Rarity loved formal dinners. Not just the opportunity to attend, of course. She loved everything surrounding them. Finding that special somepony to bring as your plus one, picking the right outfits, arriving in style… She made sure she was the mare to find when you wanted to really make an impact on the room.
So it was that she was tailoring something for her and Twilight’s new beau Tempest Shadow. She had a striking figure already that lent itself well to fashion. Tempest seemed almost suffocatingly apologetic at first but Rarity would hear none of it. Goodness knows Twilight had rehabilitated worse villains (and Rarity herself was dating a few) that Tempest really hardly registered as “once evil.”
“So… what kind of dress should I wear? I don’t think I’ve worn a dress in a decade at least.” Tempest hoofed idly at a loungewear piece Rarity was working on. Rarity shooed her away and instead used a hoof on her shoulder to gently guide her towards her workspace.
“No dresses for you, dear. Not right now at least. From the moment I saw you in your guard dressage I knew I needed to see you in a suit. With your figure? Twilight’s already susceptible to beautiful mares but I promise she’ll fall apart at the seams the moment she lays her eyes on you.”
“Is that my goal? I thought we were already dating. Should I try and woo her again? I’m not sure I can replicate whatever I did last time to make her fall for me.” Tempest looked genuinely confused. She could be a little stoic at times but here she was clearly out of her element and not afraid to show it.
“Darling, the best thing about romance is that you get to fall in love with your partner a thousand times over. Goodness knows Applejack still manages to sweep me off my hooves to this day.” Tempest went from looking out of sorts to thoroughly unconvinced. Her eyebrows dropped from the peak of her forehead down to rest just above her eyes in an impassive line. “All I’m saying is that if you want to make an impression this is the way to do it!”
“Rarity, I kind of already made an impression when I rode in on an airship and-”
“Tempest for the love of the sun and the moon in the sky PLEASE listen to me! If Princess Cadance can come trotting into the Gala with QUEEN CHRYSALIS at her side, I think you can show up in a suit! Now stand up straight, I need your measurements.” Rarity flicked her hair performatively as she gathered her notepad, quill, and a tape measure in her magic.
At that Tempest ceased her complaining and dutifully stretched to her full height. She was… Tall. Certainly taller than Twilight or Fluttershy by a good head or two. She whisked her measuring tape around her toned body. She focused purely on the professional side of things, already mentally sketching over those sharp angles and long lines.
Notepad in hoof she made her way down the list. Shoulder, girth, barrel, back, croup... Everything was accounted for. Good! Now then… She had a premade pattern around here somewhere for a marefriend of Sassy’s that she had done a piece for. Just needed to find it in one of her cabinets. Q, R, S… S, S, S… Here! Suit for taller mare. Just the label she remembered. Fishing it out she spread it across her draft table and checked some measurements. She was already pulling out reams of fabric and setting them beside her. Twilight’s telekinesis tips really had helped her. The hardest part was visualizing the item being held in her magic without actually looking at it but in her boutique that was made much simpler.
A nice heather gray met pale blue carbon copy paper as she traced the design on. She made some changes where she needed to; a few more inches here and a few less there. Sassy’s marefriend didn’t have quite the musculature that Tempest had so the neck would have to be a little larger, not to mention the section covering her barrel. Not a problem! It was a boon just having a pattern made already.
Having a good foundation made things much easier. Fabric shears whizzed as Tempest stood patiently beside her. Years of military training seemed to have made her quite good at waiting. Rarity turned to her, a sympathetic look in her eyes.
“You know you can sit down, right?”
Tempest turned in kind, her eyes decidedly unsympathetic. They tended to be that way. “I know. I prefer standing.”
“Standing can make some ponies feel nervous.”
“The broken horn and scars already do that just fine. I think ‘some ponies’ will live.” She turned back to the wall in front of them. Rarity really ought to hang up something there. It wasn’t terribly exciting to look at.
“Mmm. Point taken.”
With the fabric cut it was time to start sewing. This was just going to be a test fitting so she wasn’t going to sweat the details. Only once everything had been stitched and was found to fit would she start adding the embellishments. She wasn’t going to do anything too ludicrous, of course. Some embroidery on the lapel, maybe a purple satin lining to match her lovely date. Nothing too out there. What mattered was the cut of the suit and the mare wearing it and Rarity couldn’t think of a better model than Tempest. Chrysalis or Celestia were close seconds.
Rarity redoubled her focus on the garment below her before she got too distracted thinking of her beloveds. She started humming a tune, keeping time with the whirring of the sewing machine. She worked quickly but not without finesse. She had a lot of practice at this, after all. Applejack and Rainbow Dash both preferred suits and Rainbow Dash could be notoriously impatient at times.
Tempest eventually took an interest in her work, peeling her eyes off the featureless wall in front of them and moving to instead stand over her shoulder. Tempests presence in a room was unmistakable, even more so up close. Rarity could feel the warmth radiating off of her powerful body. She smelled like steel and sweat and gunpowder, an aroma befitting her severe demeanor. Rarity almost yelped as she heard Tempest speak, her voice reverberating in her head.
"You seem tense." That statement was followed by a slight curl of the lip that Rarity couldn’t see so much as she could feel.
"Do I? Hahah, yes I suppose I do feel a little wound up. Are you sure you wouldn't prefer to sit down?" Rarity looked Tempest in those impassive eyes in a desperate bid to avoid thinking about how close their muzzles were. It failed.
"I'm certain. I enjoy watching you work. I'm can appreciate any mare who can work with such precision at the pace you're moving."
"Well… thank you, Tempest. That's quite kind of you. I'm very fond of you as well." That was an understatement.
Tempest leaned closer, placing her muzzle square next to Rarities. "Are you? You wouldn't mind if we kissed then, would you?"
"Not at all! We've been dating long enough you shouldn't need to ask."
"Yes, well," Tempest closed the gap and pressed their lips together, Rarity's thoughts melting away as they leaned into each other. Tempest won, predictably, and Rarity had to brace herself against her sewing table in order to not fall off her chair. Tempest's soft, strong lips didn't overstay their welcome. It was all Rarity could do not to frown as they separated. "Pinkie told me that consent was sexy so. I'm inclined to listen to her."
Rarity took a moment to catch her breath, smiling wide enough for the both of them. "She's right about most things. Unfortunately." Rarity turned back to her work and Tempest resumed watching her. The corner of her lips curved upwards as Tempest sat her head on her shoulder. Her breath was a warm, comforting feeling in the climate-controlled stillness of her boutique.
She finished up her work swiftly. She felt the need to let off a little steam, a feeling that generally came with spending too much time around pretty mares. The sooner she could get Tempest out of here the sooner she could tend to her needs. She rose from her seat and Tempest moved back gracefully and stood underneath one of the spotlights. Even without a hint of flair, she was…
“Stunning.”
“No, no. This,”—Tempest’s cracked horn sparked with magical energy—“is stunning.” Tempest wore a wicked grin at the light show. Rarity just rolled her eyes.
“Funny.” Rarity's thin expression suggested her comment was anything but. “I mean you.”
“Oh. You think so? It seems a little plain for your tastes. I seem a little plain for your tastes.” Tempest plucked at the tail of the suit with a look of steadily mounting disdain. Rarity had to act fast.
“Darling.” Rarity paced around her model, eyes sweeping over her hoofiwork as she went. She ran a hoof along Tempest’s sides, tracing the rise and fall of the suit. Satisfied with her progress so far she took a spot a good few feet away from Tempest. “Of course I think so.” She placed a hoof underneath her chin and adopted a thoughtful expression. Under her breath she mumbled “now there’s a mare I’d let top me.”
Rarity returned to her seat at the worktable and busied herself in tidying up her area. She didn’t pay Tempest much mind as she focused instead on sweeping her fabric scraps into a small dustpan she kept nearby. Small scraps in the scrap bin, fold larger scraps for potential use later, rearrange needles based on size… Her mental checklist was knocked to the ground as she felt two strong hooves settle over hers.
“Ah! Tempest! I was just going to ask you to take the suit off. I figure I could get started on the embroidery and I’m certain you’ve got some things to take care of, so…” Some part of her had hoped Tempest would stick around and help her relax a little. That mare knew how to use her tongue.
“You know, I’ve really only got one thing on my list. A mare I know said something about how I could ‘top’ her. Would you happen to know anything about that?” The growl that had crept into Tempest’s voice was unmistakable. That was the voice of a mare who knew what she wanted.
The closeness of Tempest’s muzzle to her ears made her feel like she was being interrogated. Not that it bothered her. “Oh. You heard that, huh. Well… yes, you can and you may.”
“That’s all I needed to hear.”
Rarity froze when those same strong hooves moved to her shoulders, imposing their strength on her just enough to make Rarity bite her lower lip. She could feel Tempest’s warm body through her chair and she yearned desperately to lean into it. “Darling, shouldn’t we be heading up to my bedroom now? I can assure you it’s much better for lovemaking.”
“Later, maybe. I didn’t say anything about lovemaking yet though. I want you here, right now.” Those same strong hooves were kneading at the soft flesh of her shoulders. That was a welcome feeling, some of the stress of the day melting away at her touch.
“That’s… that’s so uncouth! What if I knock over my sewing machine? What if I lose a needle? Those are diamond-tipped I’ll have you—” The warmth pressing against her thigh was familiar, as was the aroma that was building between the two of them. Tempest was almost completely silent, with nothing but the sound of her breathing and the heat of her body to announce her presence. “Y-you do make a good case for staying here, however…”
“Put your hind hooves on the floor and your fore hooves on the table.”
“Yes. Okay.”
Rarity did as she was told and not a moment too soon, as her chair was kicked out from under her. Tempest sent it careening across the tile floor, crashing to the ground with a clatter. Somewhere, Opalescence was torn from her tenth hour of consecutive slumber. Rarity focused on the here and now.
“Set the sewing machine on the floor beside the table. Make sure there’s space in front of you that’s clear.”
Rarity knew when to follow orders and who to follow orders from and right here? Right now? With Tempest Shadow’s maredick pressed against her back? This was one of those times and Tempest was one of those ponies. Confident she had set the sewing machine and all her accouterments out of the splash zone she braced herself for whatever was next. If she had to guess… Yep. She grunted as her chest hit the solid oak surface in front of her. The hoof pressing against her withers was strong but gentle, an insistent pressure that made it clear exactly who was in charge here.
“I hope you don’t mind me skipping the foreplay just this once, dear.”
“Don’t worry about it. Seeing you in a suit was foreplay enough for ME!” Rarity did NOT expect Tempest to be as impatient as she was. Was she getting enough love from Twilight and Pinkie? ...That was a stupid question. Of course she was. Rarity had a policy of making the mares in her care wait for her attention but Tempest did not seem to subscribe to that train of thought, if the steadily mounting pressure inside her was any indication. No matter how many times she had hilted Tempest, no matter how many times she felt that flare dig itself inside her, Rarity doubted she would ever get used to Tempest’s sheer girth.
It was arresting, the way she worked her way inside Rarity. It was like she approached sex from the point of a combat drill. Small, steady movements were the name of the game at first. The medial ring called for different tactics of course. The hooves and cannons pressing against her shoulders adjusted themselves as Tempest readied herself.
“Deep breath in, Rarity. Now three, two…”
One was the last thought Rarity could sustain for the next couple seconds as Tempest’s thick ring pushed past her swollen lips, sinking a good few inches deeper inside Rarity. She knew she still had another two inches at least before she was spent and that was only the first step. Rarity tried to steady her breathing, try to find some purchase in the brief seconds Tempest afforded her but like any good general she didn’t let up her attack while she had the upper hoof.
She had a special way of making Rarity feel. With mares like Celestia or Chrysalis, she was a prize. She was the jewel in their crown, a trophy to be flaunted. With Rainbow Dash or Twilight or Applejack she occupied a spot on their pedestal and she loved it. With Tempest? There were times where she felt like an enemy army, outmaneuvered and at the mercy of her opponent. She was lucky Tempest was merciful indeed. The tender kisses she felt pepper her neck were like an oasis in the scorching desert of pleasure she found herself lost in. She held onto that feeling as Tempest began to rock her hips, more to remind Rarity of the concept of movement than anything else.
This dance was familiar. This was something she could handle. Tempest pulled back and so did she. Tempest thrust and she met with equal force in the opposing direction. Flesh collided and separated and collided again and again and again. This was a combat drill too, in her mind. Probably more fun but just as methodical, just as patient. She let out a groan as she felt strong teeth sink into the meat of her shoulder as a forehoof moved to press against her teats. She liked the attention down there. It was typically only Pinkie who really cared to pay the girls a visit. She must’ve picked that up from her puffball of a wife.
Between the rhythmic thrusts of Tempest and the pressure on her teats it was almost impossible to keep her thoughts straight. Not to mention the mouth on her horn… The mouth on her horn! Rarity’s eyes shot open and a groan echoed through the room as she felt a hot, wet tongue press against the length of her horn. Seemingly satisfied that she had gotten Rarity’s attention, Tempest began to suck on her horn in earnest. All coherent thought drained out of her head. She was too tired at this point to bother. It was far more comfortable to let pleasure take her in situations like this.

She tried to pull herself up, to peel her sweaty body off of her desk but even if she had the strength to do so the mare pressed against her back certainly wouldn’t have allowed it. She blinked through the magical fluid that was trickling down her forehead now, trying to compose some sort of response to what had happened.
“Th… Thanks.”
All Rarity got back was an ‘mmm’ and a kiss on the neck. Good enough for her.
