EQUESTRIA
Twilight and Spike made their way back to their crystal castle and went inside. Putting the boxes away, the two entered the main library where Starlight was seen with her head in a large cardboard box.
“Hey, Starlight,” Spike called.
Hearing her name, Starlight poked her head up out of the box. “Oh. Hi, Spike, Twilight.”
“Hello," Twilight returned before eyeing the box. “Is that the new shipment of fire works I ordered and please tell me they didn’t get it wrong?”
“Nope everything’s all here! And there’s all different kinds of fireworks they sent us!"
“Really, what kind?” Spike asked with curiosity as he walked over to see what else could be in the box.
“Hey!” Twilight called getting both of their attention. “Don’t touch any of them. The trigger lines beneath them are very sensitive so the slightest touch could set them off, so be sure to be extra careful with them, okay, you two?”
“Yeah.” They both said nodding their heads.
With the box of fireworks moved in line with the other boxes, Twilight and Starlight went out to pick up the other set of supplies in boxes from the hallway, while Spike sat down with a manual to read through. Flipping past the cover and the introductory page, Spike looked at the table of contents slowly following every guideline on each chapter. However, as he read through them all, he paused when realization struck him, he looked up from his book.
“Hey, Twilight?” Spike called.
"Yes?" Twilight returned, carrying a bigger box with her magic.
"How many sets of fireworks did you order?"
“Five of course,” she immediately answered.
Looking back at the box, Spike pointed with his claw for Twilight to see. “Then why did they only bring back one?”
Twilight quirked an eyebrow. “That can't be right. I’m pretty sure I distinctly remember ordering five sets of boxes. Ugh, I knew they would mess up my order this happens every time!”
Twilight carefully placed the box on top of the other then walked over to the little drake.
“Spike grab a parchment and write down a message to the ponies of the company.” She told him while using her magic to rearrange the books in their proper place.
“I uh… can’t. Because we’re out of list parchment.”
Twilight paused and slowly blinked. “... what?”
“Yeah. You used the last of it yesterday, remember?” Spike reminded her.
When Twilight heard this news she face-hoofed her forehead before letting out a disappointing sigh. “Right… Starlight?”
Starlight poked her head up out of a book she was reading. “Yes Twilight?”
“Could you go out and get me some more parchments? And before you do bring in the last box of flowers, it’s outside of the castle.”
“Sure, I’ll be back.”
Up Starlight got, she exited out of the library making her way down the stairs, to the carpeted hallway, towards the main entrance. Once outside she glanced down and there she found a box filled with dandelion flowers. Her horn lit up but before she could grab it her ears went up when she heard the birds singing an oh sweet melody. Starlight glanced up at the skies to see a flock of birds flying forward in a group, whilst singing beautifully in harmony. staring out, Starlight couldn't help but smile at how beautiful it was today in Ponyville, ponies were happily going about their daily lives, the sky was clear and blue, and the sun was shining.
Giggling to herself Starlight turned away from the sight carrying the box with her magic, but turned back almost immediately, she had seen something out of the corner of her eye. Gently setting down the box at the entrance, she looked down. There was a small green box wrapped in white ribbon with a bow on top on the dirt road, curious Starlight stepped down and trotted towards it. As she got close to it her ears twitched as they started picking up something. It was faint but close and whatever she’s hearing, the source was inside of the box.
She leaned her head in venturing her right ear to the front of the box in order to hear it clearer. Tick, she thought to herself, tick… tick… ticking?
“Something’s ticking, is there a clock in here. . ?” Asked Starlight under breath, as she listened closely. Suddenly the ticking stopped and without giving Starlight time to react the box exploded and her world faded in white.
Bakugou and Todoroki enter a long passage. At the end were stairs climbing up to two more from side to side. The two darted their eyes from left to right as they found four paths leading to long carpeted hallways. Glancing up Todoroki noticed two long rectangular flags hanging from the ceiling, each having their color. The one on the right was a blue flag with an image of a light blue horse, with sparkles going around the waning crescent moon. Although after looking deeper he realized it wasn’t a horse, rather it was… an Alicorn?
Yes it is an Alicorn. He looked to the flag on the left and sure enough it was the same as the other except this one was yellow with the image of an Alicorn that was as white as snow with the sun radiating from above. He continued to gaze until he pulled his eyes off of them, looking forward, catching up to Bakugou as they wandered through the ruins.
“Kachan! Todoroki!” Izuku called aloud.
Hearing both their names, Bakugou and Todoroki turned their heads to see Izuku Midoriya running up to them. Once he was in front of the two he cleared his throat and revealed to them. “I don’t know how this was possible but whatever that villain’s quirk did it must’ve sent the three of us to a whole other world; I know because just now I was talking to a pegasus that can speak our language!”
Bakugou tilted his head in bewilderment.
“Hold up, a whole other world? Talking Pegasus? The hell are you talking about Deku?”
Todoroki nodded.
“I agree, you’re not making any sense Midoriya. Horses don’t speak like us… except in children cartoons” Todoroki said, causing Bakugou to shake his head at him.
Izuku placed his right hand near his heart pressing on to them.
“I swear to you guys I’m not making this up,” Izuku said pointing from the main entrance, his eyes still fixed on Bakugou and Todoroki, “I was literally talking to Derpy not too long ago and—”
Bakugou raised his hand, stopping Izuku from his sentence. “Wait a god-damn minute… did you say her name is Derpy?”
“Um, yes that’s her name. But that’s not the point! She even told me what country we’re in, called Equestria.”
There was a short delay on Katsuki Bakugou’s brain as it functioned to process Izuku’s words into his head. Though when it did he collapsed to the ground, his stomach bent as his arms wrapped tightly around it, and started laughing hysterically.
“D-DERPY? EQUESTRIA? JUST HOW MANY KITTY SHOWS HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING DEKU?!” Bakugou howled with laughter, as he pounded the ground with his fist. Unable to contain his mirth at the conclusion of Izuku's explanation of the morning's events. "WHAT’S NEXT ARE YOU GONNA TELL US, THAT YOU AND YOUR NEW FRIEND DERPY ARE GONNA RUN DOWN THE RAINBOW?!!," the boy roared, struggling to rise from where he had fallen, paralyzed with laughter.
Izuku frowned at this sight.
“Kachan…”
Lowering his head, Izuku let out a disappointing sigh while ignoring his childhood friends' continuous laughter. Maybe, he thought to himself, if they were there they would’ve believed. Just as Izuku thought of this he heard the faint sounds of someone screaming. Whoever it belonged to came about a mile from their current location, getting him and his friends attention as they stared outside of the main door.
Twilight Sparkle’s ears went up when her and Spike felt the whole castle quake from what sounded like an explosion. Twilight and Spike immediately ran towards the balcony glancing down to the direction of the explosion before being blinded by a mushroom shaped grey smoke.
“Starlight? Starlight?!” Spike called sharply, as his head scanned the surrounding area for any sign of his missing friend. Twilight’s wings spread wide before turning her head looking down at her assistant.
“Get on Spike!” Twilight commanded. Without hesitating the little drake hopped on her back. Twilight’s eyes narrowed as her wings flapped, lifting her off from the floor balcony then shooting towards the sky, the wind whipping past them both.
Once airborne, her ears perked up when she heard another explosion going off from a small apartment, then another went off, and another. Screams of mares and fillies filled the air, as they ran for their lives down the road. Seeing this sight she felt her stomach tie into knots at the idea that some-pony would plan this without her or anyone knowing.
“Twilight look, over there!” Twilight turned her head to the direction of his claw pointed and blinked when she saw a tall black hooded bipedal figure sprinting down the road, her eyes widened when she recognized the unconscious lavender unicorn wrapped around the figure’s arm.
Starlight! She thought, realizing who it was.
“Hold on tight Spike!” She told the little drake before pulling back, diving down in a burst of speed aiming straight for the figure’s wide open back. Her hooves within contact made a direct impact causing the hooded figure to fall face down, releasing their grip from Starlight’s waist as she fell to the ground.
Giving them a good flap she landed carefully on the dirt road then turned her head at the little drake on her back and ordered. “Go see if Starlight’s okay I’ll keep an eye on this kidnapper.”
“Yes ma’am!” Spike saluted hopping off her back, running towards the unconscious unicorn.
Whipping her head back she glared at the figure still face down on the ground taking three steps towards it.
“State your business here!” She demanded, stomping her hoof on the ground, “Why were you after my friend?”
“Ahh your royal highness, Twilight Sparkle, so nice to see you.” Spoke a deep male voice.
Up ahead she looked straight when she heard her name. Staring at her was a dark brownish Minotaur bigger than even Iron will himself, beside his right horn his left was cracked and long gone, highlighted by the many fights he had with other minotaurs. His eyes were a lot like Iron will’s but the way they gazed down at her unsettled her greatly. He wore a smooth black suit, a red tie wrapped properly around his neck, a navy blue shirt, and a cigar clenched in his teeth that billowed out smoke from the tip.
“I take it you’re the boss of your friend over here?” Twilight asked looking down at the hooded figure still unmoving from where it laid. The Minotaur boss chuckled.
“You could say that, though I wouldn't say we’re friends he just works for me is all.” He answered, crossing his arms.
Twilight circling around the unmoving figure she glared in anger at the minotaur before her, highlighted by the burning buildings, and her student almost taken.
“Who are you and why were you trying to take my friend?!” Twilight demanded, glaring at him intensely.
The Minotaur boss smirked at her.
“Sorry princess but that’s none of your business,” he said, taking his cigar from his mouth back in his hand with his left arm crossed, chuckling to himself.
“With ponies being salvaged like livestock it is my business!” Twilight stated, refusing to give in the fear that dread inside her by staying firm and stood her ground.
The Minotaur boss clicked his tongue somewhat annoyed by her persistence.
“Enough of this I don’t have time to waste on you… get rid of her.”
“Twilight look out!” Spike shouted.
Noticing the lack of sunlight Twilight whipped to her shoulder before she felt her windpipe clamped tightly by the hands of the Minotaur. Left hand grabbing onto its cloak it threw it to the side violently, revealing his true colors. This one was as big as his boss and wore long dark grey pants with the hem ending on his ankles, he wore a light blue unbuttoned jacket, and his face was covered by an ancient croc-like hockey mask. She tried with all her might to get air, as her head twitched and jerked. She struggled to breathe trying to pull herself away, ineffectively hitting his arm to release his grip. Lightning up her horn she blasted a beam of magic square to the minotaur’s chest, her sockets widened when the beam exploded in particles.
It didn’t have any effect? Twilight’s eyes darted back to his hand and found the source of his strength. The Minotaur’s good hand was shrouded in a blackish purple aura of magic, something she had never seen before. Could it be some type of new ancient dark magic? Her mind couldn’t answer as without warning the goon’s grip tightened and she could barely gasp for air. Twilight wondered if this is really her end? Is this… how she’ll die? But why? She thought, unnoticeably feeling her eyes welling up with tears, there’s still more that she wanted to do with her friends… her very best friends. Slowly she felt her eyes getting heavy, the minotaur became a blur, though blurry she could almost see it shift its weight, pulling left arm back and clenched its fist tightly.
Suddenly In the blink of an eye something went past her—at the same time, the minotaur’s grip was released then came a loud crash after. Twilight fell to the ground gasping, taking in a huge breath of air. She panted heavily as she tried to relax and calm her beating heart. Slowly she ventured her eyes open, then gasped as she found the giant thug lying unconscious with his back on the wall and big shards of concrete on top of him. But that wasn’t what caught the corner of her eye: a bright glowing spark appeared then reappeared in different angles, few were small while increasing largely. She made a slow turn to her right before her eyes widened as she stared up at a mysterious bipedal figure that stood beside her.
No way, she thought, nearly falling over in shock. Is that… a human?! No! Something’s different about this one, they’re not like the ones she’d seen at canterlot high. So who is he? And where did he come from? Her mind was reeling with questions; she’ll have to save them for later.
As she glanced up at the mysterious figure she studied their appearance from top to bottom. He was very short, his round face framed by a short mess of fluffy dark green hair which sticks up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. His eyes were large and somewhat circular, their irises the same green color as his hair, and are stretched quite wide. He had a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek.
His costume was sturdier—more combat-ready in appearance by Twilight’s description; he had what looked like iron soles to his red boots, his gloves and arm braces were tinted beige, and are decorated with blue stripes, and his knee pads had yellow bolts fastened into them. The knee pads extended to his legs reaching up to his thighs, he wore what looked to be a metal respirator, diamond-shaped, and had eight holes. She also noticed a mask hanging behind the nape of his suit.
Immediately Twilight watches as the young man’s eyes narrow to a determined expression, the leather squeaked as he bawled both his hands to a fist, before her and those around heard what sounded like a deep humming grinding engine; and at every second it got louder and louder. His face illuminated as crimson glowing veins appeared from all parts of his body dancing their way towards his head. When they disappeared his figure was swarmed by sparks of emerald lightning. Bursting with speed he charges towards the Minotaur boss but before the boss could come in with a charge of his own the young man vanished?! He was stunned, not just him but Twilight and Spike as well, he moved like a blur in their eyes. The Minotaur’s eyes darted from all sides when a large streak of green energy passed him, he turned from here and there trying to keep up but his speed increased so much so that it began to go around him in a circle.
Suddenly there was a pause as the boy re-appeared before him, as his head snapped below, right before he felt the wind knocked out of him when the human gutted him with his fist, sending him down on his knees. He winced in pain as his skin under the furr burned and his chest ached. He wrapped both his arms around his chest tightly in hopes to ease the pain away.
He groaned in pain, feeling a welt beginning to form on his chest, as he groggily glanced up at the human. His eyes widened as he saw the human jumped three feet off the ground, arched his back while pulling his leg up straightening it out bringing his foot straight home to his jaw. Up in the air the minotaur found himself facing the clear sky, he blinked out of shock, his mind in a dazed state unable to process the situation he was in or the burning pain from his jawline.
What was that, he thought, what kind of magic… no! That’s not magic—that can’t be magic! That power is out of this world, something he had never faced before. Madness, who is he… what is he?!
Within seconds a green strand of energy went past him bringing him out of his thoughts and back to reality. His pupils shrank immediately as he gazed up at his attacker above him, pulling his right leg back then shouted an odd name to his deadly attack.
“St. Louis Smash!”
In an instant he lashed his foot onto the Minotaur boss’s face. He could feel all the weight and power from his foot bore down upon his cheek as it created a shockwave of emerald energy on impact. Instantly he was sent falling down making a direct impact on the earth’s surface, creating a big bowl shaped crater. Twilight and Spike felt the very earth itself shaken by the impact as it bounced and echoed throughout the whole town.
Landing on his feet, he pulls eyes away from the boss and scans around him. He blinked as he found himself surrounded by a huge group of minotaurs glaring down at him for what he did to their boss. Turning away from them he saw through the ring a light brown furred minotaur stalking slowly from behind Spike and Starlight.
The young human instantly slammed into the minotaur farthest from Spike and Starlight. The minotaur spat out his saliva, before the figure stretched his leg out straight, and kicked him in the chest sending him flying until his body crashed through the main entrance of a small convenience store. Once it was sure he was down it turned away, and jumped to the next minotaur. Like it did to his buddy, the human bowled over the minotaur with a kick to the chest, then stood on its body. Pulling his right arm up while holding his wrist steady, the human stretched all five of its fingers then bent both triggers of his middle and side, pointing it at the chest of another minotaur not too far from him.
With a spring, a massive air bullet explodes from his fingers. Big torpedo shaped air cannons launched forward, pelting the chest of the minotaur to the ground, but the human still wasn't done. It whipped his arm around to blow away another minotaur with a second shot leaving Twilight, and Spike more stunned at what they were watching.
Deliberation or through reflex, one managed to throw a firebomb at the human before it set off a big explosion. For a moment, the minotaur goon thought it had worked, until it was struck by a barrage of air bullets to its face. The minotaur fell on its back knockout from the blows of the cannons. All the minotaurs starred in shock as the superhuman leapt out of the flames with no visible injury. Without looking back the human spoke to Twilight, and Spike nearby.
“You two, take your friend and get as far away from here as possible, and don’t come back until it’s safe!” None of them moved as there was a delay in their brains as it tried to process his words. The young man noticed this then said in a near shout.
“Please! It’s dangerous out here, go now!”
“Uh, yeah, right!” Spike yelped.
Spike blinked when he heard a groan beside him. Turning to his left shoulder he looked to find Starlight’s eyelids slightly twitching, slowly opening them halfway.
“Starlight!” He called, relieved that she had regained consciousness, “Come on wake up, we have to get out of here.”
Starlight glanced up at him shaking her head to ease away the throbbing pain. “S. . . Spike? Wha. . . What happened? What’s going on?”
“I’ll explain later right now we have to go.” Spike said, taking her hoof in his claw helping her back on her hooves. Spike and Starlight were about to take off until they noticed Twilight didn’t budge from her spot.
“Twilight come on!” Spike shouted, knocking Twilight out of her dazing state. Getting back on her hooves, Twilight shook her head then rolled her body around running forward to catch up to her friend. Turning to her shoulder, she looked back at the mysterious superhuman who stood before the remaining group of minotaurs, her mind reeling with wonder.
