foal when it happened. They had gone to Manehatten, and a taxi..." Scootaloo's voice cracked up on the last word. She didn't continue, not that she needed to, Rainbow could guess what had happened. "I was sent here, wishing I could get a family. It never happened." Rainbow dropped Scootaloo off at the orphanage. She went to her cloud house. She walked into an empty room in her house. It had been empty since she moved in. One thought swirled in her brain. This thought had come to her as she was flying home. Do I want Scootaloo to be my child? Well, duh, she wanted it. If she was an orphan, then couldn't she adopt her. Then something in her peripheral distracted her. It was her horn. Her horn reminded her that she was a princess now. A new thought that would haunt her until she answered the question came to her. Can I handle kids? ~~~ Rainbow Dash tried to sleep, but couldn't. She had too much on her mind. She decided to go for a fly. This might clear her mind. She got up, performed a little light spell, and started flying away from her house. The fresh air was calming, especially in the fall, which it was on this glorious evening. The stars were like little pinpricks in the sky. Rainbow headed in the direction off the moon, so she would find her way back easier. Even though she was flying, she was too distracted to enjoy it at all. She decided to fly to Ponyville and see what was happening there. The world there was peacefully still. No noise seemed to want to touch the darkness. She took a smell of the crisp, autumn air. Suddenly, a noise startled Rainbow. Her wing flared, ready to takeoff if she had to. "Who's there?" She had forgotten everything that was troubling her, but not in the way she wanted. The noise came closer. "Rainbow? Is that you?" said a familiar southern voice. "AJ?" Rainbow used her horn to light up were the voice was coming from. Sure enough, Applejack was standing there. "What are you doing here?" "Walking? You?" "Flying. Why are you going for a walk?" "Oh, I have insomnia, so I decide to go walk before going to sleep. You?" "I was thinking about something, and it was keeping me up." "Well, let's be on our way." "Bye AJ." Rainbow took off again. Her mind swam, no, drowned, in the thoughts that still were in her mind. This was a decision that would change her life forever. She headed to the orphanage. It was night, but she looked into the windows. She saw children of all ages, including the one that was all that was occupying her mind. She sighed, went back home, and lay down on her bed. She decided she would try to go to sleep now and think about Scootaloo tomorrow. ~~~ Rainbow woke up that morning. Her mind still thought about Scootaloo. She sighed wondering who could help her. Then it hit her. Cadence and Shining Armor. They would know a thing or two about what she should do. Rainbow levitated a piece of paper and wrote the following... I'm going to the Crystal Empire. I'll be back in three days. She pinned this to her door and started packing. When she was done, she bought a train ticket and waited for the train to come. Soon, she would have answers. "It said that she was leaving to the Crystal Empire and would be back in three days," said Pinkie, her hair slightly drooping. "Now why would she leave just like that?" asked AJ. "You don't think she was called to some important meeting," asked Rarity. Fluttershy thought for a moment. If they were going to get their friend back, she was going to read her mind to find her. She concentrated and came with a signal. "Guys, I think I got into her mind." Fluttershy looked around. She saw the inside of a train. It had left an hour ago. "She is on the train now." The next train would come in an hour, so everyone packed as quickly as they could to catch it. Everyone was asking Fluttershy to tell them more or to try and get into her mind again, but Fluttershy was wasted from her first attempt, and explained that her brain was full of thoughts she was trying to get rid of. She said that is was normal for her brain to be full of nonexciting thoughts after a strong mind read like that, but this was way over the top. She described it like everything had been wiped away from her brain, but there was no thoughts taking up the space. Everypony got to the train and left to see if they could find Rainbow. They got off and decided to go to the castle, to see in Cadence or Shining Armor had seen her. They were allowed entry and search everywhere to find somepony. Then they opened the door to a room. Inside, they could here Cadence talking to someone. "I will no make the decision for you, but you will find that if you do it, it will be easier that you expect." "I will put more thought into it," said a familiar voice. Everypony gasped. They ran into the room and hugged Rainbow without thinking. "Hey guys. You know, the note said that I would be back in three days," she said. "We know, but you left so suddenly that we got scared," said Twilight. "Why did you leave?" asked Pinkie. As she said this Cadence started leaving. "You guys know Scootaloo?" "Yeah," said everypony. Pinkie suddenly gasped. "Did you go take her home after her appointment, find out she's an orphan, wanted to adopt her but didn't know if you could since your a princess of Equestria now, so you took a train to the Crystal Empire to see Cadence because she has a family, but she told you she wouldn't make the decision, but she told you that it is easier than you think." Pinkie smiled. "How did you know?" "Just a hunch." "Well, I'm going to think about my decision." They stay for two more days before leaving. When they get home they started to help Rainbow by analyzing her schedule. Meanwhile, at the orphanage, an important ritual was being performed.

The colt grabbed a spinner included in the kit. He flicked it. It spun, and stopped at Scootaloo. "Okay, now we roll the die to see how many others will be in your family." The die landed on three. Three other people in her family. "Now we use the cards to see who they might be." Scootaloo grabbed three cards and flipped them over. Two female Pegasi and one male Pegasus. "Know you roll the die to see how old they are. 1 is baby, 2 is filly or colt, 3 is teenage, 4 is middle age, and 5-6 is elderly." Scootaloo rolled the dice on the first female card and got a 4. The other female was a 1. The male was a 4. "Whoa, that is a good family," said the filly. "Oh," sighed Scootaloo. "What is it?" "I was hoping that I'd get adopted by this one person. But she is just one pony, this shows three." "It's just a game Scoots." "Yeah," said the colt. "Well, I may be flying in a few moons," said Scootaloo. "That is great," said the colt. ~~~ It was the big day. Scootaloo was getting her braces. They entered the doctor's office. "Do you want me to come too?" asked Rainbow. "No I'm fine," said Scootaloo. After some time, Scootaloo came back. Her wings were covered in a little metal. She wore a solemn expression. Rainbow Dash toke her back to the orphanage. "So, we have no clients," sighed Sweetie Belle. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Sweetie Belle opened the door. "Hey Scoots, you busy," said a voice that I think the audience can guess who it belongs to. Scootaloo smiled, and the rest of the CMCs groaned. "Sure!" "Uh Scootaloo, come over here," said Applebloom. Scootaloo came over to the other end of the room. "We know what is going to happen," said Sweetie Belle. "It may seem fun to hang out with a sibling," said Apple Bloom. "But it all starts backfiring as soon as it starts." "They forget that you are older than they think." "Then they under estimate your interests." "Or you ability to take care of yourself." "There is no way Rainbow Dash would do that to me," said Scootaloo. She walked out the door to join Rainbow Dash. "So what do you want to do?" asked Rainbow Dash. "I just I would like to take a cloud ride." Rainbow picked up Scootaloo. She placed her of the cloud. She had thought over her decision for some time now. All she needed to do was ask Scootaloo. "Hey Scoots, would you like to come to my house?" "Sure." Rainbow Dash took Scootaloo to her house. She took her to a room that was once empty. Now it was full of stuff for a tomboy Pegasus. "Scootaloo, is it okay if I adopt you?" Scootaloo started to scream and run around the room. She said over and over "Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Epilogue It had been several moons. Scootaloo could now fly and had a loving home. Everything was awesome, but her life was going to go through a few more changes in the next few years. For example, today there was a knock at the door. Rainbow opened it, to reveal...
