They didn't know how it happened. They didn't know why it happened. Now Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle must find a way out of the mess they are left in. Deep within the deserts of Equestria, they must find water, food, and an escape from all of those that lurk in the dark under layers of the desert. Before it is too late.

Every chapter is a day of their survival. 20 Days, and 20 nights.
Chapter updates will be slow, and time will not be on my side, so this is more of a background adventure story.
Character list: Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Corporal Greystone, and Warrant Officer Saundra.

20 Chapters will be a long shot for me, along with the memory chapter and the epilogue. I also have some alternate endings planned. This story is not a happy one, you have been warned.

Chapter 1: A Normal Day

A normal day? A normal, fucking day? Who are you, Buddha? How is that even similar? It doesn't matter. Life doesn't seem to matter, either. Wait, what am I saying? Damn, another question. See, a normal day for Twilight Sparkle would be stacking the book shelves, or writing a letter. Hell, sometimes it was simply practicing magic.

There is that one window...that one dusty, hard to see through pane glass window, that holds secrets. What was behind it? Twilight would say she is on the brink of a new knowledge. That always held the question...what is the knowledge she speaks of?

The knowledge of who she loved. No, the knowledge of who she lusted for. No, no, it would be the knowledge of what gender she had a pull towards, and a push towards. Love and lust...two different, but yet oh-so close mysteries. So, what does this have to do with surviving? A lot. More than a lot, a ton! Even, wait, that doesn't matter.

In the end, it was love that caused all of this. Love that had held two bonds together, broke them apart, and split them even further.

Love killed Twilight Sparkle. Love killed Rainbow Dash. Love killed Corporal Greystone. Love killed Officer Saundra.

Hate is what helped them carry on. No, hate fed them knowledge! It taught them survival.

The desert took away that survival. It took away everything that was them. A vast land, shining brightly, almost like a burning plain. The deserts were hot, they were dry, and they were death. No, not deadly, there is a difference. Deadly means it can kill, while death means it will kill. No pony has ever survived these desserts. None whatsoever.
