I would like to apologize for the lack of a new chapter yesterday because circumstances beyond my control prevented me from uploading it. Anyways, It's my hope you enjoyed this so far and continue to do so.

Dr. Farsight's Journal - Log 23

Sometimes, the work of a psychologist is never done. Even as we sleep and live our lives like everypony else, our ever-active minds are ALWAYS at work to discover how they function. Maybe it’s our curiosities at work but that varies from pony to pony so that might be only a small factor. But then again, even the smallest of factors can affect the mind and the same could be said about whatever we feel, see, taste, and think. It’s all about the stimuli, even from forces outside our control. Lately, we’ve been beset upon the spirit of an ancient but powerful evil that has been using one of our more troubled patients as a medium.

Earlier today, I got a chance to go through some of the material that Rosetta had left behind. She did put them together in lieu of a puzzle that I have to solve on my own. However, the “Gr-” that I heard Aurora Dream mutter the other day lined up with one piece of paper that adds more to Mr. Skull’s possible identity and there are four more letters to his real name. It’ll take time but not that much, I hope. However, that wasn’t the only bit of information about him by far as I came across an interesting tidbit.

As I and some of my other associates know, Mr. Skull existed thousands upon thousands of years ago. He also used an unknown artifact of sorts that looks like some sort of bell that he could wear. My guess was that Rosetta was about to discover what it could do before she did what she did and… I honestly can’t dwell on that anymore at this point. She did point out that the bell was eventually stolen and hidden from him by a hero known only as “Gusty”. Alongside her, some other ponies joined in taking down Mr. Skull, leading to his presumed death.

But, if Mr. Skull was that powerful as the notes say, did he truly die or did he somehow find a way to survive as a disembodied spirit? Either idea, I find them both equally disturbing as even though I’m a scientist, magic is just as much part of our natural order. Legends like the tale of Mr. Skull and Gusty have a historical basis so thats what also makes this disturbing to me. Yet, I don’t know his name so maybe I’ll figure it out and the context of the legend may make more sense.

I’m going to spend the whole day working through the notes so I won’t be able to attend to Apollo at all. I hope the staff will be able to handle him.
