Thorax heals Twilight

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After Thorax said those words, Twilight reluctantly relinquished her grip around his neck and chest and dropped carefully to the floor on her good left hoof.

Thorax turned around to face her, then put his right hoof around her shoulders to support her to get over to the wall and lay down against it.

"Holy sweet Celestia, it hurts.. what are you going to do?" She asked him nervously, staring into his gas mask.

Thorax said nothing for a moment, his eyes still examining the extended and wounded hoof, there were large red burnt marks on the skin around each wound. Most of the blood was dried, but there was still a little fresh blood dripping from the wounds.

"It's definitely a shrapnel wound." He informed her. "You have second degree burns and the shrapnel has spread pretty well, but they aren't too deep. I need to get the pieces of metal out, lucky for you that they didn't hit an artery or you would be dead by now."

Then Thorax knelt down beside her, his armoured knees scraping against the hardwood floor.

He reached into his belt, flipped opened one of the pockets and removed a large sheathed combat knife. He removed the sheath and held it up slightly.

Twilight's eyes bulged as she stared at the razor sharp weapon, and she had a terrified look. Then she looked back at him again.

"I know, but are you sure you know what your doing?" She asked him worriedly.

"Yes. I have done this before even to myself." He replied quietly "It will hurt a great deal, but it needs to be done."

Twilight's mind flashed suddenly as she remembered something that she took back in the department.

"I found a first aid spray back in the precinct." Twilight told him. "I'm surprised I didn't lose it in the fight with the Nemesis." as she showed him the small sealed bottle.

Thorax nodded in satisfaction when he saw one of his and the changelings technologies, then he grabbed the bottle.

"Excellent. It'll help." He replied, as he removed the cap from the bottle.

He aimed the nozzle at the worst portion of the wound and pressed down a couple of times. Some of the medicinal spray covered the wound and Twilight hissed slightly at the cold liquid's sting.

"Relax." Said Thorax focusing on her wound "That should help with the infection, and I can put the rest on after."

Next, Thorax set down the bottle and gently lay his right hoof onto Twilight's injured left hoof, right below the main wound.

Thorax then glanced at Twilight and saw the fear in her purple eyes.

"There is no need to be frightened princess Sparkle." Thorax said quietly with a gentle smile behind his mask "Your the princess of friendship, the leader of the elements of harmony and you and your friends defeated king Sombra, tirek and many more villains, so your tough and I can handle the pain. "

Twilight released a deep breath she didn't realized she was holding in.

"I know you can.. And I trust you.. just.. please be careful." She replied, looking down at the floor.

"I intend to be." He replied firmly. "I would get some water from the kitchen to help clean this wound, but I won't take the chance that the T-Virus has contaminated the city's reservoir. We'll have to find some bottled water tomorrow for us to drink." He finished.

Thorax then brought his knife closer to the largest wound, directly above her knee.

"Alright...place the knife right next to the shrapnel.."

Slowly, he inserted a couple centimeters of the tip of the knife into the wound. Twilight groaned and clamped her jaws in pain as the knife touched the burned injury.

Thorax continued on, moving it slowly underneath the shard of the shrapnel.

["i]Now..open a small path to remove it carefully."

He expertly traced a small cut around the perimeter of the shard, trickles of fresh, sticky blood dripped onto Thorax's dark gloves, staining them as he worked.

Thorax stopped quickly and glanced up quickly at Twilight.

There were tears of pain forming in her eyes, but she was clearly forcing herself not to make any noise.

Thorax blocked out of the sight, looked back down, surveying his remarkable work and went back to the job.

Once he had got the shard loosened, Thorax removed the combat knife's tip from the bloody flesh and laid it on the ground.

He then activated his horn and a green coloured magic aura surrounded the top of the shard and in a split second, he ripped it out of her skin.

Twilight's eyes bulged open, wide with pain and surprise.

"Ahh! Oh sweet Celestia!" Twilight shouted angrily, panting heavily as she glared into Thorax's mask "Why in Equestria didn't you warn me before you did that?!"

Thorax then shook his head in annoyance from hearing her complain like a three year old.

"Better that it was quick and not drawn out. Relax, the worst is over now. The others will be quicker and less painful." He replied calmly.

Twilight's expression softened quickly, then she took a deep breath and nodded.

"Alright, just.. hurry up please." She replied calming herself down.

Thorax then turned back down to her hoof and examined the three other small wounds. He raised the tip of the knife again and got back to work.

The second one was the easiest, the small shard was already loose in the wound. Thorax pried it out of the skin quickly. He examined the sharp blackened piece of metal covered in blood in his hoof briefly.

"Heh..i didn't really feel that one." Twilight said with a pleasant smile as Thorax tossed the shard over his shoulder. "You must have the hooves of a doctor or something."

"Yeah I studied a lot about medical back in my foalhood." He told her.

"Really?"

"Yeah and after a while I became an expert medic."

"Whoa that's cool, you really must've valued education."

"Of course I did, their really important in your life" Said Thorax as he focused back on the shards in her hoof."Alright two more to go." He told her.

Thorax placed a bit of the knife's tip underneath the shard in the third wound, just below the knee. This wound was worse than the second, but still not too bad.

Thorax wiggled the blade under the shard and slowly popped it out. More fresh blood dripped from the wound.

Twilight fought back the urge to scream as the shard came loose and fell to the ground.

"Last one." Thorax commented neutrally and Twilight nodded quickly from hearing him say that.

Thorax raised the knife again and began examining the fourth wound on the side of her hoof.

Once again, he placed a couple of centimeters of the blade into the wound, spilling a little more blood.

He moved the blade carefully tracing around the wound, spilling a little more blood.

He then moved the blade carefully tracing around the wound. Thorax stopped and pried the final shard out of her leg with his magic.

The bloody piece dropped to the ground and Twilight picked it up.

"That stupid Nemesis, the changelings will pay for this." She muttered bitterly, tossing it across the room.

She then turned back to Thorax, who was now reaching for the bottle of first aid spray.

"Thorax.. I.. thanks." She said awkwardly as Thorax sprayed a bit of the cold, stinging liquid on each wound, the bottle was now only a quarter full and Thorax shook his head.

"Forget about it." He replied curtly. "I have some green herbs here as well, they have good medicinal qualities."

Thorax reached into a pocket on his front chest and pulled out a small green plant.

Twilight smiled and motioned a hoof at his dark armour.

"Herbs? You're carrying a lot.. you probably have everything in those pockets but the kitchen sink." She replied, a hint of teasing in her voice.

Thorax stopped and looked up at her slowly.

"It didn't fit." He replied in an embarrassed voice.

Twilight then burst out laughing at this, her mirth blocking out the pain. The pained tears in her eyes were replaced by tears of amusement.

Thorax then pressed down a huge smile not wanting to laugh.

"It looks like you're going to have a lot of scars, princess Sparkle. Don't worry about it, you'll have stories to tell about them." He replied, glancing at the wounds.

"I think the story about how they got healed will be more special than how I got them." She replied smiling, running a hoof through her smooth purple hair.

A sudden thought ran through her head and her hoof stopped moving, returning to her side and her face flushed furiously.

"Oh my Celestia! I'm flirting with him! Please don't notice... please don't notice."

Thorax simply tore off the herb' s leaves and placed a couple in each wound.

"She's flirting with me." Thorax thought, then his eyebrows raised again confusedly and he blushed "Where did that come from? And stop blushing Thorax! You're not in love with her!"

"Well, that should help take care of any possible infection, along with the spray." Thorax informed her neutrally. "We need to wrap something around your hoof though."

Twilight awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck and gratefully seized the distraction by looking around the room.

"The entire place is bare, Thorax. What could we use?" She asked.

Thorax glanced down at the red jacket she was wearing.

"Your jacket will work just fine." He informed her, pointing at her jacket she was wearing.

Twilight looked down at her jacket then back up to him.

"Alright, but be careful please, Rarity made that jacket for me." She told him"I hope that I can get the stains out."

She reached down and took off her jacket and handed it over to Thorax.

Thorax held the sweater up in both hooves, started looping it around her right hoof.

Twilight hissed again as the knot dug into her skin, then relaxed. A bit of bright blood started to stain through the colorless sweater.

"There." Thorax said, nodding his head at the securely tied sleeves.

Thorax glanced up at her hooves, noticing the light glass cuts littering them and pointed a gloved hoof.

"You have more cuts, I see. I'll take care of them too, give me your hooves." He ordered.

Twilight blushed a little from hearing him say that, but she obeyed him and extended her hooves for him.

Thorax gently gripped her right hoof and raised the first aid spray again, he sprayed a very small amount on each, then he reached over to her left hoof and did the same.

Thorax then reached up a gloved hoof and touched the sore purple bruises covering Twilight's neck carefully. Twilight coughed, clearing her throat.

"These will go away soon enough." Thorax said absentmindedly and Twilight nodded gratefully.

He lowered his hooves again.

"And your back?" Thorax inquired. "I saw cuts all over it, at the other apartment."

Twilight winced slightly as she turned, revealing her bare back and Thorax examined it carefully.

There were several long cuts with dried blood around them. They were traced down various sections of the skin. There were a few smaller one's as well.

"It looks like that raining glass from the first explosion did a number on you, but it's easy to fix."

"Yeah pretty much." Said Twilight.

"Alright, you can turn your back around." He informed her, relinquishing his hoof from her shoulder.

Twilight turned back to face him and she stretched her hooves and wings and sighing slightly.

"I feel a bit better already." She said quietly smiling to him warmly.

Thorax nodded and said "You'll be fine in the morning." As he grabbed his combat knife and sheathed it back into his pocket.

"You should get some rest now princess Sparkle, I can watch the door."

"Okay, and please call me Twilight, I really don't like the title highness." She told him.

"Okay." Said Thorax.

After that Twilight laid herself on the ground on her side and began to sleep but the cold of the apartment overcame her again, running up her hooves and wings.

"It's freezing cold in this place! How can I get any sleep?" Twilight thought while holding onto herself.

Thorax laid down on the floor on his side and glanced sideways at her from behind his mask taking the sight.

Twilight had goosebumps covering her hooves and wings, and they folded over her attractive figure in a poor attempt to keep warm but it didn't seem to help her in the slightest.

Thorax then stared off into space, deep in thought.

"Are you getting soft Thorax?" The cold voice spoke up "You fixed up every wound on her, now you care whether she's cold or not?"

"No, I'm not. I'm doing what I need to." He replied to the cold voice in his head "Besides, I can contact Nighthawk when she's asleep."

Thorax looked back at the shivering young princess beside him.

"Get over her Twilight." He said, motioning to himself with a hoof. "You'll freeze to death in that getup and you're no good to your friends, subjects, princesses, families and me dead."

Twilight then looked at him with smiled, she slid across the gap between them, wrapping her hooves around Thorax's armoured back and chest. She buried her head against the mid section of his warm outfit. She swung one hoof over his.

"His personality is cold... but he's helped me so much. Why would he do it?" Twilight thought. Then she fell asleep.

When Thorax felt her hugging him he immediately felt something.

"What is this love? Friendship?" Thorax thought in his mind he had never felt something like this before. But he immediately snapped out of that thought "Whatever. I just need to contact Nighthawk once she's asleep."

After that Thorax closed his eyes and slept, but he didn't sleep too deep.
