That One Patient
Dr. Farsight's Journal - Log 13
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSomehow, I really thought the security here was as good as they claim but… nope. It’s absolutely piss-poor beyond belief. This morning, shortly after I came in for work, I had to hide in my office after a riot broke out for some reason. While I was reading, they put the entire facility on lockdown as a result. From what I knew, a bunch of the inmates had gotten overtly aggressive and started attacking everypony they could see, even each other in some cases. But, that wasn’t the worst of it, not by far. It was like a can of worms let loose all over.
A group of the patients got the bright idea of breaking into the main security control room and opened all of the rooms. Originally, we had that implemented in the event of an emergency where we would need to evacuate but soon became a means to keep order in exigent circumstances. But, that was where the single point of failure resides. If anypony has access to that control room, they have the keys to the facility. For that reason, though I’m a psychologist, I advised them having a secondary security control room somewhere separate from the facility and in a secure location.
So, once all the prisoners were freed, our guards were hard-pressed to hold them at bay and contain the chaos. The worst of it was in Block A and that block, in particular, was known for housing some of our more… unpredictable patients. Out of all the recorded fatalities during the incident, Block A was where the most and worst of it occurred. I kept my office well barricaded until the Equestrian Riot Police were able to intervene. It took them about an hour to respond and arrive and contain the rioting. However, for the rest of the day, productivity took a hit due to the lockdown.
The only odd thing was that Apollo glint reportedly hadn’t so much as moved during the incident, only reading from his book as he sat on his bed. Also, his room on the C-Wing can only be opened through a keycode which thankfully none of the patients know about but they might not have cared about him in the first place. Oddly enough, none of the rioters haven’t come near his room either. It was as if something was warding them away, possibly Mr. Skull or whoever the fuck he really is.
This reinforces my theory that regardless of it being Apollo or Mr. Skull’s doing, the influence either of them exerts over everypony here is dangerous. If they’re somehow able to influence the minds of the other patients here, then it would explain why the others have been so aggressive as of late. It makes no sense though as the material lining the walls of his room was supposed to prevent this from happening. Mr. Skull must be more powerful than what I originally estimated and we could very well be in some serious danger.
I hope my request to access the archives goes through sooner than later.
