Slowly, you begin to stir. There’s a calming silence in your bedroom; the only sounds are from you and Stellar Flare’s breathing. You smile as you open your eyes. Stellar is nestled against you and her muzzle is buried close to your chest, almost like she’s cold. She moves a little closer to you, allowing her velvety orange fur to brush against your arms.

Securing your grip around her, you make sure not to disturb her, while resting your cheek along her silky mane. You still feel that drowsy feeling as you let your eyes drift shut. The veil of sleep seems to have you in its grip, but then, you notice a gentle prodding along your shoulder.

“Huh?” You murmur still half asleep.

“Relax. It’s only me.”

You open your eyes and see Stellar there, staring affectionately at you. She’s running her hoof along your arm and shoulder. Turning your head, you glance around the room, then look at her. “That’s right. We came back to my place for a little nap.” You reach out and play with a lock of her mane.

“Mm-hmm. We did.”

“Were we out long?” You try to locate your alarm clock, but still are a bit disoriented.

Stellar chuckles. “It’s only a little after five. We only napped for about two hours.”

“Oh, good. I wasn’t sure how long it had been.” You smile and move your hand to rub her cheek. “It was very relaxing with you resting at my side.”

“Mmm, I should hope so.” She rubs her hind leg along your leg. “I know I was relaxed, especially after that wonderful time we shared in the bushes.”

“Yeah. It was amazing.” You just lay there and stare into her eyes, while continuing to play mindlessly with a lock of her reddish hair. “I could just lay here, right like this.”

Stellar runs her hoof along your side and stares back just as affectionately. “So could I.”

It’s then that you notice Stellar’s breath pool gently along your face. She’s so close, and you can’t help but enjoy it. Placing your hand on her shoulder, you lean in to kiss her. She lets out a short muffled gasp, then moves her hoof to your shoulder and pushes her lips against yours.

You breathe through your nose and Stellar does the same as you both savor the kiss for just a few more moments. Then, slowly you both pull back. She’s giving you the same giddy expression that you have on your face.

You sigh contently and just gaze at Stellar. “Well, I guess we should think about what we’d like to do this evening.”

“Yeah.” Stellar looks back at the clock. “Hmm, I know. Why don’t we go out for dinner? I’m sure you know plenty of good places around here.” She smiles at you and caresses your cheek.

Your face lights up. “Yeah, I’d like that. Hmm, good place? Let me think.” You place a hand to your chin. “Oh, I know of a few places. There’s the café we had tea at. Um, Ponyville Family Restaurant, Vinny’s, and if you'd like a quick bite, Hay Burger. Any of those sounds good to you?” Reaching out you resume stroking her mane.

Stellar takes a moment to ponder and sighs from your caring touch. Then, she looks back at you. “Hmm, Vinny’s, would that be a place you can get Britalian food?”

“Oh yes, a real taste of Bridaly. They have plenty of authentic dishes there, including a variety of pastas, like Spaghetti, Fettuccine Alfredo, and a few different Parmesan dishes. Oh and of course simpler things like subs and pizza.” You smile at her.

Stellar’s face lights up. “Oh, pizza. I haven’t had that in some time. How is theirs?”

You hold up a hand. “It’s simply amazing. If you like pizza, I’m sure you’d enjoy it.”

“All right then. You’ve convinced me. Why don’t we go there for dinner?” Stellar gives you a short smooch.

You move apart from her and sit up. “Sounds good to me. All I need to do is put on my shoes. Oh, how’s my hair?”

She slides over to you and runs her hoof along it. “Still looks good as far as I’m concerned. And mine?” She fluffs her coiffure.

“Equally lovely. Huh, I’m surprised. It hasn’t really gotten all that mused.” You run you hand along it.

“Yes well, I take pride in the care I give my mane. Now, then, shall we?” Stellar looks at you still all smiles.

You put on your shoes and rise to your feet. She joins you and offers you her hoof. You return her smile as you clasp it gently in your hand. “Come, my lady. Dinner awaits.”

Stellar giggles as the two of you leave your room and then exit your house, heading back out into Ponyville.

The sun is slowly setting as you and Stellar Flare make your way to Vinny’s. She is walking very close to you, allowing you to place a hand on her back. Glancing around, you know exactly where you are. “We’re almost there.”

“Good. I’m so glad you know your way around. Because there isn’t much that looks too familiar to me.” Stellar pans her head around as she takes in the sights of Ponyville’s busy streets. “Yeah, I still feel out of place.”

Your rub your hand along her side. “That’s okay. I can help you with that.”

“Wait, I know that road. Doesn’t that lead to the castle?” She looks at you full of wonder.

“Yes, at least you know one area.” You smile.

“Thanks to you showing me around. And I’ll be glad once we get there. I’m really hungry.” She chuckles placing a hoof over her mouth.

You look her way still all smiles. “Same here. Ah, it’s just up ahead. One more street to go.”

A chilly evening breeze begins to blow, making Stellar walk closer to you. So close in fact, she’s partially leaning against you. “Brrr, sorry about that, but the air is really getting chilly.”

You chuckle softly and place your arm around her. Running your hand along her velvety barrel, you just sigh. “That’s all right, Stellar. There is a raw nip in the air. Just stay close. I’ll keep you warm.”

“Mmm, thank you.” Stellar sighs happily.

“Of course. Ah, we’re here.”

Stellar looks up and joins you at looking at Vinny’s sizable restaurant. “No sign of anypony outside, is that good?”

“It’s very good. We’re still a bit early, but there should be a few customers inside…easily.” You pat her side as you walk toward the door together.

* * * * * *

You enjoy another stringy cheesy bite of the pizza. It’s crisp and flaky crust has the perfect buttery flavor and a mild but savory tomato sauce with just a hint of garlic. “Mmm.” You set the still very warm slice of pizza down.

Stellar giggles as she takes another bite from her first slice. “Oh this is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in…well, it feels like ages.”

“Where was the best?” You ask, before taking a sip of your soda.

Stellar sips from her soda, then she replies, “Let me think? Ah, yes. The best was in Manehatten, a restaurant called Gallopbaldi’s.” She sits there for a moment and just stares at you adoringly. “I think you’d like it. Their food really offers a great taste of Bridaly. Much like this place.”

You smile over at Stellar and give her an equally affectionate gaze. “It sounds like it. You know, I’ve never been to Manehatten.”

“Well, I’m there fairly often.” Stellar nods, then gives you another fond glance. “Back home, I’m in charge of the Sire’s Hallow Development Committee. Which requires frequent trips to Manehatten to coordinate with the Equestria Development Office.”

“And let me guess.” You grin. “Gallopbaldi’s isn’t far from the office.”

“That’s right.” She giggles. “So I stop by every chance I get. They have a very varied menu with so many delightful dishes to chose from.”

“Stop it, Stellar. You’re making me even hungrier and this awesome pizza is right here in front of us.” You snicker as you reach over and pat her hoof, which like her gaze is resting lazily in your direction.

She just closes her eyes briefly and chuckles. “Then, you’ll have to make a plan to go to Manehatten.”

You nod as you begin to rub your fingers along the soft off-white fur of her hoof. “Definitely…ooh, which reminds me. I know your visit with Sunburst didn’t go as planned, but I was wondering. How long are you planning to stay in Ponyville?”

Stellar looks down at your hand and then back at you. “Originally, I was planning on staying a day or two. I figured Sunburst would have helped me find someplace to stay. But, since that fell through. I don’t know.” She tilts her head. “Though, if you’re having as good a time as I’ve been since we met up at the bridge…I could probably stay a while longer…say the rest of the week?”

Your face brightens as you continue petting her lovely hoof. “This has been a really great day, despite the way it began. So, yeah, I’d certainly enjoy it if you stayed.”

“Splendid…oh.” Her ears droop and her face falls a little. “But, I have no place to stay.”

You clasp your hand around her hoof and give her a cheerful look. “Yes you do. You can stay with me. I can always sleep on the couch…or if you’d like…”

Stellar grins and places her other hoof on top of your hand. “We could share your bed?”

You chuckle and smile. “Exactly. You’ve seen firsthoof that it’s roomy and comfy.”

“I have. So, I do have a place to stay.” She rubs her hoof along your hand in the same attentive way as you.

“You bet. Now, why don’t we enjoy more of this tasty pizza?” You gaze at her half-lidded.

Stellar gives you her bedroom eyes. “I’d love to.”

She releases your hand and you release her hoof, allowing you both to reclaim your still rather warm slices. Holding up your slice, Stellar does the same with hers. “Dig in.” You grin and take a nice bite.

Stellar chuckles, then she too takes a sizable chomp out of her slice as the two of you resume devouring your pizza. Before long, the two of you move on to a second and even a third slice.

Two lone slices remain on the serving pan as you and Stellar each sit back. “Mmm, that was good.” You snicker.

“Yeah…I’m nice and full…but thankfully, not stuffed.” She rubs her belly, then takes a sip from her glass.

“Same here.” You place your hand over your mouth and muffle a belch. “Excuse me. Ah, the sign of a good meal.”

Stellar just giggles, while she looks your way. “Just like you said to me at our picnic earlier today.” She speaks your name dreamily. “You’re a breath of fresh air.”

You reach back over to her side of the table and meet her hoof, which Stellar already placed back on the table. The fond look remains in her eyes. “I’m glad you’re staying in town. Uh, are you about ready to head out?”

She nods. “Mm-hmm, I am.”

You just grin as you reach for the check and fish out some bits. The waitress returns. “How are you two doing.” She eyes up your table. “I see the pizza was a hit.”

“Yep.” You grin. “Vinny and his cooks sure know their pizza.”

The waitress giggles. “They certainly do. Did you want me to run that up to the register for you?”

“Please.” You hand her the check and bits. “Oh, and could we have a box for the leftovers, please?”

“Why of course. Let me just take care of this for you.” She smiles as she takes the bill and the money from you.

“Oh.” You tap her shoulder. “I don’t need any change.” You smile at her.

She nods and winks at you. “Got it. And thank you. I’ll be right back.” The waitress trots airily away, and even sounded like she was humming on her way to the checkout counter.

“That should make her day.” You smile, watching the waitress continue trotting along. Then, you turn back to Stellar.

“I trust you gave her a nice gratuity.” Stellar smiles.

“Just like I always do.” You chuckle. “It’s like I learned. You take care of your waitress or bartender and they will take care of you.”

The unicorn’s smile grows as she partially closes her eyes. “I was right. You do have a plan.”

“Most of the time.” You laugh as you pat her hoof again.

* * * * * * *

After the waitress boxes up your leftovers, you and Stellar leave Vinny’s and return to the chilly evening air of Ponyville.

“Brrr. It’s still rather cool this evening. Did you want to head back to my place and get the jacket you packed?”

Stellar shakes her head and walks closer to you. “That’s all right. I’ll just stay close to you.”

You place your arm around her and pull her close. “Now that’s a plan we can both enjoy.”

Stellar just giggles as the two of you walk around in no particular direction. “So, what would you like to do now?”

“I’m not sure. The evening is just ending and the night is just beginning. Hmm. We could go dancing somewhere, or stop for a drink…or, wait. I know it’s chilly, but are you a fan of milkshakes?”

Stellar looks your way and grins. “Are you kidding? I love them. Ooh, are you a fan of whipped cream?”

“On my milkshake with a cherry on top?” You turn her way and share her joyful gaze.

She nods. “Of course…is there any other way to enjoy a milkshake?”

“Not as far as I’m concerned. How are you on flavors?” You tilt your head her way.

“Like I was earlier today…flexible.” She chuckles as she leans against you a little more.

“Same here. So let’s head to Sugar Cube Corner.”

“Mom?” You suddenly hear the familiar voice of Sunburst call out. “There you are!”

You and Stellar both stop and turn around to see Sunburst and oddly enough, Starlight Glimmer standing there. The two unicorns trot over to you.

“Oh, Sunburst, what are you doing here?” She gives him a puzzled look.

He points her way. “Looking for you.” Sunburst pushes up his glasses and sighs. “I wanted to apologize. After we decided to call it a day, Princess Twilight spoke with me…well; she actually lectured me about how poorly I acted. Heh, heh…and she was right.”

She places a hoof over her heart and smiles. “I appreciate that, Sunburst.”

“Yeah, I hope I didn’t ruin your day too badly.” He chuckles nervously.

“Don’t worry, I’ve managed to have a really good day.” Stellar holds up a hoof and points to you. “He’s kept me company and showed me around town. We even got to enjoy the warm weather earlier today.”

“Uh, that’s great, mom. Say, did you want to hang out…maybe give me a chance to make it up to you?”

“Oh.” Stellar pauses, then looks at you. “I kind of have plans.”

“Okay, we know why you’re here Sunburst, but Starlight…why are you here?” You turn to Starlight.

She grins nervously and kicks a hoof along the ground. “Yeah, about that. Well, I felt really bad about brushing you off. So, I came to apologize, again and see if you wanted to do anything right now. Like Sunburst said, Twilight had us call it a day.” Starlight gives you a hopeful smile.

“Oh, I see.” You grin a little nervously. “Well, I’d like to.” You look at Stellar. “But I kind of have plans.”

Her face falls and her ears droop. “Oh, I see.”

“Now wait a second, you two.” Stellar turns your way. “What do you think? Should we ask them to join us?”

You look her in the eye and smile. “Sure, I don’t have a problem with it.”

Starlight perks up and blinks at you curiously. “Join you two where?”

“Sugar Cube Corner.” You smile.

“We’re going for milkshakes!” Stellar says in a singsong voice.

“Ooh, you know I love a good frosty milkshake.” Starlight’s face lights up.

“Then, join us.” You give her a joyful smile, before turning to Sunburst. “How about you?”

“Yeah, why don’t you join us too, son?”

“Hmm, milkshakes. Sure, I haven’t had any ice cream for a while.” He chuckles as the four of you begin walking toward Sugar Cube Corner.

You’re walking along with Stellar and still have your arm around her, completely forgetting the fact that Sunburst and Starlight are with you. It suddenly dawns on you as you look over at Stellar. She realizes it too, and blushes a little.

“Say.” Sunburst adjusts his glasses again. “Why are you two walking so close together? And have you both been out all evening?”

You chuckle and figure there’s no point in lying. “Yes, we have. Right, Stellar?”

She nods, as she looks Sunburst’s way. “That’s right, dear. We just had dinner and now we’re going to have dessert with the two of you.”

Starlight walks a little closer to Sunburst, after she gave you and Stellar a thorough look. “I don’t know. It looks like these two are on a date…if you ask me.” She giggles as she trots on ahead of you.

Sunburst continues along and smiles for a moment. “That’s nice…wait, a date?” He turns to look at you and his mother. “Mom?”

“Starlight is right, dear. He and I are out on date.” She giggles as the two of you walk past Sunburst.

You turn as you both pass. “That’s right. And it’s been a wonderful evening.”

“That’s nice…WHAT?!” Sunburst gallops after you two and Starlight. “Wait up! Mom, what do you mean you two are on a date? When did this happen?”

The two of you just chuckle as you follow Starlight to the sweet shop, happily ignoring Sunburst as he continues to ask a slew of questions.

“Mom? Are you listening to me? I asked you something…mom?”

Starlight just giggles as you and Stellar join her in heading inside Sugar Cube Corner followed by a baffled Sunburst.

Author's Note

I hope you all enjoyed Stellar's story. This was just an idea that came to me after watching "The Parent Map" at least a dozen times. Like I had mentioned in my notes on the summary page, there just don't seem to be a lot of stories about her, least of all human x Stellar Flare.

I have some other ideas outlined for Stellar that can continue this storyline in a sequel quite easily. But, the question is how soon. If you want more of Stellar, be sure to leave a comment or feel free to send a PM. Thank you all for reading!
