Maud loves Boulder and even talks to Boulder. She loves showing Boulder off to her new friends. Surely they can see the beauty of Boulder, Right? I mean they would if Boulder was actually there.

They can't see him. They can't hear him. However, if they know what's good for them, they'll pretend they can.
