Night Storm is a high rank guardian from Luna, but also a close friend. After she returned from her 1000 year banishment, he was there to listen. Over the years, they bonded, and he is her captain of the Lunar guard. One day Night Storm is given a task, but Nightmare Moon sees an opportunity to take over Luna. She the proceeds to stalk the guard, and eventually explain her reasoning, and how they together could improve Equestria.

The guard at first is confused, but then he stared in amazement that Nightmare Moon had changed so much. Could it be that standing before him now was actually a reformed Nightmare Moon? Yes, he could see his old friend Luna deep inside. He couldn't see how anyone could get hurt. And could this be better than before? Better For Equestria? He decides to give this a chance.
